Family stayed last night. Unmanned front desk. Concierge was in the bathroom while guests arrived when he finally showed up, he was......... Disconnected. Dirty food plates outside of door across hallway for almost 20hrs. Messed up my dinner. Couch pillows inside pillowcases. Bartender was nice. (I didnt drink but spent almost an hour waiting for my food so, we had time to chit chat.) It was however affordable.

The Best Western at the Tacoma dome is excellent. Rims are extremely clean and comfortable. High ceilings in the rooms makes the rooms feel extremely spacious. Great location and easy access to downtown round out the bonuses for me at the hotel though there are definitely more.
Wi-Fi was a little spotty on the sixth floor but the hospital rate for my surgery made the choice a no brainer.
I ve NEVER had a good experience with this hotel! They cancelled our reservation and we NEVER got an email and Priceline said it was still active on their end. They were then sold out and we were stranded and of course had to wait for the refund from Priceline to go through so we were out a TON of money before it could settle down. Doesn t help when you need the money. They were rude and again would NEVER answer their phone! Not worth it to be next to the Tacoma Dome in my option. There are nicer hotels within walking distance as well.
The facility was nice and close to the dome which made attending an event very worthwhile. The staff was not helpful as to other things to do in the area. We were there Nov 25th and no signs of Christmas decor..I found that disappointing.
We needed a hotel close to family so we chose this hotel. Very clean, accommodating staff and a lovely breakfast. The gym was fabulous. We ordered room service and we're very happy with our meal. All in all a great choice and no issues. We even found a couple great eateries within walking distance. Well be back....check them out!
I have given 2 negative reviews in my life... It's time for a 3rd! The ONLY reason anyone would stay in this dump is for the convenience. if there is an event or concert at the Tacoma Dome, the idea of not driving is responsible and makes for a care free night! ...yeah, I wish. The lobby bathroom had no toilet paper and trash spread all over. It started with a broken door. We were checked in and leaving for the concert, but when we opened the door, it jammed open and would not shut. We were instantly accused of breaking it and they argued that our room was functional upon check in. No it was not! And now they said that we couldn't stay in there because the room is unsafe and they are sold out so we had to be shuttled after the concert to a sister hotel that over 10 miles away. We missed 3 shuttles because the concert crowd took up 2 of them. We were literally outside for 3 hours and then hauled to the other hotel with a promised pick up in the morning. We were now separated in different rooms but still made it to the lobby by 7:50am to make the first shuttle that started at 8. Well the front desk knew nothing about the arrangement and said they were booked until noon. I paid 43.00 to uber back to Tacoma to get my car. During check out, they were still accusing us of breaking the door, but agreed to give me 50% off the room. NOPE. The full amount was charged and they gave me a fake receipt. They also charged the wrong credit card. When I asked who the manager was, I was given just an "operations" email and name. It's been 5 days and no response to resolve any of this. We are beyond exhausted. They ruined our trip. We never received an apology either. Sad sad business owners. UPDATE: they have refunded $341 of the $548. This is not justice, but it means that they read my emails or my reviews and acted at least. I'm happier with it now.
The Hotel Was An Excellent Price, Clean, Stylish And Professional. It Was Simple, Yet Elegant. They Serve A Breakfast Which Is Great For Anyone With A Hangover!
This large hotel is located directly behind the Tacoma Dome. The rooms are adequate, and I particularly enjoyed the Seasons Lounge and it's spacious bar area.
Terrible check in at 3p did not get a room till 430-5p 1 of 3 rooms asked for a manager said no manager was here didn't get a call when rooms were ready. I would not recommend this kind of service to anyone my sister brother-in-law my husband and my self are elders this should not be allowed. Hopefully your manager and staff can better the service here.
We would be pleased to stay in this Best Western Hotel again. The service was friendly and efficient, and amenities were as expected. The buffet dinner for our group of about 50 was enjoyable, the buffet breakfast offered several hot choices, including made to order omelets. It is also within walking distance to the LeMay America's Car Museum.
The hotel is right next to the Dome in an otherwise very ugly and industrial area. The hotel is already quite worn, the room floors wavy, the equipment has seen better days and is stale. The view from the window is sad. For the money that is required for the rooms you can book in comparable chains significantly better facilities. There are no amenities such. B. A pool or spa. Conclusion: sobering bad. I will not check in here again.
