A favorite place for quality meals. I love this place. The service was very helpful and observant. They have so many reviews for a reason.

Man this was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! Great food, great service, the absolute BEST presentation!! I highly recommend this place to anyone going to L.A.!! It's an awesome experience and I will definitely be back. Presentation is EVERYTHING
Everything was cool UNTIL the waiter didn't bring the bread UNTIL after our meal was done, and he forgot to bring MY drink!
Pricey, so come prepared for that, but you'll never experience a more unique food presentation. Food was pretty good overall too.
By far the best experience I've ever had
food was delicious
Truffle lobster mac and cheese was so good
Beer butt chicken was flavorful juicy
The carnival fun cakes tasted like being at an amusement park overall everything was delicious and plenty of flavor and seasoning.
This is a perfect Restaurant for any kind of celebration. Every thing that you order doesn t come in a simple plate, it comes in a statue/ figures and very creative. As far as the food goes, the fries was a savory chorus which was new to me and I loved it. As far as the dessert, we got the dollar bill and the combination of pop corn, chocolate dessert and ice cream was very unique and delicious. For the main course I got the Branzino but if I compare it with the Branzino that I had in Catch LA, this was not even close. It also smelled a little too. As far as the service goes the manager was very rude and that s one of the main reasons I won t give them a 5.
Such an awesome restaurant! The food is just amazingly good. Very pleasant, calm setting. Well mannered staff. This place is an excellent find for LA. Known for being one of the most romantic dinner settings. I thought it had a very cool vibe! It is a bit pricey, but expected for the place and the quality of food.
Super Fun! We took a group of eight, which included two 12 year olds, who I think enjoyed it the most. A very unique experience; as one of the most photographed places in So Cal, you can Google the images and see why. I would say we looked at too many pictures beforehand; leave yourself some surprises. And dessert is a must. Minus one star for cramped seating.
Though the food was "decent" the service was atrocious!
It took a FULL hour to get food on the table. When the food arrived it arrived wrong.
We ordered tempura fish. They could have told us the tempura batter was used for shellfish since we indicated alergy to shellfish but instead they brought out non battered fish and simply told us that they couldn't batter oil it because the oil is contaminated with shellfish.
Had they told us that when we ordered it we'd have chosen something else
So....when I told the rude manager these oversights on time and improper food he wouldn't discount the bill saying "well, you ate it"
Idk should I have sent it back only to wait yet another hour??
He ended up giving us desert on t hr house which I was COMPLETELY unsatisfied with.
The very least they could have done was apologize for the delay but even here they fell short claiming it wasn't an hour.
But it was.....even the waiter said I'm so sorry this is taking so long.
Bottom line, management doesn't have a clue about customer service,
The food was wrong, the place is overpriced to begin with, we left feeling cheated, disrespected, and and just an overall feeling of lack of ANY care for customer appreciation.
Besides that we ordered lamb, specialty drinks, appetizer (Ceasar salad was not fresh, etc etc....
Overall bad experience
There are MUCH better places to eat near there
I love fried catfish with coconut rice. The dish was tasty and satisfying; the fish was perfectly cooked. It was a very memorable for me.
I had no idea what I was getting into when we decided to come to Barton g
I wanted to come for the past 2 years . Tonight was the night and it was amazing. Over the top drinks and food. We had the pop corn shrimp to start . I had the steak was perfection. And my boyfriend had the short ribs Everything was great. Our server Ian was outstanding and very professional The best part of the evening was meeting Adrian . Thank you Adrian for making our night sooo special. If you go to Barton G you must try the diamond drink and meet Adrian :)
Nice place great people excellent lighting I truly enjoyed it.
Barton G provokes a debate in my mind: substance versus show.
I prefer substance. I just enjoyed Bashan's delicious 7 course tasting menu. I paid $85 and was wowed by fine dining presentation and flavors. A variety of savory courses tickled my palate and satisfied my appetite.
