Bought a Motherlode Take and Bake Mountain pie. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality however this pie looked rushed and messy and was missing the meatballs. Not what you would expect for a 35.00 pizza that only feeds two.

I've been coming to Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs for almost 14 years now. In the past 4 years I've been noticing a decline of service or food quality. And I'll address each with pros and cons.

Service:
- They are very friendly
- They tend to forget about you and leave you sitting there waiting for your bill or to take your order.
- It feels extremely rushed, therefore, it creates an atmosphere of "yeah, yeah, eat your food and get out of here."
- Drink refills were lacking extremely. I had one refill and one of the two ladies I was with had one as well. It wasn't because our drinks weren't empty, it was simply because they were forgotten or ignored.
- I made an odd request/question about the menu and I was shut down without an explanation with simple open and shut response, "my manage says that we are absolutely not allowed to do that. Those toppings are exclusively for the (special pizza)." A side note on this one, I have compared restaurants on this topic and it is fascinating to note that the proper response and the improper response. the proper response would be, "let me check to see if that is possible." This will acknowledge the customers odd request. I've been to Patxi's pizza in Englewood and the manager said, "I've never heard of that, but let me walk across the road and get that ingredient so that you can have it on your pizza." I was blown away by the accommodation that we ate there once a week for the next couple of months, even though we have had bad experiences there as well, the managers always were absolutely amazing.

The food
- Back in the day when we first started going to Beau Jo's their pizzas were hands down the best. Now... meh. The toppings have a hard time staying on the pizza, I went to pull a slice off the platter and when it got to my plate it was only the crust... I've never had a pizza where the toppings slide off the pizza so easily.

In summary, I felt like I don't have a say in the food I'm going to eat. Yes, they have a customize-able pizza, but they can't think outside of the box or willing to entertain out of the box customers. In my humble opinion, part of the fun of pizza is that you get to customize it according to how you want it.

I give the place 3 stars because it is still good to eat at, but it simply has some areas where they could improve on.

Another place worth the drive. It's about an hour out from Aurora. We've been to this location multiple times. Food is always amazing. We always do the all you can eat Salad bar, and their Mountain Pie with pepperoni. The crust on the pizza is the best part. Drizzle honey on the crust and OMG YUUUUUM!! They are known for eating the pizza crust this way. I've been to the other Beau Jo's locations but for some reason they are just not as good as the original location in Idaho Springs.

The building is very historical so the atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff are super friendly and always smiling. Most visit at least once.

Good price and nice service here. The room is clean and neat, but the noise isolation is bad.. I heard the room guest next door was coughing in the night and felt like someone was sleeping next to me.. which was kinda scary. I was used to it in the next coming days though.

Highway Robbery. It's extremely rare for me to leave a 1-star review, but my girlfriend and I paid $60 for a large and a medium pizza. Ok we were expecting quality, I said no fresh tomoatoes and they completely put no sauce on my pizza. Also both pizza's were extremely dry. I don't mind paying $60 for pizzas, if there's QUALITY. This location completely lacks that, I feel like I was robbed.

The pizza s toppings were very tasty, but beware there is more crust (bread) than topping ingredients. Management has it going on. IF you only want a delicious, bountiful salad it s going to set you back $10.00. Bottom line lunch that consisted of salad and a small pizza for two working women was $40.00
I feel that is excessive

Unique Rocky mountain style pizza, best eaten with a generous serving of honey spread on the crust. Service was good, specialty pizzas available for those who don't like to choose their toppings one by one.

The only shortfalls that I encountered today was a bitter and metallic aftertaste to the Pepsi I was served. The silverware is also very malleable, causing inconvenience when cutting through the thick crust of the pizza.

I LOVE the salad bar but anything else no thank you. Over priced and I don't need honey on or in everything. All crust has honey in it. I'm not a fan of sweet and savory when the sweet is way too much.

This place will not disappoint! Get the mountain pie and devour the crust with honey. My favorite is the cajun, but this time had a simple sausage and mushroom pizza with green peppers and red onions. My mouth still waters at the awesomeness!

A must visit if you're in the mountains skiing! We loved to hit this place on the way home from the slopes! Get a mountain pie and finish it off with some honey on the crust! So great!! Just go. You won't be sorry!!

I'm from New York, so my pizza standards are different, nonetheless, Beau Jo's was pretty good. They offer two types of crusts: thin or their special thicker crust option (get this one) plus pre-determined topping combos or choose-your-own. Popular among locals and visitors alike.

The pizza was awesome and much needed after whitewater rafting. Nothing fancy. It s close by to the area rapids and on the way back to Denver. Beer menu is good and best of all, they give you honey to eat your dessert with - the crust. It is a little congested in town so beware about that and walking a little after parking.

I'm a fan of really good traditional NY style pizza and I realize that Beau Jo's is not that but the crust is ridiculously thick. The pizza is basically half crust. The center of the pizza was however, pretty good. It's also overpriced. $30 for a large pepperoni. The service was poor. The hostesses were making fun of another customer right in front of us. The waitress never checked on us after delivering the pizza until she eventually brought the check.

Good experience. The customer service at the beginning was a little rough they would not seat us until our entire group was there. But about 10 minutes later we were seated and the food was as good as described. They have solar panels on the roof and a staff that will lighten up you day.

Stumbled upon this place driving from Denver airport to Vail / Beaver Creek ski resort. The neighborhood is cool as it s an old mining town and lots of cute shops around it. The pizza is epic and a different type as they use honey on the crust and is so good. They have other styles of pizza too if honey is it for you. Place is always busy and it s really good and an awesome casual and fun ambience too. Usually a wait since they are popular so call head