I hugely bungled a reservation here and the courteous staff helped me sort it all out from a remote location, saved me time and money and were super nice about it. As a rule I don't post reviews, but throwing one down here to call out the above and beyond customer service I received. Thanks!
Bad service, small room, uncomfortable bed and bad location. I will never go back. The guy at the desk was sick and wiping his nose with his hand and handing out key cards after. He was rude and not helpful at all. My company made a mistake when reserving my room..put me in a handicap room. I asked for a regular room and he informed me I had to pay extra..that's just the way it is. When I complained about my stay upon leaving they asked what card to charge for my room change. I will never stray from the Hampton again. If you don't like your room they accomadate you for no charge!!!!!
The staff is really nice and the in site restaurant has good food with decent pricing. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. I've stayed here several times and it's consistently good. I would recommend it to anyone having to Tacoma and the dome is literally right next door.
It is a pretty decent hotel, however during my stay one of the elevators was out, which was pretty inconvenient because the stair way is at the other end of the building and I had to use it a few times because of the slow elevators. Other than that the hotel is pretty good, good omlets for breakfast and nice beds.
Corporate rates were very fair. They unfortunately missed my reservation that was made 3 months prior but lucky had a room available. The rooms were very clean. My room never really got warm but it worked. Breakfast was mediocre. The restaurant was not open which was a little confusing with the meal tickets.
Absolutely disgusting service. These pathetic excuses for employees don't even deserve 1 star. They deserve a review worth less than nothing. I drove several hours up to Tacoma only to recieve my room key and find feces and vomit in the bathroom, along with clothes and sheets strewn across the bedroom.
Apparently, paying in advance for your room doesn't mean its reserved since the ignorant and pathetic excuse for a stuff gave my room up to someone who wasn't me. As if they couldn't make any more errors, they went and took a second card of mine and double charged me. They left me with no place to sleep due to their ignorance, and stranded due to no cash after they double charged me. Such a shameful and grotesque experience. Get rid of the front staff, and find people with at least half a brain, because trust me, anyone can do a better job than the ladies present on July 20th.
Hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing. The place looks like it's still stuck in the 90's. The bed was horribly hard. However, that being said, the food and staff there were lovely, so this review should not speak ill of them, rather the building itself.
Customer garages, centered near the water, and quiet. No pool :( but easy access to the dome and car museum can't see the famous view of the mountain but you are by ocean/bracish water...city is desolate at night except massive amounts of homeless. YMCA is down the road a few blocks...kind of a sad site when it's kind of a "workers town" but so many jobless folks..
My vehicle was broken into while parked in the hotels garage over night. I made a report with the front desk and asked them if they had any security cameras in the garage area, the reply that I got back was "no" even though I saw the cameras for myself. I never received a phone call back from hotel management asking if I was okay or if I needed any assistance with anything.
To top that, my room was very dirty (stains on carpet), cracked window, and the fitness center was disgusting. I even wrote the GM an email explaining my experience with the break in and with the room, have yet to hear back. Very disappointed.
I enjoyed the staff a lot, Fernando answered all my questions really well and the front desk supervisor Jay was really funny. When I called down to the desk about extra blankets and how to get on the wifi they were very prompt and helpful. The chief in the kitchen that night made a Cajun chicken penne pasta that was really good. Room was okay and parking was okay. Oh and the breakfast was awesome I like putting the gravy on my eggs.
Location has easy access to freeways. Walmart and Target located 5-10 minutes awatpy. Location has bars restaurants walking distance, hotel appears dated from outside but is significantly more pleasant inside. Staff friendly. Parking garage closes at 1030 pm , and you do have to park in the unsecured lot behind the hotel after hours. Rooms clean. Good breakfast.
Over-priced considering there was no available room service and the lounge/bar was closed after the concert. The bed was hard and lumpy. I'll be staying someplace else and catching a ride to the dome.
The only things this hotel has going for it is great employees and location. Other than that they are lacking on basic things like good food, hot water, and a clean room.
