My husband and I always stop in at Currituck BBQ because they are not only polite and friendly, they have great food! They have local vegetables like okra, sweet potatoes, and collards.

Spur of the moment stop. Will definitely stop again! Burnt ends were amazing! Pulled pork, sweet potato casserole, coleslaw & Mac & cheese were also excellent! Thanks for a fantastic dinner!!!

Stopped otw to Corolla. Very clean, extremely friendly staff, and awesomely delicious food!! Wish we came this way more often but we will stop otw back next week & bring some home!!

Update: we stopped by otw home to VA. Different cashier and cook but same great friendly service and delicious food!! This is iur new place to eat otw out of town!!!

OMG...we were taking a road trip from Chesapeake and we originally were going to Pigman s BBQ but we were turned around due to quarantine so we headed back to Chesapeake and stopped by tho place and I must say it s some of the best BBQ I ve ever had...definitely will be back...EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Paul makes the best bbq around. Hands down! The staff at Currituck BBQ are the most polite friendly wonderful people. They are always there to help answer any questions you have. The place could not be any more wonderful than it is.
Stopped in yesterday and had Burnt End sandwich which is my absolute favorite! It's better than what I make. Today I wasn't as hungry and had the pulled pork bbq sandwich and those awesome hushpuppies!
I was there once for one of their all-you-can-eat extravaganzas out in the picnic shelter, I ate way too much but it was incredible!!!

Always ny favorite place to stop after cleaning on the weekends.

Do not make any special orders with this restaurant. If you do, you will be told that the item cant be made when you go to pick it up. The staff will also be terribly rude when you explain to them that they messed up. I would not recommend anyone rely on this restaurant when you are wanting food for a large event.

Stopped by on the way to Kitty Hawk, NC and I am glad we did. Got the jumbo pork bbq sandwich and it was GOOD. Will be stopping by on the way home too.

This place has very, very good pulled pork and the mac and cheese is delicious...very clean and very well maintained and organized

Delicious NC barbeque! Order the larger sandwich (add cole slaw) with choice of original (tomato based), NC (vinegar based) or SC (mustard based) sauces and some hush puppies! Eat out at the outdoor pavillion, not inside.

Pulled pork is amazing, oh and the hush puppies... the hush puppies... why are you so good? Tell me how youre so awesome?!?

Place is really good barbecue. We had the chicken chunks and the pork. This place would be 5 stars but County Grill is actually better.

Its very simple its some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. The mac n cheese and sweet potato casserole were amazing. You have to stop by on your way down to OBX and on your way home. Just a warning when it says sweet tea they mean SWEET tea!

Some of the best BBQ I've had. They have several styles of sauce in case you don't enjoy Carolina style BBQ (you know, if you're some sort of heathen or something).

We always stop on the way home from the beach to have lunch here. The outdoor seating is fantastic if you have a dog, so you can have a nice sit down meal without worrying about your pets.

The sides are all fantastic.

I had the burnt tips with mac and cheese and fried okra. Yum!! The meat was juicy and the mac was creamy, just how I like it. We ate outside and afterwards my two year old son checked out the fire truck and we just had a great time here.

Good food great service. Has a huge outside dining area. And the business appears to be under construction for even more room!!! Business was busy and the food came out quick. Currituck BBQ is obviously a local hotspot

Been a couple of years since I was last here... the interior seating has expanded which is a huge plus. Quick service and the food is even better than I remembered! Love the banana pudding!

It was overall not good. I got beef brisket, Mac and cheese and fried okra. Fried okra was fresh and good. That s it. Mac and cheese taste like kraft and the brisket had a stank after taste. Idk how it was rated so high.

Gfreat local place for BBQ. The owner moved an old segregation school onto his property, in order to preserve it's historical value. Customers can see the preserved building right behind the restaurant.

Good BBQ, but don t call in for pick up. You ll still have to wait in line, then your food isn t nearly as warm or fresh as those that were standing in line without calling in.

I have eaten here several times over the past 6 years. This was my first time back in 4 years as I had moved to Memphis. I'm back and bot oh boy.........I will not be back to Currituck BBQ. The brisket was not even brisket. Now I am not a picky person so.......I tried it anyways. Hmmmmmmmm what was this mysterious meat? Not brisket. Different owners? Different head cook? Different way of preparing your meat? I am open to anwsers. I have always enjoyed eating here until yesterday.

WAAAY overpriced for mediocre food. Portions are small. Mac and cheese and coleslaw (only cabbage) were soupy and bland. Pulled pork is also tasteless. Brisket sandwich was DRY brisket chunks on a hamburger bun. I have no idea what all the hype is about this place. Very dissatisfied.

Line out the door at 11 am when they open shows this place is good.

Had the ribs, pork and brisket. Amazing food all around. The sweet potato casserole was just perfect.

$18 for 3 meets and subbing up for ribs instead of chicken was totally worth it.

Huge outdoor pavilion for eating and some tables in the sweet Carolina sunshine. We have been coming down here for years and this is regrettably the first time we have stopped here. I think it will be on the list from now on.

Great brisket, chicken and pig, Good Old Eastern North Carolina barbecue at its finest. The portions are generous, the food is great, and there's something for everyone. Prices are good. This is a must visit if you're in the Currituck area.

Pulled Chicken Sandwich & Sweet potato Souffle a must

Went to the new location in Elizabeth City yesterday Sunday July 12 around 2pm.
Place looked nice and pleasantly surprised to find they have a drive-thru.

We place our order via a speaker box and drive around to the pickup window where a woman with a mask hanging under her chin accepted my payment then much to my surprise proceeded to put our rather large order together with no gloves!

We saw another young man inside help her out the order together also no gloves or mask! I think during a pandemic the very least you could expect is for the person who handles your payment would not be touching your food? Also if you're going to wear a mask please wear it correctly!

On top of what we felt were less than ideal safety precautions during this pandemic our order was messed up.

Ordered 4 jumbo sandwich platters. 3 were jumbo one was a small regular. A half slab of ribs were missing too. Didn't discover this until I was in Grandy ready to eat at my Dad's house.

Don't think we will be back until everyone is masked and gloved up!

We just didn't feel safe eating the food.

I come from a Atlanta BBQ family. And.this was GOOD! Prices are excellent. Portion huge. Nice outside covered eating seating area.
Clean bathrooms.
Pet friendly.

The burnt ends brisket sandwich was off the hook good ! The potato salad was good and the baked beans were good.i enjoyed this meal very much !

Great BBQ and a great price. Will definitely return.
