The Big Bus Tours London was an amazing experience. A huge tour of the City gems. Hopping on and off as we wished it was very convenient. The only reason I will not give you 5 stars is because the bus drivers are not very friendly.

We found it to be not very useful. It was often times more convenient to walk to most places than it was to wait for a bus, load, wait in traffic, and dismount. We found we enjoyed walking more too because you were able to see much more shops and architecture. The busses dont have air, so it was hotter inside than sitting on the top deck (if the top deck wasnt already full). Unlike their claim, the majority of the busses we rode upon did not have Wi-Fi either. We found the business hours to be inconvenient, stopping too early as most places in London are open late.

Never again. It seems pretty basic to the operation of a "service" like this that the bus will actually go and stop where it is supposed to stop (according to the map provided to us), and NOT go and stop at TEN other places we were not supposed to go, according to the same map. We got on the "Blue" line bus because we wanted to stop at Westminster Abbey and later the National Gallery. For some reason (without notice or any explanation), after crossing the bridge from Lambeth Palace, the bus did not stop at the Westminster Abbey or Parliament Square stop (stops 22 and 23 on the map I was given when I purchased the pass), but took off along Horseferry Road and then Victoria Street. We then picked up the route somewhere near Buckingham Palace and, near Hyde Park Corner, turned left when I was expecting to continue toward the Marble Arch (as shown on the map) and headed out to Kensington. Once again, I didn't know where we were going until we were passing Harrod's, which told me that our "Blue" line bus had somehow turned into an "Orange" line bus and was making a long run around a part of the city that I had no interest in seeing, in very slow-moving traffic. We made ten stops before we got back to the Marble Arch and resumed the Blue line course. When we got to Baker Street, our bus stopped and didn't move for a long time, because another Big Bus was stopped in front of us and wasn't moving. When that bus finally pulled away, our bus pulled forward and stopped, and only then did we learn that we were going to start waiting all over again for a change in drivers. And there I saw a large route map on the side of the kiosk that showed Blue and Red line routes that looked nothing like the map I had been provided, or the maps that were available inside the bus. You can't plan your time or your visit using this service, because you don't know where they will actually take you. Never again.

What a wonderful experience.

What a wonderful experience.
First time on Big bus for us and we absolutely loved it. Where do they manage to get such guides. Ours was called Steve and he was just larger than life. And I mean Big. Had us English speakers in fits and seemed to be translating bits of history into Dutch for one party and I think it was Turkish for another.
Well done Big Bus. What a fantastic idea.
The very best way to see London.

It was hard hearing and understanding the live commentator. I do believe that it's a must to have closed double-decker buses during winter time and the river cruise could have been better if the top of the boat was closed, it was hard to see anything in the bus and the boat if you didn't want to be cold.

This was an excellent tour bus. There are any locations that you can jump on or off. However as we went during winter this meant that it was freezing cold. The company understanding this gave us two days for the price of one. With the tour you received a pair of earphones which attached to the bus so you can learn about London at the time that you are driving through it.

My experience has been bad: the audio guide in Spanish hardly comments prominent places with interesting information and comments are cut. The price of the ticket is high and they let raise more people who had to go standing on the floor below, from where it is also impossible to see anything. One of the English guides who got on a tour was an elderly man and a tourist has had to give him the place of his son because the guide has hinted at it! The frequency of buses is not as frequent as they say.

Fabulous Bug Bus Tour around London. Excellent hop on hop off. Especially Blue ruote Liberty Hamleys. Harrods... we had an amazing dry day too. Commentator was brillant - ages 8 to 65. Loved it and it was very informative about attractions and history..We will do a different colour next time. Best day tour

Out of 4 routes, only 1/red has tour guide on board. The audio guide doesnt work either. Apart from Red, the other bus intervals are definitely longer than 20mins. And you will find every round trip has a 20min break before the next one starts. This so-called "final stop" is neither the smallest nor the largest number stop on the map. As a tourist, you could never anticipate this. This will easily mess up your plans. Overall, you couldnt afford to hop on and off for more than 3 times in a day, as the waiting time just eats your itinerary. It is better to buy a bus card and use Google to guide you.

