Went to eat at Beau Jos on Saturday 8/24/19 and was looking forward to eating a good pizza. We called ahead to see if we could order our pizza to be eaten there at the restaurant. The woman on the phone said yes no problem. When we arrived at the restaurant and we're seated at a table we were met with nothing but horrible attitudes. Actually the attitudes started from the people at the hostess desk, then the waitress who was really the person with the worst attitude, to finally a "manager" who couldn't even find the pizza we ordered. She gave us every excuse under the sun for not finding it including that we either ordered under the wrong name or possibly didn't order it at all. Not that it matters but if I could give less than 1 star I would and I will not go there again. I certainly would never recommend them for people we send to this area as my wife and I are travel agents.

It's sad to see a Colorado institution falling slowly into oblivion. The food is still great, but the service is terrible. While they are still making their mile high crust and have honey at the table, that magic is gone.

They waitress was surly, the hostesses was only slightly friendly, and the food was delicious. Sure the beaugetti is great, the mile high pizza is wonderful, but not like it used to be.

Beau Jo's get it together man.

Great atmosphere. Great service. Pizza was delicious and portion was perfect. My wife and I ordered a Mediterranean salad and the 2# Cajun mountain pie. It was just right for the both of us to split.

Great crust on an even greater pizza...the crust (edges that are formed by hand) stands tall tall and proud. Can be eaten like a piece of mom's crusty homemade bread or, even better, if a bit of honey is poured on. Plenty of menu choices for not o ly pizza, but plenty of sandwiches, salads and other good eats as well. Prices are reasonable for hand-crafted goodness like these offerings. Prompt yet patient service made the experience even much more better!

Great food. Pizza was great but make sure your willing to spend $30 on a large pepperoni pizza before you order. Little over priced for a simple pizza. Was a little shocked at the bill.

This place deserves more stars than I can give. The food is fun, easily customized and very flavorful! Great things inside!
Sadly during my visit we ordered a veggie pizza that mistakenly had pepperoni on it. Told the server of the mistake, but when it returned almost 2 minutes later, I knew that they simply hand picked off each greasy slice of meat. This was proven when we still found pepperoni pieces AND grease, but the server seemed not to care.
As I am not a strict-veg, it was personally okay ... I know the real non-meat eaters would not appreciate this practice.
Presumably, this was an isolated circumstance, but, from a server to another server, I would like to at least have a conversation on what possibilities of waiting for a remake, or if what they did was acceptable.
Loved the taste, but I wish they loved caring for their customers as well.

A great time once again. This time for our daughters 16th birthday with a dozen of her friends. Mike the Assistant Manager took care of us getting seated and handled without any problem, even on a Saturday on a Holiday weekend. Very professional and personable. The wait staff was again so friendly with spot on service. Katy and her assistant did awesome and it was much appreciated. Pizza and salad bar were fantastic as always. Our daughter could pick any place to take her friends and in a split second, she chose Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs since it has been our go to place for most of her years when we go back and forth to the mountains. Great memories once again and great job to Mike and his crew. Well done. Happy Holidays to all of you.

The best pizza on the Front Range a very uniquely arranged salad bar that has everything that you could ever want. It was a great apres-ski experience fresh hot pizza and cold cold beer, in an authentic mining town. Accessible from the highway you should eat here.

Literally the best pizza I have ever had in my life. The atmosphere, the staff, food, the location, everything about this place was perfect. I can't wait until I am able to return to Colorado and visit this place!

I love this place but had a really bad experience yesterday. I had really talked it up to my friend who was visiting from Austin, who has glaucoma and a blind seeing eye dog. We entered through the back and were quickly stopped by a rude staff member who was telling us to stop and inquiring about the legitimacy of the dog's certification and asked if he was "just an emotional support dog". He asked me "well, are there any open tables outside"? After he got frustrated and looked outside he told us "ok well, you just need to go to the front and wait like everybody else". Yeah, that's where we were going. We were pretty upset and disappointed in the greeting, so we left. Definitely won't be bringing any out of town friends here anymore. Try to accommodate people's special needs in the future please.

Beau Jo's was recommended by my Co-worker Tom Neumann! My Husband and I were in Colorado Springs visiting my Nephew and his Wife and Family who are both stationed at Ft. Carson. Anyway, on our 2nd day there, we made the 90-min. journey to Beau Jo's.

We ordered: BBQ Wings, a 2lb. Hamburger Pizza and a 3lb. Motherlode Pizza. (FYI ~ 1lb.=Small; 2lb.=Medium; 3lb.=Large). Our lovely Server Emily brought: Parmesan and Crushed Red Pepper packets and a HUGE bottle of Honey to our table. We all looked at the Honey and wondered "What the...!" So my Niece stopped Emily next time she passed our table and asked, "What's the Honey for?" Emily said, "Oh..., lots of our Customers like to put Honey on the crust and kinda eat it like it's a dessert!"

