This was undoubtedly more fun than expected, but I still find it hard to justify paying extra for those giant props.
The staff was super friendly, fast, and willing to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The food was good but salty, and the cake was stunning but sweet.
Noise volume was high although everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives so it all made sense. Not sure I'd go back but worth checking out at least once!
Everything was amazing up until the birthday girl realized her half full martini had been removed from the table when the food was brought out. We mentioned it to the waiter, who swore up and down that the glass was empty. She ended up ordering a 2nd drink. However, we all remembered we had been taking pics and video also the food was brought out, so we checked our phones and of course there were pictures and videos that show her glass was definitely not empty at all. We were prepared to show the waiter the evidence, however, he didn't return to check on us until it was time to bring the bill. Upon seeing both drinks on the bill, I mentioned to him that we had video showing the drink glass was in fact not empty. The waiter actually began to argue with me over a $22 drink, even went as far to say that the restaurant also had cameras. I was flabbergasted at that point and asked for the manager. He then came over and, as he should have, apologized and said he would take care of it. He said he didn't need to see the videos.
Best experience hands down at this restaurant, was alittle skeptical about eating here because of the prices of their dishes but there presentation of how they present each dish is amazing. Me and my wife went for our Anniversary of being married 6 years and I couldn't have asked for a better experience to share with my wife. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant with its amazing staff to anyone who wants change it up for date night or anything else you want to celebrate.
1) Terrible Hospitality was the hottest day of the year in Los Angeles and I wasn't allowed to wear shorts inside the restaurant, they threatened to throw me out, they put me in a small room with very small tables separated from the main restaurant.
2) Quality of the food was terrible chicken what's the lowest grade chicken I have ever eaten and the Kobe beef wasn't even real, Waste Of Money!
I highly recommend you Do Not go here, I travelled all the way from United Kingdom I was treated terribly!
Excellent food, awesome staff and fresh new idea of entertainment
Delicious food and presented with a very unique style. If you have the chance come here and experience it for yourself.
This isn t my first time here at Barton G. I also order the same thing every time I come I received a $70 medium rare steak that looked like it was cooked yesterday, meanwhile my friend had the same exact steak that looked fresher and juicy. I wasn t pleased not once was I asked was jnok and then a manager came and also lied and informed that another red head manager came to check in ya not once did a red head come, and not once did I get asked was I ok unless it was across the table while thisnloud music and people all around are speaking. When the manager came she argued about the steak instead of treating me as a customer with A1 customer service . I was not a satisfied customer and it s not about the money. But despite the hardship I m enduring the server (Danny) was decent he got better at the end telling the truth about not having a red head manager which the managers (Nancy ) literally told me it was a red head that came to speak and gave me two options get the food done over or box up the old steak I was served
Still the best mac-n-cheese I've ever had. Went here when it first opened years ago and went back last weekend. Place is still very lively, different crowd, but still busy, and the food is still good. Great drinks, unique dining experience and that mac-n-cheese.
Good idea with all those dishes, but the server was so aggressive. After I drank only half of my drink, he picked up my glass and asked if I wanted another one. I said I already have one, and asked to put my drink back. Then he wanted to do the same with food. Again, I said we are still eating the food. Then he came back asking if we wanted to order desserts, while most of our food was eaten just half. I know you want to get as many customers as possible, but that is just plain aggressive and fast-food style service!
Trendy, nicely decorated. server was very nice. Soooo over the top food presentation. That's about it. An interesting experience for sure. I don't think I will be going back.
This place is an experience! And one you most DEFINITELY do not want to miss! There is only one way to describe it...Sensory overload! Food is pretty good but, that's not really important here, presentation is. And boy do the present well!
I came in on 6/13/19 there is a BIG reason I gave this rating one star rating is not because of the food, But the manger who I asked to speak to after I found out that the valet that is attached to Barton G , people stole $500 from my car, ransacked my car glove box , and the manger still had the decency to tell me we re a separate company from the valet people outside and had me speak to another gentleman, moving forward I had to contact the police to make sure action was going to be taken, there employee who stole from me and lied to my face first name FROILAN SILVA PEREZ , unbelievable for a restaurant such as this has customers paying top dollar, I ve been coming here for years and the Fact that they make it a liability for you to leave your vehicle With people with previous criminal records is out of control!
