Nice, clean and fairly updated hotel. Lobby restaurant and bar are really nice- especially the staff. The suite room was a nice upgrade, but the "bedroom" seemed a bit small. That said, no huge complaints.

What a terrible experience. We booked a room for a night while driving my mother who is sick with cancer to visit her family in muskoka from Sarnia. We booked this hotel as a nice break after meetings with oncologists and radiologists this week. It was supposed to be a nice break for all of us as we are exhausted.
Upon arrival we found out that two queen size beds meant one queen size bed and a pull out sofa. Great. My mom has bone cancer which meant my husband and I had to sleep on a pull out couch. As I am off work to take care of my mother, this was a luxurious thing for us to stay at a hotel together and we were excited..but this room is not what we booked. We immediately went down stairs to question the staff who ignorantly offered us a free breakfast or an extra duvet which is not the same as as good night's sleep.
I will never again stay at a Delta and frankly...you should be ashamed of your staff here. This is the most dissapointing night after an extremely challenging few weeks of our lives. If my mother was not so sick, we would not be staying the night..but I have no choice.
11:30pm...need to add this. ..the hotel staff then thought it was appropriate to call our room..wake up my sick mother trying to offer us another room? How is this possibly okay? Do you have any idea how hard it is for a person with cancer to get a good nights rest? She woke up, scared something bad was happening. How is this okay?
Thank you so much for giving us the WORST night Delta. I am so dissapointed in this service. You should teach your staff some respect. They saw my mother come in in a wheelchair and I told them when I spoke to them that we were exhausted from doctors appointments and that's why had booked two beds in the first place. They had zero tact. I am not sure anything can make this better.
The hotel restaurant 50 west is a very stylish and trendy spot. The food and drinks and marginally more expensive than similar spot not attached to a hotel. Still though, the food is very good. Service is prompt and professional.
Stayed in the king suite. Welcoming atmosphere, spacious room. Could have been a bit cleaner. There were hairs in the bathtub and one of the pillows in my room smelled like men s cologne - but these were minor inconveniences. It was dead quiet on my floor which was a nice surprise as I stayed on NYE. Lots of room for my 2 year old to run around. Breakfast the next day was good, but not worth $18 a plate. Also you could use more salt on the sidewalks coming into the hotel as I slipped and fell on slick ice coming back from New Year s Eve celebrations. Overall a nice hotel and I would stay here again.
Love the delta. It's the first place I stay when I go into guelph. Staff and managers have always been amazing. Way back when I stayed there when I was Ill and they brought me flowers with a card saying get well soon... never forgot it. Beds are incredibly comfortable and it's an elegant beautiful hotel.
Visited for a wedding. The staff was excellent. The hall and the food were very good. The Hotel bar was quite nice, but the staff wasn't ready for us to line up for drinks before our event started. The parking situation is confusing. There is a lot of signage that leads you to beleive you have to pay. The short version is if you're there for an event you don't have to pay for parking.
a lovely hotel, very close to Guelph University. the staff is wonderful. Sarah, at the front desk, was warm and welcoming and Steve and Natalie at the hotel restaurant (Fifty West) were a delight. They both took the time to engage in conversation and made me feel very much at home. I will definitely stay here again!
Ate dinner in restaurant. Unfortunately food took over an hour to arrive. Waiter was very nice. Onion Soup syrupy and inedible. Rest of food was good. Fish and chips nice.
Very large venue for conferences. Very clean and quiet space. The hotel is really close to the University of Guelph and the GO busses that pass by there.
Fantastic stay at the hotel for a wedding. Desk receptionists were amazing and helpful. Only problem we had was with some bulbs in the room being burnt out.
Well taken care of rooms, lots of avalible outlets and kind staff. Would love to of seen the "Green" door hanger option, didn't see it until it was to late.
Went to the wedding expo for my best friends upcoming nuptials. The conferance rooms are spacious and well lit. We had made a few comments about the outside spaces as well. The patio we saw had enough furniture but we also noticed people had clearly been using it for smoke breaks (butts were by the door back in). Over all though it looked and felt welcoming.
Had dinner at the Fifty West restaurant, they've hosted our company Christmas dinner for the last 3 years. Menu is always excellent, great staff and local beers on tap.
The rooms are the perfect size for the 20ish person meetings we host. And in the past few months the menu has significantly improved (I was told that a new Executive Chef came onboard)
The in house restaurant is excellent however somewhat pricy if you are hoping for a full meal such as roast beef. The rooms are very nice with comfortable queen beds and large flat screen TVs. One issue with the room is that the electrical is setup somewhat weird and you are required to flick the hall switch to activate electricity to the lighting each of which has it's own switch to actually turn the light on. My last issue with the room is the bathroom. While it is nice to have the counter and sink seperate from the toilet and shower, pocket doors are very annoying and it does not leave much room when getting out of the shower.
Stayed one night in the Deluxe King Suite and it was wonderful. Rooms were clean and very nice, services were speedy and prompt and overall a great experience. We would definitely go back and stay there again!
Perfect southend location in Guelph for visiting the University and very nice decor, and customer service. Rooms are modern and fresh and the recent Reno of their restaurant is great
Our family stays always at the Delta Hotel in Guelph Beautiful place very clean Great Guest service from the moment you walk in Very friendly staff On September 21 we stayed there again we called in the morning To let them know that my daughter and her baby were coming with us if it was possible to have extra sheets for the Sofa bed not a problem very accommodating As we checked in and got to our suite 501 not only we had extra sheets The Sofa bed was already done for us that helped a lot sense we drove for 4hours That's not all on top of the desk was a very sweet note welcoming us to Delta Hotel and wishing as a wonderful stay For sure I recommend Delta Hotel To anyone that wants to stay in Guelph
The service we received from this hotel was excellent. Our group rented a conference room for off site training and all of the equipment we required was provided. Staff was friendly and helpful with our requests. Will be looking into using them in the future.
Center was clean and spacious. Served food was on par with other establishments. Staff was not as attentive to bussing needs, but that could have been based on the event planners.
Had dinner at the bar attached to the building. Service was great, food was quite bad. My girlfriend barely touched her pasta and I really didn't care for my burger either.
Very well-appointed accomodation just steps from the University of Guelph and the city's largest shopping centre, Stone Road Mall. The hotel exudes luxury with just the right amount of business facilities for the traveller.
In-room items include a refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, cordless phone and much more. The bed and its pillows are heavenly and wonderfully comfortable.
I would suggest adding some kind of complimentary breakfast.
I strongly endorse this facility as one of Guelph's shining stars!
The room was okay. Breakfast buffet was overpriced. "Pet friendly" but not as friendly about it as other hotels on our travels, which have at least offered animal extras, or one that was exceptional with water and food bowls in the room before we checked in, and a few dog treats, too. If we're in Guelph again, I'd look for other lodging.
I have stayed at the delta for dance competitions .... the beds are super comfortable!! They load up comfy pillows and blankets! I wouldn t recommend eating in the lobby restaurant! It s a one star.
I went to a conference based on goals and Improvement. It was an excellent conference and was helped by the excellence of the hotel. The supplied pens and paper were great and it seemed very well organized
Our room wasn't in the best shape, the wallpaper in rm 310nis peaking off. Also the cleaners could use some coaching the ice bucket had stale water in it and the bathroom sink and th had other people's hair in it. The appreancebof the exterior of the hotel was beautiful though.
The location is a very classy color scheme, big rooms, the staff is friendly and accomodating. The event went very smoothly. Parking was a breeze and the rooms were clean and cups were conistantly cleared, bathrooms cleaned b and hallways kept clear.