Worst hotel experience ever. No ac, hotel and rooms were so hot that we sweated all night. Ice machines broken. Ordered food, they brought us the wrong food and had to reorder. Then brought us the wrong drinks. Front desk staff wasn't helpful or friendly. In the morning went for breakfast, food trays were empty and tables were not cleared. TV in our room was so dark you could hardly see it. Not enough bathroom shelves we had to use the toilet to store our stuff. Paid $355.00 way over priced. The only good thing about that hotel is its close to the dome.
Needed to take plugged air filter out of heater in order to bring room up to temperature. and in order to get room to be comfortable thermostat had to be set above 80*
I stay here twice a year for the rv show. The bartender there now is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. He snaps at you. I am literally sitting across the street right now ordering food and drinks at sluggos and can count 9 people that were waiting for service at that bar but left with no attention. They lose hundreds of dollars hourly with this guy.
Older Very clean rooms, excellent lobby but noisy streets. Next door to Amtrak station. Night Desk clerk was rude, like she was be bothered during check-in. Maid service was very good. Old part of the neighborhood.
We stay at this hotel because of the convenience of it's location to the Tacoma Dome. We stay every year during the WA State wrestling tournament. Clean, nice rooms and friendly staff. Nothing fancy but not run down either.
Location isn't great (long walk to Restaurants, dome produces a lot of noise), rooms are very nice and the lobby is clean and spacious. Standard fare for breakfast plus an omlette bar.
This hotel is so nice and the price you can't beat. The rooms are really comfortable and you even get a GREAT breakfast. The staff is wonderful and you won"t regret your stay.
I reported to the front desk staff that the air conditioning in my room was not working. It wasnt fixed. It was 90 degrees that day. The hotel had a potent smell. The halls were very warm. Staff argued in front of a large line of customers (myself included) over taking a break. One staff wa inappropriately dressed for her line of work. And the parking was terrifying. I mentioned I was a reward member but was not offered free water or any member benefits. Positive side, good was decent, security guard was nice.
I have stayed here several times for Business. It is a clean, well maintained Hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful and treat you as a valued customer
Great experience. Excellent food and staff. Rooms were nice but beds a little harder than like but survived. The price was great. Best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. Our stay wasn't pleasure due to family member in hospital. Would've loved to came earlier to enjoy more. Next time will be pleasure.
I would rate this as a zero if I could. I went into the hotel and there was one person working there we were waiting for are room and the worker was on the phone saying if she doesn t get money tomorrow she just won t come into work the next day. We walk into are room which is supposed to be a king bed and a pull out in the couch, the pull out was so small two people could not fit on it a person had to sleep out on a cot. So the next day comes and the ceiling was leaking and the tiles were falling down. The elevators took 20 min to get up to us cause we were on the top floor and we got stuck in the elevator 3 times they had to pull open the doors to get us out and we had to jump up to the 2nd floor. The breakfast was gross and the food was gone and was being served cold I was dissatisfied. The rooms smelled nasty. We were supposed to get the room for 180 a night but they charged us for 200 a night which was wrong and my mom had the recient but the lady is like there s nothing I can do to help you. She told people to be more careful and it s there fault they are slipping on the ice when it s not it s the hotels job to make sure it s safe for people. So plz don t ever go to this hotel they did nothing about how bad are stay was nothing also there was poop smeared all over the bathroom toilets like ewwwww and there was puke on the treadmill
Hotel was good. Tacoma busy as ever, that was to be expected. Tacoma dome? Those people need to get their act together. Not enough parking. Doors are open, they will let you in with a ticket but sorry, wrong color or general admission or something so you have to walk around. No communication, no advertising, you are just supposed to know, I guess.