Good food but main attraction is how the food is served
I really enjoyed my dinner at Barton G. 10/14/16. I booked the reservation in advance and an enthusiastic staff member (can't think of his name) contacted me to confirm the reservation. The wait time was not long at all upon arrival and the waitress was very attentive. The "lured by salmon" was delicious and the presentation was super cool. I must admit we came specifically for Marie Antoinette's Head (dessert) which was everything we imaged but I specifically fell in love with the "lobster trap truffle mac n cheese." I will definitely be coming back in the future! Keep doing an amazing job LA team!
xoxo
Kenya A (9pm diner) lol!
Our reservation was for 9:30 we waited for an hour and then gave up and left. The restaurant is super tacky and gimmicky.
Excellent spot for quality meals. Everyone at our table was glad to be there. Next time I'll be back with my relatives.
I started noticed Barton G Restaurant pop up randomly on people's Instagram and was immediately intrigued by the beautiful cotton candy haired lady and the abnormally large forks and spoons.
Happily I was able to celebrate my birthday with a bunch of leading ladies in my life this past weekend. I agree with the rest of the Yelpers and say that the food truly was just okay- esp for a vegetarian like myself. I wished number one they had more options for my than just salad and pizza?! Even that was just whatever, I enjoyed the Fries the most but that shouldn't be it for a fine establishment as this.
For my meat eating friends ( the rest of my group) All thought the same for the food but throughly intrigued by the amazingly contraptions that were brought out. I wished we weren't so hungover or we would of all been able to try a different type of drink here , as i noticed some people had their drinks in heels or on top of a bird. Presentation was def exceptional and really keeps your eyes wandering everywhere.
Fun and yummy. Excites all your senses. A must see
Overpriced? Yes. Pretentious? Absolutely. Food? Food is okay, but not the focus. Worth going once for the experience? Yes.
If you're looking for an experience and some good food, definitely give Barton G a try. Well worth it.
Worst customer service in Los Angeles. We spent 200$ that day and we were treated so bad. The server was so mean and anything we ordered he gave us that mean look. We asked the manager to change the server but the manager was worse. Never going back there!
Definitely a fun place to go with friends but get your wallet ready service was incredible and there are a lot of good moments for ig pics!
Unfortunately my third visit was not a good experience. For the price, at $100 per head, I expect better service and a better environment to dine in. The tables are very close together and the overall noise level is uncomfortable. But worse was the extended wait we had between appetizers and our entree. Our server was nice but kept coming over to say they were coming, but after 30 mins I had to question a manager. Then miraculously the entrees appeared. Clearly they'd been sitting in the kitchen because the steak on the surf and turf was tepid. Because of the wait our party didn't feel like dessert, which is one of the more entertaining aspects of dining here. Unlikely to return.
Outstanding scene for quality Quality Meals. Great hospitality. Staff treated us so kindly. Prices are decent for the quality.
We had a great time this restaurant, waa a whole experience we will definitely be back! Everything was awesome!
For me Barton G is a little too expensive I have the lobster and gravy I didn't care for that we had a bucket of Bones they were delicious popcorn shrimp with the popcorn that was delightful and my pear infused drink had my lip numb that was good but it was my birthday and they did not offer a birthday Delight if you were not spending an arm and a leg for Marie Antoinette cotton candy hair or million-dollar set on fire dessert you get nothing and with valet parking being $8 as well, you could spend $200 easily that's a little high for me it's a nice place to visit once.
Try once then you will never forget your experience. Even though we re ever will be a restaurant speech between your friends and family you will surprise your surrenders by your great experience.
Horrible experience. Order a drink and a side and was told that didnt count as an order so I was forced to order something else from the menu. The waitress was taking forever to take our order. She refused to separate the bill saying that their computers wouldnt allow them to do it. Once we separated the checks, we asked her if she could add the taxes per check herself and she said no and that we would have to do that ourselves as well. Overpriced. Food was tasteless and dry. They were more concerned with the props for the dishes than customer satisfaction. Never again
Food not that great/special.. all about the props. Server took forever for everything.
