Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Surprisingly enough, also some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. Get there early, there will be a wait.
The order was correct, the staff was friendly, but it seems like the mountain crust is shrinking... By a lot... I always look forward to the huge crunchy on the outside and doughy softness on the inside of the crust... But now its pretty small, which is a bummer... However, the rest of the pizza was still really good.
Some of the best pizza you can get in Colorado! Trust me put the honey on the crust its worth it!! They also have an excellent bar here.
While the pizza is good, the prices are not. $16 for a personal size pizza with only two toppings is insane, especially since it s only 3 bites per slice of actual pizza and the rest is the crust. The staff however is always friendly and it s in a great location. Nice atmosphere. The place is a novelty that s good to take out-of-towners but I won t be eating there on my own anymore because it s just way over-priced.
My sister took us to Beau Jo's on our visit to Colorado because she knew how much we love pizza. While the food was delicious the service wasn't so hot. We were done eating before my 7 year old nephew's kids pizza arrived. No explanation. My sister asked to speak to a manager. No manager arrived. This was around 2pm on a Tuesday. Hate to see the service at supper time. Sorry not sorry.
Edit:. The manager did come out and apologize and compted the kids cheese pizza.
Waited 1.5hrs for our pizza and it came out cold. She reassured us multiple times it was coming...and when it did the pizza clearly had been sitting out for over 30mins. Never came up to refill our drinks. Awful experience.
Really delicious pizza in a unique, historic building. Definitely worth the trip.
Convienent location, lots of free parking, lots of seating inside. Their pizza is great and reasonably prices. They have a good selection of beer and their servers are knowledgable about the styles they carry. The service is excellent; it's a great place to stop for a while and eat.
Idaho Springs is my favorite location due to the atmosphere. Beau Jos is my favorite pizza here in Colorado though it isn't cheap. They have a very good salad bar, too.
Come for the pizza! Mountain crust was the.thickesy I ever had! Wow...just wow! Service was excellent, too!
Never had a pizza like this!! Totally worth the trip down the mountain to eat there. The pizza was some kind of Colorado crust, they offer local raw honey to eat with the rolled up crust that was absolutely amazing! My kids (8&6 respectively) both rate it 5 stars each lol. I also found the historical element to the place too, with all of the historic mining newspapers and antique equipment as decor. But for real, very unique, very good food, and very family friendly. You will love atmosphere and food. Thank you Beau Joe s for the best dinner we have had in Colorado while on vacation. I forgot the servers name, but the big muscle man was the most polite and happy server and our whole family liked him a lot. He was very informative and helpful.
Delicious pizza. I had never had Colorado style pizza and was really glad I tried it.
Our family loves the pizza. We make sure we eat here every time we go to the mountains.
Visiting from Chicago and stopped in after a cold day at the Ice Castles in Dillon. My friends thought I should try mountain pie. I did and I loved it! I wasn't sure about the "eat the crust with honey at the end" part, but turns out that it's delicious. Sat at a table next to the mine shaft - cute. Good food, good service.
Pizza is only ok and there is always a long wait for a table because it gets very busy.
Love this place! Best pizza crust ever! Sit outside if possible amazing views!
Really tasty; light and fluffy crust, fresh crisp veggie toppings, and lots of options on the salad bar. The honey they give you for the crust is DELICIOUS. We rated 4 stars because it was a bit pricey for the product, and the toppings don't stay on the crust.
Amazing food and location to walk around and explore
Food was not appropriate for reviews. Cool place thou.
For being the "best" place to eat here in Idaho springs I didn't like it, the pizza isn't even that good and the wings not great
Pretty decent pizza joint. The veggie was great. Little too doughy for my taste but good otherwise. Took a while for our drinks but they were good. Decent beer selection. Really interesting interior though and husband loved the spaghetti.
The pizza here is delicious! If you get certain types of pizza like the motherload, it comes with almost 10 different meats on it. The crust is big and fresh and you can drizzle it in honey. Everything about the pizza is great and I suggest making a dinner stop here if you are in idaho springs.
This place is always packed and there is almost always a wait because the pizza is delicious!!
We grabbed a take out pepperoni pizza while passing through.
The pizza is good not great. However, NO pepperoni pizza is worth $39!! I still wonder if we paid someone else's check.
Didn't receive honey or ranch as requested.
I remember this place being one of my favorite spots as a kid, not anymore.
Pizza was good but the price of the pizza wasn t worth it at all. And I had a bad waitress
We haven't gone here in a long time because it was so dirty. They seemed to have cleaned it up but service was poor. Food great as always. Can't seem to hit all 3 areas though
Absolutely love this place great stop after a day 4 wheeling
This place is very good. We really enjoyed how the exterior was decorated, very unique. Staff was excellent. They have many different selections for pizza and crust. Including cauliflower and gluten free. White and wheat. We ordered a half sky hawk and half hipster. We also had the salad bar, which had a very good selection. All the food was amazing. Would definitely return!
The mountain pie is great and the honey is a nice addition.
They offer a nondairy cheese option, which I loved!
From the time we are seated to placing our order was reasonable, but took an hour for our food to finally arrive. It was still good, but the wait time seemed quite asinine.
