Lovely hotel with big suites with all the comforts of home...2 large screen TVs, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, plenty of outlets for charging, a large table for eating/working, & plenty of seating. They offer a free evening reception with drinks & light snacks as well as a nice breakfast in the morning in their atrium. The only drawback is the parking situation which affects all the hotels in the area...you have to park in a parking garage ($29 parking fee so check for hotel pkg for discounted parking) & drag your luggage from there. We stayed on a cold rainy day...not fun dealing with that. Lots to do in the area but be prepared for traffic congestion & high parking costs everywhere.

Second year visiting this time of year for a conference. Last year things seemed shaky on the logistics but I wrote that off as a first year event there. This year we've had a bit of confusion trying to figure out what we as attendees understood from the event, and what the hotel staff indicate at check in and throughout. I love Embassy Suites and the Hilton brands in general. This particular one, though, seemed inconsistent this year. Rooms with do not disturb tags left up were still accessed and cleaned, a friend's room was checked out of and the hotel staff checked other people unaffiliated with our event into it, and some of the side hallways were not sufficiently cleaned - in one second floor hallway, I noticed the same pizza box sitting in the same spot in the hall from Friday night until I went to bed Saturday night - certainly at least one staff member walked by in that point. The amenities are what the Embassy is about for me, and I've got no qualms there. But for a hotel that is clearly not at capacity, it seems like there wasn't full care taken from my view as a guest here.
Clean everywhere but the pool! Complimentary breakfast was great! Snacks at the happy hour weren't as good as at other Embassy Suites . People were all lovely!
Worst service I ve ever seen! Stay away from this hotel if you can! Waited at the airport for 1 hour for the shuttle to pick me up, but they never showed up! After a long wait on the phone, the hotel s manager finally picked up the phone and told me there was an emergency that they can t take the guests, and he didn t what was the emergency. However I saw a few dozens shuttles from other hotels are picking their guests despite this emergency .
This is hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed at. First of all, we were there for a convention, so things were already crazy for the staff. Even dealing with hundreds of people, the staff was genuinely friendly and really seemed like they wanted to interact with you.
The amenities were absolutely amazing. The pool was relaxed and a nice temperature, the workout room was well stocked, and the food was amazing. Also, there were free drinks daily from 5:30-7:30. Never been to a place that's done that before.
I'm hoping this is the right place to name drop, because they deserve the recognition. Carlos, Fernando, and Alehandro (I'm sorry if I misspelled!) were some of the coolest people I've ever met at a hotel. They ran the dining area and the complementary drinks area the nights I was staying there, and my only regret was that I wasn't able to talk to them longer!
When we were checking out, someone came around just to chat, he must have been a manager or something. He was friendly, laid back, and could've just passed as someone else staying at the hotel who wanted to pick up a conversation. I regret not getting his name.
The rooms are beautiful, with two separate rooms and two sinks outside of the bathroom! Two large TVs, a table, a desk, and a bar.
Now, why the 4/5? Only two things. One, the fold out couch mattress was pretty uncomfortable. Just felt like coils and a thin sheet of fabric, although it is a fold out couch so there's only so much you can do there.
The big one, though, is the doors to the room. They are not good. It's a double-door style, with only one that opens, and the doors are made of fogged glass, meaning that no matter how late at night it is, the lights from the hallway will ALWAYS be shining into the spare room. Meaning that anyone who's staying on the couch will basically have the lights on all night. Those two things made sleeping pretty difficult sometimes.
Do yourself a favor, stay at this hotel. It'll be the best experience of your travelling. Just make sure, if you're staying in the spare room, bring a foam mattress and some eye covers.
