A very moving museum. The audio guide is easy to use and informative our two boys who are 6 and 7, came out telling us about anne frank and the terrible things that happened to the Jews, which allowed us adults to enjoy the museum. Great work.

Tip: With regards to tickets we didn't buy our tickets months in advance as this was a last minute trip to Amsterdam, but hopped online around 0745 that morning and additional tickets had been released for the 1500 time slot. Saved us a 2 hour wait in the long queue which had formed outside for the open session starting at 1530.

Its not that special. Glorified but sadly a lot of people forget that millions of others also perished in the holocaust. It was bulked by the audio tour but lasted 20 minutes. Worth visiting to say you've been.

Would definitely recommend the introductory program before going through the house. Great customer service by the staff. Walking through the house and learning about the impact of Anne Frank was a gentle reminder of everything at stake in today s world. We have to continue in investing in museums and programs like this, to remind us not to repeat the same mistakes of the past.

The Anne Frank house is well worth a visit if you're planning on coming to Amsterdam (just be sure to pre-book in advance!). It tells the story of Anne Frank and the thousands of other Jews who were persecuted during WW2 very well. Be prepared to spend about 2 hours for the whole tour.

An incredibly sensitive, contextual exposition of Anne Frank's life and work. I can't imagine anyone could leave this place unmoved by the enormity of the tragedy of the Holocaust in general and the loss of this intelligent, sensitive child. Be aware you *must* buy tickets online ahead of time. They come on market 2 months ahead. And you will likely still wait in line 10 minutes or so while your cohort gathers, so if the weather is poor, plan your clothing, footwear and umbrellas with that in mind. Kudos to the Museum staff for keeping the gritty details of logistics from diminishing your experience.

I would recommend going in the morning when it is less crowded. The audio tour was included in the ticket price and very informative. There was some new construction during my visit. Overall this was a good experience.

Tickets only available online. 80% are released 3 months before due date, remainder released on the day. Needless to say none were available for today. Waste of time getting here to find this out. I also expected an old house ( for some strange reason! ) strange to find a modern office block type of place instead.

Must visit place. Tickets are sold out very quick. Its better to buy them in advance online. Punctual service. Around 1-1.30 hours is enough to visit this place and read and know about everything that is to offer.

Short but very concise tour. Never boring and really interesting. Only fault was that it was under renovation so some rooms were empty and the original documents were replaced by duplicates due to this.

I liked a lot the tour, you have to get a ticket in the web in order to enter I did it like 3 days before my tour and I think it's not expensive. This place is iconic in Amsterdam so you must go there

Amazing tour of the house, there was many quotes from her diary on the wall as you walk through the house to complement the ambiance.
Many videos explaining the facts regarding her story.

There is a very, very big line. If you go there at 3h30, it will be around 2 hours of wait. I suggest coming a bit later during the day to get a way smaller line. (around 6 to 8 PM)

The entrance is cheap at 9 euros and well worth the wait.

I have read Anne Frank's diary multiple times, and this museum brought it to life is a very real and sorrowful way. To stand where she stood, where they all stood, was a moment of my life I'll never forget. Seeing the markings on the wall her father made measuring her and her sister Margot's growth, to see the pictures of movie stars she stuck to the walls with her own hands. Looking up into the attic in which she experienced so much, seeing out of the windows she looked out of. I could never describe what it all meant to me. I think the diary is a book everyone should read, and that this is a place that everyone should visit.

Haunting and humbling, even if you're not a history buff this is a must see. It's a pain to get tickets unless you book a month in advance or battle to be first to buy them at 9am on the day, but it's absolutely worth it.

