Why even bother going to those other cupcake places in Georgetown? (You know which ones I'm talking about!) Even with their spike in popularity/line waiting time over the past couple of years, I don't think I'll ever get enough of their cupcakes and coffee. If you're tired of the same old red velvet cupcake, get the seasonal Smurfette (blueberry/lemon) or the Elvis (peanut butter frosting/banana cake/chocolate drizzle) WITH bacon. Definitely worth it.

I usually like Baked and Wired because their cupcakes are delicious, and they have a lot of allergy friendly foods. As someone who suffers from an intolerance to wheat flour, this is important to me. Last night I purchased a dozen assorted cupcakes, asking for one gluten free option. When I opened the box at my event, the gluten free option was not distinguished from any of the other cupcakes, and the flavor was different than what was listed on the website. I tried to call the bakery, however when you call you are directed to an answering machine. I sent an email to determine which cupcake was actually the gluten free cupcake, and received a response after the event was over at 10 pm. This could have been avoided had the bakery 1. added a distinguishing marks on special cupcakes (perhaps a different color parchment paper), or 2. put the special cupcake in a separate box from the other cupcakes.

This place is cute and all but the cupcakes are way too overrated. Too sweet and sugary. Nothing too outstanding. The staff wasn't helpful at all. We entered the shop and was trying to figure out what to get.. and we told them that it was our first time and that we were clueless. The women there said ok. Thats it.

The strawberry cupcake is one of the best I've ever had. They have a bunch of other cupcakes and cookies in stock and wonderfully displayed. When you walk into this place there are two paths; one, to the right for coffee and two to the left for the sweets. Typically the line is for the sweets, so go to the front and see what the line is for - as the coffee tends not to be the longer line. The only ding on this place is their seating inside. It's dark, cramped and feels forced. It's not the type of place where you will hang out for too long - and I semi think it was designed that way.

Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

You want your DC Cupcake -- go here. This place actually serves you a cupped cake and it's glorious. The knowledge is quickly growing and the line has been getting longer and longer. But if you are here for a cupcake it's worth your wait. Protip: there are actually 2 lines, one for cupcakes and one for coffee... if you are interested in the latter you can most likely skip the line.

Went to the coffeehouse (which had absolutely no line, whereas the bakery side was packed), and immediately spotted a coffee that I've never seen before: the tallat (which is apparently a fancy Catalan way of saying a cortado). So of course I had to get that.

It was one of the best coffees I've had in the DC area. Just the right amount of bitterness from an espresso, with flavors heightened through the thin layer of warm milk. It didn't leave you feeling bloated like a latte would, yet it didn't dampen the wonderful coffee flavors of an espresso.

Would definitely recommend this place (specifically the tallat) for anybody looking for a bit of a coffee adventure in the District.

The cupcakes are delicious and larger than Georgetown Cupcakes or Sprinkles so you get more for your money. And the flavors are very creative. My only issue is with the ice tea. It's overpriced and tastes weird. Also, they don't offer lemon. Not cool.

Personally if you are looking for cupcakes at the Georgetown area, you must try here. I had pistachio cupcake, it s not too sweet yet flavorful. Sitting at their outside area, enjoying the cupcake scenic neighbor is super relaxing.

These are the best cupcakes in DC in my opinion. Bigger cupcakes for your money with a much wider and creative array of flavors. The Tessita (yellow cake with chocolate icing and dulce de leche filling) is my go-to, or the strawberry (made with real strawberries!) if you aren t in the mood for a cupcake but want something sweet, they also have biscottis, cookies, and an assortment of other creations the beesting is a good salty/sweet alternative. Coffee is also available!

Definitely the best cupcakes in DC, you can tell they use good ingredients. Love their birthday cakes too, but it would be good if they catered to custom cake designs. You will find long lines on the weekends.

So I have to say I was SUPER disappointed that there was a line out the door for cupcakes on Saturday... this used to be a more off the beaten path location. However when I lived in DC it was by far my favorite cupcake destination. It's a heavy, moist cake with decadent frosting, unlike the competition up on M street (you know who I mean) which has smaller and fluffier cupcakes.

