Southport is the best local seafood place in town. If you want fresh oysters- run, don t walk. If you want a laid back place to meet some friends, listen to good music, on the water- go! It s a Fort Lauderdale staple for a reason. The mussels are delicious. The spiced shrimp is one of my faves. The service- everyone is happy to be there and it reflects in the way you walk in and feel like family. Don t miss out on this gem!

Not nearly as good as it used to be not a good value anymore. Food is just mediocre. You can do better elsewhere. Had the fried fish sandwich served on a roll the piece of fish was thin and did not even cover the entire roll....

Was sitting on the deck. Suddenly, the rain started. The restaurant was so in a rush to cover themselves inside, while me and my friend had to carry all the food from the outside table to an inside table. We had to find a table ourselves, because the restaurant staff could not help even with this. By the time we managed to bring all the plates inside, all the food was soaked from the rain.

I have been coming here with my family for over 10 years! I have since moved away from Fort Lauderdale but whenever I am in the area it is a must have! Delicious seafood and an excellent price! They have a great outdoor deck with live music. The parking lot is small but there is ample street parking near by. I always get a dozen raw oysters and the mahi sandwich!
Couldn't get enough of their raw bar - oysters are by far my favorite...only second to the BEST New England Clam Chowder I have ever had anywhere - including New England. Enjoyed sitting outside with a view of the canal.

Very dirty place. We were dripping sweat by the time we left and we were sitting inside. The food was not impressive either.
All I can say is that it was alright. The blackened Mahi Mahi was decent and the fish tacos were pretty good. The keylime pie was mediocre at best. But then it took a literal hour for our check to be processed.

What an awful experience. As advertised online( closing time is 11:00pm) we arrived around 9:50pm and were not even greeted but instead told we had 9 minutes to sit down and eat because they were about to close. I was in shock and just left. What a lack of professionalism. We drove about half hour only to drive back home. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone due to the lack of customer service.

Love this place! Great for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to sit outside. They have great misting machines to keep you cool and usually have live music. Love the smoked fish dip and best place in South Florida for raw clams!

It's been here forever and a day! Good food at great prices!! Very laid back and the staff is very friendly...most have been working there for more than just a few years!! It is always good to see one of the owners running about or saying hello to Al the bartender for a good chat or joke. Local favorite for many, many years. Pay a visit!

Simply the best hidden gem in south Florida. Make sure to sit outside by the dock. I can't say I have tried everything, but my family loves this place, and the shrimp is so tasty and fresh, and the price is right. Recommend anyone who visit Fort Lauderdale to eat here for sure!

We ordered raw clams and were surprised to find they were the largest clams we ve ever been served ones used for baked clams and clam chowder. The servers were on a shift change (much to our surprise) and when we gave the gross clams back she explained that they have small, medium and large and if we the guests don t specify they automatically bring the largest ones. This server also has the Hitler coat of arms tattooed on her chest so you best believe we will not be eating there ever again.
Was on vacation and in search for a good oyster place. This came up on Google with amazing reviews and I now know why! The oysters were on point! Clam chowder and old Bay shrimp were pretty spectacular too! Restaurants like these are what I look forward to on vacation! Highly recommend this place!
My hubby and I absolutely love this place!!!! The Old Bay shrimp are not to be compared with any other shrimp anywhere!! The outdoor grill is open til 9:00 every nite!! Must have is the grilled oysters!!! The grill guy tops them with butter garlic parmesan n parsley. For landlubbers he makes Good Ass burgers. Ask him n he'll make you an inside out burger!! Super friendly n efficient staff!! After 30+ years they know their seafood!!!!

Stay away from this place! Horrible service! I sat there for 20 mins and was simply ignored. The waitress an older lady named Jackie I believe, never came back to take my food order. No it wasn t busy. She walked back and forth multiple times and stood there talking to the table behind me but wouldn t even look my way. I paid for my soda, which btw was flat! And complained to the manager before I left. He acted like I was just being a pain. Not coming back, do not recommend it. There are plenty of other options around.

This is the place I would take the late Anthony Bourdain for his Parts Unknown Fort Lauderdale episode. It's a local institution that's popular with locals and tourists. The raw oysters are great and the cheeseburgers are awesome. All food pairs well with a pitcher of Yuengling. The ceiling is lined with history, don't forget to look up. I recommend an outside table near the band which also gives you a great view. I also love the old fishing photos which decorate the restroom. This is a one of a kind place and we're fortunate to live nearby.

This place was AMAZING! It is an absolute must when you visit Florida! The freshest seafood I've ever had. The peel and eat shrimp are marvelous and you have to try the 1/2 clam chowder 1/2 conch soup!!
Low key atmosphere, delicious food, water views....what more can you ask for? Been coming here for year's and I have tried just about everything on the menu. Mahi here is hands down the best in South Florida. Fried clams, Old Bay Shrimp, Oysters and the Bimini Bread are the usual favorites. Beer and wine only, FYI.
Went for Cracked Conch was not as good as last visit here. Baked clams we over done and chef poured butter on top...gross.

don't let appearances fool you, the food here is surprisingly solid. the outdoor seating area is great to relax by the water and watch some boats too.
Hole on the wall on the intercoastal that has great food and solid beer selection. The fish dip here is unreal and I could eat heaps of it. If you've been here a lot and want to try something different, have them do a half and half on the clam/conch chowders.
Great dockside seating, quick bite spot. I recommend the combo platter of raw oysters, clams, and shrimp (4 pieces each, $15) and mahi fish tacos--all so light, fresh, and delicious!
The only place I know to serve Small,Medium and Large Clams and Oysters. The grilled Oysters are the best followed by the baked Cheese and Jalapeno Oysters. The Clam Chowder is perfect with richness and a abundance of Clams.
Great place to check out of you wanna see where the locals go. Always busy with inside and outside seating available. And a plus! They just got their liquor license.
