Pizza is pretty good, not the best I have ever had but no the worst. I hadn't been to Beau Jo's for some years and probably will not be back even though I am a local. The reason for giving it 2 stars rather than 1 is because the pizza is decent and the young lady that helped me was nice. The reason for not giving it more stars is because the prices are simply offensive. I ordered a to go single pizza and expected when I arrived to pay between $20 - $30, I figured it would be a little more being a gourmet pizza joint. I was not given a price when I ordered so it was a surprise when I arrived. The single pizza came to $50 when I arrived, that seems a little crazy. I would have left but I already committed to purchase the pie so I fulfilled my obligation, that being said this will be the last time my family or myself will be coming to this establishment. For you folks that are thinking of going to this joint, just be aware you will be spending a crazy amount of money for a good pizza.

Busy, so busy, they brought the wrong pizza to our table. Which was ok, but frustrating for the people who had actually ordered that pizza. Delicious pizza, with a really long wait, and very over priced. Also kinda annoying that they can't serve drinks out on the patios out back. 70$ for 2 mid size ish pizzas, no drinks, and the waitress didn't even charge us for the salad bar, so it would have been more expensive. Save your money and time and just get a 5$ little ceasar pizza!! Good wait staff and good kitchen, but over priced and too crowded.

Food was amazing... the service not so much. Our kids drinks sat empty for more then ten minutes before i had to ask for them to be refilled. Also never once was asked if i wanted a second beer. I expect more, having been a server myself.

Beau Jo's is classic Colorado. You must go and order a Colorado Mountain Pie ordered by the pound. Save the crust for the end and slather it with honey. I especially enjoy their Firecracker Chicken but it is a little on the spicy side.

Good pizza in a casual, unique restaurant. It's been around for a long time -- I ate here as a child and now I sometimes take my young kids here from Denver. It still has the same log cabin look and probably the same few arcade games. Although the space is huge, it can fill up weekend afternoons. It's better if you come early.
This place is known for pizzas with think, braided crust that can be eaten with honey. The sizzler plates are like pizza toppings served in an iron skillet and they're good alternatives to pizza. The unlimited salad bar is always well stocked and has enough variety to be a meal on its own.
Idaho Springs is a good place to go if you want to visit a mountain town near Denver, and I often recommend the town and this restaurant to visitors.

They have good food. The pizza and wings are excellent, But here's the rub, a large pizza is around $11 more than a medium. 2 slices, slightly larger. When I mentioned this to staff they were angry and the waitress left the bill and never returned. So it's a known problem. she was obviously gutted of hearing about it.

Personally, I think it's a great way to rip off tourists.

I won't be back. Pizza not that good.

Been coming here for over 20 years, the food is always great the service for the most part is fast and friendly. Be sure to take your leftovers and not forget them as we did when we came back 5 minutes later and they told us they threw everything away, you would think they would have set it aside as I'm sure are not the only ones that have done that.

This place is deceptively large. It's not the fanciest or nicest pizza place you'll go to, but for the price it's hard to beat. Their Colorado style pizza, served with a side of honey, won't disappoint, and they have a nice beer selection to compliment.

Excellent customer service! It was only a 15 min wait for an inside table. The food was so good, I could eat here every night! We had quite the feast! The stuffed mushrooms blew me away!!! The pizza had the most freshest ingredients. I was wondering how come I've never thought about honey on crust until now. I can't wait to go back!!! This place is worth the calories.

This is one of those places you "have to try". A local legend of sorts, and the rhetoric about how it's better at the original, high altitude location because of how the crust rises is true. That said,. This place is over hyped. The food's alright. Go and try it. Historic downtown Idaho Springs has a lot of character, and this little spot is no exception. I personally don't think the pizza lives up to the hype though, so don't expect to have your world rocked by the food.

Have to hit Beau's every time we make a trip out to Colorado. I crave their awesome pizza year round back in Dallas. The salad bar is awesome, salad in a bathtub is most definitely unique. The pizza crust with honey afterwards is the best! Employees are friendly and restrooms are clean.

Charming old mine turned into a pizza restaurant. I'm from Chicago. I don't like pizza outside of Chicago. I can no longer say that. The pizza here was delicious and had a thick chewy crust that your supposed to pour honey on for desert. I loved it!

The menu Is almost incomprehensible. Pizza sauce is bland and the renowned, "Colorado-style" crust (massive, hand-shaped on the edges and thick under the ingredients) was even blander. While this crust did have a crisp exterior, the flavor was that of cheap white bread and the interior of the thick edges was doughy. The salad bar was riddled with old ingredients and the unmarked dressings were oddly viscous and tasted of preservatives. The only thing quality here was the service. The price is completely unjustified. You can get more flavorful pie from pizza hut.

I don't know what everyone is so excited about with their pizza. It is more crust then anything else, sure you can put honey on it but that doesn't make up for it. Plus it is definitely pricey for what you actually are getting.

Classic Big Crust Colorado Pizza. They have Gluten Free crust and a decent salad bar (the salad bar is housed in a bathtub!) There is honey on the table so you can turn your left over crust into dessert!

Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs is an all time classic. They have been serving pizza for a very long time. The lines can be long at times to wait to get a table but it's definitely worth the wait. Have you ever heard of eating the pizza crust with honey? Well this is the place. That is delicious, this is basically what they are known for. The reason I don't give it five stars is because the pizza itself is not the greatest pizza I've ate. The times that I've gotten it, as I bite into the deep dish slice; all the cheese comes off the slice. You're then left with a slice of dough in one hand and the cheese and toppings hanging from your mouth. It's worth a stop!

Got the Lil' Italy 8" and it was amazing. My first "Colorado Style" pizza. Get the wheat crust because it explodes with sweetness when you spread the honey on it. I sat at the bar which was a bad idea... between the leftover bleach smell and the planks on the floor that rocked every time someone in the vicinity moved, it was decidedly a bad idea. But the staff and Cory made up for it... super friendly and attentive.

Had the 1lb sausage hamburger combo with the cooked mushrooms appetizer. We ordered to go and sat in the park nearby since it was a long wait on a Sunday afternoon. Call ahead if you can since the pizza takes 30 mins to bake. The stuffed pizza is definitely worth trying once. I really enjoyed it but didn't "wow" me. The mushrooms were ok due to too much oil.
