Great little bbq place that has lot of options and can take pints of food to go.

It's the best home cooked BBQ meal on the East Coast. Add a lil North Carolina BBQ sauce and you've got yourself sumthin good ta eat.
The sweet potato casarol is mighty good too.
Also, I ordered burnt ends because I saw them on the food network and they were tender, tasty and delicious.

A wonderful place to get southern barbecue. They have a very kind staff and an at home feel. A very nice place to eat all around.

Daughter's pork was also very good. Place was busy on a Sunday lunchtime, but crew worked through it quickly and with smiles on their faces.

Second time eating here on vacation. Great food, indoor and outdoor dining, huge grounds for kids to run, and historic school mini-museum. Pet friendly with bags for cleanup. Will be back again.

This place is nothing fancy to look at, but oh boy do they serve awsome bbq. I highly recommend brisket meat platter, some of they serve it chopped up style and is perfectly smoked and juicy. I would also recommend the pulled pork out this world good some of the best I have ever had. They have a great staff friendly and quick. My wife eats gluten free and they went the extra mile to make sure she had a great meal.

The most amazing barbeque in North Carolina!! I live near Washington DC and I stop every single time I come down to Hatteras for vacation. This place was recommended by a friend so I had to stop and taste test the barbeque. Not only is it cooked perfectly, but the variety of sauces, sides and other items are out of this world. The last time I stopped I tried their blackberry cobbler and have been craving it since then. A must stop in my book!!

Amazingly good for a little seeming hole in the wall. We got the reasonably priced family meal with pulled pork and pulled beef brisket. The green beans, mac n cheese, and fried okra were darn good.

Clean, Good Bbq, nice inside and outside seating choices. Seat yourself, serve yourself kinda place. They have multiple in-house BBQ sauces to try. Overall, it's the best place for lunch or dinner on your way to or from the Outer Banks.

We stopped on a whim on our way to OBX. The food was absolutely delicious! We bought some of the sauce to bring back north.

Horrible food! Not sure how they rate this place high. Food was mediocre, ribs are dry and no taste. Brisket was shredded like pull pork and not sliced and dry. Mac n cheese was dry and no taste of cheese. Chicken was ok. Hush puppies was the best thing out of this place. Someone on there saying this is authentic North Carolina bbq? Really!? Wow. I tasted way better bbq up north. This place left me disappointed.

I have tried this place several times through the years and the bbq still has no flavor. We will not go again.

Fast, efficient service; decent "Q"; sizable portions. Homemade desserts. Not anything fancy, but it definitely hit the spot. Looks like you can get great big pans of everything they make to go, too, for your next party.

Once a year, we make the pilgrimage from Cleveland to OBX, and we base our meals comin' and goin' around stopping here.
I can't believe someone would actually complain about SERVICE, though.
They've always been excellent to us, and we have no issues in the least.

BBQ done right! Pork BBQ is awesome, Mac is great, hush puppies- everything is great. The indoor expansion was a much needed upgrade and the outdoor picnic area is a great upgrade, too.

My family and I stop here every year on our way home from the beach. You won't leave hungry. The food is very good and the customer service is great as well

Excellent food. Good portions for price. Sides are only 1.49, mouthwatering fries! You basically almost a get a large fry for 1.49. Basket of fries 2.89. Support small businesses!

We came to north Carolina from Wisconsin and enjoyed the food so much! Friendly service all the way up to when we left. Will definitely visit again if we go back!

The fried chicken and ribs are always the best. Never disappointed every time. I love the expansion and clean bathroom. The front/cashier's are super nice and fast. Keep up the great work and keep up the cleanliness it's always the most important for me.

Love the pork bbq and their sides. Have had the baked beans, fries and green beans. All were great. Also had the okra, but not my favorite.

I was incredibly disappointed in the staff's attitudes and level of service. The manager seemed frazzled and apathetic towards the customers. It was obvious they were a bit short-staffed, which is odd, considering most restaurants in the area tend to overstaff in the busy summer months. The chicken BBQ was pretty good though, and the mac and cheese was yummy. Just wish I'd had a better customer service experience. Probably not coming back. :/

Only had the brisket and pork sandwiches but they were on point! So good and moist, no dryness whatsoever. Highly recommended by pulled pork enthusiasts. Sweet tea is great too

Can I give this ten stars?! Best BBQ, best sides and BEST customer service! Absolutely love this place, and we take all of our guests here where they visit from out of town. LOVE!

Food is Fantastic Staff is Super Friendly... would give 5 stars BUT place is in Major Need Of An Upgrade or Facelift... Very Rundown... but you can't stay away because it Tastes so GOOD... STOP Spending money to restore the old shack on the grounds until you have taken care of the very building Your Acutely Making Money out of first.. got things backwards on that one I'd say. Pretty soon your restaurant will look worse than that building you're trying to restore.... Give the Restaurant a Facelift Please.

A typical well established Southern barbecue joint. Nothing fancy but oh the food is good. Be prepared to be called Sugar pie honey bunch by the cashier. Now I know where the temptations got it.

Always high quality brisket and pulled pork. Definitely worth stopping for on your way to the Outer Banks.

The woman behind the counter taking orders was hilarious....just listening to her made the wait enjoyable! She was very entertaining and seemed to know and do her job well! The food was also delicious! I tried the pulled pork sandwich .. and even tho there was a long line I got out in plenty of time to eat and get back to work on time...I had a 30 min lunch break!

BEST DAMN BBQ IN THE BEAUTIFUL STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA! Stop by on your way to the beach and make sure to grab extra to eat later. The Sweet Tea is PERFECTION!

This is the best brisket my husband and I have had since we left Texas! Amazing flavor, melt in your mouth brisket. True care and love has gone into making the food here. The green beens were delicious, the pulled pork had lots of flavor and was super tender! I wish it was close to where we live, we would be eating here regularly! This is a must try!

Excellent eastern NC BBQ! And a full menu, including a kid's menu. Perfect place to pull out of beach traffic and take a break. Huge yard for kids to run around after you've had them coupes up in the car.

Also, be sure to check out the Rosenwald School that Paul Robinson bought and moved in order to restore and preserve. This building is a critical piece of American history.and we are all fortunate that Paul took on this project.

My family and I were on our way out of town, from a brief trip to OBX.

We saw the sign cruising down the freeway, and thought we would check it out.

And man oh man, am I ever glad we did.

If you are looking for some swanky spot, this isn't the place for you. If you want some good ol down home BBQ - this is it. Paper plates, loaded up with good portions of damn good food. There wasn't a single thing I didn't like.

From the burnt ends, to the hush puppies, and the sweet potato casserole in between.

Our next trip down here, will definitely include a stop off at my new favorite cue spot