The most fun I've ever had playing with my food! The presentations are delightfully over the top, but oh my, the food is worth the money alone. Great wine selection and although the mixed drinks are pricey, they looked delicious too. Highly recommended experience, especially for an occasion.
Quality Meals and the feeling here is quality. Nice location to meet with family. Next time I'll be back with my relatives. Bring your appetite because portions are generous. This place has many good reviews for a reason.
Amazing service, food and the presentation was off the charts ! Great place for a special occasion and time !
Cute little place amongst the mess in Hollywood.
Showed up for a lunch and grabbed the Dine LA. I got the duck banh mi and my friend got the burger on the recommendation of the server.
Plenty of open space and the patio is quite nice, except for what was right behind my photo. At first we thought it was a garden, which would've been really cool, but no. As my friend put it, "It looks like an area where they take the dogs to go to the bathroom."
The worst restaurant my friends and I have ever had dinner at!!! The meanest employees and the worst customer service ever! If you want people to give you five stars you should focus on making your customers happy!!!! We spent $250 in 40 minutes on two dessert pantries and 4 dinner plates and non of the entree s were touched. This place is a ripoff and trust me people it is not worth the $$ spent. All the hype about the different entree designes is not worth it! I felt like we literally spent $250 to just take pictures next to the cotton candy entree as well as the $100 bill dessert entree. The waiter told my friends and I that we were not allowed to be seated at a dining table if we only ordered a couple desserts and dinner plates for each person! That was so disappointing. He told us that we had to order appetizers as well inorder to stay seated at the dining table or else we would have had to stand up at a non seatable bar table to try to enjoy our food while standing! I will never ever step foot into this restaurant again. Everything was bad management and horrible service.
I loved this place. Traveled all the way from the Bay Area to enjoy this fine eatery!
Omg we had a blast !
We thought the food would not be good but it was outstanding
Fun drinks fun food. The music is fun and upbeat
Our server Ryan was excellent. He was top notch and Adrianne the manager made our night !
What a lovely evening.
Ambiance was not what I expected, server was quite boring, and doors was not worth the money. Was sat in crappy spot for being one of the first reservations of the evening . Definitely won't be back.
Do you want crazy plates and ridiculous decorations surrounding your average-tasting meal? The execution of the place is interesting and really whimsical but the food is mediocre and seems overpriced for what you get. You're basically paying for a show and this place does it well.
Over the top dining experience high end atmosphere upscale gourmet dining. The table side experience includes staged courses with delightful presentations for each course

The worse food and service possible!! I am a person who eats out frequently and loves to go to a good restaurants all around the world. But this place is a joke, food is horrible and beyond expression in words and a waste of money. Don't get me wrong, I will pay 250 to 500 foe a nice meal and service, but this place on a level of 1 to 10 gets a -1 for food, service and price!!
If you want to go to a place and pay 10 times the price for crapy food this is the place. The place is packed with Saudi's and Russians and some Persians who don't know any better how to burn money.
The $125 filet minion was the only nice meal on the menu, which is priced four times it value. The seabass is delivered in a brown paper bag, and after two bites you want to run to the restroom as you feel batter coming out of your nose. I had a river pond of oil or batter as on my plate which the rude waiter pointed out to me it was. I've never been more insulted with a waiter at the dinner table to ask me on three separate occasions what my occupation was. Making me feel that you idiots come to his resturant that he works at to pay 10 times the price for crap food and service.
Stay away!! I will never go here again or ever recommend anyone here, good luck staying business in LA.
A better Restuant would be Nobu, Cut, and Tannino's in westwood where food and service is at best and any of these restaurants you won't feel ripped off.
