I'm conflicted the kids had a great time, me not so much, room is good, the restaurant is limited as they offer the same through out 10 days of our stay, staff in the front of the restaurant aren't nice, the menu has 3 fish cooked in different sauce, the service is slow some servers are nice others not that much, expensive for the quality of food, wouldn't go again

The resort was quite nice place to just walk around and see, as I did. But, would be even more of an amazing experience to stay at even if it's for just one night.

Had my 70th birthday party at Ama Ama restaurant. It was totally perfect. The building is architecturally fascinating, completely open air. Staff is super friendly and efficient.
Beaches are beautiful. Best experience that Disney has to offer. The water activities were loved by my children. The restaurant are first class and have kid friendly options. Will definitely be back here. GREAT JOB Disney.

Very nice room. Excellent pool area and service. Down sides - $$$. Parking is ridiculous, food price is ridiculous, overnight stay price is ridiculous. Had to get a villa as it wouldn't let me sleep 3 kids in a standard room.

Pedicure was fabulous ... The resort is very crowded and the layout was very confusing.
We went to this Aulani Luau with our whole family. It was fun and a one time activity for our family.
Love heading our here for the weekend.. gives us much needed time away to enjoy with the family!
THEY SERVED ROTTEN HONEYDEW AT Makahiki.
We had breakfast buffet next they we arrived.
My husband had a 1 peice of honeydew after 30-40min he started to vomiting.
Line chef smelled them and threw the whole plate on buffet away.
Talked to the manager, he took only my husband's bill out of the total check.
All of sudden he ran to the bathroom vomitted more. Never seen him vomiting after 10years marrige.
We had to call the EMS.
30min later they came.
Thank God it was from the ROTTEN FRUIT Not rotten meat.
Hotel gave us Gatorade and Giner ale.
This facility has no medical staffs.

They just ruined our 1st day of 1st Hawaii trip.
Aulani is a solid hotel with a light Disney theme covering a tired look. The pools and water splash area are great and pleasant to get to, through the greenery walk. The beach area is small but clean and calm to hangout for children or adults. The staff is professional. I think the restaurant there is called Ama Ama and it's delicious. The other food option are bar food or not worth the cost. I would value the stay there at $250-$300 Max. Ofcourse it's 3 times more than that. I spent an overall $1k per night there not including airfare for 2 adults 2 toddlers.
They offer kids activity there and it's great from what I saw.
I just didn't get a memorable experience. It was just another hotel.
Would I go back? Yes
would I be missing out if I don't go there? No
If you want to stay here save your money or make a loan or make sure you have money cause this place will empty your pockets.....!!!
8 years. coming to Aulani. Always a great time, helpful staff, plenty of life guards. Great stuff for kids to do water slides, a lazy river, and of course this bay.
Also the fundetails, characters, and menehune. Try to spot Mickey all over too.
1 bdrm standard view villa overlooked parking lot...yuck. overall facilities were good. Makahiki buffet was better before. Disney character show at Makahiki was better before. Love the luau. Parking rate was outragious. I was charged for 2 days of parking, assumedly because i was there for more than 24 hours. No one at Makahiki offered parking validation, though i now understand that would have reduced my parking cost. Love the free electric car charging.
It's a good family resort. It's away from Honolulu and can get little bored after 2-3 days. But if you want to relax, this is the place for you.

If you love Disney, then this is a good stop! Drinks and food are outrageously expensive, but really good. If you don't want to be around children, don't go here. Otherwise, a very fun place to hangout for a few hours! Free parking if you spend over $50 at the resort.
I only went to take a tour around the hotel, but had fun. Lots to see.

Nice beach. Lovely rooms. Pricey. They have a great play area for the kids that is separate from the beach area. They have a lot of chairs for laying out and equipment for rent.
We Are DVC members, so far this is an amazing trip! As we expected resort & Disney prices, if you can cook I suggest UBER $12 to Safeway and buy food . If not across the street had food food . The stay, quiet room,I do NOT hear my neghbor, very clean. Flat screen TV w Blu-ray player & extra hook ups . Pools are Nice, love the idea of the lazy river but w kids swimming down it and bunch of un used tubes you can get caught up. Adult pools nice and quiet as expected. Another pool negative is the chairs , very hard to find chairs , Overall stay was excellent & everyone was friendly !
Family stopped in to get a t shirt, seemed to be nice.
So many things to do, you never have to leave the resort.we loved this place!

