They keep raising my insurence every month. I paid my December payment then I changed my deductible from $500 to $1000. Not only did it go down only $10 but they charged me for December again and spread that payment out over the next 6 months. I would not recomend this insurence agency to anybody.

Getting Anchor General was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made! when I was hit by an uninsured driver I thought I was going to be totally fine and supported being that I had full coverage and uninsured motorist . But they ended up twisting my words about where I was driving to and denied my claim three whole months later . Now I am left with thousands of dollars of damage to my car .This has been one of the most stressful situations I have ever had to deal with . Their service is the worst I have ever experienced . It is extremely hard to get on the phone with anyone and they are not helpful at all . You can tell they are not on your side .
What a disappointment to read bad reviews and heard bad comments about this insurance company, I wanted to insure my cars with them, I rather look for a company in Tijuana doing business in California, Bye bye Anchor General.
Horrible insurance company...I actually got a better rate thru State Farm. But the people at Anchor are not helpful at all...no follow up, no calls back...worst company. And to top it off, even after I canceled my policy, 4 days later they charged my card again so now I'm trying to get a refund of my money.

They can silently decide to cancel your policy and mail you a notification days later. When you try to chase them down and find out why, they deliberately try to be evasive and make you jump through hoops, send them faxes with statements, and in the end they claimed they didn't receive my fax.
Their email to me came from a domain called "anchorgeneral.local" a nonexistent domain, indicating a misconfigured email server. I consider their misconfigured email server the best part of their org.

This company is a scam! They are the other driver (who was at fault) insurance. They have not spoken to us one time since the accident. We have called and our insurance (USAA) has called and cannot get a live person to speak with. Anchor just sent us a check in the mail for $1,800.00 dollars when there is about $9,000.00 damage to our vehicle. (We have gotten an inspection on our own) Anchor advised our insurance that the claim was closed and we cashed the check. We have not and will not cash this check, WE NEVER EVEN SPOKE TO THEM ABOUT THE CLAIM. This accident happened in November. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
Anchor General Insurance is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Their insured hit me from behind while getting change to buy some tacos. The adjuster has a stank attitude-her name is Cynthia. Her direct Supervisor never returned my calls. I had to get another Supervisor to send me the estimate. The real joke is, I took my car to a reputable collision company and even the manager laughed at the 320.00 estimate they gave me...a whole 900.00 dollars less than they quoted. You can t buy the paint to paint my car with their estimate. Horrible!!! I m stressed out.
The first time I called Anchor General I had to agents after 45 minutes transfer back into the queue when I was checking to see if a claim was filed. I filed a claim but was denied because apparently the guy that hit me was not at fault when the damage to my vehicle is on the side of my car and his car received no damage. This is the worst insurance company, refuses to follow-up or answer any questions. I'm the victim of a hit-and-run from their client, and there is no accountability. No customer service. Thank goodness this isn't my insurance, I would fire them.
This company is the worst. They don't do their jobs. The claims adjusters don't answer, don't call you back, they tell you they'll do something that day and it never gets done till you start calling and making threats. They said they would have an appraiser call me the next day. 3 days later when I haven't received any calls I started calling. Finally got to a different adjuster and they told me an appraiser was appointed for my case. Called the appraiser and he didn't get the case till 20 mins earlier while I was on the phone with Anchor. They told the shop they were going to issue out a check on the 17th of January. It's not the 26th and they never issued out the check because they were waiting for the w9 form which was sent to them on the 13th. Avoid this company at all costs.

