Very good brownies and other selections. Coffee was awesome as well. Highly recommend.
Very good brownies and other selections. Coffee was awesome as well. Highly recommend.
Easily some of the best coffee in the city. The cupcakes are great flavors too.
Always in for a treat!
Their cupcakes are to die for. Gtown cupcakes have nothing on them.
Their coffee, chaider (chai and apple cider) and lattes are so comforting.
Price point is so reasonable for DC.
I just wish the seating area is a little bit more modern and clean.
No wi-fi, guys!
One of the best cupcakes I have ever had! I got the Razmanian Devil which is a lemon cake with lemon buttercream and raspberry filling topped with an adorable heart. This had the potential to be a little too sweet but that was not the case. It was the perfect sweetness for a perfect summer day! Highly recommend!
Excellent all round. Relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Cheerful staff. Divine food and best cappuccino outside Italy!
Hands down the best cupcake place in Georgetown. They also have great coffee and quiches too.
We enjoyed breakfast and coffee here a couple of times during our stay. The morning rush was pretty intense, but find a picnic table down the nearby canal walkway if the weather is nice.
If you live in DC or even if you're just visiting, you need to try their cupcakes. The line is out the door most days, but WAIT in that line. Your taste buds will thank you. Take it to go though, because trying to sit inside with the sheer business is chaotic and uncomfortable. Order anything chocolate and you're golden. Not much of a coffee person, so I can't speak much for the "wired" side, but my caffeine-addicted friends tell me the coffee is worth the wait too! It's very fun to grab a cupcake and walk down to the waterfront with a couple of pals, and I have some precious memories involving food from this establishment! Don't miss out.
Best cupcakes in Georgetown! I promise you won't be let down!
Strawberry cupcake Incredibly Delicious. Wow. I hate icing on cakes but this was the perfect amount of icing to compliment the soft and fluffy cupcakes. Can wait to try the other variety of cupcakes that they have to offer.
Amazing cake cups and baked goods, love the texas sheet cake!
If you like desserts (cupcakes!) or coffee, this is a great joint to hit up! Lots of seating, and very hipster. All the cupcakes we've tried are phenomenal.
Large variety of cupcakes with fun flavors. Too sweet for me though
One of the best coffee shops anywhere. If you are in Georgetown, you must stop in here.
Baked & weird in Georgetown is the best cupcake and cake place ever there carrot cake, German chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes is my favorite from thereI recommend everyone to go and purchase try getting for party get him to make however many you want they will do it give them a time frame and they will let you know you will constantly go back and back baked & wired cupcakes and cakes are so delicious you have to try them visiting or live here I was passing through Washington District of Columbia Georgetown take some home with you and you will always go back for more
All excellent, good cafeteria. I recommend alfajores (with real dulce de leche) and meg's mounds.
My favorite place for D C cupcakes. Plan to wait in line. The icing is sweet and compliments the cake. Great cookies as well. I wish I lived closer.
The line to this place is crazy, though completely understandable. There were so many options, but I ended up getting the strawberry cupcake which apparently is a crowd pleaser. The ratio of cake to frosting was perfect. Considering that most cupcake places try to put more emphasis on the frosting, this was very refreshing. The frosting was simple and not overwhelmingly sweet (which most cupcake places somehow strive for even though it is unbearable). The cake portion was also just as good. With hints of strawberry pieces, the cake was sooo smooth and moist it was almost like eating angel cake. I wish there was a baked and wired in Philly!
My girlfriend and I came here on a Wednesday afternoon, wasn't busy at all. The staff were super nice and friendly. We did not have to wait at all and it was a very nice atmosphere. We got several cupcakes to try because we wanted to compare to Georgetown Cupcakes. They fell short of our expectations when it came to the cupcakes. They were very dense and felt more of a muffin with frosting on the top. We also got a chai tea, which was very good. Overall, I rated them with a 3 because we were expecting so much more from the cupcakes.
Next door coffee shop with separate counters for food and coffee. Good cupcakes. Can get very crowded but lines move fast. Come early if you want to skip the queues.
