It was a fun trip to Ben and Jerry's to learn a little bit of their history. Fun tour for fans of the company but dropping by at the store or souvenir shop and having ice cream would be enough.
It was a fun trip to Ben and Jerry's to learn a little bit of their history. Fun tour for fans of the company but dropping by at the store or souvenir shop and having ice cream would be enough.
The tour was fun and informative. It's really neat to see the process of how it's made. My only complaint might be that a large part of the tour seemed to be the sit-down video of the history of Ben and Jerry. The actual walking part of the tour seemed to take about 5-7 minutes. I'd recommend a visit.
Chocolate therapy milkshake is cheaper than real therapy and tastes much better.
I thought the tour was kind of boring and the flavor grave yard was underwhelming. The gift shop didn't have anything good and the tiny sample you get at the end of the tour made the whole thing a waste of time.
A great place to spend a few hours! Who doesn't love Been & Jerrys
If you love ice cream or are an occasional ice cream eater, this is one of those go-to places. The ice cream is fresh, super delicious and you d be spoilt for choices.
We visited this place during this ongoing pandemic and there a few changes. The factory tours are closed. There s COVID precautions in place like face coverings and 6 feet distance while in the queue and there are these barcodes to help you look at the flavor offerings and order while you re in the queue.
They have a ton of offerings from your typical ice cream to frozen yogurt, non dairy and sorbet. The flavors are delicious. There are two options- small(2 scoops) and large(3 scoops). There s a ton to choose from and they are all fresh and flavorful. You d be doing the ice cream a disservice if you don t get the waffle cone with it. I had a party of 9 and we all had different flavors and they were all yum!
One more thing to note, once you re done with your order and you get your ice cream, there s no seating space for you to sit and eat. You ll have to walk around and that s what we did and we stumbled upon this flavor graveyard which is just a few minutes away. You d be able to pay respects to the discontinued flavors here :D You d be surprised to see some of the flavors out there in the graveyard and who knows, you might stumble upon a flavor which you liked is now retired.
There s lots of places to click photos around. I d recommend this place to anyone who s had eaten ice cream at least once in their life and give this place a try.
The factory tour was really underwhelming. I learned nothing new or noteworthy about the ice cream making process. The short film at the start of the tour was interesting and the only part of the tour that I enjoyed. It chronicled the history of the mighty ice cream empire and their beloved and progressive-minded founders. So great to see Misters Ben and Jerry using their influence to advocate for human rights and equality.
There's really not much to see or do after the tour, other than buying some ice cream or souvenirs at the gift shop. We were here for just an hour.
Like a visit to the Holy land but more fattening.
An entertaining stop if you're an ice cream junkie or just in the neighborhood looking for something to do. There's a tour of the factory and a little history about how a couple of hippies made a great business, joined Wall Street and were consumed by a giant multinational corporation.
They sell a ton of ice cream here so it's always fresh and you can taste the difference.
Easy in and out and there's even free charging station for your EV. hippie.
The tour was great
.the line to the scoop shop was very very long.ugh
But we enjoyed the tour
30 minutes short tour isn t that great, but, no complaints on the price ($4). You ve gotta wait in the long line to buy ice creams.
they do not close at 9. They close earlier than what they have posted online and on the doors 7:30 is more their closing time. It was okay though $4 not bad, it was a short tour with some babbling that wasn't too boring in my opinion. Flavor of the day was milk and cookies and it was delicious! The line for ice cream was pretty long...
Great ice cream. All the people crowding each other was terrible.
Entertaining and yummy! Tour guide was well prepared and welcoming!
A nice experience, not just for children who pass by here. The tour lasts an hour and is very well structured
Tour was fun and you can't go wrong with the ice cream !
If you are in the area, the short (30 min) tour of the Ben&Jerry factory is a great possibillity to have a break and enjoy some ice cream. Good for all ages
Enjoyed the tour and hospitality from a company that understands what is most important... our planet, caring for others, and a great product.
Definitely worth it... you get a generous sample, learn about the facilities & their interesting history. And you can buy ice cream with flavors that aren't sold in stores. <3 cherry garcia <3
Amazing history, along with a great tour, and the Flavor Graveyard is a must-see. The ice cream is top-notch, but what else would you expect from the flavor geniuses that brought you chocolate chip cookie dough?
Just way too many people, it was more fun to buy a Pint a the gas station down the road.
BEST ICE CREAM ON THE PLANETTTT!!!! Plus they have gluten-free and lactose-free options. Definitely worth the detour.
Tour was well worth the $4, and the information found around - outside around the playgrounds as well as inside the building - was fun!
This factory tour and the graveyard visit was very cool and informative. I definitely would do again. I might do the VIP experience next time.
We drove from Quebec and the visit was well worth! For $4 you get a fun tour around the factory machines which ends with a scoop of ice cream. There is a small souvenir shop inside and a flavor graveyard outside which is fun to visit
The tour is really not worth it for $ 8 per person. You get to see a short film and then you can look down from a glass corridor to the production and finally there is a small ice cream. Interesting yes - but that's it. Better to invest the money in ice cream in the B & J shop.
Fun to visit the flavor graveyard and have a tasting on tour. There is an ice cream shop to enjoy many flavors including a few of their non-dairy varieties - Yay!
