The seats are very and uncomfortable and during the First Act they kept allowing people to come in and walk in front of us. Very annoying when you're trying to watch a play. If people can't get there on time, they should need to wait. If it was only one or two people that would have been fine, but it had to be about four to five different groups.

Would give 5 stars but had 2 issues.

Would give 5 stars but had 2 issues.
Parking is crazy. Please have more people directing traffic.
The second is the leaving the theater during the performance...and not letting you in. They made me go around, after me telling them I have trouble going up the stairs, and directing me to a wrong door. The rest was good but now I will hesitate going back.

tried to buy tickets on line. 3 available in a row but the system wouldn't let me buy just 2 (leaves a single seat). had to call their box office ( inconvenient) and they charge an $8 fee to execute that order by phone. Not a great venue either needs updating, Too few bathrooms and not good for elderly/handicap with parking and ramps. Don't recommend unless you absolutely must see what is playing.

Frank Loyd Wright's "Circus Tent in the Desert" has graced this site along what had years ago been the main highway between Tempe & Phoenix. The colors, design elements and materials come together in a perfect marriage of fluidity & function, it's just a stunning design. I developed a love and appreciation for architecture that still is with me today, in fact I was so impressed with his style there were elements that so impressed me I incorporated in the design of a home I built in the rugged California Sierras, I cant compare or even attempt the excellence Mr. Wright's legacy has blessed us with but I'm always on the lookout for his other works. The Marin County Civic Center is also a great work of functional art he blessed us with.

The parking lot as well as how they handle parking in general is less than ideal. The inside seems dated to say the least. There is ample seating and lobby space, but there seems to be a severe lack of restrooms given the overall size and occupancy capacity.

Wonderful. Everything is updated. Added an elevator and additional womens rest rooms. No lines at the rest room! Loved tge show On Your Feet the sound system is updated. I could hear and understand tge dialogue. Gammage has a bar on orchestra and grand tier levels. There was a sold out crowd so buy your tickets early. If there isn't any parking around the theatre than you can park at two parking garages near by.

Attended the Les Miserables tour here. It was spectacular start to finish! This venue is wonderful. Free parking, super helpful attendants, great view of the stage, upgraded sound system.

Attended a wonderful music program featuring a group of musicians from Mongolia. The music was diversified and a translator explained the variety of instruments, and backgrounds of the musicians. The reception afterwards was lovely, and allowed personal interaction with the performers. What a lovely evening!

From the first row of the first balcony, I saw KINKY BOOTS and PIPPIN that were excellent. The only problem that I encountered was the sound system that is not excellent. In the theater, it was difficult to understand the lyrics that were clear on my computer.

In actuality, I would love to be able to give damage five stars. But the truth is they need those renovations done so badly. They need aisles down the middle so people can get to seats easier and of course they need more women's restrooms. But ASU continually decides to put more money into remodeling their football stadium for games that nobody even goes to instead of putting money into the arts which are pretty much always a full house. I think damage is the best place in Maricopa county to see the big venue productions.

Good theater with good productions. Avoid the upper balcony, it is too high sightlines are terrible and the sound is poor. I really dont know why it's there. The traditional balcony and floor offer great views and sound.

Recently went here to see the Broadway show, Wicked (which was AMAZING btw). Staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful at every turn. Their website recommends to arrive an hour early and if you do go to the gold parking. If you are less than an hour go to the maroon parking garage. Cost for parking varies ($10 - $15). We arrived 40 mins before the show started and used maroon. Staff/Police were there to help direct traffic, give directions all along the way. Ushers were great to help us find our seats. Concessions and merchandise staff were also nice and helpful. They had pricing sheets to pass throughout the line to help you decide and speed up the process. We did all this and still got to our seats 10 minutes before it started. After the show we were so impressed that we went to the box office and got tickets for another upcoming show. Note: the is a terrace area on the upper level if you want some fresh air.

I was trying to leave this review on Vettix to say thank you but they wouldn't allow me to submit without a picture. With the rain and the parking, we sat down right when the music started and were rushing the whole time so never took a picture outside of the poster. So here is the review I was going to leave on Vettix. Thank you again so much for the seats!

Wow! Thank you so much to ASU Gammage Auditorium for these amazing seats! My girlfriend has raved about this show since she watched it and then I woke yesterday morning with an alert about this event. I asked her if she was interested and she said "Si, Papi!". We live in Phoenix and had to go to Tucson for the day but could make it back in time so I put in for the tickets. She was excited and off we were.

My beautiful girlfriend was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. Now working as an Interpreter at the Federal Court in Phoenix, she is no slouch when it comes to Latin knowledge. I, on the other hand, am a Canadian who served in the Marines and was stationed in Japan, who was fortunate enough to be a Sun Devil and was a moron until I met her.

My girlfriend has never sat so close to the stage and was thoroughly impressed by John's perfect timing, inflection, and energy throughout the performance. I hadn't seen the show so I had nothing to compare it to but was very impressed with his performance. It's inspiring to see the commitment to the craft. Thank you again, ASU Gammage, it was a night to remember!

