Traditional London pub. Great for after work drinks.
Great fish and chips, and there is even a bill signed by Hemmingway.
You have to order via app in garden & today app wasn't working. Told to order in bar instead but card machine not working so only taking cash. A bit frustrating as people were still being sent up to roof & told to order via app. Not great customer service & frustrating
The summer terrace is so nice!
Incontournable Place
Beautiful view, Pub also very atmospheric. I was on Saturday, part of the menu was not available, because only until Friday, so I ordered soup (I wanted something other than fish and chips and a vegetarian.) I got a portion so small that the kids menu would be bigger. Half a cup like from coffee with Costa soup: / buuuuuu ..
One of London's oldest pubs. Almost non-existent service, excellent beers and average food.
According to the local legend, this is where Shakespeare grabbed an occasional beer or two. The pub is spacious with plenty of seating options across three levels. There are big screens to watch a cricket or a football game while enjoying your favorite beer. The food is decent. I tried the steak and wine pie- it met the pub food standard. The service was exceptionally quick, which made me wonder if the food was already made even before I placed the order.
Very good burger, but no order taking at the table, you have to order at the bar
This pub is in such a great part of London and over looks the River Thames. There is a great seating area outside with it's own outdoor bar. But the service in this bar was soo slow. The poor barmaid was left be herself to run it on her own and she wasn't happy, nor would I too. It was a fantastic sunny day, and once we had our drinks, enjoyed great views, but instead of returning to the bar for more drinks, we decided to move on to a different bar.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. Huge bonus points for having a vegetarian "Fish" and chips + mushy peas dish!
Just behind Borough Market, this historic pub is perfect for resting after a long day out and about in London. Order a beer and something to eat, enjoying the rugby match on TV!
Slow service at the bars with grumpy or non committal staff. Peas missing from the ham egg and chips
Stunning pub right by Thames South Bank. I definitely recommend anyone to have any of its draught beers and enjoy it while London's lively ambience surrounds you and take you to a better world!!!
Great place. Full of history and a symbol in the city of London. Good to have a snack, dinner or even just for a drink. A must go...
Great pub which you can sit out looking over the Thames. As it is on the tourist track it gets busy from about 4pm.
Genuine english pub with a wide range of beer and ale located on the southern bank of Tamisa.
Great views with seating outside over looking the Thames
Despite being in a super touristy area, this pub is one of my favourites. The staff are extremely professional and friendly ( Christula upstairs is a great hostess and very efficient ) and Peter couldn t have been more helpful when one of our group had lost their keys.
Good beers, decent food, lots of space.
Will come back and can definitely recommend.
Flowers are always beautiful outside plus a pub near the river is always a bonus, but it's a touristy pub not many locals which I turns lack of atmosphere. But is a beautiful setting and a beautiful pub. Ps lights outside make a lovely sight.
Great vibe by the river. Enhanced by out side bar.loved it
A well placed, historic location. The pub staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was good pub grub and the prices were reasonable considering its excellent Riverside position.
Great location for beautiful sunsets. Crowded on Thurs Fri and Sat nights.
Nice terrace and pub well located but chain dishes without interest.
Great little pub on bankside with a great seating area out front. Awesome fish and chip shop inside too.
Typical London pub on the banks of the Thames. Recommended for a beer and maybe for a chat with friends.
The food is delicious and the place is huge. It does fill up rather quick as it is on the main promenade visited by tourists every day.
(American Reviewer) Now, we walked here after completing the London Eye Cruise. This place was talked up by the cruise crew and so I imagine the place gets many tourists/business from them. As it was our first time visiting a British pub, we were very much in the dark about how to receive service. A simple sign saying "seat yourself" would've faired us better than walking up and down their many floors searching for an employee or anyone who would help us OBVIOUS foreigners figure out how to get food there. I really hated the idea (especially as pregnant as I was and after walking 30 minutes to get there) of going up and down the stairs to find a table, then having to creepy stare down tables that looked like they were done eating until they left. After going through the process of stalking a table and rushing to it before someone else nabs it (fortunately, the couple saw I was heavily pregnant and yelled at the people who tried to steal the table from us), we then have to leave an article of clothing or leave someone at the table to guard it so we can walk to the bar to order. So basically, the servers here only bring food to the table and clean the tables periodically (nobody came to clean up all the bottles from the previous guests, so they just piled up on the floor and window sills).
The ONLY reason I'm giving this a star above 1 is because the fish and chips actually lived up to the hype that this "infamous" pub was given. The batter was light, flaky and crispy. The fish was a hearty Texas-sized serving and tasted very fresh! If only the service could match the taste, I'd give this place 5 stars. But like I warned, I'm an American and if this is how pubs work, I'll leave it to my younger, not pregnant cohorts to enjoy.
