They have a convenient study rooms and very good environment for education

i use to volunteer here for about a year or so. everyone was kind and nice.

My two years old loves to go to the library to play with the toys and to pick out books. Great selection of books for kids.

How much I miss this wonderful place during this time of sheltering in place. We are so lucky to have this amazing library in Skokie!

Excellent selection, and very kid-friendly. The only deficiency I've noticed is a lack of space for people to study with laptops.

Always a joy to get new books and see the events that are happening.

Extensive selection of books, helpful staff, pleasant building, and open for 12 hours. One of the better CPL branches.

For a diverse library, they don t seem to abide by their Patron Welcoming policy . What I had witnessed was vulgar and grimy. One of the librarians was assisting a woman who seemed to have somewhat of an accent, and when the woman tried to explain what she needed help with the librarian started mocking her and told her to learn how to speak proper English like how an American should. Who on earth has the time to hire a staff like this? Beyond rude and inappropriate. A shame 0 stars isn t an option cause that s what this library and their staff deserve.

Best Library! Friendly staff, well organized activities, parking on both side of the building. Borrow books, music, movies and T.V. shows on DVD and huge selection of blue rays movies, children, teen, books in foreign languages, and the list goes on.

Stellar library and one of the best ones out there in the Chicagoland area. Great quiet spaces and a large selection of books. It does get very crowded though

Skokie Library has cutting edge camera and video equipment that patrons can check out. Knowledgeable staff and a comprehensive selection of books, ebooks, magazines, and FREE programs round out the reasons this library has won National awards !!

The best library anywhere. Books, movies, games, toys, science equipment, computers, study rooms, everything you could possibly need (umbrellas too)

I've been going here since I was a kid, and it's never decreased in quality. It's very clean, and people actually come here to work, study, and use the resources (instead of Chicago and some other libraries that seem like shelters or conversation spaces). The atmosphere is positive and productive, and the library seems like it's community-driven. Unlike Evanston, Oak Lawn, and other burbs, Chicago cardholders can't check out books.

I used to like this place but not anymore. It turned to be Islamic center!

Great library for the extras(EX: the theater they have is awesome) and services they provide. Great selection huge library with a lot of space and a lot of seating. UNFORTUNATELY not the best for studying their are ALWAYS teens in the "study rooms" who are ALWAYS loud and rowdy making noise. that is EASILY heard to the outside trying to actually study which is ironic. Even when I am in a study room my self because of how close they are and how noisey the people in the other study rooms are its hard to even study. I think the staff needs to do a better job of circling through and paying attention to the noise in the LIBRARY walking in any "study rooms" and quieting down any disruptions and leaving those rooms to people who ACTUALLY came to study not play. (I have been here more then 10times it is ALWAYS the case so this is not a 1off review)

The place is nice to study however, the guards just kick you out even if it's cold. My brother had a cold which got worse because of these INHUMANE guards I should say. I understand it's the rules that they are abiding by but at least think of the kids or people who can catch cold or even worse.

I have no membership here, but I do visit with my client who has autism on a weekly basis. Every week, I try to throw his selections off because of course he tends to get the same DVD selections over-and-over due to being autistic. There are times I win, and there are times that I lose, but with Skokie Public Libraries huge selection of DVD's here he will always be up to date with new Disney choices.

There is always something going on at this library that results in educating kids within the Skokie area. Libraries like Skokie Public library are needed throughout all of Chicago/Chicagoland. The library itself is very clean, organized, and the staff is very sociable & friendly not just with other customers, but with my client as well despite him being autistic.

They bought my e-books and will have me as part of their local authors showcase. They are very supportive of their artists, including the verbal kind.

A nice place. Recently updated. The kids section is fairly open and has plenty of areas for exploration.

Went there for a meeting, good place for a meeting.

Everyone is really friendly and helpful. They have a good election of reading, video, audio, and computer equipment.

There is not much you can't find here and if they do not have it, they will get it elsewhere.

Best library ever! They have pretty much everything you could ask for, including high speed internet, books of every kind, and great staff.

Best library in the area. Only major shortcoming is they don't stay open late enough on Sundays (close at 6 vs 9), the only day our family can get there short of taking a vacation day (we are Skokie taxpayers - Hope someone is listening:-).