We were ALL like, "Yeah! Ok!" So me..., being the "risk taker" that I am..., I go for it! O! M! GOSH! I'M IN LOVE! Who would have EVER thought about putting HONEY on their pizza crust?!?! Everyone was fighting for the Honey! I told my Family back in Milwaukee, Wisconsin about Beau Jo's and my Sister is planning a trip now! By other Sister wants the two of us to do a "turn around" day trip. Fly in, get a rental, enjoy lunch at Beau Jo's, and head back to the airport!

The Manager/Owner (not sure) stopped at our table to see if everything was "Ok" and he shared the history of Beau Jo's with us, shared that they add Honey to the pizza crust before baking and that Beau Jo's is the first stop for a lot of people as soon as they hit Colorado! I'M SOLD! And did I mention they give a Military Discount! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING EMILY AND THE ENTIRE STAFF AT BEAU JO'S! LOVE YOU GUYS! See you soon!

If you're going between Denver and the mountains, Beau Jo's pizza in Idaho Springs is a Colorado right of passage. I'm a fan of the thick crust because tables come set with honey that's great for dipping the crust so you get your meal and dessert in the same pie. For a few extra bucks, it's worth adding the all-you-can-eat salad bar. For parking, save money on meters by parking in the free lot behind the restaurant.

Great Pizza, Unpersonable staff.. came to eat a late lunch on sunday and was sat in the WORST servers section.. not only was our service bad enough to outrage someone, the management had no concern or worry. we sat down and ordered a drink, with our son!! and the server didnt even mind to ask what our son would like to drink.. then when she was asked to bring any random ipa on tap, she never informed us what the drink was...?? when we finally got her attention to order, she rudely said "well youre going to have to wait" like! what? excuse me!!! then after we finally placed our order the waitress didnt even inform us of the pizza and what was on what half! i mean, how rude! finally after we got half way through our pizza she brought our tab and never even asked if we were ready to go, how our food was or if we wanted a dessert!! (mind you, this whole time we watched her sit and conversate with her 'husband' and give them service that everyone of her guests would expect) we brought it to the managements attention and he became our server and didnt even barely appologize.. all he could say was "i hope you give us a second chance" like, you couldnt do it right this time, and this wasnt the first time we have gotten bad service!!! sadly, would rather walk a quarter block west to the brewery and spend my money in a personable environment :)

I came to this restaurant with my family, there was 10 of us so they put us in a banquet room by ourselves, which was the only good experience we had at this restaurant. The waiter left us water and cups to pour ourselves, and at one point told or whole party his sob story about his musical career failing him. Super inappropriate. The pizza was tiny for the price, and barely had any toppings on it! I have worked in pizza before and the standard is every topping on every slice. There was like one artichoke piece on every other slice. They brought the plates out after the pizza and had all sorts of restrictions for parties over 6. Such a bummer.

This was a very interesting experience. The pizza is great! Each table had a bottle of honey on it, which was interesting. Ince you get to the crust they suggest drizzling the honey on it, and it's a delicious combination!!

Beware of residential parking, no on street signs in places but they do provide tickets. Streets closed. Next time we will go elsewhere. It would be different if they had signs and if it didn't take so long. Get this to the chamber of commerce if they care.

Always great food here. I love that my friends and family can order from pizza, to creating their own salad's from the salad bar, to having simply wings. What makes Beau Jo's different from any other pizza place has to be there mountain pie pizza. Ingredients stuffed inside a pizza with toppings on top. I always enjoy the great customer service and the fact I can charge my Electric car here for free.

The pizza at Beau Jo's was awesome. The cowboy pizza crust just might be one of the best I've had. This makes for a great stop in Idaho Springs. While there, check it the awesome downtown as well.

Beautiful historical building is home to one of Colorado's favorite mountain pies. The food is wonderful and the menu can accommodate any picky eaters in your group yeah I'm talking to you keto eaters and you non gluten eaters :) you'll be satisfied no matter what your preferences are. I suggest the broccoli crust for you Keto lovers. If it looks busy be smart and drop someone off to put your name on the list before you park. Although this place is huge and has lots of seating the wait can be 40 minutes on a busy day. Best way to order is ask your server for suggestions or choose something that is most similar to what you really want and sub out toppings to save money versus building your own pizza. For an additional $6 you can take a trip to the salad bar. Make sure you save some crust for the honey. It's part of the experience. Kid friendly, and grandma too lol.

Best pizza on the planet, hands down! This is the original Beau Jo's and, really, the only one worth going to. The atmosphere is fantastic. There are antique photographs on the walls, an old mine shaft in the dining room, and the salad bar is in old claw foot bathtubs! Get a simple pepperoni because really the crust is where it's at! You must put the honey on the crust. It's better than any dessert they have.

All very good. Prices are a bit too high, for my taste. Good pizza, but just can't see, why pay $32 for a pizza, not including the side order or the extra toppings. Almost $42, for a pizza with extra cheese and another topping. Had better pizzas for less. Nevertheless it was great service from attentive staff. Not their fault, prices are high.
