The Zoo gets better every time I go. Kiwi house is amaze. Enjoyed the meerkats. Love the red pandas. Lovely day out with friends.

pretty outdated....can barely see any animals, lion enclosure is so small, altho they r doing a remodelling of the zoo, i dont expect it to be a wow factor. food inside is limited and dull.

Loved it.... great zoo with fantastic facilities.... well worth visiting. New development is under way... and it can only make the zoo better

Naturallu beautiful place ..you will find animals close to nature instead in cage

I thought it was better last time we visited. Didn't seem to be as many animals or birds. It's still a great zoo and I know there's a lot of building work going on. Maybe it was the time of day!

Its got it all..will be amazing when they finally finish all the paths and construction work..5 food centres to try

Not much species, but everything is made with love. No jails, but spacious fenced areas. You can see the kiwibirds in here :)

Great time with the grandchildren made easier with the use of a loaned mobility scooter provided free of charge by the Zoo. This afforded me the pleasure of viewing many more animals, reptiles and birds than it would have been possible for me to walk to. Many thanks for a great facility. Pat Hart

The indications for finding the animals are not clear. Today we could not find tiger and lion. There was only one kiwi in a very dark area, we could not see it clear.

Went to zoo on my daughter's 2nd bday. Gladly was a pleasant sunny day. Well the zoo is a standard zoo and decently priced tickets for 24$. They have different zones like Africa, Australia, South America. They are now building a new region South East Asia. There are few shows which we missed out on. For that you need to enter the zoo early. There are nice eating outlets in between. Only animals on missed out on was some snakes and also I couldn't find Lions. But the most my daughter enjoyed are various kind of birds, which are in plenty. My benchmark currently is Singapore Zoo and frankly this zoo falls short of this benchmark. Nevertheless its a fantastic place of kids and there are playzone as well for kids. Go enjoy !!

What an awesome morning exploring and seeing all the animals

Really nice place !!! Informative and interactive for all ages.takes around 3 hours or so if with kids.

When they have finished the new exhibits it will be great, andat the moment there's no hippos and no tigers. The elephant talk was interesting, the lions were sleeping so that was a bit boring too.

Awesome day with the family excellent friendly customer service from all staff members. Family Pictures are taken At the gate and you are gifted one photo made by random selection from the computer system inside the gift shop. You can buy the photo booklet for $38 which gives you printed photos and post cards also allows you download the digital images as many times as you like for 3 mnths time allow you to print more copies and use them as you please. They have amazingly delicious food. Burger and chips are Mouthwatering the chicken tenders are juicy and the flavour of the coating is crispy with a slight spice. The kids zone is a very popular Playground. The gift shop is spotless and has a variety of souvenirs from $5-$100 and the shopkeeper does a very good job to keep the store and items clean and tidy. Highly recommended place for all the family and wheelchair friendly

We had a great time at the zoo, and we're impressed with the amount of space the animals and birds had. Make sure you check out the Kiwi house.

Am Gary proud of our zoo. It is forever proving and is gurrrntly undergoing another large scale redevelopment which give an even better experience. We are also very lucky to have the volunteers there helping as many people as they can.

Went there some work not finishe but will visit again when's done

Was under construction while I was there which was dissapointing, although what they do have is interesting and fun to look at.

who was great news to hear about the new draft that was born on Saturday you must be all over the moon I am so please for you all as a draft someone my special animals along with the elephants that don't get me wrong I love all kinds creaturesand I cannot wait for the time when I can get over their and take some photos of them and see the rest of in your animals while take care and keep the good work up and God bless you all

Loved this trip. First trip since I was a child and loved it. Loved the magic memories photo capture on the way in.

Great zoo.... a lot of work going on can detract a bit from the peace and quiet of the zoo

Went on Mother s Day with my family and had such an awesome time! The zoo currently have renovations going on but that s no hindrance to the fun we had or to the animals we saw. They had a range of animals, put together by geological location e.g they had an Australian part of the zoo where there were wallabies, Tasmanian devil, Aussie lizards etc. and then they had the African part of the zoo (which is my favourite) with the giraffes, lions, meerkats etc. The staff are also really nice and interactive which is awesome. I ve come here a few times in my life and I ll definitely keep coming back.

It's not that big here, it's nice to see a giraffe. Wheelchairs are perfectly accessible.

The Auckland zoo has a great layout and some beautiful animals.Its a bit confusing to manoeuvre your way around but you will see everything eventually as it is a well connected system. If you're comfortable with proximity to birds the this is the place for you .(don't worry, the tigers, rhinos, cheetahs, lions and larger animals are kept well away from you and there's a sturdy fence and wall to protect you .The animals are well cared for and it is a "must see" trip.

Their enclosures are clean and not too cramped. There are also a variety of food places around the zoo which make for welcome stops. The day we went was very hot, even for the animals, maybe a more overcast day would be better. Sunscreen recommended, the zoo has a little, but not much, we went early and it was already running out, and a tube in the shop costs $11, so better to take your own. The bug display is well done, informative.

A really cool place to see animal life without going out of Auckland!

Great place to go. Thoroughly enjoyed it with my children. Great for families and the kids.

A great place to have a close encounter with wild animals.

Amazing Zoo. You can see the lion very close. The elephant show was awesome

The enclosures are always spacious and give the animals a taste of their original habitat. Both handlers and volunteers are always nice and helpful and eztremely well prepared. The kids love the fun activities that the setup on a regular basis.

Large zoo with several animals in the world. It is very worth knowing!

A great place..maybe if they started something like a Night Zoo, for people to view the nocturnal animals, it would be an added attraction.

Awesome zoo my son loves it. Great for a day out with the kids.

Lovely zoo, well laid out and massive, open enclosures for the animals. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I did the Galapagos tortoise experience and then walked around with Fiona who told us everything from the breeding programs and conservation efforts.
Wonderful, highly recommended!
P.s. top tip: go when it's overcast or drizzly weather. Hardly any people, and all the animals will be out and about enjoying the cool! Saw all the animals right up close.

Wonderful family environment with lots to do and see.

Might have bits being redeveloped but we had a wonderful time ad feel the enclosures are of high standard.

The place is under construction in many areas, I can't see the animals that I pay to see. I was very desapoited.

The Zoo is nice organized. U can see there almost everything. However, there are a lack of good restaurants.

This place is amazing. I came here a week ago and I loved it. The ice cream cone they sell are delicous, and they treat the animals really well! I personally loved the giant turtles they have, and the tiny ones.

It is simply fantastic. Superbly laid out, very accessible, and with great spaces for all the animals. New Zealand doesn't need another zoo - this is It!

My little one enjoyed this place. Lot for him to see. They weather played a little bit of hokey pokey but got to understand a bit of Nz wildlife beauty.

Amazing experience with upgrades ongoing. Great day to entertain your children with eateries and toilet facilities throughout.
