This is my favorite place to get coffee in DC! Yes, I said coffee, not cupcakes. The coffee and hot beverages here are soooo good - if you come in the fall, be sure to try the Chaider (chai spiced hot cider) - it s delicious! The cupcakes are also great but the lines are ridiculous, it s usually a much shorter wait if you re just there for a hot drink. 10/10 would recommend!

Everyone raves about this place but I don't get it. The cupcakes are good but not amazing ( It depends on flavor). Coffee was fine. Seating is also very strange.
Had a queue outside and you know that's a good sign !! Vegan Oreo cupcake was INSANELY good. Definitely the best in town. Visited with a local friend and he has tried them all. This is the best place to get cupcakes!!
Ordered recently by Door Dash, and have zero grievances. This is the best shop here, Baked & Wired, and they always make great food. The staff are polite and nice, recommended for sure!
Really enjoyed this place. The dirty chai latte has really strong flavor and the cupcakes are quite fantastic, though you probably have to have a sweet tooth. The flapjack cupcake comes with bacon sprinkles and is SO good, but I found the icing a bit too sweet (mind you, this is a personal opinion and I think most people would not be bothered by this at all). The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, though of course it was busy - there was some guy playing a guitar outside which is also kind of fun. The best thing about the experience is that the baristas aren't pretentious like some places I've visited.
Incredible bakery and coffee shop in one with a library lounge setting. The carrot cupcake and walnut chocolate chip cookie are out of this world, coffee is perfectly made too.
OMG ITS A MUST VISIT!!!! By far one favorite spots the cookies, coffee & cupcakes are so delicious. My favorites is the German chocolate and the almond orangesicle. The cake is so moist i can really taste each ingredient the icing is so creamy. The people are so welcoming & accommodating i highly recommend ten stars this is my usual weekend spot
Wonderful spot in Georgetown for baked goods and delicious coffee. There was a long queue to order and the place was crowded, but we enjoyed everything. No WiFi.
Having written a baking and dessert blog for several years, I always recommend B&W when people ask me for my DC cupcake recommendations. The cupcakes are enormous, which actually makes you feel like you're getting your money's worth for, oh, maybe the first time ever in this city. The coffee is great, the atmosphere and vibe are chill, I only docked them one star because the location is pretty inconvenient if you're not a Georgetown local. Can't wait to check out their new location opening soon!
Definitely the best cupcake shop in Georgetown! Baked and Wired blows all the others away. They have unique flavors and normal ones you d expect. The cupcakes are huge (especially compared to the traditional Georgetown cupcakes) and the frosting is delicious. The cake part isn t too dry, either. The cupcakes and pastries are kinda expensive, but it s Georgetown, and the prices line up with all the other bakeries.
The coffee is great! I usually order the dirty chai, but I ve purchased their normal dark roast beans and brought them home to brew. My only complaint is it gets realllly crowded and congested if you come at a busy time, but that s normal for the area and I don t think they can do anything about it.
Haven't tried them yet, but walked out with some donut muffins after waiting in a line that started halfway down the block. DONUT MUFFINS. Smelled really good in there.
I can't believe I paid $4 for ONE cookie, but damn it was good. By the constant traffic in and out of the store during the 10 minutes we were there, lots of other people were doing the same. I wouldn't return, the sole reason being the price.
Pretty crowded place. Compare to George Town Cupcake, bigger portion of the cupcakes, not enough icing on top. More options other than cupcakes, more seats. My friends were all saying this place is better than George Town Cupcake, but personally, I disagree. In my opinion, they are about the same, but George Town Cupcakes are smaller, so I could've tried more flavors.
Great cupcakes and nice vibe for doing work. Definitely one of those places that used to be for locals but has been found by tourists. However, during the week and odd hours it really can be a great productive space where you can give yourself a treat and a caffeine boost! I also love the coconut cupcake its one of my favorite!
Amazing cupcakes, coffee and service! Everybody is super friendly, it s such a treat coming here. Best cupcakes in D.C. & great quiches and savory items too.
Very cool and trendy local/neighborhood bakery and coffee shop. The staff was friendly and the coffee and cookies were great! Why go to Starbucks or Pete s when you have something great and local like this? Definitely worth a stop if you re in the area.
They have the best cupcakes in the entire DC area in my opinion. They use the freshest ingredients and they aren't overly sweet. The cupcakes are huge. One easily serves two people. I had extras which I froze individually in quart bags. Their cookies, breads etc also looked good but I've only tried their cupcakes.
One of the better cupcakes in DC. Other places may receive more publicity but in my view this is the best. The bakery has a hipster vibe and places where you can hang out while you drink your latte and consume the baked goods. The cupcakes were moist and did not taste like they had been frozen. If you like cupcakes this is worth the visit.