On the other hand, there's Barton G. I'm in the camp that believes Barton G is outrageous. It's all show with no substance. I essentially paid $65 for food I could've gotten at Chuck E Cheese or Denny's, the only difference being the over-the-top presentations. The huge oversized fork, popcorn machine, and mouse trap are cute and interesting - that is, until the bill arrives.
Our server, Oliver, was 5 stars. He was polite, proper, and thorough. The rating is based on the overpriced food that delivers only in one category: presentation.
I had a great time catching up with friends, but the food really let me down. The popcorn shrimp was really forgettable - $21 for some mediocre tasting shrimp. The mac n cheese was standard as far as mac n cheese goes, but overpriced as well ($19). The ribeye was ok, but definitely not worth $54 for an average tasting 16oz. The pricing here is nearing the Mastro's range, but the quality is significantly lower. If you've seen the pictures on Yelp, then you've already experienced Barton G.
Unique and Great presentation on food style, however, not the best tasting food and expensive..
My daughter reserved a table using OpenTable. We arrived on time but they started whispering to each other and asked my wife if all six of us were there. She said my husband is parking the car and will be there momentarily. Naturally they wanted everyone available before seating us. I arrived 10 minutes later and informed them that our party was all there. Another 10 - 15 minutes later they said that they can seat us at the open area and not the main dining hall because our 10 and 7 year old boys were in smart Armani shorts compared to others who were ushered to their seats wearing rugged sweatpants. Long pants apparently are a must....That too they said was going to be a long long wait. According to the lady it was clearly mentioned on their website as well as the confirmation email as well as the telephone call we got..... NOT!!!!
They then said we can go back to the hotel and change the boys and come back.... it was obvious what had happened here.... they were over booked and didn't have a table. Naturally they denied that.... But who will hold a table for you and wait an hour for your to come back?! They were simply overbooked.
And instead of being apologetic and accommodating they were abrupt and rude. So we walked out telling them as much.
Anyway, it worked out to our favor as our friends that are there told us the food and service were mediocre and we didn't miss much. We ended up at Koi which is always a great ambiance, good food and wonderful service!
Food was not that great, gimmicks were overrated, and get ready to open up your wallet and spread your legs cuz you are going to get anally violated when the bill hits the table
Great atmosphere, great service and the food is exceptionally good. Try the lamb, (melts in your mouth)
Over priced lol but I don't have expensive taste so maybe that's why. Good none the less.
Very popular local eatery. Food is excellent. Excellent fresh vegan fare with a host of other options. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Very casual atmosphere. I will definitely drop by again soon.
If you want fine Fine Dining this is not where you want to visit.
The attractions that displayed the meals were cleaver, but quickly became cumbersome at the table and got old. One of the the displays the restaurant provides with your drinks has a video of strippers dancing. I am married and I really don t care to view that, especially at restaurant with this price point. I don t visit hooters for the same reason, what a low class display. Atmosphere is loud, but that is because the building is small.
Most importantly you come to a restaurant to eat and the price point of the menu demands top tier food. The food was comparable to many affordable restaurant chains. The food was quantity over quality. Nothing special to point out. For example the mushrooms were chewy, the steak had tendons, showing their source for food is very poor. My personal experience the NY Steak was poor. I asked medium rare and it came out raw. I could have sent it back, but I don t send food back. A restaurant with this price point the food should be prefect the first time. The head chef should have caught that before he released the food. The waiter seemed annoyed I didn t tell her. The door where the kitchen was located you could see was chaotic, and nothing like the perfect symphony at many restaurants with similar price points and it showed in the food.
If you love fine food look somewhere else. If you want an experience go to Disneyland.
July 18, 2019, my daughter s birthday, 6:30pm.
The very first thing I will tell you is that this place is very, very pricey.
I did not taste the $35 worth of my striped bass. It had a fishy after taste.
My daughter ordered the $33 lobster Mac and cheese. It was ok, nothing special and fancy.
They call themselves Fine Dining . I did not see it.
The place was crowded, tables were too close to each other, and noise volume was too loud.
We saw a lot of families with small children, because of the presentation of the drinks, the food and the dessert, which the kids enjoyed.
Our server was nice, and friendly.
