THEE absolute worst customer service ever. I canceled my insurance last month cause I finally could get better insurance. I talked to the guy and even made him email me about canceling it, and they STILL charged me for this month. Absolutely ridiculous.

The worse possible insurance you could ever have. Do not go with these people. I got into a car accident OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. I am carless. The accident wasnt even my fault. This insurance doesnt care about you at all. The girl handling my claim her name is Dulce. Whenever i call her it can be a week later until she answers my voice message. She NEVER answers her phone. It always goes straight to voicemail. Extrememly horrible service. There is a reason why they are getting horrible reviews. They're overly priced and the worse insurance you could ever have.

Went through a broker that the car salesmen recommended and I'm fairly certain that he was in on it because when I called to confront them about my terrible coverage they already knew that it was bad before I even said anything. Then when I tried to cancel it and go through a different insurance company they only gave me back $77 of the $260 I had paid and I only had the insurance for 6 days.

John Tran is an agent who suppose to give an inspection to my car. He claims that Anchor don't have personal shop for inspection, so he came over to my place instead. He leaved me a message at 9:05 saying he will arrive at 9:15. When I done cooking and saw his message, I reached out 9:17. I don't see him and when I call him he was yelling at me like a parent lecturing his child. He told me that he left for the next inspection. He told me that he do not want to deal with me anymore because I am late and he has a fixed schedule.
Anchor Insurance is so mess up. Why hire such a jerk as their agent? He has no patient, deluded, and hot temper. Remember you are the one who make a mess to my car and you don't have a personal repair shop. You should have learn how to be patient to fix your problem instead being such an @ss to convince me that your time is more important than mine.

Was involved in a accident at 04/13/19, I call in to file a claim and was told that someone would call me and an estimator would come to check the car, buy no phone calls or no estimator. Fast forward 1 month past by, still patiently waiting for a call from the insurance, then decided to call and finally they looked into the claim and did nothing too and i was told that it was my job to call the other insurance or party to check on their claim. Like really, that's why I have insurance for a reason, I thought you guys was suppose to be the expert. Just pure stupidity and even my the check can't even cash.

I have had this insurance company for almost a year now and I am happy with how easy the payments are a month.
I dislike how there is not a 24 hour hotline.
I dislike the fact that I pay $2300 a year on my full coverage plan and when I got in an accident I felt like I had to pry their hands open to fix my damn car.

No one was giving me answers or what I needed to do next or the step process to a claim. So I had multiple representatives that would leave voicemails without saying where they were calling from or what they were needing for me. The only thing that EACH INDIVIDUAL rep kept telling me was "I dont know what to tell you. you need to contact your adjustor"
well.... tried contacting that "Adjustor" her name was Melissa Cruz. She did not return any of my phone calls within a 4 day period. It took me leaving a voicemail for her supervisor...
Once I finally got a call from her she was telling me that I cannot go to any other body shop but there's, if I go outside of that body shop it was my deductible charge plus 20%. Which finding out with other insurance agents that is illegal....
I will be changing my insurance when it terms. If I didn't know what I was doing I would have been completely lost.
The bodyshop (united body) was the only help I had in this whole deal.

I had Anchor General while living in California and thought they were honestly a great value given the price. It was used as a bare minimum to follow state regulations and it served its purpose.

That is not why I am giving it 5 stars though.

That reason is because of their customer service team. Not just a customer service team, but one that works quickly, with compassion, and most of all, are capable of actually solving your issue without having to be transferred 10 times to only spend hours on the phone with no actual resolution, if not, further from one.

Long story short, I had a billing mishap, purely created on my own,, but was able to get it handled, rectified, and a resolution met within minutes on the phone and through email.

To my surprise, when I called, the call was almost immediately picked up my a REAL PERSON. A sort of convenience that can be overlooked in this day and age.

I explained my scenario and without much effort, was given clear and detailed directions on what to do, and how to do it. I sent over the requested information, and almost immediately was replied to, asked to do one more tiny thing, and by the morning, I was getting a phone call that everything had been taken care of.

It reminds me that there are reasons these small businesses need customers, and more so, that us customers need companies that have service teams like this one does.

Shout out to people like Pauline who helped me out immensely.

Also, to their management team, who is confident enough in their staff and give the power to their customer service team, to efficiently, and positively, resolve customer concerns.

I certainly appreciate the way Anchor General was able to do so for me.