So we waited on a bus in high traffic area near the parliament and bridge. This was due to Trump visiting for D-Day. Big Steve who works for the company offered to walk us over to another stop where there was no to short wait. That walk from Parliament to the station by Buckingham was the best free guided tour ( Not requested and just his courtesy) ever! He pointed out places where we could take our photos. I told him they would be called " The Money Shot". He even took the photos for us with our phone. He was so funny and likable. A true pro and I encourage if Big Bus ever does guided tour, You must put him in charge. He could run an incredible tour. Thank you, Big Steve and your Boss Dave! Your care and extra work is truly appreciated. I encourage you all to make this your choice. The live guides make a huge difference. We took the same company tour in Paris but with no live tour. It was still enjoyable but nothing like BIg Steve! We got lucky to meet you and Dave!

My favorite tours were the live tours on the red line (I think). There were great stories and great conversation with the guide. The other lines offer free earphones and both music and commentary. Commentary on those lines is offered in several languages. We used the tour for two days in order to hop-on-hop-off and see the sites around town. It gets really crowded at some of the areas like St. Paul's or at the Thames boat tour areas, Buckingham Palace and the like so we walked a bit to catch the tour up or down stream. Have a good time. If you can pick exact dates you want to tour, check online. The prices are deeply discounted if you can pinpoint your dates. Use the coupon booklet for discounts around town.

Disastrous - the tour was severely shortened due to road closures in the City of London. There was no warning on the website. The bus was stuck in traffic for an hour south of the river where there was nothing to see. I had two children with me, who were so bored and restless, that we had to get off the bus, having seen about 10% of what we expected to see. I have tried to contact the company since, to ask for replacement tickets, but they have ignored me.

Mixed feelings about this tour company. The man we had on our first day tour (I think his name was Christoph) was completely dreadful he was so bored he even yawned whilst he was talking and the information he gave was scanty with huge silences and delivered in such a fast and monotone voice it was hard to fully grasp what he was saying.

The next day we had a man and later on a woman tour guide that was brilliant. Masses of information given in a dynamic funny way easy to understand too.
So clearly it depends who you get.

The buses also stop quite running quite early around 6pm so we were stranded both days and ended up using the underground. But the buses are regular and smooth.

Great way to see London! It was cold the week we were there and the heat on the bus could have been better. On nice days the view from the top of the bus is amazing. The blue tour gives you the best of London if you only have time for one tour. Interesting commentary with headphones and live on the red tour. Good overview of the City. Boat ride on the Thames was excellent!

Generally a great service, comparable to the City sightseeing Bus service. Drivers are good, the life narrator is also very good - we even had a discussion with one of them concerning work, life and everything else in London. Combined ticket for the City Cruises is a must, as it takes you to Greenwich on the The Thames. The Hop-on Hop-off service did us a great job, as we used it in a couple of rainy days.

The service was so bad. Almost no buses and all of them were full, we had to stay downstairs standing with 20 more people in 3 different buses, 3!! We thought maybe it was just one bus so we tried again, same thing both times. It was more of a public transportation bus than a tourist bus.
The red route did a completely different rout so we were not able to go where we wanted too (had to pay the tube). Plus, the commentary on the bus sucks ( it's more music than facts). Would not recommend this company to anyone, there's more too choose from in London.

It was a mixed experience. In the morning and evening were the busses overly packed. During the day was OK. I like the fact that you can choose from so many different recorded languages to listen. You are covering a huge area in London and the drop off points are in great locations! All the drivers and also the workers on the street are very helpful and patient - Great iob! What was really disturbing and let me give you only two stars was one of the live commentators. Yes, he knows literally everything about London. No the huge but: He is rude and disrespectful! He shouted at a single mother that he wants her to leave the bus because of her crying child. He would not be able to take this and she should take the next stop and give her kids some juice. Honestly he shouted the whole bus was shocked about that!!! He also don't know how to speak to foreigners which(we all were as tourists). He kept dissing China as a country well aware that Chinese people were on board. He had a go on the protesters and kept accusing different people that they were probably protesters when they left the tour in central London. When people got up to early he kept repeating:Hold tight. He became louder and louder while doing it. Ignoring the fact that the people might not understand english that well and he maybe need to change his wording. This commentator really ruined the whole experience! It is a bold man with a bit remaining hair probably end of 50 years old. This happened last easter Saturday. Maybe you should have a word with this guy and fire him!! We had a blond girl on another bus and she was great! Very patient and funny!

Traffic is bad enough that it takes hours to get anywhere. If you want to jump on and ride it around the circuit one time - and if you want to spend the better part of your day that way - it's maybe fine. But hopping off and on will let you see very little because you spend most of your time in traffic.

