I was admitted to 2 North and I have to say, the staff here is outstanding. My night nurse when I was admitted (Jessica) was an absolute sweetheart. I was admitted around 2:30am and she did everything she could to make the process quick and smooth so that I could get some sleep.

I would also like to mention my day nurse Linda Mertz, who is an absolute doll and was so accommodating throughout her shift. She was right there every time I hit the call button and took care all of my needs, sometimes even before I asked :)

The PCTs who had been on shift with these nurses (Janeen at night and Danielle during the day) were also phenomenal. As someone who was just certified as a PCT myself, I give these women a lot of credit because I know it s a lot of work.

Mark Morrison in guest services is an incredible patient advocate. Anytime I was uncertain about anything or needed something simple like contact lens solution, he was right on top of it.

Everyone in food services was also very accommodating, especially as my diet restrictions changed (even Ted Zinn, who wasn t there but still communicated with his staff and myself to make sure I was able to receive the necessary nutrition)

I usually hate hospitals, but my stay at Bayshore has been made very easy by the staff, and in my opinion, that s very pertinent to the healing process!

I stayed on 2W and I couldn t have been happier with my experience. Melissa the nurse made my stay phenomenal from the second I came up from the OR. In the preop area, Carolyn, Jodell, Sonya and Joann took away all of my anxiety and made the whole surgery process easier! Dr.Villafane the anesthesiologist was absolutely incredible as well. Lastly, Mark Morrison the patient rep was a highlight of my hospital stay. He was extremely personable and I enjoyed my conversations with him. thank you to everyone else on 2W for making my stay amazing!

I found the staff in the Breast center to be caring and professional; they truly make the uncomfortable procedure more bearable.
The front office staff tend to talk to their desktops as opposed to patients; as a hearing aid wearer I had great difficulty hearing her questions and 'robo-answers'. She was very polite once I pointed out my difficulty.
Perhaps in the next diversity training exercise, working with deaf and/or hard-of-hearing folks can be included. If i had walked in with a white cane I would have received treatment specific to my disability. I shouldn't have to wear a card around my neck saying 'I can't hear you' to receive common courtesy of eye contact.

Such a wonderful and awesome experience at Bayshore Medical Hospital ( Hackensack Meridian). The people in 2 West are amazing from the Surgeon who conducted my surgery ( Dr. R. Greco ) to the God send of a Patient Experience Ambassador ( Mark Morrison) and ofcourse the caring and loving Nurse ( Tamara English ) and last but not least a really cool individual who takes his time to explain everything to you and takes your care seriously Patient Care Associate ( Donti )! You can't go wrong by having your surgery here... you won't be disappointed. I have had such a great experience with them that I am actually writing a review... I never write reviews, but these persons deserve it.
Truly awesome bunch of individuals!

I've lived in the area for 30 years. We always used Bayshore but NOT ANYMORE!! After numeral horrific and traumatizing visits, I'm surprised this hospital hasn't been shut down. The torturous and inhumane things that the ER doctor and the Psychiatrist do to patients in crisis are beyond anything I've seen. This hospital is NOT equipped with "professional" staffs that have the ability to "treat" patients. Instead they are more than traumatized, highly misdiagnosed, highly sedated and shipped off to facilities where they don't even know where they are only to be highly medicated and unfortunately placed in a revolving cycle of doctors their whole lives. This is unfortunate for the patient that is not aware of their rights. Bayshore crisis team, you should be ashamed of yourselves!!

I was on 2 north for 3 days and I wasn t having a great experience until I met ms Patricia walker . She s amazing .... I am a mental patient and believe it or not she calmed me down more than my actual therapist does ! She was so helpful and hands on with everything .... I can actually say I love this lady and I m so happy she was the nurse manager to deal with my case. If I could give her 1 billion stars I would! Patricia you are heaven sent and continue to be a blessing to your patients and everyone else around you She was like a mom to me while I stayed here. Wish I could take her home with me because she literally is a breath of fresh air, she should be a therapist as well as a nurse manager . And when I say she really made me feel so much better, so relieved, so relaxed I mean just that! She s the type to go over and beyond for her patients and I m thankful .

