Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center Review

We are so glad we went with the Marriott for our wedding venue. They went above and beyond our expectations to give us a dream wedding! Jamie was a pleasure to work with during the wedding planning process and there on the day of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly. The food was amazing and we enjoyed working with the chef who had a lot of great suggestions for us! The bartender was friendly and all of our guests loved her! The staff was extremely friendly and did an amazing job decorating and even added touches to make it beautiful! During our cocktail hour, they moved our ceremony arch and candles to the ballroom to create an even better ambiance. Jamie is an expert when it comes to decorating and made sure our ceremony room and ballroom looked fantastical. Every minute of the day was exciting thanks to Jamie and the staff at the Marriott!

Beautiful hotel, classy yet unpretentious, great restaurant!

We were there for a great marriage conference and ate at augustinos but we did not stay at Marriott. Nothing against them but I'm not paying 200 a night when I live down the street.

So quaint great decor, clean and an amazing roof top patio great view of downtown Augusta. Historic charm but completely updated amenities. So nice and cozy in the middle of a neighborhood. Valet parking Great staff with southern charm. This will be my place every time I am in Augusta.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, very competitive prices

Conveniently located next to the Savannah River and Riverwalk. Clean. Cordial staff. Located near museums and restaurants. Not a crazily expensive area.

We stayed in the suites tower. Spacious room, restaurant was very good!

Doing Passover with church. Great time and parking was close.

If you love James Brown check this place and surrounding areas.

Smooth check-in process and very helpful staff. Military rate available, at least for the room I stayed in. Modern accommodation with Starbucks and restaurant on site. Starbucks only open 8 am to 11 am.

Beautiful suites! Very modern with sooo much room! Sitting area separate from sleeping area. Two televisions. Spa-like bathroom. Wonderful storage. And located directly on the River!

Staff was very friendly and polite, but the hotel was so old, most exhibitors had wrap themselves in blankets

Pillows are great. Nice looking properties. Rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and they have giant flat screen TVs in your room. Staff is nice. Check in was fast.

Hotel is older but well kept, it's a maze on the inside. They were booked, could not get overnight accommodations

Nice hotel, suites have microwave and refrigerator standard. Free guest laundry, just need to buy detergent. Unfortunately the blinds don't block all of the light coming into the guest rooms.

Not a fan of this town, but if I have to be here this is where I want to stay. Great staff, nice rooms, plenty of good restaurants and bars in walking distance.

Recent voted as Augusta's best hotel by the readers of the Augusta Chronicle. This is an always evolving hotel product usually found in much larger markets.

If you stay here, don't choose to stay in the suites, unless you have that preference for whatever reason. You have to walk through the conference space to get there from the front lobby. Also, when I checked into my room, the provided shampoo bottle was half empty, meaning that a previous guest had used half of it, put it back, and housekeeping just left it there. Pretty nasty, and I'm happy that I bring my own. The restaurant has a great wait staff, but it is over priced for the quality of food.

There were 2 beds which were comfortable though cramped for 2 adults and the bathroom is nice. For the price of a room, I would expect a complementary breakfast, but there wasn't one, and the restaurant inside is very expensive. Luckily, there are reasonably priced restaurants in walking distance from the hotel that serves very good food.

Great rooms and location. The conference center is beautiful. The only downside to this hotel is that it's almost impossible to navigate

The convention center was very nice. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. There wasn't a lot of free/street parking but that's pretty typical.

Pros: The staff is great, the rooms are clean, they all have great views and for an upcharge they are pet friendly. The nicest hotel in the area and conveniently located next to the Riverwalk.

Cons: The building is showing it's age. The bathrooms need work, the cold air smells musty, and the walls are paper thin. We had to listen to the person in the next room over hacking up a lung until midnight.

Well kept hotel, clean rooms, amble parking in the covered garage. Decent onsite resteraunt and bar. Lobby had a grand staircase that was a nice detail and made the place feel upscale.

This is hotel has some of the nicer rooms I've stayed in at a Marriott. Very modern and the room service is delicious.

Best place to stay downtown. Full service hotel. If u have an event they have the room. Plenty of options avail for your event also. Tower side remodeled and nice.

The beat part about this suite room was the shower!!! The pressure coming out of the shower heas was like getting pressure washed!!! Loved it!!!

Only visited for breakfast buffet but food and service were great!

Just in town for a brief conference but love what I saw and people were friendly.

They took great car of all 40 of us lineman when we were on out way to help with hurricane irma in florida

I think 3.5 is more accurate. Hotel is very nice and clean. The reduced stars are for the restaurant. It's hit and miss. Bartender in the afternoon was great and attentive. He (James) gets 5 starts, others? meh....
Should not have to ask multiple times for the items that are part of your breakfast. Early coffee at the bar was good too, service by a young woman we assumed was part of Management since she always seemed to be working.
Nice setting on the riverwalk, but not a lot going on here (pandemic we think).

Location great, rooms I'm not sure but sure they are great stopped in to ask a question/use the bathroom. The Marriott is clean inside is beautiful the bathrooms are nice and clean as well.

For a true Marriott property this one needs a lot of help. The front desk clerks were very new and not very helpful. My room was very dusty and didn't look like it had been thoroughly vacuumed in months. I dropped some change on the floor and it rolled under one of the cabinets, needless to say I left it after seeing the conditions under the cabinet (see photo below). I also got a laugh when I noticed a piece of paper between two of the cupboards. It was a notice about internet upgrades in June 2015 and here I was staying in March 2017. I'll probably look somewhere else the next time I'm in Augusta.

Just checked in, went up to our room and looked at the bed like I always do to make sure everything is cleaned, and noticed several hairs on the pillow which sent up alarm bells. I proceeded to pull the sheets back, and noticed more hairs and dirt, it was simply disgusting. Went down to the lobby to inform them, they changed my room, and the guy who helped me went and checked the new room with me to make sure it was clean, luckily it was. For me, this is an eye opener, I have stayed at some pretty sketchy places before, and even those had clean sheets. I really hope the manager actually speaks to the house cleaner who supposedly cleaned that room. Let s see how the rest of this night goes....

Warm& welcoming atmosphere, next to the river for a nice walk. Staff are helpful. You can reserve a free shuttle to/ from airport. Has small indoor pool& a hot whirlpool & a seasoned outdoor pool

Beautiful Thanksgiving buffet, all kinds of sides, cold and hot, beef tenderloin, turkey and all the fixings, and a nice selection of cold seafood like oysters and prawns. Unique looking seafood boat filled to the brim. Lily was our server and she was very pleasant and quick. Our dishes were picked up promptly when finished and she was very attentive to our table. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons. When the buffet line was busy, it blocked others people trying to get back to their seats with full plates of food and the walkway became totally blocked. The unfortunate people seated in that area were constantly being bombarded with people standing around their tables. Also, although the buffets were well filled, they didn't have beautiful displays like a lot of high end buffets do. No ice carvings, no high end displays of cheese, salads or desserts that showcase the beauty of the food. Some of the desserts although tasty, were too large after stuffing yourself with the other great items. But definitely a return visit.

I love this hotel, and the restaurant inside is awesome