It took 2+ months to receive payment so I could take my car in to get it fixed. Keep in mind that the damage to my vehicle was extremely minor. I can't imagine having to deal with this if the damage was worse or my vehicle totaled. The claims person I was assigned to, Samuel, never got back to me. I left several voice messages and countless emails, all giving generous amounts of time to respond. 0/10 would NOT recommend.
The worst customer service I have ever had. After my car was totaled by a drunk driver, I could not get ahold of someone to make a claim. Day after day, I was on hold for hours until they closed and I was disconnected. When I finally did make a claim, the specialist called me 1 time; left a message, and when I called back, he wouldn't answer. For 2 weeks I called until I got ahold of him. While he took my statement, he made me feel as if it was my fault! My car was parked in front of my house! I never heard from him again. I went through the other guys insurance. They were amazing! National General. I'm switching to them.
A terrible Insurance company in terms of customer service. Anchor General consistently caused problems when I attempted to drop them as my Auto Insurance provider. The process took multiple weeks to fulfill after numerous attempts to cancel my policy. That was over 6 months ago and now I am dealing with a wrongful collections notice because they never fulfilled their end of the cancellation process for my policy. A very terrible company to say the least. I feel sorry for the employees who work here as I'm sure they are met with many complaints from customers like myself on a daily basis. STAY AWAY!
I was hit on January 26, 2019 by a drunk driver who was insured by this company. He fled on foot from the scene of the accident. Through my investigation, I discovered the registered owner of the vehicle that struck me as well as his insurance company and policy number and filed a claim with Anchor General. The lady in the claims department who took my information was nice enough and seemed professional. After entering the pertinent details of my claim, I was assigned a claims number and told that an adjuster would be calling me in two days. After two days with no call from the assigned adjuster, I called back. It did take me some time to get through to someone but eventually I spoke with a representative who turned me over to a supervisor. My conversation with this 'supervisor' was by far the most unprofessional call that I have ever had to endure. This 'supervisor' essentially stated that the best Anchor General could do was to pay me $5000 to repair the damages to my vehicle. He also stated that since it was not certain who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, Anchor General's liability might be lessened if they determined that the registered owner was not the driver of the vehicle. Because he fled on foot, neither I nor the law enforcement were able to ascertain his identity. Lastly, he threatened to stall his investigation for months while my vehicle sat in the repair shop. While I understand that the aim of insurance companies is to minimize claim reimbursements, I feel that this company takes denial of claims to a whole new low. And they appear to be adept at the many ins and out of frustrating motorists who present them with valid claims. For this reason, I feel that it's best to obtain legal representation to pursue both them and this registered owner for the damage done to my vehicle.
Absolutely the worst. I cancelled my policy to go with a cheaper rate and they refused me my declaration page for proof of prior insurance I have reported this to the State Board of Insurance. I would give it 0 stars if it allowed me.

Their CLAIM department is the WORSE!! I've called Ramon Beltran and his supervisor over 6 times, left messages for 3 days straight. How are you going to contact my family member and tell them it's URGENT I call you back, when you NEVER are available or return phone calls? Meanwhile here I am receiving letters in the mail on this so called " collision claim". My vehicle has never even been in an accident...owell here I am on day 4 leaving 2 voicemails to Ramons line.
Hello, I do not recommend this Insurance, it is very bad, the truth is that they do not grab anything for you when an accident happens for more than 3 months and they could not solve a case of my car.
On Saturday, August 4th, I was involved in an accident with someone who is represented by this felonious insurance company. The process to file a claim and to get the person at fault to accept accountability was a song and dance to say the least, but ultimately with God's grace, their client finally accepted fault in the accident. Caveat: Just know, when you're dealing with ANY INSURANCE company, you're going to get the run-a-round. Luckily, the Agent handling my case, DENISE SMITH was/is at least cordial and somewhat pleasant. The problem came when I called to discuss my rental car accommodations. With Denise being out of the office, I was subjected to deal with her Assistant, Mark, who was extremely RUDE, CURT, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCONSIDERATE, APATHETIC, ASININE, UNACCOMODATING, CRASS and IMPATIENT. His demeanor on the phone had taken me aback and left me speechless in how he was choosing to handle me in this situation. Since Denise was out, unfortunately, I had no other choice than to deal with her Assistant, Mark. He proceeded to speak to me in a condescending and belittling manner about the company's process and what he was and wasn't going to do. I tried explaining to Mark that the details of my rental car had previously been discussed with Denise. He was uninterested and blatantly responded with It s Friday, I m not putting you in a car over the weekend, so you can forget about it." In all transparency, it wasn t WHAT he was saying, rather, HOW he was saying it. The one thing in Denise's favor, is that she knows how to speak with and treat the claimant, regardless of the news that's being communicated, whether positive or negative, she was conscientious of how she was being portrayed. RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT is all that anyone deserves, no matter what. Never before have I been spoken to so disrespectfully in ALL my life. For the record, I repeatedly asked to speak with a Supervisor to avoid having to continue with Mark, but to no avail. I was denied the right every time, which is completely unacceptable. At the end of the day, this is a service job where contact is made with individuals on a daily basis. If Mark or anyone in this position isn't equipped or ill prepared to handle ALL types of situations, he/she/they should not be working in this position. No one deserves the kind of treatment that I received today. It was uncalled for and unnecessary.
Would never recommend this insurance to anybody. It may be cheap but for the quality of the insurance I should be paying less. Customer service is HORRIBLE. I had a minor accident with an easy fix and it took 2 weeks for them to get back to me after me calling them every day. Don't go for the insurance just because it's cheap. Quality over quantity. Stay away from this place.

