The best beach resort for kids. It is very pricey. $700 a night is no joke. But what you get is not just a bed and a shower. You get the water park and beach access. It is very kid friendly. The character breakfadt is a must if you have little one. Mickey Minnie Goofy will go to every table to greet you, take pictures and even play rock paper scissors. The lazy river is my favorite. It is very long and with lots of caves, waterfalls, even volvano steam. They have Alamo on site, but parking is $37 a day! Ridiculous. But there is plenty to do with nearby restaurants. Walking distance to ABC store.

You can enjoy it without getting out of the hotel.
The food and the restaurant take-out can come out everywhere, and the pool and the beach are fulfilling.
Because there is supermarket near, it is very convenient.
There are many Japanese people, but there are many overseas people, and foreign people are very friendly, so you can get along well.
I know the caragri in advance, so if you go 10 minutes ago, it's usually No.1. If you ask the staff for a camera, you can take pictures when you hug or talk, and you can take lots of different moments. However, unlike Japan, the number is large, but poses and eyes are just like you (laughs)
There are many people who can speak Japanese, but I felt less. If you can not speak English, it may be hard for you.
However, it was 3 days, but all characters can be met, breakfast can be enjoyed very deliciously, unlike Japan, rough feeling is also very enjoyable, and unlike the lively feeling of Waikiki, it will be a leisurely experience!

Great activities and facilities for kids, but given the unhealthy food, crowds, limited space access, and expensive rooms ...for the same price I am staying next door at the Four Seasons next time. If you find yourself already at the hotel pop nextdoor to escape.

Impressed. Excellent cast members, an obscenely pristine swimming area (watch for turtles!), and please tip your room attendant! It is expensive and meals can seem a bit too much, but keep in mind that if you have wheels, you can eliminate that...and you came to see Oahu, right? I'd come again. Very comforting, and the aloha spirit is definitely there.

The welcoming spirit of Aulani is amazing. In restaurants, at pools, even the housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful.

The focus is on families; be prepared to be surrounded by lots of busy kids and kid focused activities. If you are a kid at heart, and Disney themed events touch your heart, you'll love Aulani. If you're seeking a quiet escape, Aulani is not a good choice.

The are many activity pools - mostly kid focused. The Lazy River is fun for all ages, as are the two water slides. There are a couple of adult pools, if you need a quick escape. The ocean beach is inside a man made lagoon. It is easy swimming for all ages.

The food is mostly good - the more upscale restaurants, such as Ama Ama, are quite good, although spendy. Some of the grab and go food is satisfactory. Don't bother with the Ulu pizza - although their flat bread aren't bad.

Across the road you'll find outside dining and shopping options. While they are somewhat cheaper, prices are still steeper than the main land.

I suggest you budget for excursions. The Aulani is remote - treat it almost like a cruise ship. There are trips to various parts of the island, such as Pearl Harbor, each day. Get your reservations in advance and be careful of transportation requirements, particularly if you don't rent a car.

Flat rate "Charley's Taxi" is one of the most reasonable methods for getting to the hotel from the airport.

Look around the resort carefully and you might spot a mongoose or feral cat.

The photo was taken at the ocean beach during sunset in January.

Aloha!

I was sick resting in my room, and stayed in the kitchen area while the house cleaner was changing the sheets in the bedroom.
My cell phone was missing, I noticed after a couple of hours when I needed to call a friend (I was in my room all the time). I was in assumption that the cleaner mistakenly wrapped my cell phone which I left on the bed, in the sheets to be sent for washing',but next day when she came for cleaning again she expressed "'she always shakes the sheets before wrapping". I talked to third party cleaning reps and she said will take 48 hours to be informed about any findings. Make the story short , came back to my home in California logged in my gmail account in my computer and typed find my phone. My cell phone is in a house at 91-1117 Kaunolu street in Ewa Beach Hawaii.

The amenities (or lack thereof) of this resort are not at all worth the price. It's Disney, so it's going to be expensive of course, but this place really misses out big time on the magic, so I'm not sure why you would want to stay here more than once. Food is extremely overpriced, parking is $37 PER DAY, snorkel rentals are $20/day, the rainbow reef which they advertise extensively is $40 and the list goes on. All that on top of paying thousands of dollars for a room. But you can watch them feed the fish for free! Woo hoo! The pools are nice but as far as Disney resorts go, this one is quite small so the novelty runs out fast. Will not be staying here again.

Beautiful property and the always excellent Disney cast makes your stay the best it can be. Some rooms are getting a little threadbare and could use a refresh. The layout of our one bedroom villa was terrific and we'll stocked for meals; even has a rice cooker. Aloha

Its pretty expensive but I went anyway since its Disney and assumed if any company knows how to make an experience worth the price, it would be Disney. While the hotel and water park were amazing and good food at the shops and restaurants im giving a 3 star rating. This is because my room was never made up even though I was almost never there. They took out the trash daily but that was it. No refill on the coffee/tea, no cleaning, no beds made etc. This may have been due to Covid which i get, but on one occasion I called and asked for 2 spoons so my kids could eat some food we got from the store there. The first time we called the lady was all attitude, 30 minutes later still with no spoon, I called again and they replied with "yeah yeah, its coming." At that point I just hung up and went and bought some silverware. I'm sure this was just one person and not reflective of the entire establishment, but at the prices you pay for staying there and it being a Disney resort I was taken back by it.

Great facilities, nice rooms, and wonderful staff. It's a shame it's not a bit more "Disney". It would be great for the pool areas to be better organised so there was a place to store your belongings, and the concrete surfaces all become too slippery when wet. Overall we had an awesome stay.

