I came to bayshore medical center for gastric slee...

I came to bayshore medical center for gastric sleeve surgery this past monday and stayed in 2west unit. My overall experience was absolutely amazing to say the least. Firstly, my surgeon was Dr. Richard Greco. He made me feel very comfortable and answered any questions and concerns that I had. In pre op, there were 2 nurses who were getting me prepared and helped ease my anxiety the entire time and both explained their own experience with the gastric sleeve surgery. They both looked like they never even needed the surgery and were seriously the perfect poster girls which was very comforting to experience literally minutes before getting the surgery myself. after my surgery was over, one of the nurses from preop even came to check on me personally. It made me feel so relaxed that she really cared about my well being. Once I was brought to my room, every employee that I came in contact with was nothing short of phenomenal. My nurses Sona, Sam, and Andrea were all on top of everhthing including my medicine and helping me to the rest room when I needed it. They were all so pleasant to speak with and explained everything thoroughly, always making sure that I understood everything and answering all my silly questions. Whenever the nurses were busy, the PCTs were right there to help with literally everything. The PCT who helped me the most was Mike. He was extremely nice and very attentive. Even if I didn't press the call bell he would pop his head into the room when he passed by just to see if I was okay or if I needed anything or even just to say hi and gice me some company. I appreciated him so much during my stay. Another PCT who made my stay easier on me was Reggie. Everytime It was time for me to go for a walk, he was right there to help me down the hall or to the bathroom or even just to stop my machine from beeping. To be completely honest, the best part of my stay at Bayshore hospital was the patient experience representative, Mark Morrison. Mark and I actually got to get to know each Other on a more personal level and he made me feel so at home. He was rooting for me and for my recovery and shared his own story of getting the same surgery and just made me feel so hopeful. I can honestly say that I wish that there were generally more people in this world like Mark. He made me feel so much better about my recovery and just about life in general. Even after my stay in the hospital he has been in contact with mw asking how i have been recovering and if there is anything that i needed. He has such a positive outlook on things and it is so refreshing to meet someone that is like me. I am very grateful for my stay at Bayshore Medical center and for being able to start my journey to a new life in such a positive way with these people. Thank you.
