Why there is no zero option. Such a bad property company. Are they shut down soon? Jesus. RUDE MEAN STUPID
Bayside has always had awesome service! Throughout the years of dealing with them in real estate matters, they have been absolutly fantastic. Quick to respond, and willing to help .
I have been dealing with Bayside for the past 7 or 8 years as Strata President of NW187 a 102 unit strata. I have found management to be extremely responsive to any issues we have had and while we did have one property manager who was not a "good fit", we were immediately provided with a replacement property manager. Tracy, our current property manager, is a treasure. She deals very promptly with items which come up a Council meetings, she circulates correspondence from owners promptly and communicates regularly with Council members. I have read a number of the review posts here and it appears to me that many owners or tenants confuse the duties of the property manager with the duties of a Strata Council. As a Strata Council member it is up to Council to make decisions regarding the property. That is why we have been elected by a majority of owners at the AGM. There is often a time lag in responding to owner correspondence. That is not the fault of a property manager. The property manager must receive instruction from the Strata Council on how they wish to respond. This requires a majority of council to respond and at times there may be a time lag. I have also found that many of the questions asked by owners can be answered by simply becoming familiar with your Strata Bylaws.
Bayside property management provided me with great service experience. Their management team is very efficient and proactive with great service. I am very glad to working with them.
For a company that deals in "communication" this is a failure. Dealing with Sorina from this company is a joke. Takes days to reply to emails, and you can never get a hold of her my phone. Once you send enough follow up emails and voicemails, they will call you back. Once they respond, there is a good chance they will only respond to one of your questions, even tho you sent a few.
If i did not reply to emails at my trade promptly, i would not have a job. Theres no reason to have to wait x days for a reply to a simple question.
Pick anyone but bayside. 0/10
one of the worst property management companies in the lower mainland absolutely brutal to deal with. Rude ,arrogant all they do is impose fines bilk as much funds out of a landlord as possible. Strata Corps think twice about hiring this company.
Our strata been using Bayside as our strata management company for nearly a year now. I have found them to be very responsive to any of our inquiries or concerns. They are great with communication and are easy to contact 24/7. Our individual agent is hard working, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile for us. Highly
recommended.
Extremely rude, arrogant, and irresponsible management team. I got my tools stolen from my car in the parking lot; when I reported the problem to them and asked if they could check the security camera record for the suspects, they refused. I told them that I had seen several guys trying to take my tools from my car days before they were lost, and those guys were not residents in the building, they were in their working uniforms and obviously were hired to do some fixing work in the apartment. They put my tools back when i yelled at them.
However, the Bayside refused to check the camera, and then, days later, they called me and said that they found my tools, but when i went there, i found a couple of cheap, used, and useless tools in their office! Most ridiculously, they were not even mine!
I think I will never know what happened to my tools(I bought and used them for only about one month and they were stolen in my apartment building )! I am wondering what is the relationship between the Bayside company and those suspicious workers they hired, and why Bayside refused to provide the security video record to locate the thieves?! What on earth are they trying to hide? Who are they trying to protect? Whoever might be, at least not the tenants like me and my neighbours!
Working with Candace Turner has been a pleasure. She is quick to respond, professional and personable. As a contractor I highly recommend her at Bayside Property Services.
I would give a zero star if I could. The guy who runs my building, Mike, is basically a robot with zero human emotions or compassion. He is not the kind of person who should be sitting pretty managing 60+ units in our building. He straight up doesn't care about us... or maybe it's just me. Maybe he does care about the older people (it's a 19+ building, everyone is 60+, I'm 32) and he hates young people. Or maybe he loved white people and hates persians and other races. When I went to plead my case before strata council last month, council consisted of "White Lady, White Man, White Man, White Man, White Man" - and frankly, I haven't seen a single middle eastern, asian or otherwise foreign person in this building. I unfortunately am unable to rent my unit out, otherwise I would be out of here so fast. Never again apartments... If I have to move out of the country to live in a house I will. I refuse to deal with people like Bayside property management ever again after I sell this place. If it's at all possible for you, avoid any building run by these guys. They are the worst, and their Google Reviews say a lot.
you are lucky if you see the manager in the building
A horrible property company which is always blackmailing tenants according to their strata bylaw. they do not deal with residents(tenants), only deal with the onwer. they are the boss here. HORRIBLE!HORRIBLE! I wish to sue them any? second, but it will only waste my time and money.