This is our home resort, we love it! Beautiful villas, very friendly staff, nice beach and lots of pools including adult pools. There is a lazy river and a really good waterslide. The spa is fabulous, And be sure to check out the character breakfast as well as the luau. They also offer wonderful fitness classes daily don't miss the Sunrise Yoga and ocean fitness which you take on a paddleboard in the water.

We went for the Mickey breakfast buffet. The food was great and the environment was great! Not Aulani's fault but our only complaint was that we were sitting outside and it was very hot with no breeze.

Nice modern hotel, kids loved it, but they're none the wiser given the hotel is overpriced. Felt like the Disney theme wasn't strong enough and certainly a lack of characters throughout the complex... Most restaurants were over priced so we ate outside most nights. The buffet breakfast was also average, and not worth the money for adults, but you are forced to pay the price for the kids to enjoy a few moments with their favourite Disney characters... The pools were great though, which is where we spent most of our time.

Aulani is amazing, from the moment you walk in and the people/local work force are so sincere and genuine in their hospitality it makes you not want to leave. Honestly finding a negative about the trip would be impossible. Truly thought More

Kids will definitely enjoy! However, the Marriott Ko O'lina is 4min walk away and will be less expensive (in some areas). The Aulani is good for 2 or 3 night stay but if your looking to spend time reconnecting, without distraction from "characters", the Marriott is better suited.

Good: Good swimming pool facilities, close to the beach, weak waves, suitable for swimming, staff friendly, barbecue facilities small but good
Bad: No water in the bathroom, no breakfast buffet, but nothing to eat

Stayed here overnight with the kids. It was awesome. So many thinks to do, especially for the kids. The pool, the beach, the character breakfast, the scavenger hunt, aunties house. Highly recommended if you have younger kids.

Impeccable understated Disney. Probably the most modern hotel in oahu. Expensive! But worth it if you can afford it. Clean. Maintained to excruciating detail. Loved every minute. And the staff? Beyond friendly and accommodating.

I originally gave the restaurant 5 stars after our 1st visit, but I went there a second time with the family on New Years Eve and it was a horrible experience. The buffet was over run and extremely dirty. The crab legs were really dry. Service was awful. My beer ran dry and I never got a refill. Some one brought their comfort dogs into the buffet line where they were eating food off the floor. One dog urinated at the buffet and no one cleaned it up. We actually walked out at this point due to being so grossed out.

I ve been to probably nearly 20 resorts around the world, and honestly this one just had to have been the worst one I ve been to. First of let me just say that this resort is a part of Disney hotels and resorts. Obviously it will be a bit more kid oriented and have Disney themes to it, which is understandable, but this resort took it a bit seriously and I have been to other resorts that have had characters from kids show and done a better job of fitting it adults staying there. Let me just start of by saying that the only buffet breakfast at the entire hotel has character breakfast at it every day which is certainly not what adults would want. The only two breakfast places are either a grab and go place with such low-quality food or a super overpriced restaurant. There is an artificial lagoon in the resort called Rainbow reef, which is fun, except that you can t dunk your head underwater at the least and can only swim at the ledge. This resort also has water slides and a lazy river which are fun, but the lineups for the slides are crazy long and here s why: every other resort with slides that I have been to has a system where as soon as the person who goes reaches the bottom one lifeguard signals another through a walkie talkie. This one had it so that there were lights that would shine green and they would do this when a motion sender detects no movement within 10 meters of the slide. This was annoying because people standing beside the slide would make it not go green creating slow lineups. What I hated the most about it was the layout. The resort had two 15 storey buildings and only .3 kilometres of area for everyone to sit. The place was so overcrowded. Me and my family arrived at 1 in the afternoon and could not find and chairs to leave our stuff. You basically need to get up at 6:30 to get good seats. Overall this was the worst resort I have every stayed at and would only recommend it to families with young children.

With both the Disney and Hawaiian flare this place is awesome! The staff must get tired being so friendly all the time. My kids feel safe as they have lifeguards and staff everywhere. We have stayed a few times and each time it seems guests get less and less. Activities like the luau used to be FREE for guests and they even took away the teen lounge.

I only had a short visit to take some pictures with my family and go to the gift shop. The whole resort is beautiful and I wish my family could stay there one day. There are many gifts in the gift shop that I would love to purchase. All of the employees are very kind and welcoming as well.

We are Disney Vacation Members and this was our first trip with our teenagers here. All loved it. We had a 2 bedroom villa with kitchen & living room, 2.5 bathrooms. The service, cast members were all great. The pools were so much fun. The beach cove was perfect! we walked the area as well. The buffet dinner was very expensive. the quick food snack area were great.

Absolutely the best resort there is! From the staff to the accommodations, this place is amazing! We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation. The pools and the villa exceeded our expectations! We cannot wait to go back!

Had a Beautiful room with a view. Amazing and relaxing, live music from the balcony. Enjoyed having breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, pluto and goofy and dancing with Aunty honi. All Employees there were amazing, mahalo! Loved the shops. Wish we could live there forever. Mahalo Aulani for making our vacation a memorable one. Can't wait to do it again.

This is Disney dialed-back, but with the welcoming and service-oriented staff we find at other Disney properties. All is as one might expect, although at times some of the pool areas close unexpectedly early (sure, it's posted... But 6pm?). Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the overall decor is very nice. I could almost forget there's a mouse somewhere on the property. Almost.