A perfect family style activity is a tour of this factory. Don't miss the flavor graveyard out back, or buying a sample of the most delicious ice cream in the world.
Great for families with young children! Its 4$ per person and free for children 12 and younger - they do have a military discount which significantly drops the price. You are directed upstairs to watch an informational video and then across the hall to see part of the inside of the factory. Our tour guide (Ben T.) was very sweet and clearly had given his speech more than once. There were quite a few cow-based puns, but other than that the tour was both interesting and entertaining.
Interesting tours and a huge range of ice cream to try.
If you want too be political and put it as the first thing people see when they get there, expect those who don't agree with your views not to appreciate it.
I was on a road trip and was passing through. No one can just drive by without stopping in to this wonderful establishment. Indulge in their heavenly creations, take the tour and visit the gift shop. You will not be disappointed!
It's a good place to have some fun while learning about making ice cream. The got a flavour graveyard with gravestones for all the discontinued flavours. Read the markings they're great! You get a sample during the tour and after you can visit the scoop shop if you crave more.
Very clean and organized, we went recently and they were very prepared and cautious in following social distancing rules. They sanitize the counters in between customers constantly. The bathrooms were extra clean as well. We also enjoyed some flavors that are not sold in pints at supermarkets.
For $4 you get a history lesson on the beginnings of ben & Jerry's, a cool peek into how it's made, and a sample at the end.
it was awesome to know how to make ice cream thank you Ben and Jerry
A good time had by all. $4 for a 30 minute tour of their original factory, along with a free sample at the end.
Nice little tour with a sample of that days particular flavor. Great Ice cream, a little background on the company and the grounds are free to walk around and explore...of course you can sit outside and buy more ice cream in whatever configuration you want. Tour is only $4... Well worth a little diversion.
Lactose intolerant beware because B and Js is a serious ice cream lovers dream spot. In VT go and check out the home of the famous sweet treat.
A short $4 tour of the production facility. Nice your guides and great ice cream. Pretty busy though.
How can you not love this place? Ben & Jerry's is some of the best ice cream out there with awesomely unique flavors, at this location it's the freshest you could get.
Umm .... I love ice cream. I love Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Umm .... it's a tourist trap. The tour was 30 minutes and you see the machines ..... the price was $4.00 for an adult. Not much to say. Took us longer to park, wait for our tour and manage the sea of people. My family went because we were already in Vermont. If you have small children and need to kill an hour or two (lines to buy ice cream are insane) then go and judge for yourself. We opted to buy a pint at the grocery store instead of waiting. I gave it two stars because the sample at the end of the tour was Cherry Garcia. LOL By the way, the sample was about a tablespoon size. Don't expect Disney World and you'll be fine. LOL
Lots of fun, and not too expensive. I'd suggest giving this place a shot if you're in the area. You'll even walk away with some free ice cream.
Awesome place. This was in the flavor graveyard! Lol!
Tourist trap, manager Sam is rude, we were 2 minutes late she would not let us go on a tour. ( our kid is handicapped and we thought it would be the only place he could do in Vermont...). We called ahead and told them we would be there right at 5. Nobody cared... it is a very sad place in our mind since Sam did not really cared that we drove for two hours...we could not stay there for the last tour. After explaining this to Sam( she had no name tag and had no interest to discuss it) she just shook her shoulders and said next tour is available. So the 5 o clock tour shut the door in front of us!
Work on your customer service, be considerate and kind .....smile as it should be a happy place !
We will never come here again or buy this ice cream!
Stop in for a quick tour (every 15 minutes) & a taste
$4 tour for adults which lasted about 30 minutes and came with a generous (about a half scoop) sample. Be sure to check out the flavor graveyard, I couldn't believe some existed!
Great ice cream. Should have done the tour but didn't have time.
Very cool experience to visit this factory. The 4 stars are for the lack of tasting options at the end of the tour. There is only one flavor to sample and it seemed like there would be more.
Tour was ok except the long line and ac not working during the summer. It s an ice cream factory, should have functioning AC. Was not worth the wait
Ben & jerry's is such a great place and everyone is so freindly. Mickey in the ice cream stand was such a pleasure to deal with. Ice cream was better here then in the store. This was our first time here as my wife suprised me with this trip and i would recommend it to any ben and jerry fan.
Quite possibly the cleanest facility I've seen. Great job, staff
Nice place for a short tour that ends up with an ice cream ball.
It was so much fun. The ice cream at the end was great.
To crowded. Wasn't willing to stand in line that long for ice cream.
Tasty ice cream. The tour was fun, but would definitely be better during regular production hours. The equipment does not run during the tour on weekends or holidays.
Fun place to learn about the history of the company.
Tour is $4/adult, kids under 12 are free. The tour happens every half an hour (is 12:00, 12:30, 1:00 etc) and it takes approx 30 min. It does include a sample of their choosing. The sample is not huge, but not too small either. The tour guide Susan was very pleasant.
Gift shop and ice cream at the counter are expensive. Ice cream should be less expensive especially since they're producing it right there!
It's still a cool stop especially when coming back from Stowe.
One of the most fun and tasty tours. The ice cream graveyard was fun. Poor Wavy Gravy.
the ice cream was great and the line was not that bad. i will go here again when I am in town
Plenty to learn and see on the tour plus free ice cream at the end. Don't forget to visit the graveyard.
