The baking surpasses the cupcake craze with killer pastries and desserts from pies to cookies. The cupcakes, what they're best known for, are large and decadent--they're more like mini wedding cakes than a light birthday cake many cupcakeries tend to serve.

The Wired component of the shop serves some strong coffee. I enjoy it and often my main purpose for an afternoon walk from my office to grab an Americano to make it over my 3pm slump.

Bacon biscuit was amazing. Coffee is amazing. They have a great product and the service knows they don't need to beg you to come back. You might have to be a little pushy with them to make sure you get what you want

I LOVE this place, I work in the building next door and I fell in love with their Honey Pecan bar as well as their Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies. Also, they had a lemonade that was amazing. Great place to stop by for a midday treat

Best cupcake ever. Had lemon raspberry and it is still on my mind. Beats Georgetown cupcake by a mile. You all need to create a cookbook and/or share your lemon frosting recipe with me!

On of the best cupcake places I've visited. Georgetown cupcakes can't even come close. I make it a point to stop by B&W anytime I'm in Washington DC to bring some home to the wife and kids - their eyes light up when they see the box. They have some really unique flavors with carrot cake being my favorite. Pretty Bithch'en (Peanutbutter) is really good too.

Georgetown Cupcakes came here because I heard that the strings are long. I was recommended to eat less, but I left the cream on top. The space inside is small so you can't sit down and eat it ~ If you come nearby, you can stop by and buy it, but it doesn't seem to come from far away.

I live in North Carolina and no DC trip is complete without a visit to Baked & Wired. The carrot cake cup cake is my go to. They have so many different baked goods (cupcakes, pies, cookies, brownies etc.) The employees are great too. Even even there s a line (and there frequently is) I never feel rushed to make my choices which is usually a big bag full. They ve also never run out of any items that I want even when it s the end of the day. Make this place a must go to on any DC trip & enjoy!

Best cupcake shop you'll find in DC. I'm a Washingtonian and have been going to enjoy their cupcakes, brownies, and desserts since the 'cupcake shop boom' happened. Georgetown cupcakes are overrated and Sprinkles come in second in comparison to Baked in Wired (just my opinion of course, but haven't met anyone who disagrees with me who have actually had Baked and Wired's cupcakes).

TRY THEM TODAY! They have extremely unique flavors and are to die for.

The drinks are okay but certainly not the best in all of DC. The cupcakes are some of the most overpriced and overrated garbage I have ever eaten. They were extremely dry with a terrible frosting to cake ratio. The workers are very rude. Why go here when Georgetown cupcakes is like a block away and at least 20 times better. You have to wait in a long line for both of them anyways so might as well get some actually good cupcakes. We spent 60 dollars on a dozen when you can spends 30 dollars on a dozen elsewhere and actually enjoy them.

I get cupcakes here every time I'm in D.C. My family introduced me to it when I was a lot younger and I've been hooked on it ever since. There's a huge variety of flavors and each cupcake is worth the $4.

Probably my favorite dessert stop in DC. Their salted caramel sammy is delicious and my favorite cupcakes are: Pumpkin Spice (seasonal), German Chocolate, and Carrot Cake. Rasmanian Devil and the Smurf are nice tart options. Their quiche is good too!

Love the atmosphere and different seating options here! Check out the back room for lots of napkin drawings courtesy of the patrons.

One of the two best espresso and pastry bars in the country IMHO....along with Olympia Coffee Roasters in the west coast Washington. I usually order the tallat, more commonly known as a cortado and also called a Gibraltar. The pastries and cupcakes are more extraordinary than the espresso actually. They introduced me to the coign amann (from Brittany, I believe). My daughter thinks their cupcakes are the best ever. Everything looks great.

I had an ice coffee and a cupcake. ..The ice coffee was ok. The cup cake was so fearlessly go.....i'd have to have superb descriptive skill to even convey how good it did taste. So just eat a few and find out the best way possible, how good they really are.

Locals recommended this shop to us instead of another famous one: Georgetown Cupcake. We didn't try Georgetown cupcake, but Baked and Wired didn't let us down.

You need to buy coffee and cupcake at two different sections, kind of weird. For cupcake, they only have one vegan option: Oreo flavor. We tried and liked it. Hope they have more vegan options in the future.

For coffee, you can swap milk for soy milk or other plant-based milk for additional 55 cents. We enjoyed the chai latte (with soy milk) and the ginger tea.

The shop is not that big with limited seats available. They don't have wifi either.

Overall, it's a great spot to stop by during your Georgetown visit. The neighborhood is beautiful and worth walking around.

Love this local coffee shop and happy it's doing so well despite the overrated coffee chains that have oversaturated every single market. The best espresso anywhere and they have a better selection of cupcakes than Georgetown and Sprinkles combined.

Baked and Wired has the best cupcakes in Georgetown hands down. I have tried all 3 of the main cupcake places in Georgetown and this one definitely has my vote. The cupcakes are large (called cakecups) and they have just the right amount of frosting. The cake is moist and substantial. They have some fun flavors too. I go there whenever I am in the area.

Biscuit wasn't all that people claimed it to be but that may be as I had lived in the south. Lots of interesting cupcakes but overall nothing made it worth the trip to this place. If you happen to be in the area though...

I love this idea. A note for non-sweet lovers, skip the line and head straight in to get wired! Splitting the shop into the Bakery and the coffee shop is genius for juggling those in need of a caffeine fix with those with an insatiable sweet tooth. A rotating menu of cupcakes and other confections guarantees great repeat value, no need to have "the regular," just switch it up every time you go in!

