What a terrible experience. We booked a room for a night while driving my mother who is sick with cancer to visit her family in muskoka from Sarnia. We booked this hotel as a nice break after meetings with oncologists and radiologists this week. It was supposed to be a nice break for all of us as we are exhausted.
Upon arrival we found out that two queen size beds meant one queen size bed and a pull out sofa. Great. My mom has bone cancer which meant my husband and I had to sleep on a pull out couch. As I am off work to take care of my mother, this was a luxurious thing for us to stay at a hotel together and we were excited..but this room is not what we booked. We immediately went down stairs to question the staff who ignorantly offered us a free breakfast or an extra duvet which is not the same as as good night's sleep.
I will never again stay at a Delta and frankly...you should be ashamed of your staff here. This is the most dissapointing night after an extremely challenging few weeks of our lives. If my mother was not so sick, we would not be staying the night..but I have no choice.
11:30pm...need to add this. ..the hotel staff then thought it was appropriate to call our room..wake up my sick mother trying to offer us another room? How is this possibly okay? Do you have any idea how hard it is for a person with cancer to get a good nights rest? She woke up, scared something bad was happening. How is this okay?
Thank you so much for giving us the WORST night Delta. I am so dissapointed in this service. You should teach your staff some respect. They saw my mother come in in a wheelchair and I told them when I spoke to them that we were exhausted from doctors appointments and that's why had booked two beds in the first place. They had zero tact. I am not sure anything can make this better.