LOVE this place! Sweets are excellent and they also make great coffee! Only minor problem is that everyone knows this now so it is usually packed.
This is the FAVORITE Bakery of mine. The prices are phenomenal, and the tastes of the cupcakes are so special.
Very nice place to start a day with. I got coffee, chocalate cupcake and a croissant. Love everything!
Cupcake. Just do it. You will not regret one single bite. Promise.
Best cupcakes in DC!!! I used to work in Georgetown and I would go for a red velvet cupcake at least once a week. I swear someone's grandma is back there whipping work on these!!
Also there is barely ever a wait.
If you enjoy cake (especially cup cakes) then you ll want to make a stop here if you re in DC. The cup cakes they offer are phenomenal and there s a lot of variety. The carrot cake cup cake is my favorite, with the chocolate being a close second.
Be prepared to wait during peak hours though as this place is very popular.
Wonderful service. Even better cupcakes and a blondie to die for.
Look shahi latte and ice coffee is famous for them and B places your request Mtljh or hot
Cupcakes are not as good as sprinkles.but better than Georgetown cupcakes
My favorite cupcakes in DC. Way better than Georgetown Cupcakes. They are larger and more fresh with really fun flavors! I'm really picky about my cupcakes, and I would highly recommend.
Nice staff. Good cupcakes. Weren't overly welcome or super helpful when I told them this was my first time here. Iced coffee was OK but needed to be stirred (a lot) and took a while to get cold (soy milk wasn't kept in fridge).
Good pastries/sweets but the service is even better. Very cool & unique little place
Overall, the cupcakes are made pretty well and the amount of frosting is good, but the frosting is way too sweet even though there is so little compared to the cake. The cake is super moist and light.
Cozy and nice bakery shop. A lot of interesting options for desserts. However, it is a little bit overpriced once considered its moderate quality ingredients and taste. (4.29 USD for a single cupcake) I ordered Texas sheetcake and the peacan cream too sweet for my liking. The chocolate cake part was good though. Very hearty.
LOVE THIS PLACE...REALLY GOOD CUPCAKES ...YUM YUM YUM
Decent desserts and fast service, even with a line!
Man this place is great! I love the atmosphere when you first walk in and the staff is more than willing and able to go through any of the cupcakes and answer any of your questions. I couldn't choose just one because they all looked great. I got the dozen which included the plain vanilla, chocolate death, strawberry and a few others. I love cupcakes so the size of these were awesome and the flavor is going to have me coming back for years. There was also a great barista on the coffee shop side with a great selection a well. This place is a must go
The best cupcakes in the DMV!! I try to go when I m nearby. Better than Georgetown Cupcake, trust me! The Elvis cupcake is my favorite. The desserts are HUGE and perfect for sharing. I recommend getting a few cupcakes to share with friends and have a taste of each! They have many different options to accommodate taste preferences as well as dietary restrictions. The line can get long at times so be prepared to wait for the goodness. The coffee is good but the cakes are better.
Over rated too sweet cupcakes that doesn't have complex flavors as they market it to be. The pistachio one is good but the cardamom overpowers whatever flavors it's suppose to have. The cookies are too sweet too.
Ordered a standard cafe latte and liked their capucino blend. Good selections of coffee and tea. Great vibes with communal sofas and bar stools inside, a mix of business casuals and students!
Good cupcakes, would stop by more often if they could speed up that line.
Best cupcakes in town! But be warned they get slammed packed
Very small and tidy location but so worth the wait/amounts of people! I am always ordering the vegan Oreo cupcake and am completely satisfied every time. The base of the cake is plain chocolate so highly recommend eating the cupcake with a fork to enjoy the icing with every bite!
Pros: it's hard to think of one, coming back to this question. Oh, the cafe had a cutesy/uni grunge feel to it if you eat inside. And I suppose the food is photogenic.