I spent 2 days in the hospital post bariatric surgery. I was on 2 west. There are not enough words I can say to thank every memeber of the staff. Tamara and Vanessa were fantastic nurses! Reggie, Donte and Sarah were also extremely helpful. They all understand this is not easy and not once did they waiver in their kindness and helpfulness. Also Mark the patient advocate is a fantastic human being. What an asset he is for this hospital! I again can not say enough about my stay.

This is a hopeless enterprise. After a really bad car accident three years ago I took an ambulance to Bay Shore. When I arrived I was forced to wait hours for a brain scan and then afterwards I was made to wait for another few hours. When I asked for water or Diet Coke, I was refused. Nearly eight hours after arriving the doctors told me I was fine and sent me home. In reality, though, I had severe concussion. My mental state was compromised for weeks. The bill for this fiasco was thousands of dollars. My insurance covered the costs but still, Bayshore sold debt to collection agency that now calls me a few times a week. When I call Bayshore to complain about this they keep me on hold for fifteen minutes. This has to be the worst hospital in the United States. I wouldn't go back to this place, even in an emergency.

I want to thank Mark Morrison for everything he did for me. He went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He saw that I was in a situation that I needed help and resolved it. He continued to check up on me and made sure that I was ok. I was moved to 3 North where the staff was awesome. I can t remember everybody s name but the nursing staff was the best I have ever experienced. Thank you everyone for getting me through a difficult time. Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Upon making the appt at the wound center I asked i...

Upon making the appt at the wound center I asked if this was going to be just a doctor co-pay for the visit and I was told it would be. I now have a $691 bill sitting on my shoulders since it was billed as outpatient for the facility usage. Since it was literally just a precautionary measure suggested by my podiatrist I didn't mind putting out $50 for my co-pay. With not having any out-of-pocket expenses this year the charge went toward my deductible since I was charged as if I went to the ER or used the facility for testing of sort.

The doctor literally looked at my toe and prescribed a cream to apply. I viewed this appt as being the same as an urgent care and to my surprise, after specifically asking about the charge while making the appt, I am saddled with this large unexpected medical expense.

I never would have made the appointment if I had been provided the correct information and I feel bamboozled. I only gave a middle rating because the doctor seemed fine and I found the staff to be professional and courteous. I could have gone to the doctor's personal office and paid $50. To put the icing on the cake I have the $50 co-pay as a separate charge for the doctor!

If I hadn't specifically asked then I would accept what I was handed, but in this instance I am beyond disheartened.

I came to bayshore medical center for gastric slee...

I came to bayshore medical center for gastric sleeve surgery this past monday and stayed in 2west unit. My overall experience was absolutely amazing to say the least. Firstly, my surgeon was Dr. Richard Greco. He made me feel very comfortable and answered any questions and concerns that I had. In pre op, there were 2 nurses who were getting me prepared and helped ease my anxiety the entire time and both explained their own experience with the gastric sleeve surgery. They both looked like they never even needed the surgery and were seriously the perfect poster girls which was very comforting to experience literally minutes before getting the surgery myself. after my surgery was over, one of the nurses from preop even came to check on me personally. It made me feel so relaxed that she really cared about my well being. Once I was brought to my room, every employee that I came in contact with was nothing short of phenomenal. My nurses Sona, Sam, and Andrea were all on top of everhthing including my medicine and helping me to the rest room when I needed it. They were all so pleasant to speak with and explained everything thoroughly, always making sure that I understood everything and answering all my silly questions. Whenever the nurses were busy, the PCTs were right there to help with literally everything. The PCT who helped me the most was Mike. He was extremely nice and very attentive. Even if I didn't press the call bell he would pop his head into the room when he passed by just to see if I was okay or if I needed anything or even just to say hi and gice me some company. I appreciated him so much during my stay. Another PCT who made my stay easier on me was Reggie. Everytime It was time for me to go for a walk, he was right there to help me down the hall or to the bathroom or even just to stop my machine from beeping. To be completely honest, the best part of my stay at Bayshore hospital was the patient experience representative, Mark Morrison. Mark and I actually got to get to know each Other on a more personal level and he made me feel so at home. He was rooting for me and for my recovery and shared his own story of getting the same surgery and just made me feel so hopeful. I can honestly say that I wish that there were generally more people in this world like Mark. He made me feel so much better about my recovery and just about life in general. Even after my stay in the hospital he has been in contact with mw asking how i have been recovering and if there is anything that i needed. He has such a positive outlook on things and it is so refreshing to meet someone that is like me. I am very grateful for my stay at Bayshore Medical center and for being able to start my journey to a new life in such a positive way with these people. Thank you.

