Wonderful place for the kids plus this place need to spend a day. The coffee is reasonable but the food is average. Make sure bring enough water to walk around the zoo. Again the best place for the family. VH

I am delighted with the Zoo Park, maps, marked paths "guides" through the park, animals in humane conditions, information on "inhabitants" on the boards, I bought an annual ticket and I just used it. The souvenir shop is nicely furnished, but it's all very expensive.

Absolutely amazing. Was absolutely great seeing all the different animals there. Plus also an amazing selection of birds and insects. Food outlets located throughout the zoo which was absolutely brilliant as well as water fountains too. Prices were actually fairly reasonable as well as a fairly low entry fee. Quite a cool gift shop and good toilet facilities.

The last time I went here was way back in the late 90's with my parents. I went here last Monday with my wife and we were both impressed with the new look. I can't wait for the new South East Asian area to open. Thoroughly enjoyed our day, 10/10 would do it again.

I love bringing my kids to the Auckland Zoo and seeing all the beautiful animals, the kids love it too! The area itself is really family friendly and the animals themselves are a sight to look at, food isn't the cheapest thing there so highly recommended to bring stuff from home.

Most amazing, friendly and knowledgable Zoo o have ever been too. Even the Volunteer helpers were full of passion and knowledge. The conservation that they are doing is so very vital bot just for New Zealand but for the World!

Even if you never get around to going I would urge you to donate to them!

Just gonna dump all my photos and vids and let you take it from there.

It was a good zoo to visit. We were told to come here and not go to the aquarium in Auckland. It was a bit on the expensive side for zoos, it was $24 per person, according to their map it used to be $28.50. I think partially because they are doing some serious remodeling/ construction. You supposedly get a discount purchasing online before coming to the zoo.

Got turned around at the zoo a bit. Most of the animals looked like they had decent enclosures.

The zoo was pretty well maintained. Staff were friendly. Stopped by the food place in front of the construction, $9 for fish and chips (one piece of beer battered fish, frozen) and $12.5 for chicken sandwich (2 patties fried with sauce already on it). No charge food was being given to some customers who were friendly with a staff member behind the counter.

They were loud and boisterous. My husband had asked for a couple things, and was ignored while the friends chatted up the employee.

Fabulous, ever changing and improving. Large areas are being redeveloped but great care has been made to place interesting information and pictures even in those areas. Keep up the good work. I will be renewing my pass for sure

Great place to bring the family. Lots of friendly staff around. Lots of construction underway at the moment to bring Auckland a bigger and better Zoo. It s all being done with minimum disruption to visitors. Looking forward to heading back again once it s all finished.

It was brilliant being able to see the new baby zebra. The watering hole cafe and outdoor area was a welcome rest esp with two small toddlers. Looking forward to seeing the South East Asian section once renovations are complete.

Loved it. Was unclear as to where the talks would be held outside each enclosure though so missed a few. Would have been cool if the speaker systems they had in the gardens actually worked/got used ;)

Visited The Bug Lab. An exhibition put together by Weta Workshop. It is absolutely outstanding! A very hands on, highly detailed, informative display enjoyable for children & adults. We took our grand children. Allow 1 - 2 hrs to enjoy every aspect to its fullest as there is so much to learn and participate in. Fantastic work Weta. Thank you.

Auckland Zoo! Well, as the name implies, it is a zoo, a place where you go to see animals. There are heaps of them, and good thing is they segment those animals based on the country of origin, which helps the people to learn and understand the nature of those animals.
Awesome staff and great for the children, as I said previously so easy for them to learn!!

The construction around the place distracts from the experience and some of the zoo animals could not be seen because of the building work going on. I am sure the zoo will be a splendid place in the future once all the work is completed.

Amazing experience, enclosures have waterfalls and trees to make the animals feel at home. Lovely natural bush and streams throughout zoo. The staff are very informed and obviously do a great job caring for the animals

Had the most amazing day today. Not many people were practicing safe distancing and probably only half were wearing masks but everything was out and zoo staff were lovely explaining things about the animals:)