I've been trying to figure out what the figures are for an accident I was involved in with one of their clients and I've had the hardest time getting through to anyone. I finally got a hold of the supervisor for the person handling the claim and she was even more rude, unprofessional and ten times more disrespectful than her minion. I'm filing a complaint with the better business bureau, I'm fed up with the way they handle business. I'd suggest that we file a class action lawsuit against the company. I've been contemplating suing them for financial distress. I lost my job because they weren't prompt about handling the claim. I bought a new car out of pocket because I can't just sit around not working with bills to pay. I have to have a roof over my head and food on the table too. I've been struggling to make ends meet since my accident and them not doing their job has impacted me tremendously.

This company is a nightmare to deal with. Their insured party backed into my car on 10/24/2014. It is now 02/25/2015. I have completed every phone interview and document they have requested. My insurance company completed an investigation and found their insured party at fault but Anchor General has stopped returning my calls and I have received no written correspondence from them since November 2014. I've had to resort to filing a complaint with the California Dept of Insurance and consulting an attorney.

Well, now I see why it has been so hard to get something done about my car . My experience is ranking right in there with these other reviews. I was rear-ended by an Anchor General client 3 weeks ago (9/19 3;3pm). I reported the claim to them the next day as I was shook up and didn't want to talk to anybody that afternoon. I took pictures of the clients insurance card and drivers license. After reporting the claim , it was at least two days before the person called me and of course I missed that call. I called back and again it was two day later when he call and again I missed that call. I called back several times and it is alway "give us 35 hrs to return your call" I finally spoke with him and he gave me the adjuster name who would be lookimg at my car. Again that took almost a week. I called and left messages wanting to know what exactly was going on finally to be told yesterday that they had not been able to get in touch with their client. So today I will be going to his work place and talk to him to get him to call his company. I told the insurance company it was pretty sad when a claimant had to go track down their client. Thankfully my car was not damaged to bad and I was not damaged or I would have been up that creek without a paddle. Sad Sad Sad

They do not deserve the one star rating I am giving them. This was the worst experience with any company of any sort! They tried to charge me for the month AFTER I canceled. Since I would not pay out they sent me to collections! I called their "customer service" line and all I got was push back. I had to send three different docs to prove I had cancelled and that my cars were covered under another insurance the month after I canceled! I spoke to the "supervisor" Victor S. (He would not give me his full last name) and he had the audacity to raise his voice at me! When I called him out on it he raised his voice again saying "I am not!" But wait, the best is yet to come. When I got the third doc they requested he did not have the guys to get back on the line with me. He had a service rep talk to me because he was in a meeting. Avoid these people at all costs. I've been trying to cancel for almost a month and I've heard 6 different ways I have to cancel and each one requires more information then the last. Even got asked to prove I had insurance to cancel mine with them. I would never suggest anyone to go with them.

You can't get through the phone lines , So I went to there location, the people there are so rude, there are hidden fees, and any claim will take forever...they don't cover rental car fees and if you don't use their collision shop you have to pay 25 percent of the cost to fix your own vehicle in an accident!??!

This is the most inept insurance company I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Their insured turned left in front of my son's vehicle on August 18th. It took 2 weeks for them to send an adjuster out to assess the damage. They're charging us $132.00 for a "betterment" strut because it was allegedly 70% worn. According to the body shop, there was no way in hell for the adjuster to know this as he wasn't there when they removed the damaged one. Each time we call, we either get voice mail and have to wait days for a return call or the claims examiner answers and is rude from start to finish. I'm paying for the rental car and have to submit a receipt for reimbursement. I can only imagine how long it will take them to issue me a check. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB today.

The worst, and let me tell you, in the fine print of your policy if you take your vehicle to "un-approved shop" basically a shop that doesn't work with them to save them money, you the customer has to pay 25% of the cost of repairs on your own vehicle. Good morning Anchor General Insurance,

My name is Eddie Mazariegos and I have been hit by one of your clients, Joey Hammleton, policy number: ******* on August 17th, 2016. The claim number is ********.

I am terribly dissatisfied with how the company handles has handled my claim up to date. Just in case, the extension to the agent taking care of my claim is ****. I believe her name is Emily Nelson, or someone of the sort?

I want it known I have been trying to get in touch with this agent for nearly 2 weeks, leaving 2 voicemails following the company policy throughout the process. I have even been calling at random times of the day trying to get a hold of Emily. I have reason to believe this person is the one responsible for taking care of my claim, but not once have I ever talked with this agent. The only reason why I know of this agent is because I called the general hotline and somebody at Anchor General provided me with the extension.

