Expect the txuleton, the candied peppers and the chillies, without a doubt the txuleton wins the trophy. All accompanied with a very good and attentive service as an exceptional place in the dining room next to the grill where you can enjoy how the txuletones are made. Although a bit expensive the coffee with bayleis. The rest what we expected. To repeat without a doubt

Very nice experience and the steak was just Excellent. Be sure to tell the waitress how you like your steak cooked. Oh, it is recommended to book a table but we we're lucky to have a table without booking
One of the temples of meat in Spain. Short letter where the product premium. In addition to its spectacular and well-known steak, we tried the chorizo de buey, the peppers of the piquillo candied (also the house brand), some delicious artichokes, and to finish, some torrijas and a simply spectacular cheese cake. I let myself be recommended in terms of wine and they were totally correct, 'Magma' I loved it.
It is simply authentic. The txuletas that they prepare in their traditional grill are exquisite. Finally, they have a homemade patxaran dropping tears in each drink. The place and the environment; genuine. Good quality of products and their attention is truly professional. Although in my experience there they initially neglected to make the second batch of txuletas, when they noticed that delay, they quickly served them quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
An atmosphere, an atmosphere and an incomparable place. For food, a great time, all the original flavors are a treat. Very well received and attentive. A passionate restaurant.
We tried to convince ourselves ... (we thought "maybe not being filleted is less bulky ..."). But no. As we were eating we were disappointed. The reality is what it is. Impossible that it was 1 kg 190 gr. And the presentation, unworthy.
There is not much to say about this magnificent place. We came expressly from Girona to eat this steak and it did not disappoint at all. Total joy with the added bonus of feeling at home and surrounded by your friends. Sensational.
Traditional place in Tolosa to eat an exceptional txuleta with candied peppers, as well as different starters and desserts. Despite not having an extensive menu, they offer dishes out of the menu, and are more than enough to accompany a txuleta, of great quality, and cooked in the same dining room. The decoration of the place is also very characteristic, which gives the restaurant an extra touch. As the waiter told us, they have not changed the menu or the decoration of the premises since 1951. An obliged visit.
Txuleta and perfect peppers! The place is very cozy and the treatment is excellent. Special mention to Maria, the sommelier, majestic, charming. Recomendadisimo
First experience. Very good sensations. Very good quality / price. Respecting the menu of yesteryear with very good presentation. Friendly and attentive service. Without a doubt, when my pocket can, I will return!
If a meteorite were to fall right now, which meant the extinction of humanity, I wouldn't mind ... As long as it doesn't fall here. The peppers and the "advent" of the ribeye have been like talking to J.C. ;)
Reference restaurant for its Txuleta Grilled and served with the cut on the table. Overall excellent quality. Correct treatment. Of course, the prices are consistent with the quality. 47 k of txuleta.
Awesome!!!!! the cutlet, the asparagus, .... we will have to come back soon !! mythical restaurant where you can taste the best cutlet in the basque country.
I was recommended by a co-worker. The premises urgently need reform. The food very good, I ordered txuleta and peppers for myself only, the txuleta they offered me was 1 kg. The surprise came to pay the bill, almost 60, it seemed like a pass. I drank a soda.

Excellent restaurant, very quiet, cozy and quirky. The place is very peculiar, the entrance doors are old, the walls are unpainted and dirty, it looks like a restaurant that has not been fixed for 100 years, but that is the charm of this place. About the food to say !! excellent is little, everything is of the highest quality, the extensive wine list and great wines. Their star dish is the chops, impressive, they make it on a small grill in the same room next to the tables, the tender meat melts in your mouth, with an incomparable flavor. Prices are high but not outrageous considering the quality of food and service. A normal dinner can go out for 60-75 euros per person depending on the wine or drinks that are taken. A restaurant that I recommend 100%.
Very good, expensive service and the second txuleta was not as tender as the first, which was delicious. Little quantity. Good experience but we will not be back.
Without a doubt the best chuleton I've ever tasted. Maybe the place does not seem appetizing at first sight but once you put the food you forget everything and you only think about eating Don Matias chuleton
Best txuleton ever! Very unpretentious and relaxed place ...It felt like walking in someone's garage but then you are welcome by friendly staffs and you are taken through to a very authentique and unique room where the steaks are cooked infront of you.
