Did a gelato course there and the instructor was wonderful and helpful.

The structure and the assessment criteria of the course was very weak and not beneficial as claimed by their adverts. It was rather disappointing.

The culture of the school was very friendly and people are generally very helpful. Except for one pastry chef that came into our class uninvited and ate some gelato and spat it out in disgust! He gave no explaination and claimed the gelato was bad! Many people tried that gelato and people were giving rather positive feedbback. Nevertheless, I can't imagine having a teacher that marks a student workbook and show disgust when the student made mistakes. So demeaning to the student, and unkind. This chef certainly left a very bad impression of this school in me. Luckily, I did not have to learn from him. The rest of the school was all sunshine!

This is a leisure course to take if you have plenty of spare time and is looking for something fun to do. This school I am not so sure...

Chef fairos is very patience with us. Clear explanation. Even taught us how the smell of each individual dish or paste should be b4 cooking it. That's gd. Keep up the excellent professional work. Definitely will join again. Only appreciate if there is a halal kitchen on its own n allow the Muslims to wear tudung. The head scarf. Thanks

Bad experience when taking the gelato making course. Alot of time wasted on them trying to sell us their ice cream making machine which cost over $20K.

Everytime I ask for more information on ice cream making they would ask me to sign up for a more advanced course. Instructors were not forthcoming with the information for ice cream making. Do not recommend you wasting your time with them.

Highly recommended! Had a great time on a corporate cooking evening with colleagues and friends. Organisation was very good, food prep was mostly done for us so all we had to was to cook the dishes without ruining them. Very knowledgeable team of Chefs providing instructions and guidance, and nice wine to go with it all.

The Indian cuisine cooking class I took was very experimental. Chef Satish who taught us has vast experience in the cuisine. He shared lots of cooking tip and was very detailed in explaining the different spices and it s benefits.
The recipes was easy to follow and the result was excellent. I highly recommend this class to all who love Indian food.

Facilities are decent. Strict rules about attire and hygiene in the kitchen, which is nothing bad. However this level of professionalism does not extend to management s own behaviour although they impose it on students.

In my WSQ class, everyday we need, NEED to give up 15-25% of our bakes to Sunrice staff to eat for their TeaBreak . Even when most of us openly expressed our displeasure at why we need to surrender our bakes for their staff to eat.

This is not EXCESS bread that the students don t want to bring home. This is bread that we baked and would like to keep but forced to share everyday with the internal staff working there. The poor trainer/chef will tell us to pass over the bread so that he/she can put aside as its expected that the chef reserves FOOD for their TEABREAK. Like ??? Quoting what one of the student said we should charge them for our bread . We paid full price for the course but need to pay loyalties to the staff there.

In addition, try calling their hotline, at times no one answers for half a day no matter which option you pick. Its like no one works there.

The administration is poor in updating students on the class changes and even at the end of the course unable to advise on how and when to collect the certificate of completion. Even after students call and enquire. The class schedule for 8 days course is only given to students on the 7th day of the class.
Students are left unsure of timing, where to go each day. the instructors and hands - on are good but wasted on the poor school administration and non-existent communication.

One of the worst customer interaction I ever had with a hospitality education setup.

No ones picks up the phone and if they do - after >5 rings. This guy by the name of Chong don t even identify himself or greets when he picks up the phone. I had to ask who he was and which department!

Preposterous & all round screwed customer service .....

Attended At-Sunrice's Chocolate Workshop: The Ultimate Dark Chocolate Mousse in late October 2018. We prepared 3 components - Dark Chocolate Mousse, Dulcey Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Moelleux.

As someone without any experience in the kitchen, it was eye-opening. The kitchen was really nice and spacious, with top grade equipment. The At-Sunrice diploma students were very helpful in providing guidance. Finally the instructor Clement Bazin also attended to everyone of us to ensure that our desserts were a success, giving input as to why the dish was prepared in a certain manner. Having gone through the practical makes the skills learnt a lot more

It has inspired me to be a lot more active in the kitchen - after understanding a bit more about it, I've slowly started to try other culinary styles as well.

Great experience! After two days of study, the children experienced a lot of Western etiquette and tasted a lot of delicious food. Every food is carefully prepared and produced by the chef, and the children are very satisfied! Said that they don't want to leave Highly Recommend!

I am a Diploma in Pastry and Bakery student. I really enjoyed the classes and learnt a lot from the chefs. The internships are great opportunities especially for international students like myself to get experience working in Singapore. Although it is a little tough to get a job in Singapore post the diploma course but I definitely recommend it for the learning experience. Future placements cannot be promised especially to international students. The course requires hard work and dedication as does the industry which is an extremely important factor to remember. Keeping this in mind it is a great place to learn basic and intermediate level skills as well as to get the opportunity to work in cool places in Singapore.

Management arrangements need more improvement,
No inform of changed timing, no inform of bring foods back (due to covid cannot eat there.) Luckily Chef gave us the disposable containers and he tried to found a carrier for me.

If you want to implement strict rules on student attire for part time student, please state clear on the course before enrollment. It should not be after enrollment and when school was paid, then email us on the attire requirement.
You are unethical, just want to get the student to sign up.

If I can give a zero start - I will do so! Please avoid this place! Especially those who want to use skill future credit to attend short courses. What listed in the course content are all SCAM - they only teach 50% and rest are just demo. To my understanding Skill future required hands on and have to adhered to the certain training hours. Their chefs are not very professional - very impatient. Feedback to the student services - worst, mentioned that will get back to me but no response at all. I even copy the person "Tan CP" in my email - apparently quite a senior guy.

They are out to SCAM people that is using skill future credit.

Please think twice and avoid this place - there are other baking schools that are more professional.

Attended 2 courses here but will be back for more. Chefs are all very helpful and good in imparting knowledge. Learnt a lot during the course of 6 days. Chef Pan and Fairos and very friendly and quick in answering our queries. Not only did they teach about the recipes that was supposed to be taught but tips and others added in, I guess you'll not find another place that the chefs are so willing to share. School is also very professionally set up. Kitchen is top notch. And it's clean!

The location is easily accessible and opposite Tai Seng MRT. Had a good and dedicated chef as a teacher. The kitchens are well equipped. There is a wide variety of culinary courses, and SkillsFuture Credits can be used here. The administration services can be improved.

I called the school to enquire about one of their culinary programmes only to have the customer service representative hang up on me before I finished saying what I had to say. It is extremely rude of the guy who answered my call. He gave me none of the information I needed to know about the course and told me to just check the website again end of February. Really poor attitude! It makes me ponder about the standard of the school. Can't even train their staff well!

Love the location and environment (near Tai Seng mrt). Bad curriculum planning. We were informed of the wrong timing. Some lessons ended early. There were different versions of the recipes handed out. Till now, still don't know which is the correct version.

I did the WSQ-Agemono class. It was smooth sailing as everything was well prepared. And Chef was great in adding in extra tips here and there. Mostly enjoyed learning how to cook tempura prawn. Didn't realise need to cut it a few times...then stretch the body...before frying it. And there are special tempura chopsticks to make the batter. This class only happens once a year so next year I recommend for others to do!
