THIS is what Carolina BBQ is all about.
No "ambiance" ....just a place to sit and enjoy some real whole pig BBQ.
LOVED it! Meat was superb, bread fresh, hushpuppy's were perfection....just a great total Carolina BBQ experience.
You just gotta have the pork! (We didn't try the beef, next time?)

The food is fantastic. The restaurant is not fancy which is my preference. Laid back, order your food and pick it up when ready at the counter. Great food at a great cost.

Delicious! We order BBQ platter, plenty of awesome tasty food. My favorite was the Mac and cheese! But fries, cole slaw, okra were very good too. The pork itself was delicious and they had different choices of sauce to put on. The place is small but there is a big covered area with picnic tables on the side, very comfortable. There is no power, water, or bathrooms avilable in this area though.

Two dollar Tuesday for a barbeque sandwich that is a meal with a senior drink makes Currituck BBQ a must visit place.

By the time you order and pay your made to order sandwich is ready for eating. Options include colesaw. You add your choice of at least 7 sauces if desired.

There are several drink choices including but not limited to Pepsi products, sweet and unsweet tea and lemonaid that tastes fresh.

Deserts if desired are unusually ample in quanity and are premises made. I love the banana pudding but most people I see order the cholate cake to share.

The sandwich satisfies me and derserts are reserved for special occassions.

The atmosohere is casual with self seating. Many working people stop at lunch time, school children at the end of their day, and older adults at the supper time.

Best bbq that I have tried in this area. Whenever we drive by that place we always stop to grab some food there.

My group had the pork, the chicken, and burger. The food was ok, I live in this area so I'm always looking for bbq. I wouldn't go out of my way to get to this restaurant. When we went there, there was a long line of people so obviously it might be a community favorite but the food isnt worth the line and crowded space.

My family and I love this place. We gladly go out of our way to come here when we're close. We've been here three times and it has never dissapointed. The food is wonderful as is the setting. But seriously the food is in point. BBQ is delicious, the hushpuppies rule, you just can't go wrong here.

Tonight's plates were ON POINT! Never have had a bad meal here, but some nights the chef knocks it out of the park, as was the case tonight!

Good eats but it ain't real barbecue; it s like barbecue but they only cook their meat in an oven. There is no wood on the premises and no smell of smoke or a smokey or barbecue flavor. Basically it is a nice country sandwich shop for travelers that has barbecue sauce.

I hate to say it because this is such a great secret. Great BBQ! Generous portions. Large menu. Reasonable price.
Dont come! You'll just slow things down. Right now they're very fast

Ordered a couple of family packs and the pork, chicken, and brisket were shredded beyond recognition. The rolls were packaged Wonder hamburger buns. Also, it was very expensive for not very much food and they didn't include all the sides we ordered. The regular sides looked ok, but as far as authentic Carolina BBQ, this isn't what we were looking for. We were overall disappointed by the quality and service, considering the high ratings.

Cute little bbq joint with fast service. The bbq was good but the hush puppies were by far the best I have ever had and their house made bbq sauces were great. Nice grassy outdoor/picnic seating as well as inside. Great stop on our ride to OBX

When you walk in the door you know this place has good BBQ, staff is friendly, tables are clean, food was fantastic! I'd come here more but just passing through in the way back from the outer banks and was not disappointed.

WOW, WOW, WOW.... Hands down they have some of the best bbq I have EVER eaten. The sweet potato casserole is amazing. They should somehow make it into a candle it smells that good. The hush puppies were legit . I'd recommend getting extra. I found my new favorite BBQ spot!!!!

I normally love this place, because of the awesome BBQ and the service. This was the first time I went at night and the people weren't as friendly. But the BBQ was still awesome. My platter came with 6 fries and one fork full of coleslaw which was disappointing based on the amount I paid

This is good BBQ if you like minced. However, the sweet potato casserole is even better.