Cons: could taste the baking soda/ powder throughout my Kahlua cookie, the 'cookies' were dry minimally flavoured cake, the sandwich cream was American sugar flavour. The chocolate cake: icing was ho-ho-hum, there wasn't much of it, the cupcake was again meh nothing of note. Queue was fairly long and moved pretty slowly (not the shop's fault but not worth the wait of you are tossing up whether to commit to a line), and the staff were understandably tired. The toilet hadn't been paid any attention for quite a while and the dryer sprayed a heavy pool of stagnant water everywhere - probably into your eyes if you're not careful. While it might wash away the taste of the food it's not hygienic.
I really wanted to love this place and we went out of our way to visit. Maybe a case of mismanaged expectations? But the quality just wasn't there.
I 'd probably go there next time I'm in town. The food was fantastic and the prices at the restaurant were decent for the week also the staff are friendly. Greatly recommended!
I love this place One of the top 10 cupcake and cookies hand made special design with funny names, less sugar than any cupcakes in DC area , you can set inside, they always busy that s why it s fresh :) keep it up guys all the best
Great bakery and decent coffee shop. The bakery gets busy and usually has a line; however, the line for the coffee shop is shorter. Our dog also loves their zillabonez treats they carry. The coffee bag selection is usually interesting, but I do find them kinda pricey. (Pricier than usual for that kind of coffee)
10/10 recommend! Line was long due to COVID concerns. Ordered via Grubhub and received my order in 20 minutes. The chia tea and apple cider beverage was SO GOOD! The caramelized onion quiche was also very good.
The most satisfying cupcake I've had- unique flavors, moist cake, and generous frosting. Their coffee is excellent, too.
Our goal was to go to the competition, famous for the reality show, but we are so glad we found this one first, by it's higher ratings. And the reviews are true. Best cupcake I have ever had and the most delicious coffee too. I bought 5 cupcakes to share with my daughter. It was.easier than choosing just one flavor. I did the Exorcist Stairs this morning because of it, but it was worth every step!!!
I had the drip Ruby coffee. It took forever to drip and the barista treated it like a baby, but it was worth it!!!! Craving it as I write this.
Fun place too. Lots of seating in and out. Cool and relaxed atmosphere. I don't understand why people were standing at a long line at the other one. Their loss!!!!
It's good, not incredible. I had the strawberry cupcake. I like thick and more icing. The icing was a bit too sweet. The cake though was great! Moist and with real strawberries <3
If you like exceptional coffee and baked goods, then you should make a trip to this shop. The lines can be a bit long sometimes, but the wares are worth the wait. They have definitely some of the best cupcakes in the area. On top of that, they have a variety of other sweet and savory treats.
The best of the best for a cool vibe and delicious food made by a chef that cares!
Favorite cupcake place in DC by far. The only other two I can think of that are considered contenders are Red Velvet which are horrible and Georgetown Cupcake which is the one with the TV show that while look pretty don't taste that great and have a horrendous line if you want to go.
Baked and Wired is the more Brooklyn-esque of the shops. Very cute, but there will be a line if you go at a high volume time. The cupcakes are creative and yummy, but also big so you don't need to overload on them. The names are also wonderfully scandalous. Plus the coffee and hippie crack (granola) are yummy. Do know that there's a separate line for cupcakes vs coffee so if you just want the coffee you don't need to wait in the main line. Recently I went and had the Uniporn and Rainho and Cherry Blossom cupcakes which were yum.
Go here instead of Georgetown Cupcake. Better cupcakes and shorter lines
Spiced chai cupcake with espresso frosting delish!
Bonus stars for the polite, friendly staff! Super impressed with one guy in particular (only wish I had gotten his name to shout it out).....cared not only about the customer but if his team was happy at work as well!
Love this place! They have super decadent cupcakes and their vegan option is chocolate! Also, they have a nice coffee/tea shop adjacent. Lines are always very long. Be prepared. Used to have a 4 star rating but went through the purchase process and it is so inefficient. They make you hold your items until you get to the register. Then you have no place to put your items and they rush you to finish your purchase. They could improve their space subsantially and treat customers better if they put money into improving their display and POP process.
Get wired with very good coffee. No wifi in the store though.
Always incredible baked goods. But the lines during the weekends can be insaneee. My favs include the elvis and pumpkin cupcakes. Nutella brownie was good but didn't taste like nutella.
