Had a great time at Gammage with my daughter. We saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All of the staff were super friendly and really helpful...especially when they can see a Dad flying solo with a toddler at a play! Haha marked off one star because Gammage is a bit dated as a facility...however, in spite of that, it was a great show!

Awesome evening. 2019 play line up is going to be exciting. Professional quality plays and great line up of performers. Handicap accessible with ramps and elevators. Brand new womens bathrooms. Plenty of handicap designated seating. Plan to arrive at least 1 hr ahead of time to get parking somewhere close to facility.

Never an issue at Gammage, plenty of parking and the theater experience is one to never miss! Friendly staff, great acoustics, and plenty to see or do in the mean time while waiting for a show.

I have seen two plays at Gammage. Everyone is pleasant and the plays seem well run but the interior seem a little dated. And the parking situation is a disaster. I would say "Show up early," but then you cannot get your seat until 15 min before the show. It is also frustrating that there is construction causing confusion and delays.

All the ushers but no one could say "you will go all the way around the building, up many, many rounds of stairs to get to the balcony." The elevator is here... instead it was simply "go to the left." TOTAL DISREGARD FOR PATRONS AND PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE HEALTH ISSUES (just getting energy back from flu bug). People near us recently went through hip surgery and were not told anything either.
Do not purchase in the balcony ever again, note to self!

This will be the last season we are season ticket holders. We are in row 23, seats 37 & 39 under the balcony toward the rear of the orchestra. About 15 feet forward from us is the lip of the balcony which is populated with downward- facing speakers that NEVER seem to be on. In short, we have extreme difficulty hearing anything but musical numbers we already know and so do not have to strain to understand the message. When it comes to male or female actors reciting lines or lyrics, we may as well not even be there. Males - sometimes but females - never. In fact, the new acoustic system seems to have been designed specifically to blot out the decibel range of all females and children and some male tenors. Thus, Book of Mormon was a total waste; same for Bridges of Madison County and same for "A Christmas Story" - many screeching children's voices - which were almost totally unintelligible (we left at the intermission). And in case one thinks this is just us, the couples on both our right and left have also frequently commented on their inability to hear the actors (and have also left at the intermission). The ONLY show we understood completely was "A Man's Guide to Love and Murder" because of the [small] open captioning sign placed to the left of the stage which enabled us to "get" what was going-on. In short, the new acoustics system is a bust no matter what you spent and will be THE reason WE will not renew. I feel we have wasted almost this entire season because we just could not understand either the dialogue or the lyrics. Too bad because we felt that the choice of shows this year was particularly good - and the fact that some of the shows (e.g., "If/Then") included the original Broadway cast made them truly potentially top notch.

My second time seeing a play in this venue. First was Wicked, this time was The Play that Goes Wrong. We didn't have any issues with parking thankfully. Cocktails were good & creative. They had several snacks available, we indulged in a brownie and some pretzels. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It was pretty easy finding our seats which were a little on the small size.

It is a beautiful theater designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the upper deck is so high and the viewing angle is so steep that it's sometimes hard to see action in the back of the stage

The play was fabulous and there really doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the theater. My only complaint is the lack of parking. We ate at a restaurant in Tempe. Left our cars in their parking lot and called an Uber to get to ASU Gammage. The driver had no trouble getting us in and dropping us off. Leaving is another story all together. None of the ushers at the theater gave out information as to where to meet your Uber or taxi, nor were there signs anywhere. We called for our Uber and because he could not get in to pick us up we had to walk out to Mill Avenue to meet him, as did a number of other people. A little more information about the nightmare parking would have been helpful.

This was the first time we had been to ASU Gammage. It is a beautiful theatre and I am sure we will be going there again. We saw the last performance of Aladdin and the cast didn't disappoint! Parking is tricky especially for first time attendees. So make sure you know where you can park ahead of time. That being said, I was a wonderful performance and we are glad we went.

Went to see Wicked. We sat in the tier section row 8 center. It was too far away. The sound was sketchy and we could not get all of the words. We will pony up the extra money and get floor seats next time. Even the side seats would have been better if they were closer.

Visit to gammage was really awesome experience. The international student welcome was held here and it was spectacular view with so many people. Seats, sounds, stage everything is spectacular and mesmerizing. Indian students and Chinese students gave excellent performances of their respective cultural dance forms. All flags of the various schools looked great on stage. Very spacious hall with thousands of seats both on ground and upper floor. The toilets available were also clean and good. Parking is available outside gammage. Buses for other asu campuses and orbit buses have a stop here.

Big Daddy Weave concert was great the problem was there is two upper balconies you could only see half the screen and lights on the stage were shining right in our face
The sound system isn't very good either.
I'm never going back

Parking was so-so. The place was amazing back in the day, but is in need of a remodel. The biggest area of improvement could come with the seating. We watched a concert and the place isn't set up for this both visually and acoustically.

Don t buy the cheaper seats at the top balcony- the stage literally feels like it is straight under you and you can barely see the backdrop of the stage. I saw Blue Man Group there. They served alcohol, but only offered to purchase before the show started, not during. There are no cup holders at the seats. Parking wasn t so bad- close spot, easy out- but we did show up later and left later. Very friendly employees.

Cool theater and quirky design. Only two stars because the bathroom situation is not very nice. It sounds like recently they added tons of women's restrooms which is great, but what about the men? To be fair the restrooms were very clean so that was nice, but I don't like feeling like cattle being led to a trough, you can literally touch your elbows with the elbows of the guys on either side of you, no dividers or privacy whatsoever and hardly any stalls. Doesn't bother a lot of people I'm sure but it's just unnecessary, put one less urinal and add some dividers or something!!

Recently attended ASU Gammage Beyond series presentation of "Aging Magician" at Galvin Play House. A friend and myself walked over from his nearby home. The play was awesome and I loved the surrounding ambiance of the whole area. Great place to spend a nice evening! Must visit for art afficionados. Designed by internationally renowned architect, Frank Lyod Wright.

Always a great time. Gammage always brings in high quality shows. After the remodel, the lines to the restroom are much shorter. A much needed renovation to the amenities. Go see a show here.

I will definitely be returning for more theater productions. My daughter and I drove down from the hill, to see Wicked and it was a pleasure to get to watch this amazing show. The company and the rest of the staff were exceptionally helpful and fantastic performance.

My experience is;
Was given Gammage dinner and show package for a special birthday.
Was called out of the country and didn't notice a expiration date on the tickets. Upon my return home I tried to make reservations and told tough luck. I tried getting thru to someone and 45 minutes later I was able to talk to someone in the front office She told me no problem that she gave me two names of someone who would call me. They never did. So $300.00 worth of tickets and dinner are down the drain. Over a hour on the phone wasted. 81 yrs old and retired U S Air Force. Not a good experience. If anyone of importance reads this a wants to help call me. My number is listed.