Beau Jo s is a phenomenal stop to or from the highlands of Colorado. The pizza is very good, not the best I have ever had, but still worth stopping at every time we visit Colorado. The thick, soft, and doughy crust is delicious. The environment is very old west and you feel like you are deep in the Rockies. If you haven t been here, make time for some excellent pizza and a beer.
Awesome place to grab a bite to eat after the mountains.
Used to be a great place to eat pizza. Sadly our visit 8/2/18 was a competition with numerous flies...over a less than stellar pizza. Waitress was great, the quality and value was not.
Overcrowded, pizza was ok, definitely not worth the price.
Classic mountain pies. If you've never been here then I would recommend it if only for the experience
One of the best restaurants for me. The food is so delicious. Also, people who work in it is so friendly and helpful, and they are smiley people. The restuarant is clean and beautiful, and it has a great and clean space for sitting. the food's price are normal.
Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Salad bar was awesome and makes you feel a bit better about wolfing down half (or more) of a pizza. Great service and atmosphere. Lots of nice little gift shops around. The perfect lunch spot in Idaho Springs.
Mountain pies taste better at 8000 feet, apparently. I'm always willing to drive an hour to get my favorite pizza.
Very good pizza and the best wings! A bit pricey, but you get what you ask for! Sad to say I moved almost 1,800 miles away. One of my favorite spots in town. I'll be back to visit!
A Colorado tradition but the pizza is only a bit above average and the prices are astronomical. $41 for a two topping pizza!
Frankly, I love pizza, but not Beaujos. Too much crust. I want to taste the ingredients, not the crust.
Not really sure why this place gets so much hype... The cost of pizza here is astronomical and NOT justified by the quality or size.
The pizza was good but their whole wheat crust is sweet, even without the honey. The service was great and the wait time was manageable for the number of customers
Exhausted from tackling Kelso Ridge, Torreys and Grays peak that day, I knew I needed some comfort food. I got the calzone which was fantastic. It was loaded inside and not just a base layer with a fluffy crust. The wrapped edges were soft to eat which often times gets hard. It was a good find.
WHY AREN'T THERE MORE STARS?! 67,000 STARS OUT OF 5!!
The pizza here is good. If you go after a long day of hiking or skiing, the pizza is great. The service is always friendly. If I would knock it for anything it would be for the mediocre beer list, but the honey on the crust keeps this Colorado institution at 5 stars.
Get the mountain pie. The cajun one is amazing. If you eat all the pizza and save the crust for the end, there is delicious honey on the table to drizzle on the crust. It makes a fantastic dessert. One small mountain pie is more than enough for 2 people and I eat a lot. You will be enticed by apps and what not ... just save it for this honey crust... so worth it!
Have always love the pizza, and great service..thank you!
We visit beau Jo's frequently, but sat down for the first time since reopening from covid. Food was fantastic as always, great social distancing practices, and fantastic service!
Horribly managed place, we went to the back with our dogs and were told we had to go check in, so we did while there was an open table. Then a group showed up after us who said they were going to go see if they could get the open table and the staff gave away our table and when I asked about it they said they had checked in after we heard them say they hadn't. They screwed up and then lied about their screw up. Pizza is mediocre at best.
Had a good dinner. House salad was huge, wings were great! Bartender gave great service!
Great pizza, good selection of beer, great for after a mountain adventure.
Best pizza of our whole 12 day roadtrip! So good! Awesome salad bar too!
I have loved the OG Beau Jo s since I was a little guy. I used to be afraid of the mine shaft, but it never deterred me from their tasty pizza.
Recently I came here and stepped in a puddle of honey and tracked it across the carpet just like pooh bear.
The mountain pie is a Colorado classic and combined with that sweet pooh bear honey, it is the perfect way to end a day of mountain adventures.
They have a good GF (gluten free) option for their crust and I ve heard they have other good food on the menu, but I ve never tried any of it. Nor have I tried anything else in Idaho Springs for that matter.
If you come around dinner time there can be quite a wait, but I love the little peppermints they set out by the doors though! I usually take five or six while I wait to be seated.
They have an arcade with some cool games like racing games and pinball. If you draw something outstanding on your napkin you might get to have it pinned up on the wall.
One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the big water wheel across the street!
Pizza was ok but what ruined the experience was that we had to sit outside in the high wind instead of inside the restaurant, which was the whole reason I brought my bf, because of the atmosphere in the fact that it was a in old gold mine. Our waitress was great, however, they gave our table away after being on the waiting list for 45 minutes. Beau Jo's was great back in the day but now just another pizza place in a mountain town.
Beau Jo's us always fantastic. Especially this one.
Fantastic food and service. We got their specialty crust pizza with pineapple and honey to drizzle on top, absolutely delicious. Our waitress Kelsey was amazing. Definitely recommend!
Had the best time. Love this place a must do for Idaho Springs and pizza lovers..
Friendly staff. Pizza was ok. Nice crust but sauce had no flavor. Gray atmosphere
Not tasty for an over
priced pizza...I did not like the pizza at all! crust was over cooked and overall had no flavor, I couldn't even grab a slice cause the pizza would come apart.
I love stopping here on the way home from skiing. Good salad bar, great pizza!
Great food, excellent service and tasty drinks...a favorite tradition after a trip to the mountains!