This hotel is absolutely disgusting. Our family has had previous experience at the embassy suites in different locations, and the hotels like that are nice, and clean. When we walked in the doors, it did not feel like a hotel whatsoever. There were carpet stains and ugly walls, and it did not feel like a clean environment. We had to drop off our luggage because our room wasn't ready and put it in a gross storage closet, and we went to see Chicago. Upon returning, we went up to room 521. The actual bedroom was decent, but nothing like photos I've seen, but the bathroom was the horrendous part. The floors were so extremely dirty and covered in mud and dirt. The bathtub was the worst of it and it was filled with hairs from someone shaving, and dirt and muck. It was disgusting. We called downstairs to have them clean, and we waited thirty minutes because they "had other rooms to clean." We finally called again and requested a new room. The other room was a little bit better but there were still hairs lingering around. The customer service is not up to par and they don't seem to care too much about their guests. Because of the uncleanliness, and lack of service, we will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I do not recommend this hotel at all, and you can go to a much nicer place for less money.
I have always been impressed with Embassy Suites, whether visiting or staying. The room layout allows for entertaining while keeping sleeping quarters private, complete with wet bar. Great for after hours unwinding after a long day at a convention.
It's a nice property, mostly renovated. It was super-crowded this past weekend and it seemed like the breakfast staff had a hard time keeping up. Other than that, it was a good stay.
I usually love Embassy suites, but this time they decided to stick me with extra fees that were not in my reservation confirmation. They did not charge it or say anything about it when I checked in. No over night they decided to charge everyone a extra fee and it was based on a percentage of some sort. When I went to find out why and what happened, i was told to be thankful other got hit worse. When I travel for business, all expenses come out of my pocket. I budget all year. After the hits I took from them I had to be very thrifty. So disappointed. Very unprofessional.
Awesome hotel and I happen to love the brand based on the all suite accommodations, full complimentary breakfast buffet and Manager's Cocktail Hour with free drinks. I have stayed at all of the Embassy Suites in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. This was my favorite. The on site restaurant served quality food and this location is across the street from Gibson's steak house. The bed and were both comfortable. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Will definitely return.
This hotel is very clean and run very smoothly and efficiently. Their evening cocktail receptions are wonderful and the morning breakfasts are absolutely outstanding. They take place in the lovely airy atrium area where hotel guests can get together and visit while enjoying their breakfast or the evening cocktails. This hotel also is perfectly located for anyone who has to attend a convention also just a walk through the parking lot brings you to the entertainment area where there are lots of restaurants and things to do. We live in the area and came here to stay overnight just as a little getaway. We had a wonderful time and we definitely will be staying here again.
Hotel clearly needed some updating. The pull-out sofa was basically Springs. They don't use duvet covers so obviously everything is kind of dirty. The breakfast was average at best, and the entire facility was overall dirty. Beyond that the guest rooms have partially see-through doors, making the living space bright throughout all times of night and Loud because the doors were not properly sealed. Definitely not up to your typical Hilton standards.
Great beds, swanky place. How does a place this nice not have a continental breakfast? And why do they keep replacing my towels with one less everyday.
I stayed from November 24-26 had a awesome experience room was VERY CLEAN ,happy hour staff was very friendly breakfast staff was VERY FRIENDLY AS WELL! No complaints would definitely return next time I m in Chicago .
The hotel staff went out of their way to say "yes" when others have said "no". Marylou in banquet services, Walter in engineering, and John at the front desk made my job on the event production team much easier. Our stay was complimented with excellent breakfast options, an evening reception, and an outstanding housekeeping team. Although it is an Embassy Suites flag, the hotel staff certainly treated you like you were a guest at the Waldorf properties. Thanks for a great event and stay in Chicago!
Really spacious rooms, friendly staff, good complimentary breakfast & evening reception for guests. Decent pool & fitness center. Good restaurant on site. Don't expect expect extra pillows or in room coffee during larger events. Elevators will provoke anxiety, been sketchy for years, will the doors open? Will you be stuck (again)? Get a room & join the fun!
Stoped to a friend staying at this hotel, the clerks at check in are cold, non-welcoming and inhospitable toward guests. They made us feel as if customer service was a burden to them.
We were just dropping off some family that stayed the night. They said the hotel had complimentary chips and salsa and pretzels! Would definitely stay there myself. They also said the room was nice and the service very courteous.
This is our preferred hotel for anime central. The staff are always very kind and helpful. There appear to be some maintenance concerns that I'd like to see addressed; our air conditioner didn't work at first, there is some furniture damage, and I noticed some water damage on the lobby ceiling. However, I've only had great experiences with every member of staff I've met, and the evening reception and suites are a large reason why we choose to stay every year.