Great baked goods and coffee. Definitely the hidden gem in DC, and these cupcakes are worth the modest wait. Definitely a DC institution that must be visited.
Great cupcakes. They have vegan cupcakes, tons of regular cupcakes, and other dessert options. They staff are very knowledgeable. And these cupcakes are HUGE! I can never finish it all in one sitting, so be prepared for yummy left overs. They also have a coffee shop attached for those who need their caffeine fix. The have limited seating options, but if you are persistent, you should be able to get a sear. They don't have wifi as a matter of policy (which I kind of secretly love). It really encourages people to hang out and talk with their friends, rather than play on their phones. "Karen's Birthday" is my personal favorite cupcake!
Love their cakes. Their coffee comes out of taps so that's cool.
There was a huge line outside it. We couldn t get what we came there for which were the ice cream sandwiches, but we got the cupcakes and we were happy with the taste
Baked & Wired got me hooked on cupcakes. Personal favorite is Strawberry, but you basically cannot go wrong.
People say that Baked & Wired is/was voted #1 best cupcake place in Georgetown, and that Georgetown Cupcakes is only popular because of the show. I've never really looked up their sources, no idea what poll/contest/etc it was on... but yeah Baked & Wired's cupcakes are very, very good. They have a great selection of unique flavors; they also offer other sweet treats if you're not in a cupcake mood. It's also connected to a coffee shop.
Baked & Wired is the only cupcake place I'd wait in line for...
A DC staple, creative names and wonderfully rich confections
This is my favorite coffee/ bake shop.
Even pre rona, there was frequently a line out the door. Worth it. Delightfully inventive cupcakes and other pastries.
What an adorable little shop! I had a devil's food chocolate cupcakes and I could have eaten them out of stock! Deep, dark chocolate and a perfectly moist cake with a showstopping ganache topping that was sweet but balanced enough that I didn't feel like death after I ate it. Plus, the attached Cafe offers coffee to wash it down and a cozy collection of couches and seating to hang out in. Wish I lived on D C just for the cupcakes.
Busy place. Packed need more space.
Needs vegan pastry options.
Coffee is not strong enough for me.
Recite the following mantra...tourists go to Georgetown Cupcake, locals go to Baked and Wired. With its just-off M Street location, it doesn't bring the same foot traffic as its more popular competitor, but Baked and Wired serves up enormous cupcakes and decadent brownies made with melted Callebaut chocolate. With non-traditional flavors that will delight even the most discerning sweet tooth, Baked and Wired also boasts super fast baristas serving perfect and well presented coffee beverages in a funky comfortable setting with large couches and overstuffed chairs.
Well loved in the area. People literally wait down the block for the cupcakes. If you come for coffee only then you can just go in. There are lots of the treats and cookies lined up in glass containers. There is some seating if you are lucky enough to catch a break in the crowd. We tried three cupcakes: chocolate with peanutbutter frosting, lemon and raspberry, and almond orangesicle. The lemon raspberry was our favorite.
Great cupcakes! I got the carrot cake and my partner got the chocolate peppermint - both are excellent! So many options and a nice cozy space. However, a line does form in the evening and the space can fill up.
Huge selection, including a few gluten-free and vegan options. Their gluten-free ice cream sandwich was well-worth the trip alone. Staff were friendly despite the crowds. Will definitely return!
Long lines, amazing food and drinks. Chaider is my favorite seasonal drink.
Good but not great. Stop by if you're in the area, I wouldn't call this a destination.
They offer a very wide selection of cupcake flavors so I opted to pick two and give them a try. Both had completely unique flavors that worked very well with the icing they topped them with. The bar side has a pretty wide selection of coffees and teas.
Super Long line. For average tasting cupcakes the size of big cake slices.. felt like I was gonna have diabetes if I finished my cupcake
Best bakery in all of Georgetown. Everything is so fresh and they always change up the menu. A must stop whenever I'm in the area. Every time I'm here its a must to load up on bread and cupcakes. They have a fairly large seating area compared to other bakeries around here. Plenty of street parking if you can find one.