We love Gammage, we have had season tickets for over ten years. It is a wonderful place to see a Broadway show. The aisles are roomy, much larger than NYC theaters so you have lots of room for your legs. They offer food and beverage as well as specialty cocktails for each show. My only complaint as an avid show goer is that they do not give out Playbills. They have their own version called a Gambill, which is why they lost a star on my review.

I hadn't been to Gammage in 30 years, but would go again anytime. Very well organized staff, everyone was so friendly & helpful.
And what a beautiful facility, just a wonderful experience. P.S. WICKED was amazing too .

The Gammage is a wonderful place to see musicals and dramas. I remember when the Gammage was the biggest ornate building in Tempe. Tempe has grown beyond big to gigantic. The Gammage staff works hard to make sure their guests are safe and comfortable. The security staff scans everyone.

I love Gammage! I used to play on the stage as a student in the Symphonic Band. I have seen many, many shows here. Such a beautiful facility. BUT one star, because nowadays I have a son who plays in the ASU Symphony Orchestra and it is ridiculous to try and purchase tickets. The cost to see the college symphony (which used to be free) is now $12 apiece, but only if you show up at the box office in person. Over the phone they cost $15 apiece, and online the tickets are $16.86! Adding insult to injury, my mom has to check her walker at the coat check. We have to haul her to her seat, which is embarrassing for her, but she wants to see her grandson play. Come on Gammage!! I know you are in the big leagues now, and TicketMaster runs you, but remember your roots! ASU Symphony Orchestra tickets should cost no more than $12 with NO FEES, no matter how they are purchased. And consider expanding your handicapped seating options.

The theater is beautiful and acoustics seemed amazing but we were in row 6. The layout of the entires is a little odd at first until you remember the odd and even separation. The two larger entrances are for the front rows. The show we went to did have a bar and snacks before and during the show.

the show was phenominal, however, my issue was two things. when doors are closed and the show has begun, NOBODY should be allowed to enter to be seated. that disrupts the entire show for everyone especially when 10mins into it.

rude patrons, I was unfortunate to have been seated by the most foul and rude set of drunken hags on the planet. not only were they late to the show they came in drunk as a skunk where tlyou could smell it on them. they were disrespectful, loud, obnoxious and ect. during intermission I spoke to the floor manager and told them that these 60 year old drunk ladies kept talking, using their cell phone, talking to one another loudly and just being the worst damn people on the face of the planet. their answer was to "talk to them". drunken hags cannot be reasoned with, the 2nd half of the performance they were EVEN worse because why? "oh im gonna do whatever I want" was quoted by one of them after they were talked too.

they should have never been seated and I hope they didnt drive because they were so liquored up they could have ended killing someone from drunk driving.

I love the productions that I have been able to see here without traveling to New York. The staff is always friendly. The bathroom renovations are very nice. The one downside I would say is that a few of the shows I have been to it has been hard to hear. Some shows are better than others.

Have had the pleasure of attending shows on a regular basis in this iconic piece of architecture. The state and university have been diligently updating to make any visit even better.
If you haven't gone to a show you should check out the season's shows.

Love this venue. Fantastic musicals and performances. Nearly all are sold out. Wine and specialty cocktails, snacks, desserts, coffee served at intermissions and before the shows. Newly renovated restrooms. Wheelchair accessible. Parking is rather difficult.

Name recognition because of the architect. Unfortunately, this is not a great place to see a show. Acoustics are bad, sightlines are not very good and everytime I leave a show I question why Gammage?

I went to see "The Blue Man Group". One of the best groups I've ever seen! The inside of the building is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Very comfortable. I recommend this venue for any entertainment function that you may want to go see. It met my expectations completely! :-)

Nice theatre. Enjoyed the play Hamilton. Ticket prices were better than other places. Parking location was a bit confusing although I was able to pay for, download and print online prior to arrival. Name of building didn't match ticket & no posting on structure. Ticket was on cell phone & they just scanned it

Saw RENT here last night and had a blast. This is truly a gem of a venue. What amazed me most was how clean it was. It's a blessing to have this venue and these kinds of shows right here in our own back yard. I would say the only thing that I didn't like was the kind of indifferent/stuck up attitude of the young girl at the will call and there was an usher/security guard there, a larger woman, who was very bossy to the point of being rude and annoying. Other than that it was perfect and the rest of the staff was so helpful and friendly.

Amazing experience. Parking is close by, even without a permit, you do have to walk some. Security was fast. Just allow extra time for traffic to get in and out, which is inevitable. The top balcony is steep and if your are height sensitive it might be a bit much. I love the higher view to really see everything.

I love seeing plays at Gammage. The auditorium in itself is wonderful. Prices for food and drink are what you would expect for the convenience. My only issue is there is no plans in place for when people are being rude and talking through entire plays. I saw Wicked with my mother recently and the couple next to us we're having a conversation through the entire 3 1/2 hours, even after I asked them to please respect everyone around them. When I spoke with a member of staff during intermission they said there really wasn't anything that they could do and to basically deal with it. It's unfortunate that there are people who actually pay to watch the play and can't get assistance when others are making it hard to hear.

Balance issues and slight disabilities become pronounced when tight-roping to the regular seats. Next time, I will flash the handicap flag and get something not so unsafe.

If there is a fire, God forbid, everyone would die.