After not sleeping the whole night sick to my stomach from batter coming out of me the whole night from the sea-bass that was served in a soupish pond of batter. After continuously cleaning up the mess That I had created for the last 5 hours I realized the wonderful waiters comments of where my ethnicity was from, when I replied was born here born and raised here in LA, he continued to badger me constantly about my occupation. When finally I was tired of his badgering I informed him I was a physician (doctor) he mumbled in his native Bulgarian tongue language my FOOT as he smeared a laughter. I was so shocked that I immediately googled to find out the translation of what he mumbled. I have never in my life been so humiliated and disrespected in my life while sitting at a upscale resturant. Clearly this establishments does not do any sort of checks or training on its employees.
This place is a joke, they serve food in these circus types of trays with baseball bats, and 4 ft forks with fake flowers and pop corn machines to keep people entertained and not complain about there less than satisfactory overpriced food and service.
I just can believe that a resturant of these high standards hires street hoodlums with not proper edict and training.
Once our table of four who three had tired the seabass by soo high remarks from the waiter, I informed him the I felt sick from the oil batter and the same with the other two in my party who had left half of their fish untouched as the whole fish seem to smaller the a fish at Mc Donald's( just to compare to) and to inform the chef and manager of this immediately as I was felt dizzy and nauseous to come moments later he informs he had spoken to the chef and the manager and they could not assist me anyway. I felt completely disrespected in front of my wife and other group in my party as if I wanted to get my bill waived. Again I was coming to understand nor the waiter or establishment cares about their clients well being or have any concerns of how they are talked to and treated.
This whole resturant establishment is a shame and the people who mange it should know that from my review and everyone else review that the staff and food his horrible.
If anyone has has the same experience and gotten sick from this resturant, I would gladly like to file a complaint and take action against this establishment and file a with the LA food administration board.
Good food but the presentation looks much better on tv. Wouldn't go back.
Unsatisfied with my steak. Ordered medium steak and served a medium well/close to well done steak. I told the server that my steak was over cooked. Server took it back then 3mins later returned a steak but it was sliced/cut already. I know for sure that it was the same steak that i return back. Didnt want to complain again again coz i was already so hungry. Server made me feel that i was only complaining to get something but i really didnt complain to the manager until i already paid. Everything was great except they cant get a $70 steak right. What more the tomahawk steak.
My fav spot for quality Quality Meals. Loved this place from the first taste. The staff was friendly and observant. This place has a cool atmosphere. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.
For all of the fun and quirky presentations, the space is very limited. So, it's difficult to enjoy the delicious food (it really is good) when you can barely move to get to it. It seems like we were always assisting the wait staff in rearranging the table to make room for the food presentations. It's a unique concept restaurant - Lady Gaga meets Tim Burton is the best visual I can give. The way each course is prepared and displayed is almost like performance art. The wait staff did an amazing job considering they are always on the go with setting up and taking down each course. It's a very busy and lively venue. You're paying for well crafted cuisine as well as the experience - worth the expense for one visit if you're looking for something different.
What a way to experience our first Thanksgiving...loved every moment of it. The staff were great
Excellent food, creative food presentation, friendly staff, cozy environment.
Very good place, good food, excellent presentations. A little expensive but worth it.
One of my preferred spots for quality meals. Visited on Fri I believe. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. Prices were appropriate.
Only been here a few times for brunch with the ladies back at the beginning of its days, so it was a nice change of pace to revisit a previously well-loved spot of mine for dinner with the husband.
Great atmosphere. Great staff, fun attitude. Good food. Had to wait a long time between courses, but that was ok as the drinks were great!! I've always been curious about this place and would definitely go back.
If you're extra, this is the place for you. The presentation and the over the top plates make for the best pics, and bonus it's all delicious. So it's well worth your money.
We had the popcorn shrimp to start it came in a super cute mini popcorn machine. I had the filet mignon it was perfection!!! And again the presentation was on point. The Mac and cheese was my side which was so rich, and the consistency of it was just perfect.
For dessert we had the dollar Dolla bill y'all. Which came in an over the top display. It's smores with ice cream it was so good.
This place was cute, and the presentation was great. Definitely recommend it for a fun night out
We were visiting Los Angeles for a few days and we decided to make a reservation at Barton since my daughter wanted to come here for years. Food was amazing great service, busy super busy, a little tight but extremely fun and up beat . Our server Ryan was excellent . We meet Adrianne the manager he was so nice to us. Thank you Barton J for such a wonderful Christmas day
We will be back next time in town
Food and fun go hand in hand when done correctly. This restaurant is one of those must try at least once when in LA. A flick of your meal and an experience is the totally worth the damage!!!
