One of our best vacations. As usual Disney has done a phenomenal job of marrying local culture with Disney perfection. Rainbow reef , lazy river were big hits for kids. Aunties beach house is a life saver for parents. Kids love it and parents can chill. Private beach gives you views you crave for. Simply the best. They also have alamo rental service on property simply walk down and get a car for a day or more .

We went before COVID-19/quarantine. It was amazing and I can t wait to go back again! Across the street there is a cute cafe, great restaurants, and a market where you can get snacks and drinks (they sell alcohol too) for cheaper than on the resort. Market was kinda like a grocery store and souvenir shop(?)... wish we had known about that place sooner lol
A dream come true for Disney fans and people crazy about Hawaii! Such attention to the details, and respect for the Hawaiian culture! Rooms and villa suites are stunning, and so beautifully appointed! Perfect resort, as long as you don't want to go into Waikiki.
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, is a beachside resort hotel at the Ko Olina Resort in Kapolei, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Affiliated with the Disney Vacation Club, Aulani was the third Disney "stand-alone" hotel that is located in an area without any adjacent theme park. The others are Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort. The word Aulani in Hawaiian can be loosely translated as "the place that speaks for the great ones" or "with deep messages". When the word is used as a name, it can mean "message from the chief". The 21 acre Aulani opened to guests on August 29, 2011 with 359 hotel rooms and 460 time-share villas. A November 2018 report stated that at that time, there were 351 rooms (in two 15-story towers), including 16 suites and 481 villas, most being "2-bedroom-equivalent". An October 2018 review specified that there were three restaurants with seating (Makahiki, Ulu Cafe and 'AMA'AMA, ) and some smaller outlets serving snacks such as the Off the Hook poolside lounge. Announced in October 2007, Disney unveiled the resort's name in January 2010. The project was estimated to cost $800 million and eventually generate about 1,000 jobs at the resort. The project was managed by Disney Vice-President Djuan Rivers and designed by Joe Rohde of Walt Disney Imagineering. The resort began timeshare sales on July 15, 2010, and began taking room reservations in August 2010. On August 12, 2011, Disney suspended Aulani timeshare sales indefinitely and fired three executives, including Disney Vacation Club president Jim Lewis, after senior management realized the annual dues had been set too low to cover maintenance costs. Timeshare sales were subsequently re-started although an October 2018 review was unable to exactly determine the total number of sales since 2010 due to gaps in published information. In March 2019, the resort was named "Best Hotels/Accommodations Luxury Accommodations" in the 2019 aio Media Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Awards.
A place where you can find quite a bit of Disney Magic on Hawaii. The food and drinks are amazing, but expensive. The atmosphere is breathtaking. The staff are very friendly. One of the best areas for sunset watching.
So amazing! We went for the character breakfast and a few of us have a dairy allergy. They walked us through the buffet and made to order food as well. They know how to keep the kids entertained. The cast members were smiling, helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and clean. We can't wait to visit again.
Very disappointed. Area and garden was very nice. Pool and beach was clean and beautiful. But there were about 7 times the number of people that would fit to the resort. It was like grand central station at rushhour. You have to wait in line like in a adventure park, but disney seems to have forgotten that you pay 800 dollar per night for a hotel. You wait in line a the front desk, at the pool for towels, snackbar for chicken nuggets, for a sprite .... and you have consider what you can get. This from 1100-1600 this from 1200-1600 this from 1000-1400 and pizza after 5pm. You feel more like cattle rather than a guest. And 37 dollar a night for self parking? That was very disappointing.
Aulani is a great upscale Resort with many water activities, including tube rafting on the Lazy river, swimming in a cove in the Pacific and separate adult and family pools. The food choices are varied, but all casual. Would visit again.
I love the Disney service. I've been for 2 days, and it still seems like the best place to travel in Hawaii. I don't want to go out to see anything except Pearl Harbor! :)
Compared to Korea Water Park, The cost of lodging is expensive. The Disney character comes to the pool at 1 pm and takes a picture. It is possible to take a picture after checking whether it is a hotel guest. Mickey, mini, moana, goofy, two squirrels. Auntty's house is run like a playroom and you can leave your kids and enjoy your own time. The sea has a breakwater and the waves are calm. I am writing with the neighboring hotel, so I think anyone who is not a guest can go. The sunset is good. Not available in hotel dining room. Pool is not available when using restaurant only. When you book breakfast at a particular restaurant, Disney characters go around and take pictures. Mickey, Mini, Goofy, Donald Duck. It seems to be good for a family trip with a child who is not a honeymoon destination.
We are Disney Vacation Members and this was our first trip with our teenagers here. All loved it. We had a 2 bedroom villa with kitchen & living room, 2.5 bathrooms. The service, cast members were all great. The pools were so much fun. The beach cove was perfect! we walked the area as well. The buffet dinner was very expensive. the quick food snack area were great.
The best combination of the culture of Aloha and the Disney spirit. Beautiful rooms, plenty of pools, beaches and activities for all the family right in paradise. Only 40 minutes away from the airport and downtown Honolulu, it rests in peaceful Ko Olina. Two minute walk from restaurants, a little ABC store and many other retail options. The hotel is perfect and if not they ll make it
Make sure your kids are at least three years old and potty trained before coming here. This ability unlocks the awesome bonus of Auntie's Beach House, which is a win-win for you and your kids. While the little trouble makers are having fun there, you can walk next door to the Four Seasons for the superior food and drinks.
That is my 2nd time came here as for 7 days and I love it so much! No where else is better than this hotel. It's a must to visit and use this hotel. The pool and spa with view of beach is amazing no where better than this.. it look like a dream place but in reality I am here seeing these! I wish I can give more than 5 stars for this!