I brought my boyfriend to this facility 6/19/2017 ...

I brought my boyfriend to this facility 6/19/2017 with severe neck pain and a previous diagnosis of a bone spur in his cervical spine at approximately 1230pm. About 30 minutes after arriving an employee came out to the waiting room telling my other half they were getting a bed ready for him. After waiting and hour after that I finally went up to the administration desk and asked how much longer as my other half has been in excruciating pain and I had noticed people who were way better off than he was being triaged before him. Before I could even finish my question the woman at the desk answered in a very smug fashion "ma'am we are at capacity he is just going to have to wait." I politely replied " I absolutely understand (as I am a medical professional myself) however I just wanted to know the status of his case" she then asked what his name was and I gave it to her and she looked into the computer and proceeded to tell me that he was in being triaged now when he was clearly still in the waiting room. About ten minutes later we were directed back to a pod of chairs located right near the nurses station. The gentlemen next to us was treated kindly by the nurse practitioner and was given a sling for his arm and was asked to wait. A triage nurse approached my boyfriend and asked him what was wrong and no sooner did he give her an answer did she have a condescending remark.45 minutes later the same NP approached my other half and said "tell me about your throat". My boyfriend and I both looking bewildered explained there was nothing wrong with his throat. My boyfriend then proceeded to repeat yet again what the issue he was having was. Two days before he had an X-ray done in an urgent care center where they found the bone spur I gave the report to the NP because the doctor at the urgent care said he should have a cat scan because he may need a CT. The np at your facility insisted on another X-ray telling us that 'the radiologist would laugh at him if he ordered a CT for a bone spur. After waiting yet another hour and a half he was not yet called for an X-Ray an RN told my boyfriend to follow her into a room to give an injection. She never told him what and for why he had to inquire what it was and she said Teradol. My significant other said absolutely not and left. He had not even been admitted yet examined nor had a diagnosis and this 'medical professional' was going to inject him no questions asked. And that isn't all. When the np did come to ask questions it was in a public hallway. I knew every diagnosis every test that needed to be done every complaint and the names of the patients just from sitting there. Needless to say we left the facility and ended up coming to a new one today. I would not bring my dog to bayshore community Hospital. I wish you the best of luck on correcting it all

All I can say is my experience as a family member in Bayshore was outstanding! Everyone from the start when we were in the emergency room was so informative and patient with us . Both nurses were attentive to my loved one and Us. Then we arrived to 3 east and the staff treated us like family, nurse Lacy and Arielle were the best always making sure we were informed . The manager Ashley periodically always stopped in and I never witnessed this in a hospital . The staff from housekeeping and food service all greeted us with hellos and smiles . Then ofcourse we met Patient Rep Mark who always took the time to make sure we as a family were updated and informed , we as a family have been in many other hospitals from Riverview and Jersey shore but never had this experience ! What ever Bayshore is doing is surely working and we have noticed the difference.

Thanks so much for all you did for us !!

My Mom (Gail Mullen) was discharged last week from Bayshore and she has nothing but good things to say about the whole hospital. Every Aide, Nurse, Doctor, & Cleaning department treated her like a queen. She was on 3N and 4S. She can't say enough about the hospital and one of her favorite people there is Mark Morrison, who she thinks adds that down home feeling to the hospital!! She also would like to mention Dietary who always was cheerful and courteous!!

Horrible. Went to the emergency room with numbness in my leg and pain. They took my blood pressure in the hallway and then the doctor poked me in the leg with a toothpick. That was all. I left with a $600 bill and nothing was done. No tests, nothing. Mother recently had a stroke so I was fearing it was a blood clot since I did nothing to injure my leg.

Now they are sending me to collections because I refuse to pay for such poor service. Terrible.