Lee at Bayside Property Services has been exceptional. She has been extremely helpful getting our building finances in order as well as organizing essential projects around the building. Communication has been excellent and we look forward to working with her.
Terrible management company. Rude managers and poor decision making!
Make sure you double check your contract if you're signing anything with this company! I hope it's not too late when you're reading this.
Property managers are rude and refuse to fix problems. We have had a noise issue for over 6 months
I would defiantly give a zero star to this company if there was such an option. Very irresponsible company. I've been writing to Barbara Fisher ,who is supposed to be our property manager , for over a year but she hasn't even bothered to answer me back. Disappointed and frustrated with their service!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW my name is Nazanin Khayyami

This property management company specializes in taking as much money as possible from strata and providing as little service as possible. In ten years, we have had five different managers, most of them overworked, burnt out and thus rude or ineffective or both. They are really just writing emails to put out the fires and that is done in a mostly reactive manner rather than than proactively. If I could give no stars, I would.
Our 24 unit apartment building has had a very long standing relationship with Bayside. Over the years we have found them to be knowledgeable, reliable, conscientious, and caring. Any requests and/or issues are dealt with in a timely manner and their fees are fair/comparable. I would highly recommend them.
I've had the displeasure of dealing with Bayside for several years when I recently lived in a strata run by them. Total incompetence! I dealt with two property managers but specifically with a woman called Candace. Notoriously bad for not forwarding important e-mails and totally ignoring messages. I also got wind that she gossiped to condo owners about their tenants which caused issues between owners and tenants. So unprofessional! Where do those people get their training? Just terrible!
September 1, 2020 Two years too late to the game, eh Bayside? Say what you will, but anyone would expect you to protect your employees. I wasn't the only one who had an issue with her. But that doesn't matter now anyway.
Allen, I sent you an email about the issue yesterday. Would be great if you could just confirm that you are looking into it.
Terrible company.we have had to remind them more than once that they work for the strata, not the other way around.unbelievable arrogance.we have lived in the same strata for 17 years and not one positive thing to say about the company.
Extremely rude and difficult to deal with. We would rather move than ever deal with this company again - which is exactly what we re doing. Sure, this property might just be your job (which you don t seem to care much about) but it s our HOME. You seem to forget that we re human and that we want what s best for the place that we live. Bye, Bayside, and good riddance.
Worst property management I ve ever seen. Elevator broken down for more than three months. Broken doorway handle. Unsecured parking. No one responds to you. Do not deal with this utterly clown on a company and management team.
So they literally show 4 generic photos for 7070 Inlet Drive, called asking for more photos and apparently they can't provide this - this screams laziness and incompetence. When most other companies are providing video/3D tours, these guys can't even be bothered to photograph the units they want to rent
They were good and responsive at handling textbook requests. But when I had an issue come up that incurred a fine from the strata, they weren't good at facilitating communication. There were mistakes in the number of months being charged in the fine and I had other questions about it and it always required me to reach out to them, and the response would ignore me pointing out said mistakes which I found disappointing. I'd avoid their buildings in the future.
The Property Managers I work with at Bayside consistently prove themselves to be compassionate and capable professionals who conduct themselves with integrity. This speaks volumes about their culture and management. Great team!
Scott Unger is incompetent! When an issue came up he did very little to rectify it!
He said to me No one is forcing you to live in this complex. You are free to move whenever and wherever you wish.
Very unprofessional!!
Still waiting for issues to be fixed over a year later. I've lived here since 2004 and NOW they want an extra deposit for a cat I don't have but had 2 and clearly states TWO CATS on my lease when I moved in!!! Useless company and management is a joke!!!! MUST LOWER EXPECTATIONS WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY!
My wife and I have been residents at a local Strata complex in the lower mainland and we and many of our strata residents have been troubled by an employee at Bayside Properties in Burnaby. Her name is Tara Hooge and she is the senior property manager and she is extremely rude and down right hostile and racist towards the residents at my strata and council. I have heard horrid stories of her disrespect and downright hostility towards our elder ethnic strata residents. We thought the property manager was supposed to answer our questions and address concerns about our strata complex and was hired to be friendly and caring towards the residents, but Tara Hooge is the opposite of all of that. I hope this issue is looked into because Tara Hooge is the most disgusting excuse for a senior property manager I have ever seen. Tara Hooge's behavior is appalling towards the residents of my strata and I hope she is stopped before she causes someone to find a new place to live because of her hostility and disrespect.
