A very well designed and maintained music centre, lots of stuff to see, good for music playing children with lots of hands on instruments. Educational and relaxing. I think it was worth the ticket price.
Stunning! Oh this museum is a gem in the heart of downtown Calgary.
It's pretty nice but you don't get access to some of the exhibits with general admission, the staff aren't particularly helpful or friendly, I haven't heard of half the artists or bands featured, there's no parking, when you can find parking it's overpriced.
It's really not worth the admission. I literally would have rather spent $70 anywhere else.
I would rather just throw it into the wind than come back here.
Such a great space to just stroll through and enjoy!
Place is awesome. Fun to visit and read up on Canadian music legends.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, however there is a heavy emphasis on country in displays, which isn't my personal preference.
Interesting but slightly overpriced for the experience. Live performers might make a big difference.
This museum was so disappointing!! It is mostly interactive but either parents have no control of their children or people think it is a studio (not a museum) and you never get a chance to participate in the interactive piece of the museum.
I would not recommend this museum!
It was really cool to see music displayed in so many different ways. From the instruments to the costumes, to reading and listening material.
There are all kinds of instruments and interactive rooms. Very large, beautiful architecture
So huge. My favourite part was walking through Sarah Mclachlin's exhibit. Sound travels up and down that stairwell crystal clear. It's crazy.
Beautiful architecture. Didn't get to explore all levels but the 2 floors I saw had interesting exhibits. Great venue space for events.
Best party I had been to in a long time. Excellent service and really good food gets you in a mood as you set a foot in a doors.
Maybe I just missed something, but in spite of the stunning architecture and the interesting exhibits this place is screaming for some artists-in-residence. Regular chances to see Canadian talent working live would probably make this one of the top attractions in Alberta. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't even seem to know it's there. Limiting the studio tour to one afternoon a week is disappointing too.
Absolutely stunning collection of instruments and gear to see on the Behind The Scenes tour. Main museum is definitely worth it as well. Definitely not to be missed for any music fan or musician.
Nice site ti visit, I think this is awonderful place to know about music and other things, Interesting place!!!
Good for school trips and fancy get togethers/Christmas parties, amazing staff but if you're there for the history idk if it's worth the $15
I was really impressed with this museum. I have been to Xperience Music Project in Seattle and Studio Bell is way way better. Awesome to see so many Canadian musicians celebrated. Also be sure to check out the silent movie organ demonstration, it really is something special.
$18 tour but worth it. Very informative guide. Stayed for performance on organ. Enjoyed it!
Went to the music museum, and saw an amateur concert while I was there. It was a really amazing experience. Got to see in trumpets and mixers used by famous musicians like Elton John, or Bare naked ladies.
Would certainly recommend.
Stunning architecture. Check it out and then go across the street to King Eddy!
Great space for architecture and interactive exhibits. I also quite enjoyed the adult nights with live band karaoke and a bunch of other activities.
Amazing experience, beautiful architecture, and that rosso coffee is . But this is where I got my heart broke too but that's okay
Lots to do and instruments to play. Most of the instruments have instructions with them.
Also not sure who their janitor is but the place is very clean.
This place is amazing. I am super impressed by the architecture, exhibits, and amount of fun.
A very interesting place. Lots of instruments to try, such as a xylophone, ukulele, banging sticks, and pianos. They really focus on Canadian music and artists so prepare for a lot of that. I feel like it could've been a bit more interactive, but still had fun. I went during the $10 Tuesday date night admission so me and SO got our money's worth, but probably won't return until there are more exhibits or something because we were more interested in the instruments than artists.
A fascinating overview of music in Canada presented in a variety of ways.
Fantastic museum. Great collection of famous instruments. Incredible interior architecture.
Will get even better as they restore more of the collection that they were able to save from the flood a couple years ago
Good - would like a few more interactive displays for the price
Beautiful architecture, experience and it just enhanced my love of music!
Great museum, something for everyone with some focus of Canadian musicians
You could easily spend the day in this big, beautiful building. It's so full of things and knowledge and everything Canadian music. There's a coffee shop adjacent too which is nice. Take the c-train and enjoy!
A must see for anyone interested in music. Very good exhibits and information.
A fabulous new building for the arts in Calgary. A Canadian Music History museum.
Amazing building, the architecture is fantastic. Had a deal to get in. They had a lot of extra things going on and 4 floors of exhibits to walk through. Seems like a great place to visit. The best part though was the building, very unique and interesting inside and out
its not worthy to visit as there are not many instruments inside the studio.its not worthy to pay $18 to get in.
This venue was Fabulous! So many interesting facts, interactive displays. You could spend a couple days in here. Loved it!!!
Great music, great atmosphere, interesting exhibits
Amazing architecture and unique pieces of musical memorabilia
A must see on your next visit to Calgary! The building by itself is a work of art, and the displays are brilliant, spacious and interactive. Canada has an incredible history of talented musicians and this is a wonderful show case.
This place is full of music. If anyone wants to know about the history of Canadian music, this is where they should visit.
A very cool museum! It is certainly worth checking out if you are interested in music or any music history. There is a great collection of instruments here, and the building itself is beautiful, it's a great time to explore it.
Interactive exhibits were fun... Content wasn't very interesting
A neat place for people interested in music and Canadian music history. Quite a few things to do and for sure watch the Kimball theatre organ show, very entertaining.
Amazing place. We came for one of the "after hours" nights and it was like a house party with music exhibits!
Nice place ,where you can try different musical instruments, and to see a lot of interesting historical music facts .
I finally managed to visit the National Music Centre and I have to say the space is amazing. They ve put so much work into the building and it looks beautiful. There s 5 floors and each one is dedicated to a different aspect of music history. From the pioneers of Canadian music to the instruments and even the production equipment used to create it. I would strongly suggest that if you haven t come here to visit.
Amazing place with beautiful exhibits and history. Museum entry cost is a little pricy, but worth it if you have any interest in music. Unfortunately many of the Guitar and Piano set ups on the 3rd and 4th floors weren't working and having public jam areas would be nice. Overall a great museum.
First time here. Very excited learn history of music and how they are made.
Nice collection, after hours is an added bonus with membership
Must visit this place if you like music. Rich historical Info . Can try to play various instrument.
Studio Bell is great. Everyone found something they thought was cool. The theremin is super interesting, and if you love music you should definitely check it out.
Awesome working studio and museum all in one. Definitely recommend to any Canadian music lover.
So much fun. It's interactive informative and just plain interesting. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
I highly recommend visiting this museum. It s entertaining and beautiful.
As a lover of music studio bell is amazing, I finally got to play a baby grand. Listening to the organ being played was awesome.
I want to give it 7 out of 5 stars. Super cool architecture and some amazing exhibits. This is a "can't miss" diamond in Calgary's crown.
Interesting and beautiful building, informative about Canadian music and artists. Fascinating instruments you might not see anywhere else- I got to try a theramin! It s like the Science Centre in Toronto but very doable in a few hours. Just felt there could be more live performances, and a more in-depth look at some things, but very enjoyable.
I spent 2.5 gifts hours here to go through the entire exhibit. It's well worth the money! Beautiful building, and really good exhibits. I found it very educating especially learning about Canadian artists and music.