Great place to stop for a bar lunch or beer after a walk along the south bank
Historic pub with a nice view. Food is decent, and beer selection as well. Service is quite slow!
Not a bad pub to spend a few hours with friends or on your own. Can get very busy
Great pub but gets a little too busy in the evening
HUGE pub - I imagine it can get incredibly busy, but it helps that there is friendly and quick service. But it was really loud and I struggled to find a seat where we could talk.
One of my favourite stops along the south bank, felt very safe, and comfortable
Very touristy pub. Don't expect good food not good service... Just some nice view of the docks
Very busy pub, very average food.
This pub is super busy on Friday evenings, like most central pubs in London. They do have several bars throughout the different rooms, so ordering doesn't take too long, even at the busiest crush times.
The food was only average pub food quality, disappointing mac&cheese that tasted like cardboard and a rather dry pie that needed lots of gravy to make it edible. The food looked nice, but didn't deliver in taste and texture.
It was also very loud and crushed at times, so not what I'd call comfortable. We had booked a table, but the group next to us just took over part of our table, spreading out way too far into our space. There's definitely better options in the area.
One of the few surviving Elizabethan Inns in London. Great views of the Thames

Great beer garden on the river bank. Drinks are very pricy though
Cosy pub with good space.
Really welcoming
Nice selection of beers and quick service. Recommend
Typical English pub, good beer menu, has a very cool terrace, live music from a singer in the street.
Quick service and lovely location. Food was not bad but also not amazing. Good place to stop for a drink and enjoy the views on the Thames.
The '2 meat' chicken and beef Sunday roast dinner tasted like self-loathing. The meats were flabby and showed no signs of ever having been roasted. The vegetables were soggy, reheated and suffering from depression. There were 3 tiny, More
Good mentions first: The food was great, people were friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Bad: They were missing the first three things I tried to order. A restaurant should be prepared to cook any meal at any time.
Awful service and bad attitude from 2 of the female bar staff. They need to learn manners and courtesy and read the rule book on hospitality. If you have time to waste queuing at the bar to be "served" (or not) by a miserable employee then this is for you
Lovely setting friendly staff and they are managing social distancing really well
The service is very poor.
There are several counters that shuttle up and down here, and there are not many guests, so no one can take the initiative to ask if they need anything. Simply leave. I don't want to come again next time.
This place serve some amazing fish and chips in toen
Nice views of the river but can get crowded and cramped with tables laid out like desks
Massively over priced food. Tiny portions at twice the price or anywhere else.
Nice large pub on river Thames. Good selection of real ales. Does get busy, but that's the price of being popular
Terrible food - spent 28$ getting there sent dish back for refund. Dry cold chicken - never again - take a pass!!
Expensive tourist trap playing on its good location next to the river. Service bizarrely aggressive, no management in evidence
Way fancier from the outside than inside. But good location.
Great pub, it's a good place to go before getting dinner around in borough market. Noticeable quieter then the bars in borough market but does get busy on thursdays and Fridays
A great place. Delicious fish and a large selection of beers.
Nice atmosphere but the worst food that I had in London.
The pub is very pretty and the food tastes above average. Prices are also moderate and we were lucky to have a very attentive and professional waitress tonight. Too bad for the security guard, who sat next to the bar on the ground floor doing literally nothing all evening except staring unceasingly at my wife. His persistence was quite annoying especially after she showed repeatedly clear signs of discomfort at his lack of manners. In his defense, she is truly beautiful, but never before it happened that we found such an impolite and annoying member of stuff in a pub before.
Large pub very busy at weekend very pricey lots of tourists
Thomas on the bar saved the night. He was professional. Efficient. And friendly. However. The other staff (female) that were on tonight were not as good. Borderline rude. We purposefully waited for thomas to serve based on our nights experience. He saved the night. Thanks Thomas.
Nice, very big pub with outdoor seating on the river Thames bank. Good selection of Ales, not cheap, not expensive for the area. Food nothing amazing but they have nice fish and chips.
Lovely seating outside with a view. Friendly staff and service.
Lovely setting Lovely pub. I arrived and was 2nd in the queue 4 the bar ( outside section). Barman v friendly and i took a seat whilst waiting for my partner to turn up.
80s music was playing and this place has a lovely vibe to it.
Was nice to chill and people watch.
All in all a great pub and the pizzas from what i saw looked very appetising as the two guys next to me demolished theirs!!
Lovely pub for food or just a drink, in an excellent location. Good atmosphere, and friendly bartender
