Facilities are a bit cramped, but Manheim Steamroller was great.
Facilities are a bit cramped, but Manheim Steamroller was great.
Very fun place, the seats a a bit small in that you touch other people's elbows but other than that
it's always a good time.
What a wonderful performance of Aladdin. The venue is lovely as always.
I like seeing shows at Gammage. The seating is great, we've sat in various areas and no matter where they have been the viewing is good. I prefer paying for parking so we're close to the entrance but I've also parked and walked in and it's not an issue you just need to give yourself enough time.
We came here to see wicked. The staff was friendly and the seating comfortable. I'd reccomend coming to check this place out for a show.
Very nice on the outside and great for photoshoots! I've only attended one event inside and it wasn't a play but it was nice and spacious inside! Very cute. Outdoor bridge is nice for photoshoots!!
Beautiful auditorium. Huge stage and great acoustics.
I know they are adding some..but not enough women's bathrooms
Concert was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful.... awesome time with Frankie Valle & Four Seasons
Highly recommend getting a Lyft or an Uber there. Parking is difficult whenever there is a show
Saw Hamilton on the balcony. Don't recommend if you are afraid of heights.
Good acoustics. Parking is ok. They just expanded the bathrooms to include more stalls.
School of Rock was a blast. We got to sit in row 5 thanks to my parents not using their tickets. ASU Gammage is a great place for musicals and other live stage performances.
Gammage had kept with the ambiance of the theatre and renovated to add bathrooms and elevators. Providing this application for guests allows everyone to fully enjoy the live theater experience that Gammage provides.
Bringing you Broadway productions on the heat of Tempe, Gammage will provide unique that will inspire.
Saw the Color Purple here. Great venue but I thought the show was going to be a bio piece about rise and fall of Barney.
The final show of the season and it was spectacular. Great talent. Wonderful facility. Everyone show experience at least one event at Gammage.
Great performance (ASU orchestra) at a great venue.
Can't wait for another performance. Everything was so nice!
Beautiful theater and the staff are always incredible.
Nice little theater. Seats were small and the balcony had no railings which made it scary for some people. Also, the staff did not offer any help to handicap people. Didnt show them where elevators were or anything.
Watched a Richard Dawkin and Laurence Krauss discussion here years ago and loved it. The 'show' itself was very interesting, but the theatre had no bad seats that I could tell. I sat up on the balcony and had no issues with audio or visuals.
Love it more Everytime. Please keep quiet and enjoy the show.
We love Gammage and are season ticket holders. Our smallest of complaints is sometimes the sound quality is not the best, but I understand some shows use their own sound system so that could be the cause
Attended "Beautiful, Carol King Musical ". It was fabulous.
Gammage is a great place to see a musical or a lecture. The seats are comfortable and parking is not a hassle.
Such a fun place to watch a show and you can buy food and alcohol and bring it in!
We've gone to a number of plays at this venue and we have always had a good experience.
Les Miserables, Newsies, Peter Pan, The Forgotten Carols. Each event has been fun and memorable for our family.
We've seen several shows here. Older venue but still very enjoyable.
Easy to maneuver to your seats, and helpful staff to point you in the right direction. Plenty of snack and drink options as well.
I was surprised at the line for the men's room though... For a change, the ladies had no line and the men had a line 50' out the door.
Also the parking lot is a hot mess when it is time to leave. Easily 20-30 minutes to get on the street from the lot. Recommend parking away from the Gammage and walking.
The biggest auditorium at ASU, Tempe ! Has a capacity of 2000 and it's magnificient
Love going to Gammage. The new bathrooms are heavenly. Such a wonderful upgrade. Ate at the cafe and enjoyed that.
We saw School of Rock, Fantastic play, all the kids in the cast played own instruments...we didn't want the play to end!
Friendly staff, easy access to the theater from parking lot
Spectacular modern theater with Middle Eastern touches. Architectural design was initially intended as the 'National Theater of Iraq'. For various reasons that didn't proceed. All plans were complete, so ASU determined to build structure on their Tempe campus.
It's a beautiful, historic building. Incredible acoustics for symphony. Sound for Broadway touring musicals is better than it used to be. They really shouldn't book plays though, as the hall is just too big. The top balcony is very steep - I'll only sit there if the tickets are a great deal. I like that they regularly change the artwork in the lobbies.
Gammage is a wonderful venue on the ASU Tempe campus. Great shows, relaxed crowd.
I've seen Wicked and Finding Neverland here and both were lovely productions. There's not much space in the higher seats but they are also a great price.
Beautiful, historic, the new bathrooms make the bathroom wait line go quickly. Friendly staff
Great performance of Wicked. Decor needs updating.
Great performance, outstanding cast. Highly recommend Helli Dolly.
Terrific, but the Ticketmaster fees were outrageous: $20 tickets, (2), and a $20 fee!