I have always been treated with utmost courtesy and professionalism in my dealings with Wendy Lai, receptionist for Bayside Property Management over the years. Wendy has done a great job in making my experiences a very pleasant one time and time again! Any company is as good as the staff it has and Bayside Property Management has it!
I've been dealing with many of the Bayside Property professionals for many years now; no one is perfect but as managers & companies go, I would not hesitate to recommend this property management company to any strata I work for. I work in the security industry and I've always found the managers I deal with to be very concerned for people's safety and security.
I was once asked to be on a strata council but as I attended all the meetings I only became more & more frusatrated by the loud mouth schnooks who always chose to sit in the back of the room hoping to be heard, but would always be the last person to help with minor requests to look after their own property.
If you own a strata property be proud and look after your house; it's yours after all, and you're paying for it, so quit blaming strata property managers for your own problems, they belong to YOU!
This has to be the worst company I have delt with.
They up'd the strata 30%, and now they only cover damages that are over $15,000, that's why I'm planning to buy a house
Payment methods are primitive. They should accept credit cards so there will be no necessity to drive to their office.
Bayside property management is a very good and high integrity organization. Their management team does a good job in a very difficult and challenging industry. We have about 11 buildings and they always protect the LONG TERM interest of the owner, building and tenants in a very fair way. Residential property management is one of the most regulated businesses and they always follow the changing Governmant rules and improve rental buildings.
The word "management" can be removed from the company title. A recent experience with Property staff at Centauras place was nothing short of a nightmare. Having struggled to set up a viewing for a 2 bedroom apartment (They only show Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm so hopefully you're not employed if you'd like a viewing) we were told that the 2 bedroom has a family of 4 interested so you should consider the 1 bedroom instead. Although a little bit odd, we obliged to view and found the size and price was more than suitable so we requested to apply. Let the fun begin. With very few words we were handed to large application forms and told to return as soon as possible so we could get the place. Excitedly, we said we would return them via email before end of day. The form required everything from bank account numbers to bra size and with the prefilled year starting "19.." (Minimum 17 years old) it seemed very unusual but with our heart set on getting the place we were happy to complete it. Upon submitting we expected a quick response as we had already forgone our first choice of the 2 bedroom, but days began to pass without any word. After 2 days I reached out to the Building Manager to ask if there was anything else he needed and he explained that they needed more time as he now had 5 applications to go through.... This seemed odd as everywhere else I have ever rented runs on a first come first served basis but clearly there was more up for review here. As we were pretty set on getting the place I asked if I could pay a few months rent in advance to tip the scales (Thats right, I play dirty) but he explained that he doesnt make the decision and that the property company in charge does but that I will have the decision the following morning. Fair enough. 1 Morning turns to 2 and still no word. By this point im getting anxious as move out date is nearing and we've slowed our apartment searches as we thought we were done... At this time I decide to reach out to the company themselves (The decision maker so im told) and find out whats happening. The following is the catalyst to this report..... Having spoken to the person responsible for new rentals she calmly explains that they have nothing to do with the approval beyond just a credit check and that it's all up to the building manager.... Outside voice "Thanks for your time" Inside voice "Incompetent, lying guttersnipe". At this point I have decided that if just renting is this much of a disaster, living under this muppets rule is not an option. Fast forward 3 hours and property company has clearly contacted the Building managers to ask whats going on. I get a phone call from the Wife explaining that I should never call the head office and she deals with all applications (Didnt even know he had a wife). She explains that we have not been approved because upon calling my workplace for reference she didnt know which department to press on our automated machine (Yet she never called to ask). I said, no problem, heres my bosses number and call him whenever. I text my boss and tell him to expect a call. 5 minutes later, boss calls me to say "So sorry, didnt see your text before I recieved the call but the person I spoke to asked if a person Ive never heard of worked for me so i said no". Turns out she asked for me by my middle name instead of my first (Le sigh). As I am typing this essay I have just received a message to tell me she is "55% sure ill get the place and that ill know soon". We have immediately continued the search and hope that whichever poor soul gets the place survives the year