Let me start by saying I am a rewards member with BestWestern. I have always had fantastic experiences leading me to become a reward member and solely giving BW my business when it came to nights away from home. (Approx 2-4 every other month up to 2 weeks) This was my first visit to the TacomaDome hotel of BestWestern Plus. I made my reservation via phone (first time doing so) and said I had noticed the king suite w/jacuzzi tub available at this location. So I wanted to reserve it. The woman was pleasant and made my reservation. Thrilled to spend the weekend alone with my husband (much needed R&R). Today, the day we traveled to the hotel, I noticed a voice message- left the night before after 10pm. (strange. Didn't see it until now. Stupid phone) It was a man calling from the Best Western saying "something was wrong with my reservation" (great, I leave in 30 minutes, what happened!?) So I immediately called and spoke with the gal at the front desk. I told her I was concerned regarding the voice message and wanted to assure before I made my 3 hour drive (almost 5 because traffic was bad) that I had a king bed with the jacuzzi tub. She put me on a brief hold then said nothing had changed except the room number because the original room was needing maintenance. I asked again if I was still in a suite with a jacuzzi tube and she said yes. (Perfect! Because that is the whole reason I chose this room) My husband and I arrived at 6:30 PM. Got all checked in, received our goodie bag for being a valued platinum member (popcorn, yummy!) And went on our way to our room. We arrived at our room shortly after (check in took less than 5 minutes- awesome!!) And to my disappointment, NO JACUZZI TUB. "What in the world" I thought. Frustrated and trying to remain calm thinking perhaps this was a minor mistake I called the front desk. The front desk clerk apologized repeatedly and told me she was calling her manager right away to get this resolved quickly. Guess what? I've now been waiting over an hour, sitting by the phone waiting on a call to switch (hopefully!!) Rooms. However, she did inform me that the room I reserved is not available(seriously!!)
What upsets me more is there was 2 other best westerns available that had the jacuzzi tubs available when I made my reservation. I chose this hotel based on a nearby relative that I plan on visiting... had I known how horribly this trip would go I would have never chose this location.
Here it is, almost 8pm, neither of us have had dinner yet, but we have to wait to figure out what the hell is going on. Apparently I jinxed our trip as I was raving my pleasure with the chain to a coworker and how I LOVE staying at BW... congratulations Best Western. In one trip you've completely ruined my love for your chain. I will no longer reccomend you to my family, friends or clients.
To make matters worse, after this long wait, I decided to use the restroom and guess what? poop smeared on the toilet seat!! absolutely disgusting! The manager told the front desk clerk to offer me a free meal from their restaurant for my troubles. really? you want to pay for my $12 sand which..... not good enough.
the gal at the front desk is extremely friendly, her boss/manager on the other hand needs to be replaced!
Update: I called Monday morning, Dec 17th, 2018 to speak to the manager I was assured by not one, but two employees that he would be in. What do you know? He still isn't in. They have no intention on fixing their problem. What upsets me more is the fact that I was willing to travel into Seattle to stay at another location so I could have the room I wanted (and was paying for) but they kept giving me the run around and false hope that they would fix their poor service.
I enjoyed my stay at The Best Western Tacoma Dome Hotel. The room was very clean and smelled fresh (you can tell the rooms are actually cleaned between guests). The furniture and television were updated and seemed to be well cared for. Bathroom had updated granite countertops and a large mirror which was quite classy looking. The view of the city was absolutely amazing especially since my room was on the 6th floor. Complimentary breakfast was offered along with use of many amenities. The hotel features a full restaurant and lounge which is very convenient. Lobby is very classy and presentable upon waking into the building. Staff are very professional and dress very nicely. Parking was free along with my reservation, which was nice. Checkout was at noon which was nice instead of the typical 11am, and staff actually granted me an hour extension to my check out time with no hesitation which was convenient for me. The location of the hotel was nice as well. The only issue I had was that I had a poor WiFi signal on the 6th floor and wasn't successful even one time connection to the internet in. Other than that, I have no complaints and the price was excellent considering the abundance of guest services/amenities/room choice and quality. They even offer discounts for AAA members. Recommend this hotel over other's I've booked in the area and will definitely book here in the future.
Very disappointed, I told the lady in the front desk that my a/c doesn't work and her response was "you can come and get my fan". Really? I travel for work and 90% every 4 days I am in a different hotel. I have never ever recieved an answer like that before. The least she could had offer was to find me a different room, she didn't even said that she will let the maintenance crew know. It's been blowing all afternoon and evening but it is not cold air. It is cooler outside than it is in my room.
Decent hotel for reasonable cost. Has status match with other hotels for rewards. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast, decent restaurant/lounge. I would highly recommend if going to Tacoma Dome as it sits next to parking lot. Ask for a room on the side that faces the water. Great view.
The rooms are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. Has a nice spread for breakfast. For vegetarians the dinners not so hot. Unless you like salad and flatbread.
