Nice zoo. But much was closed down when I was there due to construction. Waiting on the new areas to be built

Really enjoyed our day here, despite the renovation going on in 'Asia'. We found parking on the road no problem and we able to just walk straight up to the ticket kiosk with no queues.
We easily spent a day here taking a picnic with us. I love that they're encouraging reusing water bottles with water fountains accessible.
The lion talk was fantastic. The Kea talk was great also, and we saw a couple of Kiwi's too which was just great. A fantastic day!

Love the zoo. Awesome for a picnic or day out with the kids.

This is an awesome zoo for the whole family and lots of fun. Lots of animals to see, great enclosures and the cafes are great too.

I would not recommend visiting as a good portion of the zoo is currently under construction. The zoo was also supposed to close at 8pm but they started ushering people out at 7:40. We also purchased our photos but when we received digital copies they had watermarks on them. A lot of the animals were also not to be seen, the highlight was seeing the morepork owl.

Not so big but nice and clean. Easy to walk thru and interesting info at each stop.

Can always spend a whole day here at the zoo with the kids..

A lot of construction just at the moment but hopefully it will be worth it! Beautifully maintained in all areas

My son loved the zoo. It is a very good family activity...

Too bad the little penguins were hiding under a shade provided by a canoe when we were there. Did not see the Kiwis. Saw one instead at the Te Puia Geyser Tour.

Auckland zoo is beautifully structured, and we'll kept. The animals all look happy and healthy, plus the talks around the zoo are entertaining and informing.

Gorgeous Kiwi and nocturnal fauna exhibit! The zoo isnt huge, but its very well designed and informative. All the animals look happy and well cared for.

I ve been there multiple times. Every time I go, there s either major constructions going on or there are heaps of animals sleeping. What s the point of having a Zoo, a place where people go to see wild life, if all you damn animals are going to be sleeping. It just doesn t make sense. Only there should be more security and safety around the course, as it would not be difficult for varied animals to jump out. Other than that, it s a great place to visit with your fam

Such a wonderful experience. A lot to do and to see, kids loved every moment of the day.
You can spend the whole day over there. Loads of pictures to take. Cafe, food and icecream are all available there or just bring your picnic there and enjoy your food in one of many nice spots.
Great service and information provided by the staff besides the information that's presented all over the spaces.

Disappointed. Maybe we visited at the wrong time of day (1200-1500) as most animals were no where in sight.

Well set up zoo. Some bits were being developed so it wasn't the best experience but they lowered our ticket price because of it.

So sad, I didn t get enough time to see those cute kiwi birds. Will definitely go there again.

The best zoo I've been to yet. Lots of interesting, different animals to see in unique enclosures. The cafe upon entering the zoo serves good coffee and healthier choices! Eagerly awaiting the new exhibits to finish construction.

Lots of great exhibits and animals to see. Big areas under construction which look to be exciting when they open up. Great few hours with the family.

Great value for money, it was under construction when I last visited but can't wait to go back after renovations are complete!

The zoo is great. Nice big open spaces, lots of remodelling going on at the moment so a big chunk of the zoo is not available, but it has to happen at some stage.
Went to see the bug lab and was real disappointed with a number of things there broken and not functional. Especially disappointing given the entry is a premium on top of the zoo access itself.
Overall though a great place to spend a few hours, and then wander through the parks next door or even catch a tram to motat

Fun pkace for kids. (L2 no help) Once in plenty of fun for all ages, g8 food & lots of shade. Worth a family day out.

Love the Zoo. The new developments are well done as they bring you much closer to the animal and their enviroment. If only those darn lions could turn up and let out a roar.

Very good day out for a whole family and I saw a Kiwi bird who was 30 years old

Finally saw the kiwis for the first time, they are large and fast. awesome. timing is everything at the zoo. feeding time is always best.

We always love going to the zoo..it's undergoing major building and renovation at the moment so a bit less enjoyable but still worth going.

An awesome place to go and watch the wild life in its natural beauty.

What a great place for a family visit. Lots of animals as you would expect with lots of written explanations around. Also lots of helpful Zoo volunteers who can tell you all about the animals and plants for the zoo

Bought tickets online. Show up and unbeknown to me there is a big festival on at western springs. No parking was available so had to go home or go to a parking lot suggested which was $10. An oversight on my part perhaps, but if this is frequent, the zoo website should communicate when there will be no parking. The website says it offers 2 large carparks. I will update my review when i actually get to go as tickets are eligible for a bit before they expire, but will minus a star on the updated review to reflect this first experience.

Great day at Auckland Zoo!! Wonderful conservation/raising awareness concepts.

Usually this Zoo is a fantastic experience for kids and adults. At the moment it is under construction so there is some noise and a large area of the Zoo is closed off; the entry fee is slightly reduced to reflect this. We had a lovely day at the Zoo and look forward to the new exhibition areas to open to the public.

Perfect for many full days. Not over priced for food and drinks.

Spent a good solid 5hrs walking through the zoo and still didn't see it all. Great interactive shows for the kids to see. A fantastic place for a day out with the family. Well worth the visit.

Great for the kids and mum and dad. Ring before if you are keen to see certain animals . Like the tiger etc. I have really enjoyed taking my son there.

Please visit this zoo... the staff is incredibly friendly and the animals there will be enjoyed by all age groups.... amazing experience! Start early morning to enjoy everything

An enjoyable day even in murky weather. Unfortunate that the Hippo is no longer there.

Great place to take the kids, a really fun day was had by all. The food at the cafe is also pretty good with a decent variety of different tastes. Will be good when they complete the upgrades in the middle of the park.

Great visit to the Auckland Zoo, would definitely recommend it!

Amazing place to spend half day. It will be worth checking animal feeding times and plan your day before going as it will give you a better experience watching animals close. Also online advance booking is much cheaper.

One of the nicest zoos I ve ever been to. All of the enclosures are nice and open and its a nice environment.

Impressive. Grandson loved the eels. + Nice clean toilets.

Good exhibits...nicely re done environs. Avoid the outrageous food prices and the rude hassles for a photo at entrance.

A must visit in Auckland as you will be able to experience different habitats in the same place!