So amazing! We went for the character breakfast and a few of us have a dairy allergy. They walked us through the buffet and made to order food as well. They know how to keep the kids entertained. The cast members were smiling, helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and clean. We can't wait to visit again.
Aulani seems to cut amenities. 1st stay in 2012 DVC members had full free access to laundry facilities. Now they give 12 complimentary tokens. Each Token is = $1 and the machines require 4 each. Wifi in the room was not adequate, regularly dropped connection.
The Lu'au was wonderful. The entertainment offered at Aulani was desirable. I was not happy with the buffet food it left alot to be desired. Would visit again and eat exclusively at Ama Ama.

i liked the virgin drinks and had a very enjoyable trip here also there is a small cay off to the right you can ask about. watch out for the occasional shark of jelly fish though they put a buoy out.
Aulani is an amazing place. We always feel at home and the staff make us feel like this is our home. We became Disney vacation club members specifically for this location. Everytime we come here it is an absolute escape from reality, my entire family agrees that coming here makes us feel as though we are royalty it celebrities and everyone is there to make is happy. An absolute dream Everytime we come, which is about three times a year.

Aulani has surpassed my expectations. I was expecting it to be very Disney but it is a Hawaiian Resort with a touch of Disney. It has many different options for things to do from different pools to the beach to workout classes. Of course they have the Disney things like characters and merchandise. Their gym is very large with top of the line machines. Definitely worth the stay.
If you've stayed at a Premier Disney hotel and liked it, then this is right up your alley. It's in a "secluded" part of the island where the beach isn't too crowded. There isn't a lot around, so stop at Target on the way in and save a few bucks. It's expensive once you're there... but you're a captive audience.

Loved it! Best family getaway i've ever experienced. The place was jampacked with tourists and locals. I love the water playground, pool river and underwater adventure, i felt like a kid again. We got a family room complete with amenities such as kitchen and laundry. Its such a wonderful experience!
Pretty amazing Lagoon located near the Disney Resort. All beaches are public in Hawaii so if you can find parking I d recommend checking it out.
This is our third time back. It has something fpr all ages. There is a large lagoon that is ocean fed. You can rent snorkeling equipment that is adequate for what you'll use it for... there are also sand toys you can check-out. The main attraction is the lazy river and the water slides. I believe there are two large pools and a couple of large spas along with an adult pool and spa. There is entertainment thru out the day in the form of character interaction and later there is storytelling around a large fire pit. Be sure to get the daily schedule so you can see the special activities available to you. The buffet was excellent and we are a family of foodies. We went there as a family vacation and had 3 rooms my adult children were amazed had how nice the rooms were (One bedroom and two bedroom villas) we were able to cook many meals. We stopped by Costco and the super target and bought food (don't buy to much) and bell services packed it from the car and took it to the rooms. This is a glimpse not a review.
Great staff, a wonderful variety of dining options. I live in the area (never stayed as a guest) and enjoy the little bit of Disney magic in paradise.

Disney in paradise. As with most things disney does its a cleab airy and spacious resort with a fantastic personal piece of ocean as well as water slides lazy rivers and beautiful hotub. And although it is disney down to the details its not overboard more like a very upscale island feel with a disney sprinkle coating.
Disney characters are fun Well there is a swimming pool and sea view but was hard. Especially to snorkel with the fish feeding on the Rainbow reef is a child haeteum very good. However, the water is so cold that children should not go. Overall, Asian resort is also available as a descriptive phrase in English and Japanese Many are Japanese. Comfortable to stay all day long

Excellent place to relax and let the kids wear themselves out. Its a perfect relaxation spot very good gym. Would give it 5 stars if only the internet was good. Last time I was hear I was told they will fix it soon but until now it's the same response.
A year later internet is still like the 1990's and they never have a fix. They always have an excuse and the way will never fix it.
The bell service unfortunately this year was the worse that I have ever experienced. My uncle had a package he was waiting for misplaced by the bell services and no one could locate it. Once we got on the plane the next day they found it. I on the other hand was taken on a ride by the bell services for messing up a pick up order that I had arranged and they were feeding me wrong information. I called DHL complaining that they did not pick up my package and it turned out the Aulani bell services are too lazy to even provide me with the right information. The package was picked up and the bell services can't tell me that it was instead they said DHL rejected the package.
Good luck to anyone who expects professional service.
Went just for the gift shop. It can get pretty crowded (everyone loves Disney stuff!), but there's a lot to keep people happy. Bonus for pin collectors: There's a fair amount of Aulani-branded stuff here.
Great place overall: Imagineering features / menehune hunt, pools and hot tubs, lazy river, lagoons, restaurants, common-space decor, upkeep and cleaning, location. Room for improvement: no more mini soap/gel/conditioner bottles, encourage guests harder to reuse/recycle/compost, no more mini creamers and phony sweetener packets and such at Ulu Cafe, better quality on hot plates at Ulu, front desk staff misinformed us twice about pool hours and bell desk, bell desk was WAY too slow / backed up, MUCH better Polynesian decor in rooms: should be far more jovial and Disney and Moana-ish. All in all, a great stay if looking for Honolulu outskirts.

Restaurant's are all great and there's tons of activities for everyone to be entertained by. And there's plenty of places to find tranquility and relaxation as well. My wife and I can't wait to come back!
OMG... All I can say OMG!! We spent New Years Eve here and now I wish I had more time. I don't have children but I think all children should enjoy this beautiful, fun and magical place at least once. I wish I could give them 6 stars. Love Love Love!!
