Great place for photography equipment rentals. Too good to be true, they are open 7 days a week!

By far one of the most professional rental houses in NYC.

This is 100% the only place I will ever rent from! The staff is incredibly helpful, knowledgable, and patient, even if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. They offer tutorials for the equipment and make sure you know exactly what you need without the slightest tone of condescension. I've never found this personable tone in any other rental place. One of the staff remembered the project I was working on from months before and asked how it was unfolding.. such lovely people!

I had difficulty with a particular camera that I couldn't figure out to use properly during the shoot, and the owner met with me personally to negotiate a discount. If that's not enough they have fresh baked cookies in the lobby and they're open Saturdays!! A++

I've worked in production for awhile and we all know there are the rental places we LOVE to work with, and those we... um... don't. Well Hello World has always been one of my favorites but they went above and beyond during my shoot over the weekend. Long story short is that we had rented a slider that was giving us some problems- at 8am Sunday morning. I called the "Urgent Care" number from their main number. When I described what was going on to the voice on the other end- Ron Yoshida- (the boss!)- I was greeted with complete "We'll take care of it." Within an hour we had a new slider, a new (much, much lower) price and the indelible impression that Hello World is a class act operation that is there to help with your production, as opposed to take advantage. Do yourself a favor and rent from Hello World. You will be very, very happy you did.

Ron and the team at Hello World are unmatched! They work their hardest to source gear, give fair pricing, and accommodate the sometimes ridiculous conditions surrounding some shoots. I feel really taken care of whenever I work with HWC, and that means the world to me.

Amazing service, knowledgable staff, and well-maintained equipment, Hello World is a fantastic rental house that treats each customer with respect and every production with professionalism. Every time I rent from HWC, they are always interested what I'm working on and genuinely care. These guys go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and really are there for you when you're in a pickle. Biggest plus, they're open on Sundays. I can't tell you how many times I needed something last minute and they were there with open arms. Equipment is top of the line and if you have a suggestion, they're open ears. Instead of feeling like a number, you feel like you're part of the team. Couldn't say enough good things about them.

I highly recommend Hello World Communications for production equipment needed for any project! The staff is friendly and very helpful with regards to troubleshooting and consultation about your specific needs. The facility has a great atmosphere for renting gear and learning about new technology that could apply to you as well.

This place is amazing for rentals for any media professionals. I'm sad to just find out about it now. Very friendly and way less complications in rentals compared to other rental houses. They also have all kind of gear from VR to audio equipment which makes it so much easier being in the same place. Plus I can't get enough of the goodies on the front desk.

We LOVE these guys. Yes, their product inventory is great an don par with, but their customer service is outstanding, off the charts, and very intuitive. It means the world when a rental vendor is intuitive enough to both care and ask you great questions about your project and often offer insight to what your trying to accomplish. Such customer service never shows up on their invoice, but it is worth its weight in gold. (And who can forget those jelly beans or cookies they surprise you with!!)

It's hard to find the words to express how much I like and appreciate Hello World! First of all, they ALWAYS have what you're looking for. Secondly, they are FAST - like navy seals, Ron's team mobilizes into action in no time at all. Recently, I had a big shoot where I was given less than a few hours to organize and rent gear. The ordering process was extremely easy and swift. Within an hour, I pulled up outside on 22nd street (ample room to park your vehicle) and a crew of delightful, knowledgeable, fun and dedicated film commandos had come downstairs and were loading up my car. Thirdly, the equipment is up to date, clean and fully operational. When we were on set, we had an issue with the audio equipment, we immediately got on the phone with Hello World and they walked us through it calmly and efficiently. Within minutes, we were up and running. But truly the best thing about hello world is its owner, Ron. This man has a great sense of humor. He knows a lot and he is always willing to help and support ones production.
So, there you have it: two thumbs up for Hello World. In fact, let's make that 200 thumbs up. Or even 2000!

I bought iMac from him through ebay, he sold me the iMac with a hardware problem and it didn't work. I reported that to ebay and ebay said you have to return it to the seller. He started play games and refused to sent the label through ebay and he said he doesn't know how to do that even he has ebay since 2002.
Finlay after ebay refunded me the money he sent me the return label. after that he stared play another game by sending a photos for a damaged computer (The photos were for different model not the one I ordered and start asking for the money back and he called me on the phone even that is against ebay rules and gave me a bad review in google trying to effect my business.
This guy is not trusted person at all.

I am a DP based in Los Angeles. We have been bringing cameras to New York for projects for the past few years. My producer was hesitant to rent locally in fear of showing up at the check-out and finding substitutions and beat up gear.
I placed my order with Nick. He was very knowledgeable and able to make recommendations on gear they had that I hadn't used before.
When I arrived at their house my package was complete and I didn't have to wait for anything. The few adds I made were quickly accommodated. I was mostly impressed with the condition of the gear. It was practically new and everything worked flawlessly. I will happily return to Hello Work Communications for our future rentals.

Pros: Convenient online ordering, reasonable prices (especially for weekend rentals which are charged at a single day's rate), the team that runs the show and isn't afraid to work on a Jewish holiday, also great selection of cameras + equipment + audio + lighting, etc.
But mainly the people working here is the real value to their service that separates them from everyone else.