The peppers are very good, the dessert very good, but the steak is nothing out of the world. I have eaten them much better in the same province, they sell you steak per cutlet, the price of the steak on the menu is correct but not what they serve you, it is a drink of hair. I was expecting something exceptional by the comments of other people and one of two or people do not know what a ribeye is or this day they did not have the day. In fact, I do not recommend anything to anyone, the meat of any cider house is better than the meat here. And the price as I say a tease. I don't plan to go again and I'm going to Tolosa a lot for work but I don't repeat neither dead. It is definitely a big disappointment. I was expecting something exceptional and I'm leaving with a mediocre and regular meal with an exaggerated price. That if the service is good, the quality of the product is not. I insist not to repeat
The most amazing Steak House experience you will ever have. This includes New York, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Hong Kong steak houses. They go by an effective formula of having a very simple menu that hasn t changed since 1951, the chef is in the restaurant every day and they dry age their own beef.
The steak itself is just amazing, it s only dry aged from 15-25 day so as not to over dry it, but it s long enough to concentrate and enhance the flavour. When you are done they invite you into the grill on your way out to watch how they make the steak. A perfect way to finish.
To top it all off they have an amazing collection of whisky covering the walls. You can loose yourself looking at rare single malts.
Extremely disappointed. Come all the way from UK to this place. We did have a booking from more than a month ago... and the place is just closed... they haven't bothered to let us know that they were not opening today... no words...
I went 2 months ago and Normalito the cutlet topic there are better just the same I had a bad cut but I did not like it, I think that a place of t-bone steaks have to show you the ribeye before cooking to see the filtration, for my taste the cutlet was poorly made and we cut it into 3 chunks did not seem the most correct, that less to be a place of fame of chops put an accompaniment, not having to take it apart, the very basic lettuce buds with fat black salt , the amazing cheese cake, however I will try more dishes, very good attention
They say that he is one of the greats of the T-bone steak and I can confirm it. Its base is peppers (spectacular) and meat, you can accompany them with a good starter menu ... (Asparagus = TOP) The attention is very good. I have attended a couple of times ... And I will return.
If you start to think I like strange places, Yes I do. But they all have one thing in common ... authenticity so, someway how you hope they won't get too sucesfull. :-)
An exquisite meal, delicious starters and a tender cutlet and at its point that it entered only. The staff of 10 in their treatment and speed. We could not leave the place more satisfied.
We came all the way from the UK for this meal (sounds ridiculous when you say that...!) but we were not disappointed. Hands down, the best steak we've ever had. The staff were really friendly and helpful, recommending a wine based on my own tastes, and the food was exceptional. We loved watching the steaks cook on the open flames and would 100% recommend Get the peppers!!
WONDER. The best meat I have ever eaten, we were lucky to have grilled asparagus first, they were also delicious. The service very nice and attentive. It is a restaurant that you pay for what they offer, not expensive. I will be back!!!!
We were due to do a driving trip in Northern Spain, so sent a cheeky, slightly optimistic email about 10 days before, and managed to get a reservation for Sunday lunch on route to San Sebastian. Arrived just as it opened to find a few other diners lurking in the area. The town isn't the prettiest, being industrial in origin, but the scenery on the drive in is lovely. The restaurant has two dining rooms, the one you may have seen on TV and a more modern one where we sat. Service is good, informal and relaxed. I could see into the kitchen and it was a picture of calm and order. Fresh ingredients were arriving on Sunday - special mention to the mahoosive mushrooms that are about 20cms tall and diameter. They looked amazing. We had assorted cured meats and white asparagus as a starter. It's all about the steak though. All cooked on one small wood fired grill. One large steak shared between 2. I had the portion with the bone in, and it was deliciously tender. We had the red peppers as an accompaniment. Online some people thought these were a bit expensive for what you get, but I thought they were delicious. Being a bit full by now, we shared a cheesecake, which was more than enough for 2. With a couple of glasses of wine and a beer and a tip, 140. The restaurant was full - on a Sunday lunch service ,with a nice relaxed atmosphere and good service - their English is way better than my Spanish!
Very good restaurant; Better to book because it is not easy to get a place. Stirred mushroom spectacular, very good meat although with some nerve, but with enough to look good. I recommend not to miss the cheesecake, maybe one of the best I've eaten. The treatment of staff is very good.
Fantastic we were guided through the menu in English and advise on quantities had one steak between 4 persons with the rider that we could order another if we so wished one steak was plenty after a starter and followed with a sweet
Well the steaks lived upto the hype. Although the restaurant seems to have had a makeover which kinda looks strange. Service was attentive and instructive.