We opted for a single-day family ticket. In order to maximize what we saw on our tour, we rode the bus from the Paddington area to the Tower of London. After touring the Tower site we utilized the River Thames cruise. Unfortunately, the Thames being tidal, prevented the cruise from proceeding beyond Parliament. Not to worry, there was a Big Bus waiting to offload passengers who chose not to wait out the tide.

I read some reviews by others saying that you'd be better to use the Underground. I disagree in part and think the Big Bus tour is great for providing a feel for layout of the city and the audio commentary gives a nice historical overview. Although I wish that we had the opportunity to ride one of the buses with a tour guide.

We took two days of tourist bus and I never imagined that at 6:00 p.m. they will leave you on the street without wanting to help you because the lines no longer work, I think it's a shame that for what they charge per day at 6 p.m. Full London and with all the lighting on Christmas Eve do that with tourism I will not use this company apart from the boys there are many that should not be expensive for the public. The worst thing that sat me down was that I was going with a 2-year-old girl and I asked the driver if he could bring us to Victoria Station and in very bad ways he told me to take the subway. If that is what you understand as a tourism aid then London is not a place for tourists to go.

Bad experience with very rude and unmotivated staff. Buses don't run every 10-20 minutes. When after 30 minutes of waiting we asked their operators for help, we found them fighting with each other and giving us different information. In the end they boarded us on the wrong bus and when we reported it they said it was our fault! SIC! and that "we listened too much". It is evident that the staff is poorly trained and not very motivated. Experience not to be repeated and definitely choose another Bus chain such as HOP ON HOP OFF.

Selected this company because it was one of the tours that was included woth the London Pass. Their app is not very good and was not useful in finding the stops, and the stops are not marked well. I would rather get shot in the foot than have to ever deal with this company. They ruined my day in London. The only reason I am writing this review is because of their staff. Not only did I encounter 1 rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful staff member but three of them. The one near Madame Tessauds was the worst of them. We already had paid for 4 tickets for the bus and four entrances to the museum online. All three of them refused to help us because we already purchased the tickets but wouldn't let us get on the bus unless we waited on a huge line to get inside Madame Tessauds. The first staff member we encountered outside Saint Pancras told us to go to Madame Tessauds and there was nothing he could do. He didn't even bothered in giving us directions

We had a wonderful experience despite Corona (about a month ago). The crew was a lot of fun, very generous and extremely helpful! We bought a ticket online, and had no issues using it at the bus. The bus drivers were literally helping us making the best of our time in London. Several tickets include a boat ride. It's nothing special, but it's a nice touch to see the city from a different angle, plus you'll get to see plenty of other busy spots alongside the Thames that you can visit afterwards. Again, great experience, highly recommend, but maybe we just got lucky. Best of luck

Bus tour was fine if you wanted to stay on the bus for the entire tour. However if you wanted to hop on / hop off, the stops didn't match the map particularly on the blue bus route. Two of the drivers confirmed that the stops were renumbered and that the maps were out of date regarding the stops. Made it difficult to plan when and where to get off.

The audio guide hardly explains anything in Spanish and the little it explains is boring. Long lines, we asked several employees for the blue line and when we arrived it was not where they told us, in the middle of the journey they lower us because it breaks and they put us in another one. And the strongest thing is that they allow more people to go up than the bus stops and you have to stand up after paying the high price of the ticket.

You can not trust them in the afternoon, they start closing lines super soon and you can stay away from your destination. We took him at 16:30 in London Tower, to go to Piccadilly, we asked the driver if he was going to Piccadilly, he said yes, it was the blue line and after taking a huge turn he leaves us in Hide Park and tells us that the service ended, several people were going to Piccadilly and they ended up taking us with another bus out of the way but they made us lose two hours between whistles and pipes. The next day we arrived at the harrods big bus stop at 5:10 pm and after waiting 30 minutes we discovered that nothing more was happening. We and 12 other people. Only valid for the morning and much slower than regular lines

Quite dissapointing with the experience. I booked 3 tickets at a cost of 90 pounds on Friday March 14, for use the next day. At the time of booking, I was not informed of the serious disruptions for Saturday to the RED line, which is the most important route for the London highlights. My visitors had great expectations, but were quite dissappointed when the service after 12 noon turned out to be very chaotic. There was re-routing, buses stopping for 15 minutes or half an hour, drivers and guides not knowing what to tell customers and general lack of information. While I understand that Big Bus Tours is not in control of parts of the route being unavailable, I do think the way it was dealt with was unprofessional and left me with a very sad feeling having spent this much money for hardly any London Highlight tour.