Although food is just okay... the presentation and experience make up for it.
I still give it a 5 star bc it's always a fun time when we are here!
Fun place to enjoy, must try firsthand, had a great time there!
Great fun place. Awesome dish decorations and very delicious food.
It was small and seating was tight . Very over rated spot.
The food is very good with very big portions
Can't go by yourself because of all the food
Should visit once a year. Gets old after a while
The decor and ambiance is awesome. I love the plate decor themes. They are a novelty. I gave it a 3 star because the food taste was not up to par with their prices. Their Cobb salad has a weird taste, their Bucket of Bones meat has a lot of sauce but the meat itself is under seasoned. They should marinate the meat or something so it has flavor. The Sweet Potato Fries were the best. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was pretty okay. I felt like it was lacking flavor. And they should offer smaller versions of their deserts because I wanted to order their ice cream but it had 12 scoops of ice cream. There s no way me and two other people were gonna eat all of that. Definitely should consider smaller serving sizes for smaller groups.
The service was great. The food was cold and not that great.
I made reservations to have dessert and drinks. An employee from the restaurant called me and stated I would have to order a main entree to keep my reservation!! Nowhere does it state on their website you must order a main entree to keep a reservation!!! For a fine dining restaurant, they need to get it together!!!
The absolute best presentation of food and an excellent party restaurant!
Went with some friends. Valet was 10... I had the Jambalaya it came mix with rice. It had a great favor a little lite spicy but good. The presentation was not as fancy as other dishes but whatever...overall we enjoyed our self
Supee ricooo I love it and very creative its dishes
Came here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, and the experience was amazing! Barton G is definitely the best restaurant in LA! Def worth coming.
Very creative, delicious and beautiful artistic setting.
This was my FIRST and LAST time coming to this restaurant. It is so over rated and the food isn t good. It s too cluttered inside. The pictures are decieving. You must look at the menu before you come because they FORCE you to order an entree even it s nothing on the menu to your liking. The drinks was ok but 6oz of wine isn t worth $20 dollars. Worse experience. I won t be back. I definitely wouldn t recommend anyone to that restaurants...
Good entertainment, good food. A little pricey, but interesting place to go to. I love how they orange their dishes. Dessert it really delicious. Highly recommend.
Took my best friend for her birthday and we were both pleased with the whole Barton G. Experience.
The restaurant is a mystery dining place for people who thrive for weird and extraordinary eating experience. If you Google "giant fork restaurant in LA", it will pop out this restaurant. Just to say that Barton G is well known for its bizarrely funny in food decoration. Highlights of the menu:
1. Complementary donuts: truffle donut, cheese donut. They are salty donuts so it tricks you at first on the opposite taste.
2. Popcorn Shrimp Chicken. Food is basic with fried chicken, fried shrimp and popcorn serves together in a popcorn stand.
3. Lured by Salmon, serves in a fish stand.
4. Bird's Eye View, whole chicken serves in a moving chicken stand, which looks really fun (and great for Boomerang video taking).
5. Great American Steak, 16 oz boneless ribeye.
6. We cannot skip desserts: Chocolate Indulgence. Very spectacular experience when the server dresses in mechanics and go "fix" your food in front of you!!
I order most of the outstanding dish but probably not going to be a regular customer at this restaurant. This is like 1 time curious that you come to eat to see the funny decoration but food is very basic. Price is a bit high because of the high maintenance and good location. Tables are always booked so have reservation before you come to cut the long wait time.
The service is very amazing their theme is outstanding food is so rich and delicious! I came here with my whole family for my birthday! Very fun and different I definitely recommend you coming here if you re interested in something totally different and a very cool experience.
We met with friends at this place for dinner. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very nice. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we had an excellent feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.
suprisingly good food! I got the pork chop they said only 5 were cooked limited edition sale lol. it was amazing. the rest were ok.