I was in Georgetown on the hottest day in march 2017 and my friend suggested a cupcake from baked and wired. I was skeptical bc so many cupcake shops people rave about serve dry, underwhelming cake in a cup with a tower of icing. Not this place. My strawberry vanilla cupcake was super moist, contained chunks of strawberries, and was lightly frosted with a buttercream icing. It had some weight to it too--the moistness of the cake, maybe? I cannot wait to take another trip to the Georgetown area to stop in Baked and Wired. PS: the line moved very fast
Forget Georgetown Cupcake. This is the place to go for cupcakes in DC. Worth the wait. You won t regret your decision. I have tried just about all of the cupcakes and baked goodies and have yet to be disappointed.
More of a 3,8 star, but I don't have that option. Ordered the caramel nut bar and pistacio cupcake. Came to $9ish and the price was a little high in my opinion, for the quality and size.
The nut bar was amazing.
The cake part of the cupcake was great, flavourful, and moist, the frosting was gritty, but the flavor was decent.
The service was awful. The woman working was indifferent and seemed annoyed by the customers and questions people were asking.
Baked and Wired is a great little spot, however visitors be warned, 'wired' is the correct term; as the coffee may give you a buzz, but if you're hoping to sit and do some work, this place is wired but no WiFi
This is easily the best cupcake shop in DC. The vanilla cupcakes are moist, the frosting is second to none, and the fruit options are incredible. There's a bit of a line when you go but it moves quickly.
I've been off the cupcake craze for years, but I think that Baked & Wired could get me hooked back on! Or as they call them, cakecups.
These cupcake-like creations are small (but big enough for two people) topped with a healthy portion of frosting and wrapped in parchment paper. They're $3.75 each and there are so many flavors. Dirty chai (chai spices and espresso buttercream frosting, YUM), flapjack, peppermint patty, unicorns and rainbows, and even the conventional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc. There's even a gluten free option.
Baked & Wired has other baked goods too, like biscotti, breads, coffee cake, cookies, muffins, pies, etc. So it's not just a cupcake shop. They also have coffee and espresso (partitioned off to the right of the shop, separate from cakecups and other baked goods), from roasters like Stumptown and Intelligentsia. They also sell coffee beans from these roasters. Make sure you look at the very bottom of the drinks menu for some laughs.
I've had a couple of their cakecups and all of them have been soft and moist. The frosting can be a bit much sometimes (I'm not a huge frosting fan), but I just scoop off a bit and it doesn't end up being saccharinely sweet.
I personally prefer Baked & Wired over Georgetown Cupcake and judging from the 2000+ reviews and the solid 4-star rating, I must not be the only one.
This place is unbelievable! I couldn't imagine rating it less than 5 stars. Coffee was really good and the cookies and cookie/ice cream sandwiches were amazing. When I come back to D.C. I'm coming back here
A neat bakery/coffeeshop, with lovely decor and friendly service. The baked goods were just OK, I probably wouldn't eat here again. The coffee was delicious, and most people seemed to agree as the line for coffee was nonstop during my half hour or so there.
We all enjoyed the cupcakes. They might look small but can be amazingly filling. Place is cramped but given that it is Georgetown not much can be said on that front.
Been my fav place for the past few years. The cakecup, yes cakecup and not cupcake, is delicious and come in a nice size. Hint: it's almost a cup full. The coffee on the other side isn't bad, but definitely try to get one that matches your sweet treat to really bring out the flavor. This spot doesn't get that pack, but it can at peak hours. If you don't feel like going to Gtown Cupcakes, then this is a good substitute.
Baked and wired has the best cupcakes in DC. The cake is fresh and the flavors are always good. They have plenty of options for everyone, and their ice cream is great too. I have never been disappointed here.
The line can be pretty long and daunting, but these are definitely the best cupcakes in DC. FYI, if you just want coffee bypass the cupcake line and go to the coffee line on the right. Loses one star for value.
I came here with some friends after dinner, and wow the line was long! I got a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting, and I really liked that the frosting had actual peanuts in it and it wasn't too sweet. The cake was moist but didn't have a lot of chocolate flavor. For a cupcake that is $4.40 post-tax, I expected better but the cupcake was good for what it was (I'm a bit torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars, but waiting in the long line and the high price just doesn't warrant the quality I got). The cupcake was quite big though so at least there's that!
Good vibes, good treats, good coffee. A quintessential little coffee shop that fits right into the classic Georgetown vibes. This place is not overated unlike other (cupcake) places out there.
I thought the coffee with some of the worst I've ever had. The flavor just was not there but maybe it was a bad day. The place was packed, it was hard to find somewhere to sit and waiting was out the door. We ended up trying some of the food too and it was okay... I just didn't think anything was that great. We had cupcakes, quiche and a brownie.
They're good but I've had them twice and afterwards was left feeling cloy. The frosting is too rich. So if you don't like buttercream icing, might want to skip. Or try something else. I tried the Strawberry, Elvis, Smurfette, and a Chocolate one.
Love this place. They are adhering to solid COVID safety standards. The rasberry crunch bars are heavenly. The cupcake and cookie selection is delightfully overwhelming.
Coffee on one side, baked goods on the other, always a line. If you haven't had enough hipster in your life, this place will get your fix. On the other hand, the coffee is delish. Not a lot of sitting space, but some tables outside and you can always just squat on the window ledge.