With my $25 drink, I ordered bread and butter. They told us it was $4! I said ok. With Fine Dining , I believe you do not charge for bread and butter!
At least, my daughter and I had a great time together, in spite of.
Two drinks, bread and butter, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, equals $234! Too much!
Of course, I knew the prices beforehand.
I would not have minded it because we always go to very nice expensive places, but I did not feel and taste it!
We will not go back, and will not recommend Barton G. You will just pay for all their presentations.
Background - Was married to a General Manager of a deluxe 5 star hotel.
Worked as Executive Assistant of a General Manager of a Peninsula Hotel.
Well traveled. Knows how to cook. Mother!
Amazing display for the plates. Pricey for what you get. The popcorn shrimp is great. The lobster Mac and Cheese is also good. Very small and compact once inside. The food displays do take up a lot of space.
For Thanksgiving it was quite the surprise. I didn't order traditional I just ordered from the regular menu. When the props came out with their food on them I laughed so hard till I had to go pee.
Unique ambience as the unique food & drinks.... Being a vegetarian, they gave me plenty of options. Must try Brussels sprouts & trio hummus.....will definitely come again...
Amazing experiential eating and ideal place for an event/celebration
Quality Meals and the scene here is better than most. It was so appetizing. The service was very helpful and welcoming. It has a nice feel to it.
They have very good attention and very good food as they serve their dishes
#Abventurous- I'm astonished by the bad reviews. I love this place! Yes it is very much on the expensive side, but of your paying for the experience which is well much worth it for me! I do feel it is a tad bit overpriced though. This is an occasion type of restaurant for me. I came with three friends for my best friend's birthday. The service was impeccable! Not only were the props amazing-the food and wine was also great. Would definitely come back!
The food is okay but everything is overly priced. I had to wait 15 minutes for my table tho I had reservation.
Amazing creativity, great [but $25] drinks, even better dessert. However, the entrees were barely edible considering there was more salt on my fish than you'd get on McDonald's French fries. For a $65 per entree, I was brutally disappointed with the entree. Then the dessert came and I was shockingly impressed. TL;DR? Eat an entree somewhere else then come here for drinks+dessert, if it's within budget. For the drinks+desserts, you will NOT be disappointed.
Great restaurant and atmosphere. The presentation of the meals and desserts were beyond amazing! It is a tad bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I wouldn't recommend younger children attend being that there isn't a kids menu available. This place is rather compact but the ambiance is great. The waitstaff are friendly and tentative. As far as I'm aware, they offer valet and meter parking. I would definitely go back!
Awesome presentation and awesome for guests visiting!
The creativity of the meals goes WAY beyond imagination. Very beautiful experience
Worst experience ever! We went for a dessert and they refused to surve us at the table instead, they wanted us to be seated at the bar although the restaurant was empty!
Excellent spot for quality quality meals. The service here is friendly.
Our first time traveling to L.A., and we showed up to Barton G. without a reservation. We were nervous we d get turned away, but they were able to accommodate us and gave us a table right away! The staff was beyond friendly! I mean EVERYONE! The Hostesses, servers, wait staff and clean staff. They pick up after you right away and consistently check-in on your experience. My mom and I really enjoyed the occasional Miss when communicating with us and addressing us. We stumbled upon this restaurant from a dating show on E! Network, and it was BEYOND our expectations. They took the time to answer questions and chat with you as if you were the only person to exist in that room. 10/10 would recommend. The food was delicious, and the presentation of the food was impossibly even better than what we had seen on the show.
If we ever find ourselves in the L.A. area again, we will surely revisit.

Kamryn was so sweet and amazing - 10/10 highly recommend. Awesome experience!!
The imaginative way the food is presented is most of the fun in this restaurant, but even beyond that the reception here is great. The staff is attentive and helpful, the food is delicious, and everything is brought together to make sure you have a good time. The surroundings match the stylings of the dishes, quirky but not lacking in thought or style. This is a fun time for those looking for a unique treat on a special occasion
Fantastical presentation, great tasting food, and comfortable environment.