I like it, it's cool. Go here all the time. I have fun at the computer lab and the book selection is good.

The best library in the world! I spent my teenage years there and it went from modest to state of the art type of library that not many out there can compare. I wish i still live close to visit, but i miss you so much!

Absolutely the best! One of my favorite places in the world. Incredible collection and amazing programs for the entire family.

I love to come here, especially after school because my school is close to here. the computer lab is awseome and the book selection is great.

First time here, half of the staff is sweet and the other half is really rude. They made me switch my study room 5 times. The staff has no manners and Skokie Public Library should reevaluate them selves. Very Disappointed! Not worthy of even a star!

THAT'S WHAT I TOUGHT ! THIS LIBRARY VENUE IS AN ABSOLUTE TREASURE . I CAME FOR THE 1ST TIME LAST WEEK (10/FEB/2017) .

I ATTENDED THE 16TH ANNUAL TOWN HALL MEETING IN ASSOCIATION WITH , TURNING POINT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE CENTER .

THE BEST 2.5-HRS. IN RECENT HISTORY . I LEARNED ABOUT SOME BEHIND THE SCENE'S FACTS ON ; LOCAL , COUNTY , STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL'S .

PERTAINING TO :

1 POLICE & MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING

2 THE INSANITY ON OUR STATE BUDGET

3 THE INTEREST LEVELS OF SAID POLOTICIANS AND THEIR FRUSTRATION EXPLAINING THE OBVIOUS IMPASSE

4 HOW THE DYNAMICS OF MENTAL HEALTH HAS SURVIVED (ALL BE IT ON - - LIFE SUPPORT) , SINCE THE PURGE OF FUNDING

5 THEN , THE RELATIONSHIP OF CARE (MENTAL HEALTH) IN PRISON VERSUS IN THE COMMUNITY

Veey spacious, movie theatre, different activities for ages. The staff is always helpful and friendly. This place is very clean with up to date material. I travel from rogers park to come here. Its a wonderful library.

Very helpful and friendly staff, lots of space and peaceful reading area, full of books in a wide range of subjects.

This place is a true gem of the northern suburbs. Tons of recourses and money spent on making sure the Skokie community is provided to in any way possible.

Facility is very well maintained, always very clean. I haven't seen a better looking library, and I spend a lot of time in many!

The plethora of books, movies, video games and student recourses truly brings Skokie to life. It's an outlet for many people to do whatever they want.

Play with the game consoles in the Teen room? Yes. Use the computers? Yes Study for finals in near sound proof rooms? Yes. Learn a new skill via the program's provided at the library? Yes.

This place is what makes Skokie a bit more bearable for young teenagers. Very sad to be leaving this incredible place for another library in the city.

It's worth your time to at least come to Skokie to see what this library has to offer to you.

Staff is always super nice & I love the facilities! The computers upstairs recently got a face lift, they're constantly getting new self-checkout machines & there's a media room with a green screen & macs. Plenty of parking, too with two lots.

This library is AWESOME! It's has that new library smell, and lots and lots and lots of books! It's really easy to get a library card.
Did I mention they have SELF-CHECKOUT?? Isn't that fun?! It's really a customer-friendly atmosphere, with plenty of seating if you want to hang out and read there, or hook up your laptop to the abundant collection of outlets and study/write....but staff wasn't too helpful.

Absolutely love this place, both as a patron and as an employee. Keep up the good work, y'all!

Love this library but it is still closed for both the pandemic and renovation.

This is a great library in Skokie! multiple floors with a ton of resources and a ton of spaces to study. Plus is that it is also open on Sundays. I love going here to study. Staff is very helpful.

I have been to many libraries in my life. I have been going to the Skokie Public Library for more than 40 years. The staff is extremely helpful and kind, and the collection is outstanding. I would recommend this library to anyone who has a chance to visit it. Also, lots of quiet places in the library to just sit read and enjoy a book.

