One of the nicest family experiences in the mountains, and pizzas to match the scenery! With a huge variety of menu items, they can satisfy almost any customers desire. They have a fantastic healthy options selection for any restaurant, let alone a pizza joint.

It's just okay. 9/10 your service will be garbage. Also expect a massive wait. If you don't mind eating like a dog, you can camp on the patio side for some dog friendly seating, but it's not shaded and the service is even worse. The pizza is overall good. They can be a little crazy, but the flavors are good and the honey is nice to eat with the crust.

Edit: The response below is a fantastic example of the poor service you'd likely receive; no acknowledgement of a problem and lacking any self awareness.

NY has their pizza, Chicago has their pizza well its little known Colorado has theirs. Beau Jo's original place is in Idaho Springs and famous for their mountain pies. Fist size crust on the outside allows you to enjoy a wonderful pizza and have a wonderful dessert by saving the crust and using the bottle of honey on your table to drizzle on the crust for dessert. In a rustic old building downtown there is a fantastic staff and a fun place to visit. There are a limited few other locations around the area as well. Highly recommended.

The best pizza I have ever had. I have eaten at Beau Jo's for over 40 years and the quality is still there. Beware the size you order though, these are mountain pies with enough toppings to feed a mountain man! The honey wheat crust is delicious and is fantastic dessert when topped with the provided honey.

In college, stopping by Beau Jo's after a ski weekend was such a great tradition. It's still amazing six years later. Mountain pies are delicious, the service is great, and the vibe is part of why I love the Colorado Rocky Mountains so much.

Stopped in for Lunch with a few co workers. Our server was visibly upset that we started off ordering only 2 drinks and several waters before we placed an order for our meal. "Is that all?" Brought my coffee, no creamer, had to ask another server. Gluten free sandwich was ok, not sure regular bread would have made much of a difference. Service def not up to par with the positive reviews this place receives.

Been going to Beau Jo's for a couple decades now and I still really enjoy it! I have to say though that I think their pizzas have gotten smaller and their prices higher. It was $31 for a large cheese pizza, two drinks and a 20% tip so you'll have to judge for yourself. Excellent pizza none the less and worth trying at least once.

Best pizza in Colorado hands down. Great for waiting out the ski traffic on your way back into town on 70. Amazing deep deep dish pizza, where honey is absolutely necessary with your crust.

We come here most every time we come down from the mountains. We love the mountain pies, so delicious, and drizzling the honey on the larger than life crust is delish. We notice steep increases in price over the last few years, a large 16" pie is gonna run $35+ and a small single topping (pepperoni) will set you back $15. So pizza is getting expensive. We got 1 large and 1 small mountain pizza, salad for 2 and 1 cocktail, the bill set is back almost $90. (the small comes with 6 small slices and the large had 10)

On a local recommendation we had to stop for a Mountain Pie on our way back to Denver Airport after a few hard days of skiing. Good beer, good pizza, casual and lots of seating. Of you like crust, this pizza is for you! Be sure to try drizzling with honey for dessert. Definitely worth a stop.

It's been awhile since I've been to a Beau Jo's and this is the first time I've been to the one in Idaho Springs. The pizza was good and my wife made several trips to the salad bar. The mountain pie is what they call their pizza with the big crest and it's fun and different. You put honey on it and eat like it's a dessert. The only issue we had was the waitress messed up our kids food and my oldest son had to wait even longer to get his food. The waitress give a small discount on the bill but it really didn't make up for the inconvenience of my son watching his siblings eat.

Phenomenal pizza. Best I've ever had. You can order an individual or (small) for yourself. Or split a giant monster. They also have a fair salad bar. 8 options 6 dressings usually mixed greens of spinach and iceberg I think. The pizza is what they are known for though. The crust is so delicious it doubles as a dessert with a lil honey.

This place is always worth the stop in Idaho Springs. Even if there is a long wait, their buzzer things have a range of at least one block and you can shop around the area while you are waiting. Another pro tip, if you have a dog on a leash, there are about 5 tables that are on the back patio near the parking lot which are open seating. So if you come around the back of the restaurant (obviously only when the weather is nice) and you have a dog, or don't mind sitting with dogs, you can usually find a spot to sit right away.

Beau Jo's is and always has been a Colorado classic. Even though this restaurant shows its age, it still provide excellent service and Superior Pizza. The small is just enough for 2 and very filling at that. Really wish they would clean up the place. But I guess it has a bit of character. local tip, do not use the restrooms if you are a germaphobe. Absolutely disgusting. Still gave it 5 stars as it is not a chain store like Papa John's and the like.

I get it that Beau Jo's is a Colorado legend and I wanted to be "wowed", but I just think it was ok, not great. We had the Hamburger- Sausage pizza, and for $22, I would expect more pizza and less crust. The place is busy, and the service is very efficient, but the pizza is subpar for what you pay.

Worth the price point. 1 lb mountain pie (6 slices) can definitely feed one with even room for leftovers. The prices are a little high but the location and feel make it worth visiting. The stuffed mushrooms are the booooomb too.

Iconic pizza place in Idaho Springs. Been going for years. Always excellent mountain pies and service is always good. Can get busy as expected but definitely worth the wait. Will be back as often as we are in town.

We ordered 5 pizzas and every pizza was incorrect. When asking how many people one salad feeds, she say 1!! We ordered 4 salads and 1 salad easily fed 2-3 people. What a complete waste of money not to mention they are overpriced to begin with!! So completely disappointed. When picking up our order they had messed up several other orders that were being picked up at the same time!

By far our favorite Beau Jo's location! If we make a trip up into the mountains it is a requirement to stop at Beau Jo's Idaho Springs. Whenever family comes to town we always make a trip up here as well. Mountain air and the cold springs water make for some really great pizza!
