Fantastic experience and a great, affordable place to bring the kids to get some interactive learning. There are multiple floors with tons of displays and lots to see and do. The highlight was the Kimball Theatre Organ, that demonstration should not be missed. The staff is also amazing too! There are plenty of clean washrooms as well, and it's a great place for school trips. Parking is streetside or pay lot. Definitely check this place out!

Fun place to go to if you are a fan of music. Most stands are interactive and fun to play with. Can go in a self guided tour as well as request a guide. Sometimes there are public demonstrations about certain unique instruments such as the organ, that interestingly enough is hooked up with a fully functional drum set controlled with keys. Definitely a place to stop by and admire, not only for its amazing architecture, but for all the fun activities that you can enjoy on your own as well as in a group. Highly recommended.

Went here with my wife on a whim and I couldn't have been happier with going. We did the guided tour which was very informative (and thankfully not overly long) where the guide gave us a great explanation of the space and exhibits, inspiring us to explore the museum on our own even further. Plenty of fun interactive attractions, as well as some interesting musical/historical pieces as well. I'd definitely recommend visiting here.

Beautiful building housing amazing stories, instruments and interactive exhibits. The pricing is also very good. There are no extra costs for more exhibits its just one flat fee per-person. Students were $14, which is what I paid, all you need is a student ID. We spent well over 2 hours in there looking at all 5 floors with well thought-out themes and exhibits. In the interactive ones, everything was explained in both French and English. Overall, really good place to go on the weekend if you're looking for something to do. Its cheap to get in, it's clean, its quiet and its quite fascinating (coming from someone who has never played an instrument before).

Wow! First, the building itself is absolutely amazing. You're compelled to look up, fantastic architecture. Second, the actual exhibits and presentations are second to none. Studio Bell has something for everyone, pop culture icons to historical instruments. Allow for several hours to truly experience the home of music.

Beautiful place to enjoy history and see exhibits. They have a great selection of interactive pieces that allows you to immerse yourself in music and art. The layout of the building is well designed. They have two stairwells going from the main floor to the 5th floor allowing easy access for a large number of guests. Depending on how slow you walk through the building you could easily spend 2-4 hours here.

The best musical experience I've had in regards to learning tons about our Canadian music icons and legends. From the minute you walk in you can tell this place just reeks of musical culture. If you can't appreciate the ubiquitous displays of musical heritage, then maybe you'd be in awe from the fabulous architecture that the building boasts not just on the inside but equally on the outside. From Kd Langs collection of stage attire, to Sarah McLachlan's Grammy up close and personal, still not enough, how about a piano that Sir Elton John played and signed. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Don't take my word for it check it out for yourself. Make sure that you put aside a good 2 and a half hours but don't worry it goes by fast if your taking it all in.

A must see stop for any appreciator of music. Beautiful architecture, live music, memorabilia, and pianos and exhibits for visitors to play at a reasonable entry fee. The only thing this museum lacks is a portion dedicated to local artists such as Chad VanGaalen and Feist.

I found the museum to be a little underwhelming with the exhibits and quite frankly a bit boring. The emphasis seemed to be more on the architecture of the building which is a ton of wasted space and seems to be an accoustic nightmare. Be prepared to pay just under $10 for parking, and what appears to be a side door to the building is actually the front door to the museum. It took me awhile of wandering around to figure out how to even get in. Definitely did not meet my expectations.

Would probably have given this a better review but more than half of the exhibits had audio issues or weren't working. Considering that this is a music venue, it really took away from the experience. No warning when paying for admission, either - just a sign on the stairs to the first exhibition floor apologizing.

Incredible experience here. This place will instill in you a great appreciation of Canadian musicianship. You will be surprised at how many of your favorite artists are Canadian! Great instrument collections, and a set for the public to try out. Nice coffee shop and gift shop that features local vendors. The building is an architectural masterpiece, and being inside is an all-around pleasant experience.

Wow! A very under-rated attraction. The variety and scope of Studio Bell is enormous. This is a hidden gem in the Calgary tourist landscape. There is something for everyone, young and old, and all types of music. The whole family enjoyed the afternoon at the NMC. Don't overlook this opportunity...you won't be disappointed.