Library itself is nice and big. But quality of people, who comes here is not good. Many of them have no manners. Second floor library should be quit place, every time I come here I hear people speak loud for long period of time. It s rude. Library should be quit place and if anyone wants to talk they should take it somewhere else. I think workers should start educate these people how to behave in library. Management should put signs saying no taking allowed .. since these people don t understand simple rules and purpose of the library. It s just very frustrating when you study and someone talking next to you. One time Asian couple ate lunch with funky smell after lunch woman start to make some noise.. what can I say .. no manners ..

Skokie's greatest asset. A forward thinking, modern library with an unbelievably rich selection of books, music, movies, magazines and more. I am very rarely unable to find what I am looking for, even if it is a newly released title, and, to my surprise, when I request something they don't have, the library will bring it in; amazing! The staff is friendly, eager to help and knowledgeable. I love this place so much that am there 3-4 times a week. I wish all libraries were as good as this one.

I am disgusted with this place. Every time I come here, I encounter some sort of problem. Today, the man in line ahead of me who spoke very little English was told he was wasting the librarian time because he didn t know how to use the machine to return his books and brought them to the desk instead. I left without a book as well because the librarian couldn t find my account. I d rather pay on amazon or Barnes and noble and save myself the aggravation.

They have a lot of great programs. I love Skokie public library

Wonderful place to get books, do research. Librarians are always courteous and helpful.

I heard that there volunteers are helpful and great at what they do. I hope one day my grandchildren can volunteer and be as great as the ones today.

This is a great library. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful children's collection. The library is set up is logical. It is easy to browse and find things. They have a great multimedia section. They don't charge to check items out. They have recently lowered late fees. They have a tech room and I have heard they have a 3-D printer. They purchase a lot of new books, especially in the kids section.

For a book lover like me this place is heaven. Staffs were friendly and easy to approach. Had a various books available with a variety of categories. Clean, well-maintained and organized too.

Terrific space. Good spots to read. Good collection. Staff always helpful. Full schedule of activities for all ages.

Love this library. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have all of movies, books, and resources that anyone could need. I was very happy with my time in Skokie and this public library is one of the main things that I loved about the town!!

The best library it's a great place to study and focus, beside that, it has helpfull and nice staff

The Library has a lot of stuff, great kids area free 3 d printing a lot of dvds and books, BUT, a library is supposed to be a place that is QUIET!! People are constantly talking here even the librarians are talking. Today they were doing construction! If you want to do some work and noise wont distract you it's a great place, but if you really need to focus with no distractions you'd be better off going somewhere else. I addtion the loudest area is the computer lab, so if you need to do work on a computer, such as if you need access to microsoft word, there is no place you can go

An amazing library with limitless resources. The librarians are tremendously helpful. A real treasure for Skokie.

public libraries. Skokie PL was not one of them. Never-the-less, it is
among the best libraries I've ever used. I've met with nothing but
friendliness and competency from everyone who works there.

This is a top library. It doesn't get better than this for a public library. Helpful, knowledgeable staff, very strong collection, clean, well-lit environment, & spacious, modern building, & fine parking. An outstanding library, like this, really says a lot about the community.

This is one of the best libraries I have ever been to. Their collection of new and modern videos as well as books is superb! The library has a lot of great spots to sit and just read a book and relax. Love this place. Only thing I would recommend is more outlet! The staff is really helpful and everyone there seems to like their job. Checkout prices are pretty cheap too. Great resource for any student or adult looking to learn or explore.

Chicago has so many libraries, but my choice is always skokie. Calm, beautiful, clean and have coffee machine :)

I went to this library for the first time with my daughter and it was an awful experience. While waiting to be checked out, two librarians were talking among themselves about their personal sex life in front of me and my daughter. This is morally disrespectful and shouldn t be talked out loud in public. Discipline your staff.

Best library ever. CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF, HUGE SELECTION OF BOOKS, DVD's, and educational programs. LOVE everything about it.

This library has a lot of great things and generally is very useful. I love the late hours too. My one complaint is the low standards they have for the patrons of this library! This is the only library I've gone to where I've consistently had to shush people in the computer lab or where I've had to cover my nose because of people's lack of understanding personal hygiene. Please put up signs or something to improve this.

Everyday I discover more and more reasons to love this place . Very peaceful, friendly staff,everyone feels welcomed . Maintained clean.
