It's a very nice place where if you fancy the wine tasting, it's worth visiting and lots of friendliness
The ticket is a bit too expensive.15Europe dollar. I recommend to go their shop directly, red wine is sweet, it s good.
Cellphone-guided tour. Had some problems with the cellphone but the Porto tasting after is good.
Very nice tour about Port wine in general and about their own wines.
My girlfriend and I were at the "leadership" with the "tasting". We informed each other at Lonley Planet and followed their recommendation and chose the well-known wine cellar Taylor. The information was apparently outdated. The building and the port wines are excellent, I would like to say in advance. Unfortunately, now comes the big but. You get an audioguide in the beginning and then you go through the cellar yourself. The information is unfortunately so boring and lengthy processed, that one is quickly frustrated. You do not get to see an employee in this part. We had time and would like to get involved. But this "leadership" breaks every patience. At the end you get two really great port wines to try. But this is not a tasting for me in which one can discover his favorite by a selection. Taylor has it all - history, great products and a beautiful location. So the entry of 15 euros was not worth it and we went disappointed. Unfortunately, we can not recommend the wine cellar tour.
Interesting guided tour with sampling of their products at the end... very well informed guides and you get the whole experience visiting the cellar where the Port is aged... big bar and restaurant with great views of the river and city...
Aardige mensen, lekkere port, interessante (korte) rondleiding, prachtige uitzicht op Porto.
Wonderful place for those who want to have an experience of knowing the origin and all the steps that lead to the production of Port wine, an unforgettable experience.
We went in groups of 4 to visit Taylor. We were welcomed at the reception. When we went to the tasting room we were coldly received by the manager, who told us to go back to the reception for the visit and then come back for tasting. Some number of the audio guide does not work. At 15 one should expect to have a person as a guide given all the information to give. Back at the tasting room, we were treated to only 2 glasses of port wine and no appetizers. But mostly summary explanations and we had no choice in the port. After getting the menu to order appetizers, the waiter never came back to take our order. The visit is very interesting but the customer service disappoints enormously.
Porto's famous port wine! Taylor's winery was good because there was a Korean audio guide, but the explanation was too long. I can taste red wine! I'm tasting, but I can't eat it. I've just made an egg tart.
Personally, I consider the most beautiful wine cellar in Port. A farm inside the city.
The biggest advantage is that Korean audio guide is supported. But the last tasting is three places elsewhere and there are two. If you have several wineries, I recommend you to come first.
Great experience at Taylor Port! Self-guided audio tour provides a great education to the history of Taylor as you tour the cellars. The port tasting is great and is very good. Don't miss the restaurant as it is terrific with great fresh food and service.
The best winery to visit. Very informative, plus an audioguide is provided so you could take the tour at your own pace and spend as much or as little time as you want. The facilities and a little museum are beautiful. The price of 12 includes the tour and 2 wines to taste (both of them are delicious). An added bonus is the amazing view of the city.
Fantastic, environment is beautiful, great service! Well worth the visit!
15 euros per person, including two glasses of wine. It's easy to carry around with an audio guide.
Very nice staff, good tasting, lots of good infos about every steps of the process. Shame there is no guided tour with a person!
Self tour is good but (included) wine tasting was mediocre. Garden and tasting room are fabulous and worth a visit. Choose your own tastings and this place is 4-5 stars
Audio guide and 2 small glasses of port for 12. Not a bad price. Tour is nice but feel there could be more.
GREAT TO VISIT AND FOR A TASTING OF EXCEPTIONAL WINES. DREAM VIEWS
It is located on a hill in Vilanova, about a 10-minute walk from its Ribeira. Going by car if, as is frequent depending on the day, the traffic on Diogo Leite street, in Rbeira, is cut, it is a bit complicated because you have to go around the whole town, so better take a walk
The facilities are the best, and the number of barrels where the impressive wine rests. Wine and tasting very good. It also has a beautiful garden and a bar for a drink; the prices, depending on the wine, but it is an opportunity to taste glorious wines, whose bottles are only affordable for a few, such as a 50-year-old Single Harvest at 28 euros a glass (400 or more a bottle), but they have many others, of course, even a vintage for 6.
In the same facilities of the winery they have a restaurant, the Barao Faldgate, with the best views of Porto.
Great port, helpful and friendly staff, and a beautiful setting. Unfortunately couldn't sit outside as it was packed but the terrace looked awesome. Didn't bother with a tour - just went straight to the tasting area.
lovely garden, welcoming birds n tasty wine! some sweats value.