Georgetown Cupcakes is to tourists what Baked and Wired is to DC locals. Hands down DC's favorite cupcake. This location is off the Georgetown canal on a side street and beautiful. One side sells pastries and dozens of cupcakes. They are much bigger than Georgetown Cupcakes and they come in a wax paper wrapping. On the right side of the store is a coffee shop selling excellent coffee. In the back, they have art and seating to enjoy your cupcake and coffee. The only downside is they don't have wifi so don't come here to work. Come for the cupcakes!

The cupcake wars are apparently on in Georgetown. While we did not try Georgetown Cupcakes (due to the line out the door like some posh night club) the popularity and appeal of this sweet-shop cannot be overlooked. There was a large selection of sweets in addition to cupcakes included brownies, cookies and pies. The baked goods were excellent, layered with flavor and thick with substance. The distracting quality of the baked goods was the poor performance by the coffee counter on the opposite side of the shop. The lattes we tried to force down were of the quality and taste somewhere between a Starbucks Latte and McCafe Latte. This said, go for the baked goods then walk the canal to Dean & Deluca's for your latte.

All the cupcakes are amazing, they have a large selection of delicious cupcakes...Well, the staff are very nice. They are very organized during this Covid 19 pandemic. Good customer service. Will definitely recommend this shop.

Delicious and amazing selection of sweet treats! There are so many wonderful cupcakes and biscuits to choose from. It would be great if they did mini versions of variety packs of the offerings so you can sample a tasting of a few types!

They have a really good selection of flavors and always seem cheery when I show up, though this is only the second time I have been there. Highly recommend if you are having some kind of office function where you need desserts.

Yes! This joint has the cupcake game on lockdown. Wait times can be long with a line forming outside (order ahead on Grubhub maybe) but it s certainly worth the wait! Friendly service too, & once you re inside and have placed your order, you do get it quickly.

The cupcakes here taste good and are much bigger than the competitors' in Georgetown. Baked and Wired cupcakes are the most reasonably priced cupcakes in Georgetown. When I came a few weeks ago, I saw a couple who had just bought cupcakes from a different shop come in to buy more cupcakes at Baked and Wired and comparing the sizes.

Overcrowded and probably overpriced but truly delicious baked goods. I also love the decor and in particular the art they had on the walls when I was there last week. The cupcakes are too big for me personally but they are so so good and beautiful presentation. Moist and delicate and omnomnom. I would recommend this as a cute spot to stop by before an early movie, though they close too early for it to be much of an evening destination. Cute!

Simple delicacies is how I'm going to describe these cupcakes. For us in a pandemic, the queue was long but well worth it. I can see that it was amazing here. The food they had was great. So tasty, man. It's really new produce. It's highly recommended.

I had the strawberry cupcake and the chocolate with vanilla frosting cupcake. They were both so good!! They are a really good size for the price too. So glad we went here instead of Georgetown cupcake.

Probably the best cupcake I've ever had. I'm not much of a cupcake person, and my partner isn't either. However, we agreed that this is a delicious cupcake after trying the red velvet - a classic. Frosting isn't overdone, and it definitely is large enough to share even if you don't want to give it up!

This place is off the hook. As a long time washingtonian I grew up on birthday cakes from safeway. As a child i wasn't concerned about all of the bad ingredients in the cake. It was a cake....it was sweet and it was my b-day. Since then i have tried various bakeries throughout the dmv. Baked and Wired is by far the best. My favorite is the carrot cake. You can order online and have it delivered or schedule a pick up. However you get it........get it.

Maybe I had my hopes too high based on the reviews, but I think they're average. They are way bigger in size for about the same price as other places- which is a big plus. The employees weren't very friendly either, and seemed inconvenienced to answer questions about the flavors. 420 gear is cool

My dad used to take me here as a kid, and I always thought they were better than Georgetown Cupcakes.

I had the opportunity to visit again as an adult. Their Great Pumpkin cupcake is the best I have ever had. I can't imagine another bakery making one better. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the box.