Sights and bus trip OK. in the late afternoon 2 buses were combined onto the 1 bus so it was sooo crowded people were standing up and falling everywhere. Very dangerous! My biggest issue/problem/delima with this company is I booked online, money was taken from my credit card and no email was received confirming for my booking, as the webpage was "experiencing problems and my request could not be processed at this time". Spoke to street ticket seller the next morning, he rang the main office and I was assured it was not taken. I paid again on his word, however my first payment was not refunded. I had been charged twice at $38 English pounds! Not happy. Have contacted company 3 times and NO reply to my emails. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I would not take Big Bus Tours again. Precious time was lost on our short time in London while sitting on the bus and waiting for tickets to be sold at too many stops. One would think that tickets would be sold ahead of the bus arriving and those who did not get their tickets on time would wait for the next bus. The time spent touring could have easily been cut in half if we did not spend so much time waiting for the sales to prospective clients. Very poorly organized from that point.

Absolutely not recommendable! Very few nice drivers and hardly information. Due to the traffic chaos in London, we sat half a day in the bus in a traffic jam. We could not see everything because then again the time is missing. This is a waste of time and a waste of money in my opinion. The rider of the Green Tail while we were still about 300m away from the bus stop just stepped out and opened the door. The people like me did not know if you should get off. So I got out and then the bus driver comes back in and does not look and closes the door. I'm still standing outside because you did not know if you should get out or in. Then my comrades make an uprising and I could jump into the bus at the last moment before the door closes. At the bus stop, the bus driver thinks it was our fault and we return to him.

The day we traveled the bus times were behind by 45 minutes. We rushed out of the hotel and waited in the cold at the stop for nothing. I felt like we missed out on part of our vacation. It would be helpful if the name of the stop was listed at the bus stop and it matched the names on the map provided.

We liked the tour we were able to do. There were such traffic jams that it was impossible to complete the tour due to lack of time. We miss that any driver knew some Spanish given the number of Spanish speakers who visit the city. It is also very difficult to find an agent at the stops to make inquiries (also in Spanish). We took our tour of London during the Common Wealt...

We took our tour of London during the Common Wealth meeting and several roads were blocked off. This led to horrible traffic.

We took the blue line that has prerecorded information about the city and there were large gaps between any information being delivered. We hopped off near Buckingham Palace for lunch and after lunch came back to hop back on. Both the red and blue lines meet there and since we were dissatisfied with the blue line, we thought we'd enjoy the live tour of the red line.

Buses are supposed to arrive every 15-20 minutes. We waited half an hour for a bus. Nothing came. Not even a blue. So we took a walk closer to the start of the line and waited there. For an hour. We saw tour buses from every other line stop there several times before a bus finally came. It was a blue. Since we had been waiting for so long, we decided that it was better to take the blue than to wait for a red. It was a mistake -- we should have either taken the tube back to our start or waited for the red. The tour audio was not enjoyable.

Some of the issues were due to the Common Wealth meeting mangling traffic, but I recommend avoiding the lines with prerecorded audio.

made a big mistake and bought 3 tickets from the street for 40 pounds each. After 10 mn i finally found the station and waited there 20 mn more for the bus to arrive (even thought the guy i bought them from told me i will wait max 10 mn). From the time i hopped i stayed on for 45 mn stuck in traffic before our driver left the bus resulting having to find onother ride. After a 30 mn wait the bus finally arrived and to our suprise it was FULL even so we decided to hop on. We spended another hour standing still stucked in traffic untill i felt sick and decided to exit the bus.
A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Good way to see a lot in one day if you don't get off the bus which is the whole point of the hop on hop off feature. I only had one free day on business went along and got off and did the river cruise which was nice but when I got off at the Harrod's stop , waited for 45 minutes with several others and the bus never came back in that time.
I had to take a normal city bus as I was going to be late for a business dinner other wise. Not sure it's worth the money spent on it.

Today we took the bus from this company and I cannot believe that they let us ride around the town for three hours without any information about road closures due to demonstrations. We were stuck in traffic for hours, had to walk around to find a bus stop that lead us to the blue line, were not able to see anything and wasted our ticket. I am wondering why the bus drivers or tour guides do not communicate?! Did the red line tour guide not know that the blue line was cut due to demonstrations?! I know demonstrations happen but it was unfortunate that this was not communicated with customers. We spent our day riding on the bus and not seeing much except being stuck in traffic. I wish this was communicated with us.