This company is awful! From the moment I called to make my claim I new that they were gonna make it very difficult for me. The woman taking my info when I filed my claim was very rude and that really upset me. I've had to call them multiple times a day and leave voicemail after voicemail because they are very difficult to get ahold of. Finally I emailed the claims department directly and promptly got a response. My adjuster contacted via email and it seemed that was the easiest way to get a hold of him. At first I felt guilty for emailing the claim customer service department directly and saying some not so nice things but this is honestly a very frustrating position to be in already. Both the guy who towed my car and the guy at the body shop told me Anchor General takes forever with their claims so in that aspect i'm lucky compared to some of the other stories on here. I am expecting to get my car back in about 1 week which will make it about 8-9 weeks since my accident.
I am not the only!!!! There are other leaving bad reviews they are horrible and the agents! If the owner of this company wants to be in business he needs to teach these people costermer service!!!!
It s a shame we can t modify our own policies. We wanted to add a vehicle but there was no option to do it online. No information on how to do it so I just ended up calling the customer service number.
I ve had this insurance for 3 years. Never had got into an accident, dui, etc. I overpaid with this insurance for the most basic coverage. My first year with them was a bit high as of the area and my years of experience. Second year it got lowered, which I was happy about. Third year my payment goes up higher than I ever paid on the first year. I was upset. I m going into my 4th year with them and it went back to what I paid my second year which is just $15 lower. I m canceling with them and going somewhere else. I don t recommend at all.
I'm going to give an honest review about this insurance. I'm in my mid 20's so like others my age I wanted to have an affordable insurance. I've had this insurance for a few years now, I'm giving it 4 stars because road side assistance takes a while and is a bit of a hassle. But if you have a lot of patience this shouldn't be a problem. After reading a lot of horrible reviews for this company I decided to give mine out because I've had nothing but good expirience with them. I recently got rear ended up a driver that had Geico on 09/05/2018. I put in a claim on both ends and wanted to wait on the other driver's insurance to take care of the damages. Geico gave me the hardest time, 'till this day they are still not cooperating! So I went through my insurance because I refused to wait any longer, I had collisions insurance. Deborah was my claims examiner that helped me, she was prompt, professional, and helpful. I guess at first you might think she comes off as rude but maybe that's her voice? Because she called back and answered all my questions in the same tone respectfully. My car got inspected right away, and towed that weekend because unfortunately it was a total loss. Now Dustin is taking care of the payout process which is going by smoothly. Usually they are busy but if you leave a voicemail and email on the weekends they will reply Monday morning. I recently changed to Allstate just because I have renters insurance with them and they offered a big discount towards my car insurance, but now are trying to charge me almost $400 for my car payment because "they state" anchor general is claiming I was at fault for this recent accident! I got in contact with Dustin and he immediately send me the documents needed proofing I wasn't at fault. I'm planning to go back to General anchor just because they've been the most helpful, prompt and less stressful insurance I've had. Car insurance are insane but anchor general isn't bad for a smaller insurance.

I was hit and injured by one of their insured on 6/1/18. They came to inspect my car a week later and that was it. Zero communication. I was on my own. Trying to deal with this company personally was literally impossible.
There were multiple witnesses to corroborate my version of events. All this information was clearly communicated and hand fed to these people. They denied the whole claim. After a week of my car sitting in the same place not driveable I decided to hire an attorney. Best thing I could've done!
It's now the beginning of October and I finally got a reimbursed for the rental car. I'm still waiting for my deductible to be returned and also payment for injury and therapy. First thing my attorney said was it's to be expected from a company like this.
I will do everything in my power to make this horribly shady company pay every cent of my claim and I will not stop until the limits on their insured's policy is exhausted.
If you have to deal with this company in any shape or form I pity you. You've been warned....

