It's great to see how the zoo is being transformed to a zoo of the future which provides a better outcome to the animals and visitors. Can wait to go back one the work is complete.

Great family day out.
As a Brit, of course I loved the Kiwi house.
Primates were playful and fun to watch.
A massive array of animals to observe and appreciate set in beautiful surroundings.
Being able to book a Mobility scooter for a family member in need was a nice touch.

Always lovely to see the animals and support the zoo. We go every year and park in the large carpark area across from the zoo then walk through the Lakeside Park where all the ducks are.

Amazing Beautiful animals in safe enclosures, cafes nicely spaced with higher prices than normal to help them fund the zoo to its best and water ready available in spaced spots. Come with snacks enough to keep you walking. Bring a pram for the little ones.

I liked this zoo, it is small, but it is very beautiful, it has playgrounds, it is very clean, they sell food near the Playground, the animals have a lot of space, the volunteers and zookeepers interact with the visitors when it comes to feeding the animals, I really enjoyed it, put on blocker and get ready to walk. You can learn a lot from New Zealand.

Amazing family day out so much to see. The elephants were a real highlight this visit, one of them was having a great time playing in the water. Looking forward to seeing what the new enclosures will look like once they are complete.

Really nice place to come with all of the family, and very well priced. Lots of animals to see, as well as plenty of shows. Good places to eat and reasonably priced. If you are looking to spend the day here I would bring your own water bottel as you cant buy water here, but there are lots of places to fill it up.

Very nice place, has all the facilities required. Staff are nice enough and served me well. I especially enjoyed the flirty female working when i came in. I enjoyed the place thoroughly and the services provided. Im unsure however weather i would come here i was suffering from any variation of hepatitis the vibe of the place also felt specially threatening to hepatitis A. Im unsure weather they would allow you to bring in an animal however big it may be. I would like to emphasize that i strongly feel hep A is not welcomed here.

Go early when animals still not hiding from the sun. Otherwise it is hard to find some of them as there are many in the shade or sleeping in their dens. No shows to explain the animals. Looks like they are really understaffed but there were a few volunteers to share about their animals. A real low key places. It is really well maintained. It is a short 20 minute bus ride from CBD and a short walk to the entrance.

You have to visit this place it is big!. Take a camera with you also for the animals... Wow this place is really fantastic. Amazing things to see here!! This is a great place to stay and also a nice place to look at and take photographs on a very sunny day too.

Wonderful place that had put a real effort into making the zoo one of Auckland's top attractions. Looks like they are building a pretty maybe new display that should be open in a couple of years. Highly recommended, all staff were super friendly and the animal displays are all well done.

Staffs service are awesome.. but the quality of the zoo need a lot of improvement... it can learn a lot from Singapore Zoo... animals can't easily be seen, no info about feeding time, KIWI is very hard to see, too dark...

The staff/ guides around the zoo are bloody amazing! So helpful and they go out of there way to assist. They don't just stand there either they actually approach you first. I thought it was just our luck we had help but as we walked around the zoo, every single tym without fail, we were approached by a guide/ staff. They were great and filled with knowledge about the animals and gave suggestions about what to see and given times for the next available tour in the area.

Awesome day out and huge changes are underway to update the zoo and allow new species so be worth checking back every few months. That makes having a friend of the zoo membership so worth it too (not mentioning alk the other perks)

Loved the animals, especially the Kiwi!!
However, I've been to other zoo's where they focus the signage on education and spreading awareness.

Currently a fair majority of the zoo is under construction in order to build bigger and better exhibits which is why there is a discounted entry fee at the moment. The newly opened exhibits like the Australian and new African area are modern and engaging and the old elephant house has been radically turned into a cafe/bar dream spot. There are definitely lots of animals still to see with all of the closures and there were encounters programmed throughout the day but maybe wait (if you're a local) till the zoo is fully up and running to see the new layout and designs they have planned!

Massive zoo with great enclosures. The kiwi enclosure and open vet hospital is a really cool highlight. Also the massive aviary with Kaka's and other birds is really cool place where you can get close to take photos and is really dense in bush which makes it really immersive. Loved it and would return if I was in Auckland again.

Lots of construction and I think visitors should be not charged full price. There is not a variety of animals and no shows or keepers on site sharing stories, giving public information, etc.
Lots of room for improvement!
Enjoyed the one bird display.
Good picnic areas but with not sheltered and this is so necessary as it rained 6 times in one day and this is common in winter.
The one limestone covered area is a hazard and an awful idea- it is slushy, slippery and sloshy.

Our group of 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 infant had a lovely time getting up close and fairly personal with the animals. Highlights were the big cats - we were fortunate enough to witness the tiger being fed and to see both the lionesses and cheetahs on the prowl - and the elephants. There was also what looked to be a great playground for the kids, however, naptimes intervened. Recommended for anyone visiting Auckland.

Amazing Bug World experience and a fantastic talking point for the three boys! We spent most of our time watching the elephants frolicking in the water. Lots of questions, love the enquiry.