My first complaint would be when I answered the phone with this agent (who I believe it to be the agent with the extension 3847) I accidentally hung up the phone immediately when I pressed my smartphone against my face. I waited patiently for a call back for my mistake, but nothing happened, forcing me to call the general hotline and locate "Tara Arena." Not once have I missed a call from your office, nor missed any appointments with your company appraisal partners. How hard is it to provide a phone call back over the course of 2 weeks?

This is completely unprofessional! I have wasted countless hours with this company. Even now, I have been put on hold for hours with the claims office, After being picked up and hung (Yet again!) a second time! I have no better way of describing your company as ridiculous. And this has nothing about the damages on my vehicle (because I have been driving my damaged vehicle for nearly 3 weeks now) but the way this company treats the people involved in the claims. It is messy, unprofessional, I am leaving an online review immediately after this email.

And year after received a mail from a debt collector saying i owe them $122 for A WEEK they covered my auto. IN FACT I have already paid over $800 to them in just 2months. I switched to progressive, now I have lower rates and better coverage for my car. I tried calling them and their call center services are very unprofessional.

If you get hit by someone insured by this agency, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME filing a claim yourself. Go straight through your own insurance. They do not return voice mail for over a month, do not return letters, etc.. They took my claim, sent out an appraiser, then disappeared off the face of the earth. Reporting them to dept. of Insurance. The are basically a cheap token insurance certificate for students. They have no ability to process claims.

I was having fraud in my bank account and instead of calling me to let me know my payment didn't go through they kept charging it! Now not only am I stuck with 4 $25 charges from anchor I'm stuck with 4 $35 charges from my bank! Anchor won't take these chRges off my account. And not only did they do that they bounced my insurance up $30! So now I'm paying over $102/month..

I was in a car accident in February and by April they closed my case. I do remember saying I wanted full coverage and they did not do so, which left me car-less for 3 months. They did their part though as an insurance company and dealing with the accident. I am yet to see my rate go up.

UPDATE: I switched to another insurance company after my second accident when some distracted driver hit me. I found out that he was uninsured finding and this company took off my uninsured motorist part of my insurance without my knowledge which as far as I know everyone should have uninsured motorist unless you sign a document stating otherwise. When I asked to see that paper that proved I signed off on that they would not show me anything and say it was sent out to their main office and after multiple calls and attempts to get them to show me all they could say was that it must have gotten misplaced and that they would call me back. Point is they never called and I was left with nothing. They cheat you out of your money, insurance is supposed to protect you in cases like this which they didn't.

I paid a down payment of $200 and they told me my monthly payments would be $189 than I get a bill for $250 and they said they found some stuff on my driving record... like that wasn't all figured out before I signed everything? So than I cancelled 02/02/2017 and they said it would take 3wks to refund me the $200. Today is 2/28 and I have yet to receive my refund. When I called they said "you barely cancelled your policy 02/02" It's the 28th!!!!!!!! To top it off. Friday 02/24 they decided to charge me an additional $250 for the premium when the policy was cancelled! so now they owe me $450 god knows when I'm going to get that money back. They people are extremely rude and talk to you like you are stupid. DO NOT go with this insurance company. There are other insurance companies with WAY cheaper prices and better customer service.

Worst insurance ever a tree branch fell on my car and they will fix my car but want me to pay 25% of the damage for choosing my own shop and want to do the cheapest fix by using bando or get a used car and take the parts they need in that case y have this insurance if I have to pay and they are not losing no money the city will pay them what they spent on my car and it's only 3 years old

Anchor General is the worst insurance company ever. I was hit by another vehicle who is insured with this company. The claims adjuster, Ms.beridge, never responded to my calls /voice mails.
I've called asking to see if they can assign me another adjuster to my claim and never got an answer.
It s been more than a year already since the accident , and I have spoken to this clown once because she never answers nor calls back .
I already done signed my release settlement paperwork more than 2 months ago and still no check .
It s absolutely disgusting how this company runs,
The State of Texas needs to take care of these circus clowns ASAP .
They are playing with our MONEY & they are playing with our TIME

Anchor General is by far the worst company we have ever dealt with, their representatives seemingly sit back and collect money, in our experience they don't make any efforts to ensure everything is working correctly and that the insured is covered, and they do everything they can to get out of paying on insurance claims, look elsewhere.