My mother was hit from behind by one of there clients. They are very unprofessional. When my mom has to speak with the rep., Matt Rice who was handling the claim, he was very short and rude towards her as if she was a child. The accident happened July 15th and its been a month now that she is able to take her car to get fixed. When the adjuster came out, he even said that it was the other person's fault. The rep. for Anchor General, Matt Rice was trying to stall to find a loop hole to say that my mom was in the wrong, but she wasn't. Matt called my mom and finally said they were going to pay for the damage because when he spoke to the witness, the witness said everything my mom said!!! So he thought my mom was lying even when the adjuster Matt sent out said there client was at fault!!! Matt Rice got one more time to talk to my mom disrespectful and we will be having our family Lawyer contact him and corporate office. I dont play with my mom being disrespected when she has done nothing wrong. This insurance company needs to be shut down after reading all 500 and something reviews being majority 1 star.
Wow...over a month now since I got hit and my car still isn't fixed! Receptionists hang up on you, transfer you to to VM instead of humans. Supervisors over adjusters dont even call back or answer. They say you will receive a call back within 24 hours, lies! No sense of urgency. I will be considering a lawsuit against this sham of a company.

If they had a just "POOR" button I would rate them with that one!!!!! they suck they are nothing but liars and take your money, while fixing your car the cheapest way possible to stiff you.....my truck was taken to a bad auto body shop which they said i had to use or i would have to pay 30% of the repairs if i didn't use one of the ones that they contract with, when I asked for the list of shops they would change the subject or tell me to give them a little bit until they can call the auto shop or their supervisor.... and they used an even worse appraiser that didn't know anything. On top of all of that they are making me pay my deductible when it was a 100% the other persons fault and maybe they might return it "Maybe" being the operative word, they didn't even fix everything that was suppose to have been fixed and like everyone else said getting a hold of them was very hard .... Turning on my turn signal to make a left crossing 1 lane that was opposing traffic to enter into a parking space legally. Driver came up behind me and decides to pass into oncoming traffic and hits me. Anchor denied for 2 years fighting the claim and they won. Even though the s***** driver was 100% at fault based on Police Report. How is this possible that someone crossing into oncoming traffic and hitting another vehicle is not at fault? Literally worst and most shady insurance company around! I will be contacting my attorney to file a lawsuit against them so that no one else gets treated unfairly by them anymore! Anchor General is the worst insurance company ever. I was hit by another vehicle who is insured with this company. The claims adjuster, Heidi, never responded to my calls or voice messages. I've called asking to see if they can assign another adjuster to my claim. They sent an appraiser to look at my vehicle. He didn't provide any paperwork or even clean off the dirt to get an idea of the damage. He submitted a very cheap quote compared to the quote I received from the dealership 10 minutes after he left. My vehicle has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks. The dealership had to wait for the insurance company to send out the appraiser to look at my vehicle again to assess the damage. I called Heidi asking if she can approve the extension on the rental car, she didn't answer. I explained that they are holding over $300.00 on my credit card. I decided to email her, and she still didn't respond. When I spoke with the rental agency, they said they spoke with her and got everything taken care of. I emailed her to thank her for responding to the rental agency and she emailed me back and said "no problem". It's a shame she only emails when she receives a compliment. This is the worst claims adjuster I have ever seen. She didn't even have the decency to let me know the status or that she took care of the problem. I think the insurance company should train their employees on how to be professional. I'm so glad I have a good insurance company. I hope others read these complaints before proceeding with this company.
Worst company ever!!!! I didn't listen to these reviews, and now I am paying for it. I just thought 'oh well, its cheap'. They just want you money and don't want to help you out. I got into a fender bender...... wait for it........ 2 months ago!!!! It took them a week for the claims adjuster to get a hold of me. And my car is still not fixed. My dad got into an accident and 3 weeks later his truck was fixed. This is ridiculous. And I have given them ample time to get ahold of me. And yet, nothing. They are the worst, please don't do what I did and just listen to the reviews.

one of the worst company i have ever had, terrible customer service. I was involved in an accident. at first, they it took me more than 2 hours to file a claim and then nobody was answering my phone. They are very quick on payments to collect but never ever gonna help you with your questions. hell ya! it's already been more than 2 months but still they didn't fix my car which is minor. it can be fixed by 2 days. They also overcharged me when even my car was in their body-shop for repair. Horrible. I wish I didn't have a policy with them at all. Hated. I don't understand why such a company is still in business. I highly recommend not to be a customer with this company.