Food is absolutely delicious! It can get pretty busy on Saturdays when traffic is heavy on rt 158 from people coming and going to the beach. Dining room is small but they have a large covered pavilion outside. My only complaint is that they could maybe move where the condiments are. The drink fountains and counter are all kind of crammed together so when there is a large crowd it's a little tricky to navigate. Other than that, awsome!

Excellent barbaque . Catering for events. Well worth the visit. No frills good comfort food.

You have to try the burnt ends. Only place around this area you can get those. The bbq is pretty good as well.

Usually I am not the type to leave one star reviews. After a long day on the road, we stopped for lunch hoping for a pleasant meal. The girl who took our order behind the counter was very rude. She kept talking over what I was ordering and had an attitude when she couldn t hear my family s orders. We almost cancelled our orders due to her impatience. And to top it all off, my bbq pulled pork was served without bbq on it.

Always good...tasty food, good service.

To and from the beach this is a must stop in for some of the best BBQ around. The burnt ends with brisket sauce is fenominal.

Food (especially BBQ) is amazing, friendly staff and very nice indoor and outdoor seating.

Fast, quick service. Friendly & polite staff. Large portions & great taste. Don't pass them up just because the parking lot is full.

The food was amazing. We had a bit of a wait, which several people mentioned was unusual. Our food was well worth the wait and the staff had happy hearts throughout.

Pulled pork was mushy like the cheap stuff in the grocery store I've had better at a gas station..

What a treat! The BBQ was prepared well and the sides added to the experience.

They had a sandwich that you don't normally find. It was a brisket sandwich and was loaded with smoked beef brisket. There was a six pack of sauces on the table to choose from.

Absolutely amazing BBQ! I always stop on my way in or out of OBX (sometimes both ). Everything I've tried is really good, but my favorites are the pork BBQ and the brisket. They have a few different sauces that range in heat level as well.

Friend of mine suggested we stop here yesterday I will say I was surprised never been here before but we'll make it a regular stop every time I'm in the area and the young lady at the counter or was extremely friendly and the food was wonderful

I have been eating at Currituck BBQ since it opened many years ago. Paul and company (great people) even catered my wedding. Hands down the best BBQ in eastern NC. I have sent three different wedding parties to him for their catering and they were completely satisfied also. I just ordered the "burnt ends" plate and this is the first time that I have ever been completely dissatisfied. There were only six "burnt ends" in the plate and two of them consisted of nothing but fat. A tiny meal for $12.49 that is not worth it. The regular BBQ plate includes far more BBQ and far less unedible fat. Hopefully, I just got the "bottom of the barrel" pieces because the meat on my plate should have cost about five dollars. Awesome food, just steer clear of the "burnt ends".

We had Currituck BBQ cater our wedding and they did a phenomenal job! From delivery to the flavor of the food! We would definitely use them again in the future!!

This is the best BBQ joint we've tried in the Outer Banks area!!! This is a great place to stop on your way down or on your way home. These folks always have fresh, homemade food. They offer pulled meats, 1/4 & 1/2 chicken, ribs, cheeseburgers & all the side & fixins' you can imagine. Plus all they're own sauces. Please try this privately owned business!

One of my family's favorite stops! Always packed, whether during lunch, supper, or bad weather! BBQ is some of the best I've had, and we love the sauces. I use my GPS as I get close because you need to slow down quickly right around the bend to not miss the turn to park!

I ordered the barbecue brisket sandwich and it was very good but the potato salad was terrible. I definitely give the joint another try and avoid the potato salad.

The best Southern BBQ restaurant around. The food is always hot, frsh, delicious, with large portions, a great price, and in a friendly atmosphere.

Best part is,... the food is ALWAYS consistently perfect!! You know what you're gonna get, and you can't wait to start shoveling it in. Yum!

Stopped here on our way back from the Outer Banks. Our food was ready fast, it was cheap, and it tasted amazing! I got a pork BBQ sandwich, fried okra, and applesauce. I loved it. Definitely a good experience.

On your way back from the OBX, you need to stop by and pick up their pulled pork sandwiches with "cold slaw". Good stuff!
