I loved this park!! It's lovely! There are open fields, huge, beautiful Southern trees, a stage for live music, a trail filled with walkers/runners/bikers and a playground for kids. There are even ponds with ducks and other birds and it's just lovely. Plenty of shade. My family and I walked around for a few hours. Then we visited Loyola University campus because it's right next to the park and caught the Uptown Streetcar which runs right next to the park also. It was a really great day. And Audubon Park is completely free. I highly recommend it!

Very nice park to walk around and see nice trees. From downtown NOLA, that the trolley as they have those nice. It's a very nice drive and you will see a lot of beautiful Victorian houses. The trip can be done in 2 hours or more of you want to take your time in the park. At the end of the park, they have a zoo.

Excessively expensive entry ... but most of all the animals look so miserable, and some don't have the space to thrive. You quickly feel uncomfortable and sad for these poor animals, instead of having a good time. It finally convinced me to never go to a zoo again.

Overpriced entrance ... but especially the animals look so unhappy, and some do not have the space to bloom. We feel uncomfortable and sad for these poor animals, instead of having a good time. It ended up convincing me never to go to a zoo again.

Fantastic zoo with a wide variety of animals. We always enjoy a day at the zoo and Audubon is one of the best. Parking isn't too bad and there are plenty of ways to get there if you'd rather not drive.

Site of the 1883 New Orleans World's Fair. Retains a few buildings and features from that particular event. New Orleans was one of the first electrified cities and the city installed the streetcars then. I haven't been to the zoo for a very long time. I'm usually going to the Audubon Tea Room.

PS: You can combine in the Garden District Day and Audubon Park.

My favorite park ever. In any state too. I love the trail and the animals. There is a feeling of peace and calm. I do not understand how the bathrooms are so old and gross. Audubon Zoo has to make a fortune. The poor condition of the facilities isn't enough for me to rate it lower though. It is my happy place in the city.

I will admit, I am new to the New Orleans area and had little to no expectations for this zoo upon my visit. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality and atmosphere of the zoo. Granted, a zoo is a zoo no matter how you look at it, so the variety of non animal viewing activities are relatively similar across the nation. You have you plastic mold machines and your motorized zoo train. You have your water features and your regionally themed cafeterias serving up overpriced burgers and tepid frys. But let's be honest, you don't visit a zoo for the cuisine or the fountains, you go to see the animals and in this department, the Audubon Zoo is exceptional. Each exhibit, regionally themed, allows for great viewing of a wide variety of animals. Many exhibits are open air with only a shallow, sometimes frighteningly shallow, ditch between you and the stars of Planet Earth. Many zoos today feature exhibits with massive panels of glass that obscure the animal and detach the audience from the experance but such is not the case at Audubon. The animals, each in their magnificent glory, are right there in front of you. In all, the zoo is large enough to spend a nice afternoon or morning at but small enough to see everything and not just drift aimlessly by, disregarding a Capybara or two along the way. The up close viewing and the in zoo waterpark make the Audubon Zoo a great destination for kids and adults alike looking to spend a couple of hours observing natures wildest animals in pens.

What's not to love. The zoo is absolutely amazing and the renovations they are doing are world class. Love the animals and the cool zoo. Just a great experience for everyone young and old, local or out of towner.

I love the Audubon zoo. The monkey hill and the flamingos are my favorite areas. The zoo train actually shows you animals you can't see from just walking around and I felt was worth the few extra dollars. The zoo is quite large and during the hot humid summer's of New Orleans, come prepared with water and cool clothing. They also have a splash pad area, but last time I was there it cost extra and I didn't think it was worth it for the size and features available. But overall a great zoo

Audobon Park is yet another natural gem in New Orleans. Not as vast or varied than her sister City Park, Audobon Park exudes a more neighborly feel with a more compact size, though it never feels too small. Here you'll find a mix of mostly locals and some tourists, promenading along the park's signature trail. This is a great place to get a nice measure of New Orleans's nature, that of the tropical vegetation and the wildlife, particularly the birds that have made the park home. Ideal place for a break or picnic anytime of the day.