I tried two of the cheapest wines in their family and was pleasantly surprised. So I bought the three most expensive bottles. But I don't know why, exactly the same 1966 wine, the British Amazon turned out to be half the price of their home? ? ? Regret, if I knew it, I wouldn't buy it
Very disappointed with the tour with audio guide. I had the chance to do it a few years ago with a passionate guide, it was much more interesting and practical. In addition I find that the tasting is very limited compared to the price of the visit and does not offer a very good overview of Taylor's products. Too bad, I would not recommend this cellar.
Very nice audioguide tour around the Porto. One of the first big houses. Nice tasting
Famous winery tours, tasting and explaining. I'm strong and sweet in port wine
Indecent increase to 12 euros instead of 5 euros previously. Do not even bother to ride, no interest. The view is not even appreciable, unless you pay again to access the restaurant.
2020.1.29 latest news. The fare has risen to 15 euros. Children's tickets seem to be 10 yuan? The Chinese interpreter seems to have problems at the fifth and sixth points, but it does not affect understanding. There are videos to watch later.
Children will give a glass of grape juice, but it costs 2 Euros instead of being included in the fare like an adult ticket. This caused a misunderstanding. At the time of payment (because later charged other wine tasting), I thought it was a tip (service fee). After all, I didn't know Portuguese, so I didn't leave a tip for the waiter. The waiter was still nice.
If you want to buy 14 years of red wine, you need to buy 17 bottles, and then buy a few bottles for 10 years, 22 yuan.
The wine cellar is still bigger than expected. Of course, there is no comparison with the large wine cellars in France or elsewhere.
Grape juice children also like to drink, bought a bottle, but unfortunately too heavy, did not buy too much
Visit in French and tasting for 3 . Beautiful garden with peacocks and chickens.
Fantastic views, a great way to spend time in Porto.
An amazing experience. Definitely worth try the flight of port
Magnificent location. Excellent menu. I had dinner on my birthday. 10/25/2017
Must visit when in Porto.
Allocate at least 2h to really take in the knowledge of the great audio tour and have enough time to enjoy the wine tasting after.
The staff is nice and friendly and with extensive knowledge of their craft.
Can only recommend
I recommend this place. Kind and friendly staff, very tasty food and great wine.
It was good not to visit a tour which was fixed in time, but to be individually routed by voice guide. The space that can taste is also fashionable, and the atmosphere is good overall. I also have a Japanese winery introduction brochure.
Well laid out tour and great to see the barrels and vats. Comfortable tasting area.
Professional set up and everything you need to know apart making port and history of the brand. The venue is impressive. It's a bit too heavy on the marketing and the audio guide can't go two sentences without espousing the brand, though this place is not unique in this. Taste of 2 ports included in the tour and grounds are lovely. It's up a hill so no need to worry about the crowds :)
Fantastic winery, great wines and excellent cuisine I highly recommend
The wine bar is top notch, the visit to the cellars is fun, a bit long at the end perhaps, but the port is worth it.
OK they seem ro be a little presumptuous, but it's worth a visit. The staff are really attentive and Porto wine is... simply a "must taste"... be advised...
The tour at Taylor's is a real recommendation not only for a rainy day. The audio guide in German explains the history of port wine, the Taylor company and port wine production in German as you walk through the warehouses and exhibition rooms. Then you can try two port wines.
A great place to experience the mainstream of port wine.
It is good to be able to listen to the audio guide and look around at your own pace. The end of the winery tour is finished by drinking precious LBV ~
Feel and watch the history of Porto, in one of the best wineries in Porto
Off the beaten track port cellar, producing some of the best port wine in the world. Their restaurant has amazing views of Porto and food is brilliant. It's also much quieter than the caves on the main street. And you don't have to wait for designated visit slots. You just get an audio guide. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Super nice people, great service despite the high traffic in the beautiful garden. Peacocks as an additional attraction and above all a little British attitude towards life. The way up the hill was worth it!
Great celar, with a beautiful garden, where you can taste Porto wines.
Good taste to taste good port, with a stunning view for lunch/ drink.
The best cellar tour visit we had done (were in Calem, Porto Cruz and Sandeman). I loved the audio tour guide, to hear everything again in my native language was great. There was also a lot more information than in a guided tour and videos, pictures, exhibitions and charts to look at.
The wine is, in my opinion, one of the best you can get and the tasting "room" (you could sit inside or outside) was beautiful. There were even some peacocks walking around!
The staff was elegant and very nice!
Had a great tour and an absolutely unreal port tasting with once in a lifetime selection available like a 161 year old port! Highlight of the trip
The port tour was a nice and relaxed way to take in a cellar, and the companies commitment to climate change is laudable, but the gardens here are the real star. A secluded and opulent sun trap with a good selection of snacks to accompany the varied port tasting options. Peacocks and chickens gratis for ambience.