So first thing, if you want to visit, tickets are available online and it is advised to book atleast 3-4 weeks before since you will not be getting any tickets on the same day you plan to visit or one or two days before, I kid you not unless your stars are lucky .
As soon as you enter, you're provided with headsets which have the languages English, french,German(obviously),Chinese and two more which I can't seem to recall. We took the English ones. They're of good quality and they provide a narrative tour of the entire place. There are numbers for particular segments and you just have to put your headset on the number to start the narration.
Now to the house. It was stunning. I'm into all of this historical stuff and war intrigues me. We were taken into every single book and corner of the house except the attic( that is sealed with a glass ladder so that no one can enter, however there is a mirror inside on the top which allows you to see things inside partially)- I found this a little disappointing because we were being taken to every single place in the house and then this area wasn't permitted so I was like :// but I get why they wouldn't allow people in. The bookshelf that hid the secret annex, still has some of the original files and folders. It's amazing to see such 30/40 year old paper documents still preserved. The walls still have the original pictures stuck on. Obviously they couldn't keep all the other stuff like mattresses etc.for people to see because then there would be no space to walk and tour! The walls are still painted from the inside so as to block the view of outsiders. The headset is on pause as soon as you enter the secret annex and continues right when you're walking downwards. At the end of the tour of the house, you're directed to a room where all of Anne's original letters, and of course, her diary is put on for show. There is a short documentary playing around in the room beside. On the other end is the souvenir store where you can shop till you drop. In the middle a small scale model of the house and the annex- with all the other things like the bed, table etc. Shown inside. All in all- a must visit.

Expensive but very interesting. They need to sort out some kind of time slot ticketing system though. Queing for 2 hours really takes the shine off an experience that lasts less than an hour.

Interesting place to visit. It was really crowded, even on a weekday in January, and I felt a little like cattle as we moved through the exhibit. They say take as much time as you want but there really wasn't much to see/hear and the mob I came in with was pretty much done in 45 minutes. I also skipped a few rooms to get ahead of the mob.

The audio tour has some good information but most of it can be found by reading the plaques on the walls. I had the feeling they were trying to stretch out the tour so people feel like they get their moneys worth.

Definitely a worth while experience when visiting Amsterdam for the history it provides for that era.

Wonderful and informative experience that is a must when visiting Amsterdam. The tickets need to be bought in advance for a set time to avoid crowding, which is reasonable considering how small The Secret Annex is. I went with a friend who wasn't at all familiar with Anne's story. She loved the museum and learned a lot!

An iconic piece of history, unfortunately not allowed to take photos in there. But i guess that helps keep people wanting to go there. 100% recommend. Although when it's busy... It can get very busy, leading to some delays

Booked a ticket from 7:30pm to 7:45pm, expecting to enter the latest by 7:45pm because we got some tight schedule afterward. The line is so long that the time on the ticket is simply meaningless. The staff is unhelpful. I saw that they allow a presumably local couple to skip the line to enter but my group isn't allow despite we start lining up from 7:30pm. Got in around 8:15pm and everything inside is so crowded. But we have to leave in a hurry because of the delay entrance time. The worst experience in Amsterdam

Don't go if you haven't read the book. The museum is just walls with text on it, I know it's about feeling and not seeing it, but of you have no emotional attachment to what happened here then is not very interesting.
Will change my review after I read the book.

A very enjoyable couple of hours. Pre book tickets on line before going as they sell out very quickly.
The house is well preserved behind a modern facade, you could walk past and not realise it s there ... apart from the queue!!
Free of charge bags storage as no bags larger than A4 allowed in museum.
Quite a few steep stairs to climb so bear this in mind, but you can go at your own pace .
Audio guide available but most of the information is on the walls, displays. Take your time, read and imagine...
Anne Frank Statue is situated just around the corner near the church.
A must visit in Amsterdam.

I recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to see the Anne Frank House. You need to buy tickets online, and the process was fairly straightforward, and there were no problems getting in with our printed passes. Arriving 15 minutes early is plenty of time. The evening I was there, there was a pretty large crowd waiting but you weren't getting in line until it was your designated time. Arriving any earlier is just a waste of time, unless you plan to picnic on one of the benches or something.

The museum set up itself, in my opinion, was very nice set up. There were audio pieces that you scanned into in each new area/room and the information given made the experience that much more real. As you make your way through rooms of video clips, family pictures, and assorted information of the Frank's life before going into hiding you work your way toward the actual hiding place. There is no audio in the actual hidden rooms, but there is information about each person in hiding as well as some places pointed out that Anne wrote about in her diary.

After leaving the hidden space the audio resumes and there are video clips of Otto Frank and those who helped hide the families. Overall, the museum was outstanding, and a very humbling experience.

Google's rating of "Loved it" is not quite what I would like to say; rather the experience is an important and sobering reminder of our tragic recent history. The visit is well worth setting the scene, but prepare to be patient as the building gets quite crowded.

Sadly the building has been significantly remodelled to accommodate the crowds, leaving a somewhat confused impression of how the original layout was.