My dad has been to Bayshore three times in the last several months and the overall improvement during this last visit has been remarkable. Dee and Amy, the Er reps worked tirelessly to make sure dad was comfortable while in the Er. These women made sure that all our questions were answered and often popped in with a warm blanket, a cup of tea or some much needed support. The great service continued with Maureen and Cheryl at the main desk providing phone chargers and scheduling appointments for dad. Two north was amazing. The nurses were caring and attentive, specifically Veronica and Philamina. Each and every nurse and assistant my dad encountered on 2 North, were exceptional, I wish I could remember their names.. Lastly, I want to thank the dynamic duo, Mr. Mark Morrison and Mr. Ted Zinn. Mark and Ted are two of the kindest, most compassionate and supportIve people i ve ever I countered. Ted making sure dad was always well feed and even arranging special evening snacks for him. Mark, the heart of Bayshore is a rockstar! The time, effort, kindness, warmth, support and information he gives to each patient and their families is incredible! His positive energy and zest was the best part of dad s stay! Thank you Bayshore!

Spending time sick and in pain in the hospital can be a scary experience. From the minute I set foot in the emergency, through surgery and during my recovery on 3-North the entire staff has done everything in there power to make me as comfortable as possible. I ve been in other hospitals(as a visitor and not a patient) where the doctors have not been conducive to answering questions and borderline rude. That was not the case here at all. The nurses and patient care associates are incredibly friendly, quick to answer anytime I page and always ask if I need anything. The concierge care associate and mark my patient advocate have stopped in several times to Check in on me. Even the dietary aide and the housekeeping staff have been incredibly friendly when they ve been by.
It can be hard to keep I smile on your face in stressful times and often thankless jobs and everyone that I ve encountered at Bayshore has been incredible.

My name is Tara, I am utterly impressed with this hospital. I was in the E.R 2 weeks ago. The nurses were very attentive, Dr. YU quickly ordered a CT scan;was very professional I had lower back pain. His bed side manner was outstanding. He was correct and proactive in my diagnosis; having a medical back ground I recognize quality. I am ever so grateful. The hospital was immaculate. Mark Morrison the patient representative offered me some soup, the soup of the day had gluten. When I told him I had Celiac he immediately called the kitchen and Joe Leroy the cook, made me homemade vegetable soup. This hospital has come such a long way. I bring my sister here for Chemotherapy every other Friday and I am Always so impressed with the staff.

I went to the wound center with my handicapped husband, incontinent, Lewy Bodies Disease. With fear of infection for an open area on the buttocks, I was looking for
compassionate and insightful medical guidance. What I got was a physician who was present but completely uninvolved, the nursing staff, at least 3, were overwhelmingly buoyant and impressed with themselves, and finally had as their input the buying of a very expensive cushion! 3 weeks later, still battling, I took him to Jersey Shore Wound Center where my husband was treated with dignity, given medical direction, a physician that was respectful and caring, and a nursing staff that was responsive. The attitude at Bayshore seemed to be that this was trivial. To me, it wasn't!

I started off on 2 West and the staff there were all very helpful and professional. They all made sure I was taken care off and had everything I needed. I wish I can remember all their names but one who did stand out was donti because of his funny personality. I was then transferred to 2 north where I received the same kind of care and enjoyed the conversations I had with some of the girls that took care of me like Deana which we found out we are both from the same town. I don't do well with names and faces but some of the girls that were taking care of me was Danielle, Holly, Mary and I'm not sure if I mentioned the names but the 2 woman from the night shift! They were also great !! Also a big thank you to Mark from patient experience for making me feel welcomed and always energetic! You need that when you have been in a hospital for a couple days. The hospital room it's self were very clean and maintained and for it being my first time in this hospital, I was very pleased with my experience here. 2 days ago I was admitted for back surgery. From the moment I walked in the door I was handled with the greatest care. From the nurses in the same day surgery area to my recovery nurses they were all great and had amazing bedside manners. Once out of recovery I was transferred to 2 West and the night nurse Laura and the night tech Reggie were simply amazing. They both went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. In the morning Laura personally handed me over to Caroline another nurse whom was just as great as Laura. The morning after my surgery I had the pleasure of meeting the Patient Advocate Mark whom is funny and very sociable. He came talked with me for a while, he seemed genuinely interested in how I was doing and what if anything the hospital could do to make my stay better? My answer absolutely nothing, I was being well cared for by every nurse, tech and aide even if the were not assigned directly to me. The Bayshore from 3 years ago when my mom was here till now is much improved. The entire hospital is immaculate and I had the pleasure of meeting members of the kitchen staff who personally come and take your meal orders and prepared everything just how I asked.
Thank you to Laura and Caroline for everything you both did while I was there.