Tour was very interesting but there were only 2. small wine glasses to try!
Nice to get to know Porto (drink) in this way. The tour can even be followed in Dutch.
Nice tour through audioguide, also in Dutch. Tijdena the tour to view images so that an image can be formed with the sound. Tour costs 15 including 2 port at the end of the tour.
We went there only for a tasting since we already did the tour of another port cellar. This place felt less personal and the price where a little bit high. The garden where you do the tasting is nice.
Big, corporate establishment. The 20-yr tawney was the worst I've had of that age. The 1968 "very old wine" (basically a colheita) was palatable but not so great that it was worth the 20-something euros for a taste.
The service was very knowledgeable and gracious.
Self-guided audio tours available. Restaurant looks like it has a good view of the river, but I wasn't there around a meal.
Excellent gourmet restaurant with a beautiful view of Porto. The service is impeccable, a little background music and an idyllic setting. The food was excellent and the port of course too.
We went in for a tasting, not for a visit because it was all booked 5 days before our visit. The place was very crowded, we each ordered different sorts of port and we had no explanation or descriptions on the products. The service was bad, although the place is pretty, especially the garden which has a very nice view on Porto.
With hindsight I would not have done the tour, prices exaggerated for what they offer.
The tour is well done and there are interesting things, apart from the too long and apologetic history of the cellar. The place is suggestive and the part dedicated to the explanation of the culture, processing and characteristics of their wine is well done. The final tastings (a dry white Port and a vintage red Port (from a single vintage and a single vine) are not accompanied by any appetizer ... unless you pay, of course. With 12 admission, a some bread, two olives and two pieces of cheese could fit.
We had a great experience at Taylor's. The cellar is very impressive. The audio guide was very informative, at times perhaps a bit lengthy, but we definitely learned a lot. It took us approximately 1.5 hours to get through the exhibition. We were rewarded with two very fine port wines in a serene seating area, surrounded by plants and peacocks.
In my opinion is by far the most pleasant experience place to taste port wine, with a great view over Porto city, great vintage feeling around you, and of course, great tasting wine.
Beautiful grounds make up for the steep walk and prices. Roosters, Peacocks, and port from the masters - nothing to complain about.
We skipped the tour and opted to hit the tasting gardens, 30e experience was more than enough for 2 of us.
Beautiful extensive audio guided tour and at the end a nice port tasting. Recommended
Very good, I liked it a lot, and the beautiful place
Very nice, visit the authentic cellars + tasting on the terrace two 2 ports for 12 euros.
1 hour audioguide visit, we learn a lot about Porto even if the brand is very much in the spotlight, magnificent cellar.
There is a very nice smell in the cellars,
but basically we have not found out anything interesting from the guide and exhibition,
Testing only two samples of the cheapest port - generally a bit too expensive and overrated in comparison with another cellars.
Fantastic audio tour, wine, view and service. Recommend the Tawny Experience tasting. Can t wait to return!
Gorgeous estate with a self guided tour, which is ideal in the current context. Walking among the massive barrels and vats listening to the history of port wine and the methods of production was a delight. The tasting at the end couldn t come soon enough! Service in the tasting area was superb and sitting in the sunshine enjoying some Portuguese cheese and port wine with playful peacocks and an exuberant rooster was magical.
Wine tasting today , lunch tomorrow .
Such a lovely place . It's got stunning views from the terrace . Calm and peaceful .. Enjoy the wine
Employees were just ok friendly, not your typical Portuguese warmth, probably tired of tourists. Venue is nice and charming but only the restaurant terrasse had a nice view. That being said, menu had almost zero item from the Portuguese culture, so we opted for the cheese plate.. come for a drink to enjoy the view if you dont want to drop 70 euros for the same thing at the Yeatman.
The guided tour is worth the price of the ticket. You can pay by debit card and take the Italian audio guide.
For the sum of a few euros you can finally learn the history of port and different types of wine in an incredible setting and all in French. Tasting of 3 portos as a bonus
A really nice informative and fun tour guide around the winery wich ends with a wine/porto tasting and selection of cheese/ham and bread, in a cozy garden.
On the other side of the garden is a restaurant that will offer you a beautiful view to Porto and the river.
nice tour, good port and a great restuarant with a magnificent view!
Beautiful setting, welcome, good Porto!
Audio guide must love.
The tour with audio guide available in different languages is quite interesting. The tasting is not abundant but the wines are very good
Very good experience. The audio guide is very well done. At the end, the tasting takes place in a magical place.