I had a total loss and its been 3 going on 4 months and the financial company still hasn't received anything and don't know why because they already had all the paper work they needed and even spoke to them getting the account number because all they need to do is make the payment already. Have had this insurance for 3 years. Till I got hit I realized that's why its cheaper. Thanks Mike Tabusto, only guy that helped me through my claim process. Everyone else including my claim examiner Mery Velez get another job because helping your paying customer is not one of them.
When my vehicle broke down I was told to stop paying and my policy would cancel automatically. That was last December. This is late July and I am just now getting a bill for less than $5 threatening to send me to collections over it. Insurance is a scam.
I'm very unsatisfied with Anchor General. It has been almost two months of waiting for the documents that I am suppose to filled out and return with my title of my car due to total loss in order for them to fund my total loss check, but I haven't yet received any documents. I have trying to get in contact with the claims agent so many times with my name, claim #, and my contact number, and he hasn't called me back. I blame Freeway Insurance Service for this mess. Worse service ever. I don't recommend to go with this insurance.
I'm only giving a rating because of how inconvenient their stupid "convenience fees" are. You can't pay over the phone through the automated voice machine because then they'll charge you an extra $8. And you can't go in to do it either because then they charge you ANOTHER fee for that. The only way to not pay a fee is if you link them to your bank account or if you pay online. Here's my problem with both of those methods: there is no way in hell would I ever in my wildest dreams allow a company so unorganized access to my bank account. And as far as payments online, forget about that because their website doesn't support anything. I've tried to log on from 3 different browsers, one of which being on my phone, and it does not support either of them. The year is 2018, how the hell do you have a website that DOES NOT WORK?

Accident Happened 01/07/2019. I was involved in a rear end collision on interstate 5. The driver responsible has Anchor Insurance. It took Anchor over a month to admit fault but I have not received any settlement so far. My vehicle was totaled and sent to a tow yard accumulating fees. Anchor never came out to inspect the damages. It's been almost 2 months, and only received 1 email from Anchor admitting fault. I don't know how Anchor insurance can legally run a business like this!
It's Not Fair Company about the Accidents, they take too long, they dont answer. My brother got his car hitting by a guy how has this insurance, at they end trying to Speak to the Representative of the claim (Heather Yee) so much but she did not Answer our calls she gave us an appointment with a time to call us but she didn't, after that we spoke to the supervisor she said it's my brother Fault because they talked to the Witness ..the problem is there is Noo Witness Saw the accident or some one stop by .. i told them that there was no Witness the said there was a Passenger with the Witness he take him home and then he went back to the Accident area .. but my brother and the other car the lift the area together after changing the proofs of insurance, Also the other guy he gave my brother a Fake paper not his insurance .
Based on the fact the incident just happened last night, & to file a claim right now is taking me 3+hours to do. It s pretty obvious to me that I will not be getting the help I need-so there goes my brand new 2020 vehicle. After all the f***en payments I have made and on time can t even get an timely response . This is by far the worst insurance company ever! If you are under 25 and financing a car, this may seem like a cheap option, but it's cheap for a reason! This insurance company charged me twice for my auto insurance payment, overdrafted my account and I got charged a service fee. And when I called, a lady named Debbie asked me to fax over my bank statements to PROVE that they charged me twice even though it should show on their system! Then she said it would take them three weeks to refund the money! This place is a joke and their customer service is shitty! I dont even know how they are still in business. Don't waste your time or money!

This company will take months to settle a claim. Also, they will encourage you not to file the claim and write it for thousands less than what the body shop needs. What a joke!! no wonder they are cheap..

I was rearended in a multi-vehicle accident with the last driver in the line of cars being uninsured. Was able to open a claim with the company, but not able to get a hold of the assigned agent to my claim afterwards. Called them, left them messages once a week for two months. Eventually received a letter from them that they closed my claim because they were not able to get a hold of me!!!!!!! Very unprofessional.
If I could give a zero minus I would I have had a claim since September 2017 and have yet to speak with an Adjuster. When I initially filed the claim, I was told that the client did not have insurance. Then I received a letter that I owe for damages to their client's vehicle without them even speaking with me or coming to look at the damages to my vehicle. When I called about the letter then I was told that they assumed that I was a minor and could not speak with me don't know where they got that from. Then I was told he would contact me the adjuster and that they need to speak with a witness first, never heard of that. Now I am completely getting the run around. John Fisher and Kyle Huckabee are very rude and very unprofessional. I am seeking litigation now.
