Staff is super good but the rooms are meh. It's a good chunk to pay for a mid line room. Bar/restaurant is over priced. Go to Sluggos for food or drink. The heater/AC is on a sensor and will turn off within 20 minutes of leaving the room. I would recommend if you stay here not to be on the 6th floor if it's hot outside.

Hotel not difficult to find. Much street construction nearby. Liked the fact we all felt our vehicles were safe at night in this light-industrial area. Good freeway access. Restaurants nearby. Had especially good experience at a family-owned/operated Cafe/1890 Tea house (the "Olive Branch")where service and ambience were amazing.

This is a nice, clean, conveniently located hotel. Though it seems as though it is in "no man's land", you actually have a lot of amenities within walking distance and at the hotel. For example, the cool Freighthouse Square with shops and food stalls is just steps away. The light rail, Amtrak and main bus stops are also within an 8 minute walk. If you like a longer trek, you can walk downtown in 15 or 20 minutes or take the trolley which stops two streets below the hotel.
Overall, although this is somewhat of a budget hotel, they provide a superior breakfast (I especially appreciated the omelet station and the non-dairy milk provided), very clean and nice rooms, a fitness room (though it's tiny) and a great location!

The hotel seemed nice as we checked in, although a bit shabby on the outside and it s definitely past its prime. I got a pretty good price, so I was willing to overlook these cosmetic issues. Unfortunately, during the evening of my stay the fire alarm went off not once, but twice. It s bad enough having to evacuate down 5 flights of stairs into a cold December night, but having to do it twice was really awful. The staff were almost non-existent during these fire alarms and did nothing to calm or comfort the guests. When I did see the staff, they not once apologized for the inconvenience caused by the alarms. We asked during checkout about some compensation for restless night and were told a manager would call us later this week. I guess we ll see if they are any more apologetic.

Terribly loud. Toilet kept flushing all night. Vending machines in the hall are so loud icould hear with the tv on. Every once in awhile they would also emit a high pitch noise that would get me out of bed wondering if it were an alarm of some sort. Front desk was off little too no help.

We really enjoyed our visit here recently. The breakfast especially stood out as fresh (you can see them cooking it as you walk in the cafe area). The room was clean and the TV seemed pretty new.

BED BUGS! Brought evidence to front desk. Moved rooms- slept miserably on TOP of covers. I was handed a bill at checkout saying my room couldn't be free unless manager approved. I wrote manager a note over 48 hours ago!!! I've called more than 3X - manager Jay call me back. I am a Best Western Rewards member and they will be made aware of this ridiculous lack of service, remedy and follow up. I will not be paying. There is doubt the room was even double-checked after I left. DISGUSTING

Not a fan, and I will not stay there again unless certian changes are made. The only thing that makes this place good is the staff. Especially the front desk employees. They are working below there station. The hotel itself is in need of renovating. Although it's clean, there are obvious issues with the plumbing and furniture in the rooms. They really need to improve the WiFi also. Very weak and would hinder business travelers or students that need to complete work or projects while traveling.

Room smelled like pot, restaraunt food was terrible, and free breakfast was inedible. Parking lots had 'park at your own risk' signs, and there were no disabled spaces available. Hotel is in a bad part of town, surrounded by homeless camps.

We stay at Best Westerns all along the west coast quite often and are platinum rewards members. Our usual BW was booked up last weekend so we chose to stay at this one. First off, check in took about 40 minutes of waiting. I have never waited this long. We were also given meal tickets that we had to fill out to prove who we were at breakfast. When we got to our room, It was unbelievable how nasty it was. Stains everywhere that I had to tell my toddler not to crawl on. Rips in curtains, old mattresses, dirty doors, blood spatter on bathroom wall. When I called to let Lynn at the front desk know about the condition of the room, my husband (who was in the lobby at the time) witnessed her rolling her eyes while talking to me on the phone which is no surprise due to tone of annoyance. Couldn't take a bath because the drain wouldn't stop and they had no way of fixing it according to maintenance. When I complained about the room at check out, the other front desk lady threw Lynn under the bus and told me to report her because she's had other complaints about her. No integrity, no professionalism. Oh...and did I mention that the local police showed up as we were leaving? Never staying at this hotel again.

Check in took a long time, when we arrived no one was at the desk, ourselves and several others were waiting to check in, finally one staff member arrived and she the called for another person to help out. We had a confirmation for a two queen bed room, and we're told none was available and they we're going to upgrade is to a suite, but the suite only had a long bed and a foldout bed, we are two grown men, that is why we had reserved the two queen beds. When we got to the room we found that the gold out didn't have pillows, when we called the front desk to ask for pillows housekeeping brought us towels and then told us there was no pillows available. I went to the front desk and complained and they found some finally.
The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast, the omelet bar was excellent.

This hotel is way overpriced. The only good thing is the location if you are going to an event at the Tacoma Dome. There was no a/ c down stairs, only a limited menu of basic greasy food, no room service, and the bar had 6 tables but no chairs. Plus 3 of the pillows had other people's has stuck to them when we entered the room. They could al least change the pillow cases for $250 per night.

Nice Hotel, Comfortable bed and they were very nice when I asked for a late checkout. Great location for events at the Tacoma Dome. Walk across the parking lot and youre there. The bar inside the hotel is great too. Cheap drinks poured strong.

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. It's within walking distance of the Tacoma Dome, and that is the only good thing I can say. The price of the room was unreasonably high, parking is limited, they didn't tell us that the restaurant only serves a sad buffet on event nights, and the lounge was closed when we returned (10:30 on a Satuarday night...are you kidding?). Won't even consider staying here again.

It smells like cigarette smoke and there are cigarette butts in the halls. As well a french fries and a bagel. The place doesn t look like it has been vacuumed in weeks.