Pros:

Pros:
The staff was quite nice
Lots of options

Cons:
Very long lines
Limited GF options

Baked & Wired has the best cupcakes in DC--hands down! If you haven't been yet, this is a must. It is one of the top spots that I bring visitors, or go to for office treats. The Elvis impersonator is a favorite. It sounds like a lot of flavors, but it's not over powering. If you're feeling adventurous and don't mind pork, definitely ask for the bacon on top. Other favorites are the Chai, and Cherry Blossom.

It was something different compared to the other Georgetown place. I went specifically for cupcakes. These are monsters, more like cakes the size of cups. We haven't tried all of them yet but some flavors are better than others. Overall it was nice to have something different but I prefer the other place all things being equal. That said, Baked & Wired does cater more as a coffee shop with a larger menu than just cupcakes. It was pretty busy inside.

Easily the best cupcakes and baked goods in Georgetown, arguably the best coffee (Stumptown is a strong debate). I work in the coffee industry and take a 12 mile bike ride for the nitro and cherry pie, if that says anything.:-)

I LOVE Baked and Wired--more for the wired than the baked, but that's just me. The service is so great here. I usually go in, dumbfounded, and I am always helped by a friendly smile. The only situations rise when the person in front of me has the same name but totally different drink, but it happens. Anyway, they do not have sugar free syrups, which is why I can only give 4 stars, but the lattes are great. The barista does really lovely art with the foam that is sure to make your drink 10x better. On a hot day, their iced teas are worth the trip in. Don't be intimidated by the line (if there is one); it moves quickly.

I don t normally make definitive statements but Baked & Wired produces the best cupcakes in town. Granted they don t draw crazy lines like the Georgetown neighbour but that more about branding than quality.

Want to consistently experience the best tasting bakery in the district? Look and gobno further than this place.

Very delicious cupcake! ! It is bigger than normal cupcakes. I was surprised to see that it was amazing in color, but the taste was normal and not too sweet.
Because George Town does not have a subway, I recommend using a circulator (bus).

I don't know where to start. Fantabulously delicious. For a store with a line out the door it was the most pain-free experience...I went in, ordered 15 assorted cupcakes and was back out the door in under 10 minutes. I bought them for my sister's pre-wedding party. She took one bite of the pistachio and said, "Oh my God, maybe I shouldn't eat these...my wedding cake may not taste good after having this." We had 7 different kinds and someone fell in love with each. We ended up cutting some up so we all could taste more flavors which is no issue as these babies are HUGE!

This place was just OK. They were pretty pricey, and what they delivered wasn't really amazing and deserving of five stars. This is where they lost the two stars:

1) No wifi? Seriously? I can't believe in 2017 you can go into a coffee shop and not have wifi. I just got the impression that they don't care because they get so much traffic that they want people to come in and get out.

2) The brownies were WAY too sweet. My wife and my father-in-law got their specialty brownies, and they were sickeningly sweet. My wife loves eating chocolate and sweets at night for dessert, but these were so sweet she barely finished them.

3) It's pricey for what it is.

4) Lastly, while waiting for the single bathroom in the place I was dripped on from the ceiling, and when I looked down I saw two worn spots in the carpet from regular dripping. It wasn't even raining.

All in all we enjoyed the experience of sitting in a cafe because we needed a break from the sun, but I wouldn't come back. Their ordering process was also confusing being that they have a bakery side and a coffee side, but you can buy the coffee on either side...then just go tell the other side you bought it. Without a receipt. Very confusing, especially when traveling with someone from out of the country.

Best cupcake place in DC, hands down. There is no competition. So many creative choices, large and delicious cupcakes, and plenty of other treats for people that don't like cupcakes! The line is long, but typically goes through pretty quick. My only criticism would be that there is very little seating inside, but it's right near the Georgetown waterfront, so grab your cupcake and go sit by the water for a beautiful weekend afternoon!

Great ambiance and even better cupcakes. Cupcakes are larger than normal, so you get more cake for your buck. I got a very tasty dirty chai cupcake! Nice areas to sit and relax, and they also have a coffee bar.

Spinach and feta cheese quiche is divine! If you're looking for a vegan cupcake, this place has options..all kinds of biscotti, including pistachio, to an oatmeal buttercream filled cookie..delish!

Cupcakes at Baked and Wired are excellent, and you can get coffee/beverages too. The only downside is that the space is small and almost always very crowded, so not great if your plan is to sit down and spend some time enjoying the sweet treat.

Absolutely heavenly! As a gourmet cupcake lover, I have tried all of the local chains and none compare. After hearing a coworker mention Baked & Wired, I became extremely intrigued and had to try them since I never heard of them beforehand. When I first visited, there was a slight line, but it moved at a decent pace, as the workers quickly obtain and immediately box your order before you reach the register.

The store has a vintage, hip theme that differentiates it from the other cupcake chains in a fun, unique way. The most appealing aspect is the size; the cupcakes are not miniature snacks but instead LARGE-sized treats. You can literally split one amongst three individuals. The flour is light and fluffy without any dense chunks, making it easy to consume. The flavors are pretty standard, and they are permanent, so you don't have to worry about missing your favorite, as their always there. I love the strawberry, raspberry lemon and coconut. The savory goodness is authentic and rich, literally the best I have ever tasted. It intertwines a homemade touch with a nice gourmet kick. I highly recommend them and officially coin them as the best gourmet cupcake retailer in the DMV area!
