Never again will go back to Aviva car Insurance. In 2016 a motorcyclist made a false claim and said that i reverse into him and knocked him over. Nothing like that happended they sent an expert to look at my vehicle and despite the expert confimed that my vehicle clearly wasnt involve in an accident Aviva still paid the claim making me loose 1 year no claim bonus and up till today each time i get a policy i have to say i was involve in an accident even thats not true. I think aviva encourage scammers. STAY Away from them

Great day rate but oppressive and unrealistic expectations from oppressive target driven managers. No confidence inspired either, just pressure pressure pressure
AVOID, NOT TO BE TRUSTED. In 1991 I took out a pension with them. Their rep said use them don't put money with your company scheme. We will double your money every 5 years. After 10 years the money I had put in had hardly grown I complained, they did not deny that I had been mis-sold the pension, but said I have complained to late. I asked if I could transfer away from them and they said that it would cost me 25% of my fund. Since then my fund is not growing as a 4% charge is applied pa. Customer Services don't care. PLEASE AVOID AVIVA.
Hate Online Service given from your additional companies (Quotemehappy.com) Can't emphasise my hate I have messaged you many times, with no positive response,I've always been told the same thing and haven't been helped even once. team@quotemehappy.com Please respond to my emails with some help
I can understand other reviews wanting to give 0 stars. Aviva are a slovenly, incompetent company whose claims on their Complaint page are untrue. They do not pay attention to what you say, they do not keep you informed, they do not learn from previous bad service and they have nothing to be "proud of their service" for. All I wanted to do was close a trust fund and it took 2 months of chasing and the complaint still not resolved after 4 months.
I was involved in a non fault accident my insurer aviva had my car sent to solus epsom, there approved repairer there work on replacing the rear bumper was good the paint matched etc,
upon picking the car up it still had a warning light and the signals were blinking too fast, I refused to take the car as it was not fixed to its pre existing condition before the accident, solus told me its pre existing damage and not caused by the accident therefore will not fix it,
I sought legal advice and was told to acquire the report from bmw, upon receiving the report from bmw it did not say that the problem was pre existing, the report states that the problem occurred at the time of the accident so I had been lied to by aviva and solus epsom,
My legal representative contacted the managing director of solus and provided him with the evidence of the damage being caused by the accident,
the next day I received a phone call from aviva and solus saying they will take the car back and rectify the problem,
all this hassle took 2 months and ive had to hire a car myself and will be looking to be reimbursed by aviva.
very very bad !!! one of those to big to fail company's im afraid they direct you to phone if you will dummy offices number that do not answer your questions and speak very poor English when you phone and say that someone is representing you they give a different claim number I have had the most horrid experience with aviva and will never use them again !!! also there quote me happy insurance company is just as bad do your homework and stay away from charlatans ... you just dont get any service anymore
Dishonest company with terrible customer service. I had a problem with my extractor fan due to water damage. They sent out someone who didnt even switch it on, and said the motor was completely burnt out and therefore not Aviva's liability. I told them the motor was running fine, and it was to do with water getting in the electicals. They send another so called expert who said the whole thing was working 100% fine and no water damage, except he didnt get within 6 feet of it. The 'expert' stood in my kitchen and watched me switch it on to show him it wasnt the motor and then wrote another bogus report to let Aviva wiggle out of paying anything. Aviva then washed their hands of the problem, despite having two 'expert' reports which say opposite things. Happy to take you money but will do anything they can not to pay out or help in any way. Avoid avoid avoid.
the most unprofessional and unreliable people to deal with! easy on taking the money but when it comes to claim they are the most difficult to deal with as well as no number to get in touch with to talk to someone! do not waste your time or money on these bunch cowboys! CHECK THE REVIEW BEFORE GETTING YOUR INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY.
Poor service had an accident 4wks ago still haven't contacted 3rd parties insurance instead they asking me for more info 3ks later. I will reply via email repeating the same story one more time. Been trying to get thrunby phone for 3wks.
Currently have home and auto insurance with Aviva, and took out annual travel insurance (adding travel disruption to the policy) in January after booking a holiday to Japan for this May. At that time, Coronavirus appeared to be limited to China so we didn't have any concerns about traveling to Japan. Went online to chat with a representative today since now our trip is looking more uncertain and with non-refundable flights, I wanted to see where we stand in the event of needing to cancel due to Coronavirus. Under the travel disruption terms and conditions, they will allow a claim if there is a pandemic or epidemic influenza in the area you are traveling to. The Aviva representative said that only influenza is covered, not Coronavirus, despite this being a more dangerous virus. He actually wrote the following (from the chat transcript): "Currently the infection and death rate for Coronavirus is lower than common flu so it is not as dangerous at the moment..." That told me all I need to know about Aviva - we will be looking for another insurer for home, auto and travel since they are clearly doing all they can not to pay out. If they do this for travel, then I wouldn't trust them with a home or auto claim.