Serving delicious food in fun way. Don t worry about your car parking, they have valet service
Fantastic! I read peoples reviews on it being too crowded with all the food props BUT that's what makes the experience amazing. Me and my husband had a great time for our 1st anniversary and the food was absolutely delicious. I loved their popcorn shrimp! (Pictured below) Besttttt lobster mac and cheese I have ever had. I ate that way too fast forgot about a photo sorry lol So many amazing different choices!
I booked a table in April 2018 to celebrate my birthday on August 3. There were many letters and confirmations. As a result, when I arrived at 7 pm, they did not let me. Made to wait. I went a second time, explained that I had booked the table. I was told with a displeased face and an angry voice waiting. Somewhere in 19.25 my friends could not stand it and came again. Only with the third time, all the way showing how we are not welcome here, we were allowed. Service: Eat more and get out. It's unpleasant to sit and realize that waiters are looking at you. Dirty dishes were removed for a very long time. In general, spoiled my birthday. The presentation of dishes is interesting, but in my opinion it is simple in taste. If you want to go to this restaurant - do not go. You are not welcome here.
Presentations were fun, expensive as hell, food was just ok
I only selected one start because I had to . Barton G is very overrated . Let me note the valet parking is 17.00. On top of that don't leave any of your valuables out . My car was bought back to me with a missing phone case . On top of that when I called Barton G's to try to negotiate something about my case being stole they act like they could do so little. My time eating there was very rushed they stand around the table and wait and grab things from you as you eat .
Super fun! The service was awesome! My sister and I really wanted a picture with a giant fork and the waiter went and got us one. Every dish came with a prop and the lobster pop tarts were the best. I gave four stars, because it is very pricey. My sister and I split an appetizer, an entree, and a desert and we both ended up spending 63.50. But it was fun as a one time thing. I will be back when I make a little more!
At first I was wondering why this great restaurant has rating 4.1, but after we went there yesterday I would give them negative amount of stars if I could (to hostesses and manager, not to their servers, they are great and professional).
We made a reservation online to celebrate my husband s birthday. When we arrived, the hostesses at the reception told us that they cannot give us a table that we reserved, because it was just two of us, and will not give us our table until our last guest will arrive, I explained them that I m not quite sure when exactly he will be and told that we came here to celebrate birthday and have fun and not to argue with hostesses, but they offered instead to give us table for two and after the rest of our group will arrive they will transfer us to bigger table OR to wait in the lobby until our last guest will arrive (in the lobby? Is that how you treat your guests?). In 15 minutes, when the party mood was destroyed, we ve asked to speak with the manager, and the person at reception who was there this whole time told she is a manager Charlotte and she will try to see what she can do. Then she told that she will make an exception for us, and give us a table for 6, even though it is just 5 of us at the moment. BUT BOOM! BIRTHDAY BONUS!!! Special GIFT from the Barton G - a table that meant for FOUR PEOPLE where they have just added 2 more plates, 1 more chair in the corner next to the restroom!!! Super small spot, 6 of us could barely fit there! We have ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees, but the servers had to take off the decorations from all of this fancy dishes momentarily as they could not fit on 2 tiny tables for 4 people as it was 6 of us sitting there. Super frustrating, I would not recommend this place to anyone!! Can t you just treat your guests appropriately if they are spending $1k for a celebration dinner??!
The only good thing about this place are servers - our server Anna along with her peers were super nice and professional - kudos to Anna, keep being awesome!
Went for my 26th bday with 3 of my best friends and the experience overall was horrible too many people service not so good , the food was gross I got the lobster Mac n cheese it was not seasoned at all. We were seated at a small table in a corner with barely any light to see the menu or fit our food, just wasn't good I'll never go back !
Absolutely amazing!! Great fun, great environment & great service!!
The concept of bringing a "show" with each meal is nice but the food should taste good to, most of the items on the menu aren't good.
Pricing is really high for what you get.
WHAT TO TRY??
Honestly, you should try everything. Every dish is different and unique in their own ways in terms of presentation. You definitely need to look forward to the desserts. Especially Marie Antoinette s head. Omg..just look at pictures and you will see why. I also highly recommend the dolla dolla bills y all. Very dramatic presentation as well!!