The elevator is broken and we are on the 6th floor.

Super unfriendly front desk staff.
Honestly I think the Motel 6 is nicer than this.

Beds clean, bathroom clean. Carpet is disgusting, my bare feet stuck to various spots. My debit card was stopped by my bank while I was traveling, and management handled the issue extremely unprofessionally. Would never recommend.

Excellent staff. They work hard. The hotel itself is in disrepair. Beds uncomfortable. Elevator 2 out of order. Heat was on so high on rooms and upper floors, you'd become red faced just walking to your room. Red flag/ when you drive up to a hotel and see. Lot of windows open.

There is a sewer smell ( gross) that hits your nostrils. Probably wouldn't stay there again.
Lights from the parking lot point up and hit our room- 3 rd floor.

Stayed one night in a basic room. The room was standard with a very comfy bed. Tacoma is easy to get anywhere in 10 min. The price was great. Continental breakfast in the morning was also excellent.

Let me be fair in my review as I didn't particularly care for the area this Best Westrn Plus is located in. There is a train that comes by in the morning that is annoying, but that is not the fault of the Hotel. There is also construction on the surrounding streets which made it a bit difficult to find with my GPS, also not a fault of the hotel. It is adjacent to the Tacoma Dome and the Car museum, both in walking distance and the security is very good. I could see from my 6th floor room the hospital I was going to visit and being close was a plus. I'm a late riser so missed breakfast but did use the lounge later in the evening and it was safe and Justin was a pleasure to chat with. If I was going to visit the car museum or attend a function at the Tacoma Dome, this would be where I would stay.

This hotel seemed to be in a decent location. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. However, one of our guys had their clothes stolen from the guest laundry. Also, one guy went to his room and someone was in it arguing behind the door. He went to the front desk and told them. It turned out to be the manager and he said not to give that room or any room next to it out. It was very sketchy.

Ever since this hotel was renovated a few years ago it has been a favorite place to stay. It has nice furniture and a comfortable bed. You can count on the good quality through and through. All the basics you would want in a business overnight stay. In the evening I can relax and catch the game on a big flat screen TV or use the reliable wifi in my room. The breakfast is always hot and traditional hot breakfast selections. I will be back next time I stay in Tacoma ;-)

I stayed 5 nights on a business trip. The bed was comfy, the room was clean, there was good wifi connection and plenty of TV channels to choose from. I never had trouble with parking. The best part of my experience was the breakfast and lounge/bar staff and their accommodations. They were extremely friendly and the hotel provided everything I could ask for.

I stayed at this hotel for a single night in the middle of a long road trip. Amenities were nice, clean, and comfortable; everything that you would expect as a paying customer. I also forgot to pack a toothbrush for that night and got a complimentary one at the front desk, which was cool.

I really love staying at this hotel. Lovely breakfast omelette bar and the staff is helpful. The only downfall would be the outrageous prices they come up worth near and on events at the dome. Like one time I call to book and the cheapest room was 400 dollars for one night stay just because of the event next door. Ridiculous. I'll be back later when it's a reasonable price for a single mother, College student. 400 is my Bills for the month.

We paid $250 for the room and basically the whole hotel had barely any air condition. We asked 3 workers about the air and got 3 different answers. It never improved our entire stay and it was 90 out.
Very disappointed.

Not as bad as some of these reviews make it sound. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The area is crappy but across the street I had a good meal. Can't remember the name but it's the only one really close to the hotel.

In a challenged week, plagued by elevator mishaps and a diffident health inspector, CANDY of Tacomadome saved the day by acting like a real Concierge. Time and again she came up with a solution. I only expect people to do what she did in Europe, but this was the U.S. of A!!

Nice rooms with two queen beds. Area was quiet. We had a late supper in their restaurant which was good. Food prices were not bad and service was very good. Next morning we had a complementary breakfast with a great selection including waffles and eggs. Parking was full but we parked in a back parking area.

Stayed at the Best Western for Freaknight 2016. The rooms were clean, breakfast was ready to go early and they had everything. You cannot beat it's location for attending any event at the Tacoma Dome, 2 minute walk to the event entrance!

The hotel itself seemed pretty nice, well maintained, and had a nice atmosphere. I got the a coconut prawns and fish and chips from the in lobby restaurant and the coconut prawns were to die for! However, I would strongly suggest staying away from the fish and chips. The bar is pretty nice as well.

lately I ve had to travel frequently to the Seattle/Tacoma and have stayed in several different hotels throughout my visits, recently I booked a last minute trip to Seattle and mistakenly reserved a room at the Tacoma dome best western instead of the federal way location. I arrived late evening and was not happy about the location of the hotel (sketchy) I was having a rough and stressful few days and what made it worst was the front desk service was terrible aside from the outdated rooms. I stepped into the bar lounge located in the hotel and as I sat there in frustration waiting for a response back from the front desk about my reservation the bartender (Ana) took my order as she noticed my frustration she had a happy uplifting personality And very hard-working as I ve seen her take several people s orders going back and forth with it their drinks as I looked around I seen that everybody in that bar was well served and did not see the typical person with his hand out waiting to get service to be served as she was very attentive and I thought to myself if only they train the rest of their staff to be more understanding of peoples time and needs with a quick response To deliver a good customer She understood what the customer wanted and needed and even worth it didn t know what they wanted she would give great Suggestions as she did for me Needless to say that what could ve potentially In a horrible stay Turned into it s good one because of all staff member. Good Job Ana!

This place was satisfactory for a roof over head. The good.....bed was ok. It had a restaurant/bar. The bad..... the curtains were terribly dirty. Kinda disgusting. The toilet didn't want to flush right. The hot water for the shower didn't last long. There was no cold water out of the sink. The bed covers were thin. If you can handle all that then it will be good for you.