5 Stars to Bayshore and the absolutely amazing staff.

I m a patient on 2W right now just had the bariatric surgery done by Dr. Greco. He was absolutely amazing during the whole process. I m not in that much pain which is great. The nurses and staff were fantastic .. giving us the best care. My night time nurse was great(can t remember her name) and also Sona is wonderful. I just met Mark (patient advocate) for the first time, he is a wonderful man and was very informative about bariatric surgery since he had gotten it done himself. He gave me a journal to write in and take pictures now and when I lose the weight so I have something to look back on. This was the best idea because I wouldn t have thought of that myself. I am very pleased with everything and couldn t be happier that I got my surgery done at Bayshore Medical Center.

I was in 2 West when I stayed here. I received such exceptional service. Mark, the guest relations representative was amazing!!!! So amazing, he made my stay 100% more comfortable and Sara my PCA helped me at any time with a smile. I hate hospitals but they really helped my recovery pass a little quicker. Also, MARK WAS AMAZING!!!! I still can t stress enough how great I felt every time I saw him. He really did brighten up my day. I hope everyone can experience their hospital stay the way I did.

I came here to be treated for pneumonia. As much as I dislike hospitals I ve enjoyed my time here. I was admitted to floor 2 West. The nurse Susan is very nice and she take her time with me. I have small veins so it is very hard to draw blood or get an IV tge iv that I have is in my hand so it s very tender and she takes her time applying the medicine and I really appreciate it. My patient care associates Melissa and Veronica are amazing there making sure that I m ok and having conversations with me. The patient care advocate Mark was amazing. He came in to make sure that I was be treated the proper way and everyone was helpful ! And then afterwards we had a really good conversation which brightened my day because I ve been feeling down in the hospital ! My house keepers were also amazing Cilla and Ignazia kept the room clean and always came to visit me

The health care staff, from the front desk to the nurses and doctors, were extremely professional and promptly attended to my needs. The wait time was short and I had all my required testing completed within an hour. Bayshore is my hospital of choice.

Something's really off about this place. When I ...

Something's really off about this place. When I pulled up for my MR!, there was a sign with a variety of items like Emergency, parking, etc. None mentioned Imaging or Radiology. There was a sign on the building that the Emergency was in, but I had to ask. There were signs for free valet parking, some guy eventually came out and said I could park it myself.

The sign in procedure defies logic. There were three girls sitting around giggling and texting --- seemed to be between 16 and 18. The eventually asked my name, etc, then send me to another room where I was asked the exact same questions. There was a boy about 14 or 15 who asked me to sign in.

I was sent to another room and answered the same questions on a paper that I had to fill out.

Then a young tech came out and he put me in the machine. It felt like it was designed for a child. I was squeezed into it and told not to move. It was horrible. I couldn't breathe and the noise was unbearable, but I managed to get through it. Then the tech said some of the images were blurry and he wanted to do it all over again because I moved. Yes, I moved, I was so scrunched up that I could barely swallow. I told him no way. He took me out, and had no empathy. It was as if he wanted to get rid of me. Terrible bedside manner. Avoid this hospital, it seems to to be run by children.

And now I'm out $100 for the co-pay.

I had two of the best nurses that anybody could ask for while staying in the hospital. Erin & Tracey on 4 West. Both of them were very caring, sweet & took time asking me about my condition which no other nurse has done with me. I wish I could pack them up & have them stay at my home forever.

I had a heart attack late on a Thursday evening...I probably hit right at the shift change! However, I couldn't have been happier with the care I received from everyone that I came in contact with! Especially the nurses and patient care associates in the ICU! They were all amazing, caring people! People that truly love their job! I wish I could thank them all personally!