Barton G is definitely an instagram worthy spot for the way they present their food...they add a dose more extra in the way they present their food.
Taste wise, I thought food was decent but for the price ok paying, it s really not for the food but rather what will the food come out in. A sword? A popcorn machine, a bird cage? A happy Buddha?
You ll need to go at least once to understand the overwhelming number of guests coming here to dine there. It just goes to show how many ppl are excited to see how their food will be presented at the table!
LAST TIP?!
If you are celebrating anything, make sure you tell the restaurant staff so at least they can add sparklers to your dessert and make it extra special! And don t forget to take the sunglasses off of Marie Antoinettes head when you re done with the dessert. It s yours to keep and it s worth $12 apparently (even though I don t see the cost price of the sunglasses cost that much). And the total amount to your bill can get pretty pricey after you re finished your meal so be prepared to splurge alot on this meal!
Nice and creative restaurant, tasty food , staff were great , only one guy at reception is rude and I think he is the manager, relax and cheer up buddy
Fun place with giant amusing ways they serve dishes. It is on the pricier side but the food is delicious. The servers seemed a little stressed out and not-so-friendly, bordering on snobbish. But the food presentations were fun enough to ignore their attitude. If the servers were friendlier, this might have been a 5 star.
When I came from Australia i had my birthday celebration at this place, I must say the food taste nice but the presentation was even better and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff were super friendly I recommend everyone to come here and try out this place its awesome!
If you like mediocre food at five star prices then this is the place for you. The presentation is neat, but somewhat silly for adults. I went here because my twelve-year-old asked me to go. I can definitely see how it would appeal to a child. For $250 (for me and a child), I would prefer to go somewhere that actually has good food.
Uniqe dishes presentation and the food it self os average. Good experience but overpriced. Moroccan lamb is must try.
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, a 20 minute drive out of Mall town. Barton G. The Restaurant - Los Angeles is recommended
Food ranges from good to excellent; ridiculous place settings and dioramas clutter the table and detract from the experience. Cocktails are so-so and don't benefit from being served this way.
We came for Christmas dinner and everything was outstanding. I had the sushi to start and ribeye as main course. Desserts are amazing , our sever Sara was lovely and Adrian as well. Thank you guys for such a lovely evening
Lots of fun with cool plates and amazing food! Only downside, though, is that many people are only there for the gram, so they are quite obnoxious with their picture taking (like they don t even eat the food they just take pictures with it).
Was visiting from Canada in March and was double charged. This place was not cheap so being double charged is not a good feeling. I called them multiple times and no one got back to me. Very pretentious place, would definitely never come back here. To anyone who does decide to eat at this restaurant make sure you check how much they charged you so you don t end up like me.
The foods were presented with great care and artistic approach. There was special care given to each dish and the dishes had premium taste. The experiance will be the most unique thing you experiance. The only downside is the artistic asthetics get in the way of practicality and the tables are set a bit too close together. There is also the obvious downside of long waiting times and high prices for the premium dishes that you're getting, but that's expected. The staff were very enthusiastic and kind.
I had a great time! Everything was AMAZING. The staff was very friendly and had us seated quickly. The waitress came out and took our orders and recommended a few things to us. I got the steak and it was cooked to perfection! We don't know much about SF, but when we asked the staff about a good night scene everyone was eager to help! Ambiance, food, and service is undefeated!
"...you pay for the sizzle, not the steak.. " Food not great, but interesting presentation. They tried very hard to maximize the use of their space. Evertyhing is very tight and super close to each other. Tables smaller than usual. Not easy to walk around.
Mediocre food and poor service (although 20% gratuity was automatically included). It was a neat environment and the unusual platings and presentations were extremely entertaining, I would rather have had the time and effort put into the food. Especially at the price point.
Very expensive but very unique and delicious. Their presentations are wacky and fun, and the food and cocktails are top notch.