Location is wonderful, very close to the convention center. The rooms are fantastic, very spacious and full of amenities. The in-hotel restaurant is also very good, reasonably priced, and the staff is very helpful.
Hotel was nice and conveniently located. Parking was a bit expensive @ $26 per day especially when the other side of the garage is $15 to go to the financial park
I spent a wonderful New Years Eve at the Embassy for an annual event. The rooms, and the events were nice HOWEVER they turned off all but 1 elevator for the entire hotel as if to say "We don't care about your safety because you're just partying." I have a strong feeling that if there was an event with people of a different ethnicity they would not have turned off elevators, endangering the lives of hundreds of people as they did us. The wait times to go from the events held on the 1st floor to the rooms were in the upwards of 45 minutes and more therefore the lines to wait were unbearable. The crowds got so large that people overcrowded the elevator and it rocked in a frightening manner and moved unusually slower than I've every seen before! TRULY disappointed with the hotel for their careless nature especially with the recent scrutiny of these hotel chains.
This hotel has areas that are great and areas that they are clearly working on. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Natasha at the desk absolutely made our stay. She was social and professional, gave great suggestions on local places to eat and shop. The first room I stayed in had an incredibly unpleasant smell and o had to switch rooms. One of my travel companions had an AC issue and had to have maintenance attend, while another had to switch rooms. Embassy suites overall is a great property, and this one is in the process of some renovations which will help tremendously. Great staff and great location, walking distance to many sites and places. There is a walkway through the parking garage to the park where there are many restaurants and things to do.
Air quality was poor it smell like the pool area strong chlorine. And corresponding high levels of humidity inside room like someone just I got out of the shower. Air conditioning nor heater helped with the high humidity otherwise room was nice and clean kids complained of weak wifi also
Loved my stay here. I enjoyed having the room with the bed and the nice sitting area. I had my little one with me, but I was able to enjoy myself while he slept in the other room. Only downfall would be that only one elevator worked the day we left. It was a long wait and I wish there was more signage informing guests there was an issue.
During check in process, there are never enough customer service attendants to get through the line quickly. I tried checking into my rooms three times just to be told each time that our rooms weren't ready yet, all within 2 hours, including not being able to get into our rooms until 4:40pm, well after the check-in time. As an h honors member, I find this process untidy and unorganized.
I attended a gear training course here and the hotel was great! Nice room with a large conference table/room attached. The Basil restaurant was also very accommodating of an allergy. Highly recommend.
The room was wonderful and priced great, but we had a huge issue with breakfast. Even after telling the front desk that our party had 6 people in it, they only gave us four cards for the complimentary breakfast. Even after asking for another two the next morning, the front desk agent said it was against policy to give out more. We've never stayed at this brand of hotel before, but if it means that members of our party have to go hungry in the morning, we will be staying elsewhere in the future.
This was my 3rd year staying at this hotel for a dance congress happening in the area. Unfortunately, I think it will be my last! The hotel itself is great, but I had such a terrible time dealing with anything related to management/front desk- terrible! My first day there I was in 3 different rooms for a combinations of reasons. At one point I had a neighbor guest trying to go into our room to physically confront us, and management said he was doing US a favor by not kicking US out!? WHAT? It was incredibly stressful and at a certain point humiliating for me. There was just so many issues, I can't even begin to explain. Such a disappointing stay.
Could be the worst customer service experience I can remember. I tried to change my reservation from two nights to one night due to business travel changes. I was informed that to do this, they would have to cancel my existing reservation and rebook. But oh, guess what? If I wanted to go from two nights down to one....there were no rooms available!!! So let me get this straight- if I stay two nights you have a room, if I stay one, you have none. Am I the only one who sees the math problem here?
Then, when trying to discuss with a manager I get disconnected twice, and then my call gets routed to the corporate office - where -you guessed it....she can't help.
Room and amenities were excellent but front desk staff refused to provide second complimentary breakfast voucher for second guest when only one was initially given. Staff member refused to acknowledge fault, though manager rectified situation.
