Everything there is simply amazing - the building, the people, the exhibition and the activities. There are free tours in different languages, also a free virtual tour through the Ygyptian history on 9 interactive screens (ask about it at the information desk). You can also access the reading halls with your entry ticket. There are a lot of additional exhibitions, some free, for some additional ticket is necessary. Practically someone could spend a whole day in front the library not getting bored even for a second. Just amazing experience. :)

Visiting the library was a great experience. I went as part of a tour. You need to pass through multiple metal detectors and bag scanners (bags are scanned as well) before entry. We had a guided tour inside the library. The only reason for four stars is the antiquities section was about to close at 16:30 but our guide failed to mention this and spent too much time on the digital displays. When we got to the antiquities section it was closed, but our (external) tour guide convinced them to let us in for 5 minutes. Great history and displays, and info about Alexandria through the ages. Take your time and come early! No photos allowed inside in the display areas, including antiquities.

It's a lovely place. Museums, art work, books and future plans to digitalise the books. It would be great if all old manuscripts from bygone centuries were uploaded and translated to other languages. Time flies while in this facility. Beware NON-Egyptians 70 pounds to enter main library, 50 for Antiquities Museum, 30 for Manuscripts Museum. And there is a couple more museums.

Very impressive! My husband and I got a two-hour tour with a guide and although their collection is not very large two hours were barely enough to scratch the surface. Staff were professional and courteous ... We will definitely come back next time we visit Egypt .