My husband and I went to Barton G to celebrate our anniversary we feel you needed more space in the restaurant for your big presentations. The table next to us had toddler that was crying and throwing things the whole time and the table on the other side of use kept talking to use about the different plates that came out to our table. The food was great but we didn't get to enjoy our suppose to be romantic dinner
It was an amazing and fun experience. The food was delicious!
Made a reservation to this restaurant on line , booking was simple, later received a phone call to confirm the reservation, I confirmed it everything was great . Get to the restaurant with my 2 young daughters , we order 3 mocktails and when the waiter returns for our order I tell her we are ordering 2 items from the desert section; she then proceeds to inform me that I cannot sit at that table and only order deserts , that its policy , that its listed when you make the reservation ( it's not) that they tell you that when they call to confirm ( they do not ) that I need to order 3 entres to sit at the table. I tell her fine , charge me for 3 of whatever I'll pay it but I dont want it , that's wasteful , we only want to eat the dessert. She says no she cant do that, and we can go stand at the bar and have the dessert. Well , that's what we did waited 45 minutes standing around ( mind you my kids had been at universal all day and they were tired ) having to shimmy around every time a waiter or person passed by . $100 for 2 desserts , not worth it . Had I seen that policy before hand we would have gladly gone somewhere else with chairs . The bar tenders were really nice , and made the whole awkward pitiful experience not so painful. My girls were just excited to be there. I smiled for them , but I really was beside myself. To be in California, standing at a bar with my kids.
Very pricey som food is good some are average what is amazing is food pretension
Very small place! They make you order entrees even if, there's nothing on the menu of your liking. The waitress was absolutely horrible!! Took her time coming back to the table and told us they couldn't break down the bill. Took 5 minutes to just, get the bill confirmed. She was consistently ignoring our table to the point where, other waiters came over to assist us. Will never come back or suggest this place to anyone!
Amazing service with delicious and beautiful creative food, very recommend!
I've been here on a couple of occasions, & generally have had good experiences with the food & ambiance. Love the modern set-up here. There's a nice lounge area downstairs. Great place for after-work drinks, happy hour, or an intimate party. My friend booked the bar area downstairs for his post-proposal/engagement party, & I thought it was such a good idea!
I came here for my birthday not really knowing what to expect. I walked in and it immediately gave me a Miami feel. I came on a Monday night at 7:30 and the restaurant was about 20 percent full. I noticed extravagant things going on at different tables and was intrigued. We were greeted by an AMAZING waiter by the Dylan. We was fun, professional, and accommodating to all of our needs. We ordered the stairway to heaven and the Buddhalicious cocktails they were delicious and fun to drink.
For food we ordered the popcorn shrimp, himachi, steak, and Caesar salad. The food was fantastic seasoned and flavorful. It was a fun experience there were some groups which this place is perfect for for the amount of food you get. Although we didn't order desert, it is on our to do list in the future. So exciting to see what others were order at different tables. This place is such a cool concept. Take your friends or family or even a date you won't be disappointed. It's a
True " Dinning Experience " come hungry and open minded and just have fun. If your on a Diet this isn't the place for you lol.
I came here for my birthday and was told NOT to look at their yelp page prior because it would ruin the surprise! This was the best advice! Although seeing the fantastic over the top drink and food presentations in person is something else. It's quite pricey, so I wouldn't come here just on any regular night, but for a special occasion, it's a meal you'll be talking about for days after.
Marchon was the best waiter -- very helpful and fun. He made our night even better.
The Buddhalicious and Moscow mule drinks were both excellent. I loved the little Buddha that came with my drink, and the liquid N2.
For our entrees, we had the Mouse Trap mac and cheese with added veggies, and the Miss Thai Gone. Mac and cheese was VERY cheesy, veggies were good. The fish dish had too many flavors in my opinion. Each little side dish had a completely different taste. The fish and tempura were great.
Even though we were getting full from dinner, we had to try the dessert! We opted for El Cubanito, which was a fantastic surprise of a display, and could probably feed 6-8 people since the flan was so huge! The flan was so thick and creamy and delicious! The chocolate cigars were also very fun to enjoy. I didn't care so much for the guava pastries, they were kind of dry.