Lots of traffic, confusion, police and barely any place to actually park. One of the more difficult places to gave a good time at.
While I can't say how the show or how the layout of the theater was I can say that the employees at ASU Gammage or horrible! While attempting to purchase a third ticket for the Lion King show Ms. Hermosillo responded with a rude and dissmissve no. When my father asked why not Ms. Hermosillo heaved an impatient sign and responded with a snooty, "because we are sold out" while we would have understood that Ms. Hermosillo's attitude was unnecessary. After that ordeal my family and I elected not to even go to the show. If we had known that, that was the reception we were going to recieve we would not even bought the first 2 VIP tickets in the first place. We did not go see the Lion King show and never will my family and I go see a show in the future at ASU Gammage.
I've been attending events at Gammage since I was a kid. I love everything about it. The color, the architecture, the acoustics, and the location. Taking my daughter to Phantom of the Opera was amazing as will be taking my granddaughter next!
Wish they were more accommodating to injured persons... Went when I was on crutches due to surgery and they wouldn't even allow me to go in and sit in the vestibule only 10 minutes early
They're working to be ADA compliant
Great volunteers!
Nice staff, and the new (to me) interior paint job makes the room feel less sterile. We saw Aladdin and had a great time.
I really liked the surprise of having an after-show presentation with some of the cast. That's great for kids to interact with the artists, and enjoyable for the adults to be able to connect with the performers. I would even recommend including crew in that session, as they can are just as critical, and noble professions for youth to be exposed to.
Beautiful place to enjoy a show. Don't see a drama from the highest balcony seats
I'm in a wheelchair so the only complaint I have is the only wheelchair seating is on the floor level in the very front or very back. But the house staff has always been so helpful and even pushed me to my seat when my power chair was out of order and I had to bring my manual wheelchair. The acoustics are excellent. Definitely my favorite place to enjoy a performance.
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright this distinctive theater had good acoustics and a relatively good seating arrangement. Try to get seats at least a couple of seats in from the end to avoid missing out on some of the incredible sets for the Broadway plays (the closer to the center the better but also keep in mind due to the arch design of the rows the center of the rows are further away from the stage than the end seats). They offer a cash bar with snacks during intermission. Additionally there was plenty of parking even for a virtually sold-out show. Parking was quite reasonable at $10 for the gold lot which is right there with the theater. There's a Lyft drop off and pick up area just outside of the theater's parking lot. They also offer the convenience of quick parking for those coming in to purchase or pick up tickets. Oh and for those wanting to do dinner and a play be sure to check the website for local restaurants that offer discounts and free appetizers the day of your show if you show your ticket.
I was very young when I first saw The West Side Story & Lion King. I then saw Hamilton here after watching the original in New York, & it was better. The venue is great and clean.
Great venue as long as you don't have vertigo. Since this Frank Loyd Wright-designed theater is vintage, the seats are very small and very close together. The pitch of the upper balcony often has me feeling unsteady despite being in my 30s. The sound, lights, sets, and staff ate always great. Everytime I've been to Gammage, the productions have been very enjoyable. The seats are small. Yes I said that twice, because it's fairly uncomfortable if you're not sitting between two people you know.
It was amazing the show was great and the theatre was beautiful and clean
Really? I just walked in the door and haven't even taken my seat. Talk about stalking.
All seats are great and the prices are reasonable. They have had some great musicals come through and also some great speakers. Who doesn't want to support the arts in PHX. Restrooms during intermission are a huge issue.
Wonderful theatre which has an incredible capacity for the audience. The music system is amazing
Amazing play! Saw Wicked last night, it was my first play at Gammage! The effects, acting, talent, and the music were top notch! LOVED everything! We sat in tier C and they were great seats! The staff were night and friendly. The theater itself was classy and the seats were comfortable! Can't wait to go again!
Accomodated easily for my partner who uses a wheelchair
Great experience seeing Led Miserables! I did not like the balcony seats, the sound was not so good there.
The show was great but the facility is uncomfortable. Hard seats and negligible a/c.
Beautiful venue with the most interesting structure. I'm usually in the nose bleed seats but it's surprising the view isn't as bad as you would think. Plus the sound doesn't suffer either.
RENT! Great 20th Anniversary Tour. (Finally bathrooms!!!)
This auditorium is extremely well run and efficiently run for its size and average number of people occupying it. The acoustica are spectacular, as well as the sound systems and light systems. There are many easily accessible handicap options built into the auditorium, so you don't have to go on the hunt for a ramp or any accommodations. You can also book handicap accommodations with any ticket purchase. A great place to see a show.
This place is huge. First time here to see Wicked with my mom. The entire place looked clean and organized. They provided a bar and we tried a drink called Ruby Slipper. It had vodka and grapefruit. I'd recommend it. The restrooms were huge and clean. The only problem were how uncomfortable those seats are but I would still come back again and sit through any one of their shows!