Update 26.7.20. Upgrading my review for Aviva as I went to Twitter to request a refund for unused annual travel insurance, since all our trips were cancelled by the airlines this year and we will not be able to use our insurance. Two very helpful customer service representatives agreed to refund us about 50% of the cost of our insurance and to cancel it today. This restores my faith somewhat in Aviva and as such we will likely keep our business with them in the future.
No longer will choose Aviva They keep you waiting and waiting, never answer the help or emergency phone line when you need to claim the building damage in a nasty weather, despite you have been with them for over 10 years. They definitely don not deserve your expensive loyalty.
I was the victim of a van break in, the thief used a key jiggler (available on Amazon!) so clean entry into my van. Aviva refused to support my claim as not enough violence used. I was a loyal customer for four years, will never use them again for anything. I have had to withdraw from my pension plan because of Aviva. Do not use!
Have had my house insurance with this bunch on Muppets for the last 7 years, not claimed before, but decided to call about water damage to my internal decoration in my house due to central heating system problems , pleased to say after More
Just had the most frustrating call with Aviva Life. Cannot provide a quote for Life Insurance. I am an existing customer with a joint Life policy, why do I need to provide all my details again to get a new quote? If I need to insure my wife on my car, I do not need her consent to get a quotation, why should that be different for Life or any other insurance?? To take out the policy my wife would have to read and sign all the documents so there is the check point. I am an existing customer trying to spend more money with you. Surely it cannot be that difficult!
Aviva is cheap than some insurance companies and at the time of buying is a good company. But that is about it. Rest everything else is also cheap.
If someone gets stuck with them over a small something they will give you the worst time. A friend of mine was harassed by some team in their company because of a claim. His claim was termed fraudulent. He was threatened legal action. His policy got cancelled. The cherry on the cake was when all his policies with them were cancelled one by one. He stupidly had put all his policies with them. This should be a learning to all. Never put all your policies with one company. It will be like all eggs in a single basket. He got some relief finally at Ombudsman. He came to know that most cases at Ombudsman against an insurance company is Aviva. While he admits he was not careful in giving facts, Aviva's incentive seeking staff blew the thing out of proportion.
Just make a small mistake and they will hound you like rabid dogs. Many people on review sites are paid by insurance companies themselves. Insurance companies are not friends of anyone, least Aviva.
very bad experience with home emergency cover. I had issues last year with my car insurance as well, I was told by the customer care officer that they are short staffed and therefore could not contact me although I had been promised a call back.
No stars should be awarded, they'll take your cash but won't assist in the event you need to make a claim. Definitely choose alternative insurance cover. Completely worthless. April 2017
I have an old contract, but since a few month it is impossible to reach anyone. I receive a regular letter with a lot of information on it and an address in Poland, but the phone number doesn't work and if you send a letter it will be returned ( undeliverable). That is spooky and doesn't make me feel good. I invested a lot money in a "life & pension" contract. I am living in Germany and nobody can assist here.
If I could I wouldn t give even a one star. They are thiefs. Supporting those who are taking advantage instead the honest ones. Just want to take your money, but not there when need to defend their clients. Don t recommend at all!
Our staff pensions go through Aviva but they never mentioned that they take a week to take payments once we authorise them. A week. So we missed a deadline and suffered a fine from the regulator. When I complained they tell me that "everyone knows these things take a week". Then they investigated our complaint themselves and exonerated themselves and tell me there is no appeal to an independent body. There is a Latin expression used in insurance uberrimae fidei - utmost good faith. I recommend that you do not put your faith in these people
Starbucks and a Costa on the 11th, but bring someone with a visitor badge to floor 21 to get waiter service and free coffee. Nice big curvey TV in the basement. Avoid lifts 1 and 7.
Pity I can't give no stars because that would more perfectly reflect my opinion of Aviva (pension) service. They don't answer the phone once you've received recorded option message... and I don't mean they keep you waiting 45 minutes and then answer...they don't answer even after an hour waiting; not just at peak times either. They also don't answer emails. And if you want a real laugh (or cry/scream) try their "live" chat. It's dead! Oh and one more thing: their online web service is an absolute nightmare. On the very rare occasion that I have actually got to speak someone, they've been helpful...sort of... so I imagine their main problem must be chronic staff shortage. Whatever it is...they are a dreadful company. And I'm now giving up on trying to get in contact.