Second time visiting and I hate leaving every time. Beautiful rooms, wonderful activities for the family, and exceptional service that disney is known for. Visit as soon as able! You will not regret it.
We came here for our honeymoon. Amazing customer service and loved seeing our favorite Disney characters!! They were doing construction so you can see it from our room and hear it. To make up for it they gave guests $50 credit a day for it. My two complaints is the food was bad and overpriced only the character breakfast food was good. My second nitpick is the housekeeping kept waking us up and one tried to still come in our room even with room occupied sign on our door while we were trying to sleep. The staff told us a manager would call us and they never did. I never had any resort or hotel have the housekeeping come so early and try to come into our room. All in all with some nitpicking we had a good time!
I still miss my stay here! They were exceptionally accomodating, even when it was crowded at check in. I made some incorrect reservations for their resturants and they were nice to rebook for us to as close as possible to the time we wanted.
We came on a super early flight and they had it so we could at least change so we could swim on property until our room was ready.
I also love their luau! Was fun and very family friendly.
A great place for a family vacation. Our kids are ready to move in. Take advantage of the restaurants and grocery store across the street to cut down the cost of eating at the resort. The food at the resort is good but can a little pricey.
Very expensive, super busy, but could not be a better setup for young children. The lazy River and water slides are a huge hit, and they even have built-in daycare and children's activities at Aunty's beach house. Food is overpriced and very mediocre at the Ulu Cafe.
It is recommended when you have a few nights in Waikiki, a few nights in Aulani and a travel itinerary, or for families with small children.
Rent a car on the freeway from Honolulu for one hour. Because there is an outlet on the way (Waikere), there is also a detour. Honolulu (30 minutes-40 minutes) Waikele (30 minutes-40 minutes) Aulani
I left Aulani before 16:00, but the car heading for Aulani was in heavy traffic. Those who go are recommended early time. This is a wonderful hotel that can be enjoyed by non-staying guests. By the way, there are Japanese people, but not as many as Waikiki.
Food was awesome. Cast members were very awesome to us as well. That's about it. For a hotel, they are really strict about the general public, even if you paid over $200+ for 4 adults, and a child to eat breakfast. (Not including the $60+ we paid for a single printed photo with Mickey, and $60 more for a copy). If I paid that much for a meal, and pictures, I would expect us to be considered paid guest, and not have hotel staff restrict water activities, or photo ops with other cast members. Basically, if you didn't pay $800+ for a single night stay there, your not welcomed anywhere but the gift shop.
Great for families with kids or those who love Disney. It is pricey (more than 4 Seasons next door). But very clean water park. Great activities and child care included in your stay. Food is ok. It's little better than amusement park quality, unless you want to spend more on formal dining. Overall, good experience especially for kids.
My family and I went to the Disney Aulani Resort about 2 years ago and we didn't want to leave. We stayed for 9 days and met so many great people. Everyone in Hawaii is just...HAPPY! No one is sad in any way. The service was amazing and I can't wait to go back to Disney Aulani this summer with my family! I highly recommend taking some time off of work and heading to DIsney Aulani as soon as you get the chance!
I visited the Disney Resort Gift shop. I did not purchase any items as I felt everything was a bit over priced. I enjoyed the man made beach and lagoons. Great place to relax and listen to the ocean.
Most memorable experience I've had and the resort is beautiful with friendly and helpful customer service from the employees. Also there is hidden features throughout the whole resort which I thought was neat. 10/10 shout out to disnyland and there attention to detail. Pineapple water for everone!
Well I didn t get to stay at the nice place because the representative to book the reservation over the phone was so rude. I was looking for dates into April but she kept saying it s the same thing online. If I wanted to book online, I would have booked online. I guess she wasn t prepared to work today. Pathetic. I will be going elsewhere. No need for the rude and terrible customer service.
Great customer service. Food was good some of it overpriced. Per Disney s usual I love that they take pictures professionally, but they will also take pictures with your phone. Great place for kids. They have many different types of pools and a well protected beach. Very minimal waves which makes it ideal for kiddos.
It's a Hawaiian resort with a little Disney sprinkled in. Lots of pools and an amazing soft sand beach with tiny waves so kids can play. Rent boogie boards and sand toys free. Food is ok for kids, wish there were more options. No pasta? only through room service. Hotel was busy but it didn't feel crowded. Great helpful staff, great property. Tons of activities going on for the kids. Kids club, scavenger hunts, etc.
Their internet service is virtually non existent and they have no computers in the lobby. For todays day and age and for what they charge they should have better internet service. We even tried at 3 in the morning - nothing.
This place truly is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Normally I would complain about prices, but it's a Disney resort, so you know what you are getting yourself into. There is so much to do here and the food options are tasty as well. If not for the price, I would be going back again really soon!
The hotel room is beautiful and would book another vacation here. The character breakfast needs an upgrade, only 3 characters are available at this time. Not many opportunities to take pictures with Moana who is most likely the face of Aulani now. Pools are awesome and beach access is so close! Great place for families, newly weds and unmarried couples.
Even if it is recommended to those who want to enjoy it on Yumenoshima, since the repair work of the pool begins in August 2019 from this year, people who want to play in the pool are careful. Let's enjoy at private beach
The resort is beautiful. I'm on my honeymoon and I wish we could have stayed there. Glad that we could still park and walk around and visit the gift shop. Next time I'm in Oahu will definitely stay there.
This is a perfect place to bring your family. Plenty of things for kids and adults to do on the resort. Access to all the pools and a small beach area. Staff are very friendly.
Staying here had been amazing. With all the cast members being so friendly, I feel like home here. The pools, lazy river, and slides are fun. And the food is very yummy
